Awesome teacher, will take time to help you understand a concept. I would recommend him to everyone. I wish he would teach MATH 1050!

Ben Moulton is a way cool guy. He's a great instructor but beware! His test are extremely difficult and weight heavily on your grade. Never take this class block.

I took his class first block, and then 1050 2nd block. His class was harder, but I rocked 1050 because of him.

I did minimal homework and aced the tests. He helps with basic knowledge, and if you need assistance he is there.

He is an awesome teacher. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a teacher who will teach you math. Very Helpful and will do all he can to help you understand.

Best math teacher at UVSC! He loves what he does and it shows. Homework was easy and only due after the chapter test. He gives you a review before every test, and if you grasp it they are not bad. He really makes class fun, with songs and all.

Ben is the most charitable professor I have ever met! He really cares about you and is willing to work with you. He even brings his guitar to class and has fun ways to remember formulas and such. His tests are medium/hard but if you go to class you can pass them. I highly reccommend him.

Ben is a great teacher who loves teaching math. He has devoted his life to it and it's evident in his teaching style. If you struggle in math take Ben. His class rocks. Daily quizes make your grade go up. Tests are medium to hard but if you go to class everyday you should be fine.

Ben is an incredible teacher. Honestly, all teachers in the math department need to take lessons from this guy. He tells you straight up what he expects the first day. He warns that it may seem a little rushed at first, but you'll thank him later in the semester when the harder stuff comes at the end. Class was packed cause we wanted to be there!

I took this class cause i failed the entry req. for the next courses. I am so glad i started where i did, and that i got this teacher. My experience with math teachers was horrific at UVSC until Mr. Moulten came along and made math fun and not so threatening. Plus he is so personable and easy going that he creates an environment that is conductive to learning and EVERYONE appreciates that!

Great Teacher! If anyone is taking MAT 1010 they need to sign up for this teacher right away! He always is willing to help students and explain how to do problems with great detail. His test are hard but that's only to prepare you for the final. He also uses a variety of teaching methods. Including music. Ya gotta love the songs!

Ben is the coolest math teacher on campus. Other Math teachers could use some lessons perhaps. Very clear,extremely helpful,and always more than willing to assist with any questions! This is THE teacher to take for Math before 1050,although i wish he would teach 1050!

WOW! WOW! WOW! I have never understood math as well as I have with Ben. I had him for 9900 and 1010! The only way you wont do well in his class, is if you don't do anything! His tests are EXACTLY like the study guides, so just study and do your homework and you will understand, and do well in the class. The funniest, studliest math teacher ever!

Never got an A in math until I took 1010 from Ben(his first name is Ralph and that's how it shows up on the registration page). Ben's teaching format is perfect for math: homework is harder than the tests, he gives practice tests which are harder than the actual tests, and he reviews past material every day and also before tests. Friendly too!

He always makes sure you fully understand and if you don't he'll work with you until you do. the homework does seem like a lot but it helps you understand and prepare you for the test. it's easy to pass if you do the homework and he explains everything in class so it helps to show up even though its not required

Best math teacher at UVU! He is hilarious and he really wants you to succeed in his class. Typical amount of homework for math, and he gives you all the tools to ace the tests. No quizzes.

Ben is amazing! He has made this class so fun, I hate math and this is my second time taking 1010 but I for sure passed and feel ready to take 1050. He is a really relaxed teacher even plays guitar in class, definatly recommend he will help you get ready for 1050 and make 1010 bearable. Attendance helps alot he gives lots of test questions away.

Ben was a great teacher, but AVOID taking this class. Avoid any class that uses the online "MY MATH LAB" it is a terrible program. Home work took 3 and 4 times longer than just doing the homework on paper. Also Ben required 2 hours per week in the math lab or spent with the a tutor. Avoid this class But I would defiantly take a class for Ben

Ben is one funny guy which made class a lot more interesting. He applies math problems to real-life situations and movies(so helpful)!It wasn't an easy class, but Ben is ALWAYS willing to help and work with his students. My only complaint; he did miss up on problems during the last quarter of the semester but mistakes happen. Highly Recommended!!!!

I hated math. Couldn't do well at all. Ben made his class SO MUCH FUN!!!!!! I looked forward every day to go to his class. I learned a lot and was able to pass with a good grade. I worked very hard but it was worth it. Homework could be either, mathlab or paper. TAKE IT FROM HIM!

Explains things in all ways possible. Makes sure everyone understands. Practice test with answer keys. Actual tests harder than practice tests. Avg test time 2 hrs. HW about 20 Q's odd per Ch. Very willing to help & work w/students. Quotes movies & sings to help remember things. Nerdy, funny, entertaining guy. HIGHLY recommended.

Prof. Moulton is VERY fair! I am taking his online Math1010 course. He answers every question I ask. Online you use the MyMathLab which is GREAT! I would definitely recommend him! I have never met this professor before but he is definitely one of my favorites. I haven't used the text book once, but you need it for the MyMathLab CD inside. Take him!

In my opinion, Ben is an awesome teacher! He explains things very well, and he makes class fun to come to. His homework is easy, and if you study for the tests then you should do just fine in his class. :) (He also occasionally sings songs where he's changed the lyrics into math related material)

Ben is awesome!!! I took his class this year and he made math so easy. Typically I hate math but he made it fun and understandable. He did his best to make sure every student understood what they were doing. Aslo, he created sample test that help so much with the regular tests. Highly recommend him. He is funny, awesome, helpful, and patient.

Best teacher ever!!!! He emails class notes, sample exams...if you study the sample exam you will do WELL on the tests....very funny, relaxed teacher, stops and asks frequently if everyone is okay with the material.

i hate math but BEn made math tolerable for me. He has a really clear way of teaching hard concepts and is willing to explain it in a different way if you dont understand it. his tests can be challenging but the study guide helps. he also breaks out into random song or cheers to help you remember.

Not a huge fan of math, but regardless of skill, Ben knows how to explain it to any level of learner. I recently was tested for upper math classes and was given problems from the material in Math 1010, and was able to successfully complete the test. He is the most helpful professor I have ever had, and dedicated to students' ability to learn.

Brilliant. He made sure everyone understood. I loved how he gave practice tests and a practice final so we could review. Homework helped out tons. Not too much, just right. And he brought in a guitar or harmonica sometimes to help in lessons. Awesome guy. A guy who loves his job.

I took him the 2nd summer block, so everything was super fast and condensed. But that said, Ben works really hard to make sure his students succeed. He has study guides for each test and notes from each chapter online. He is also a super generous grader on tests. If you hate math, like I do, take Ben!!!

This is the 3rd time I've had to take math1010. I never go to class and I'm terrible at math. Ben is AMAZING! Even if you don't always go to class it's super easy to catch up. Not too much homework. Also if you study with the review he gives you for all the tests you'll do fine. The tests are almost exactly like the study examine

I have never been a fan of math, but this semester, Math was my favorite class! Ben is such a great teacher and the way he teaches it is so clear. I passed all of the exams with 'A' grades because we go over all of the types of questions there would be on the tests. Ben sang songs to help us memorize formulas and has a great love for his job!

Pretty easy class. I do recommend taking math in person if math is a struggle for you. All the math online uses the online textbook. He has no real teaching aides. He does answer questions promptly and actively seeks for feedback. I feel the online course is not a good assessment of a teachers ability to teach.

Loved taking this math class from him! The program we used explains things well and he answers any emails quickly. Do the assignments on time, do the chapter reviews to study and you will do just fine on the exams. I thought online math would be terrible, but I was able to understand and get homework and exams done no problem. Highly recommended!!

Didn't use a textbook. He loves math, which is great. Extreme,y enthusiastic about teaching, and very very helpful when you get stuck. Strict on when assignments are due, but I like that it kept you from falling behind. He comes up with songs and rhymes to help you remember formulas, which are awesome!

By far the best Math teacher I've ever had!!! He keeps it simple, teaches to the test, and makes it easy to learn. He's almost always available either through class or through email. Definitely recommend this teacher!!! MyMathLab is required, but he limits the amount of homework, so you can actually have a life outside of school.

Ben (Ralph) Moulton is a pretty cool guy. I took his online Math class and loved it. He provides constant and consistent updates via email. He responds via email very quickly to any questions you may have. His homework is easy and his practice exams are very similar to the real exam so if you study those you'll do great on the actual exam.

Prof. Moulton not only knows his subject, but knows how to TEACH it so the student can understand. He gave tons of examples and used repetition to really cement the concepts for us.

Dr. Ben is one of the best professors I have ever had, he is helpful and would answer questions with a clear answer. There are only three tests and one exam, the lowest will be dropped. Before tests, there is a review sheet that will help you out. HOMEWORK is easy.

I couldn't pay the mymathlab fee and he printed off all of the homework for the semester and gave me more time to do it. I would recommend this professor to anyone!

Hands down best professor to build a math foundation with. A foundation with him will set you up for success in advanced mathematics. Incredible method of teaching, little amount of homework, tests are easy because he pushes you in class, genuinely cares about students. There is no reason why you won't get an A if you show up and try everyday!

Dr. Moulton is not only a math genius, but he is phenomenal at teaching it; he actually has his doctorates in education! Education and his history with mathematics plus the love of teaching makes this guy, hands down, the absolute best professor I've had out of my 2 1/2 years of college this far. Expect to be pushed, but love it at the same time!

I am sure taking Dr. Moulton's class online was what made it hard for me. Math is not a subject you should take online if you are not already pretty good at math. Dr. Moulton is a great teacher, he recorded videos to help us understand tougher chapters. The grading is tough as heck. I would not take it online, but I do recommend him as a professor.

Good professor he truly cares about his students. For some reason i was put into this class even though it was easy for me. I was always late to class and even texted me once asking me where i was since i hadn't shown up for a test yet. Long story short, he's good just don't interrupt his class. He has a bad temper if you show up then leave.

Such a good professor. He really cares that you learn the material and is always willing to help and let you make up assignments.

He's a really good teacher. Just a heads up, he's the only Math 1010 class that makes you do a final project. This was my least favorite part of the class, as the final project had nothing to do with the actual class. He also doesn't make the homework due, until the chapter tests (every 4-6 weeks), so beware if you're a procrastinator.

I have taken Ben, twice for math at UVU. He is an amazing professor and will try and figure out a way to make sure you pass. He does offer extra credit, it's doable but tough. His tests are usually harder than the Department Standard, but it so you understand the information. Attendance is mandatory as he grades you if you're there or not.

Prof. Moulton is one of the best math professors I have ever had. He genuinely wants you to pass AND learn. The homework is online and isn't due until the day of the exam, but 10/10 would recommend.

this guy is a hoot! he is funny, knows his stuff! don't buy the text book he doesn't use it. His tests are all multiple choice and he grades with a curve. makes learning fun. keep up on the homework he loves to relate math to real life. good professor.

Ben is like a one-man-band. He's an exceptional teacher who really cares about his students, who also happens to be really, really good at math. His explanations are thorough; he always shows all his work on the board; and he's very willing to work with students who are struggling. He was a great math teacher. He has a great pace where he doesn't move too fast but he is still able to cover all of the material needed. He does everything he can so that if you are willing to do the homework he will make sure that you do well in his class. If he taught 1050 I definitely would have taken him again.

Professor Moulton was amazing! As a hopeless math student Professor Moulton helped me pass! This was a retake, and I passed with Moulton. He drops the lowest test score, and usually allows a take home exam during the semester! He's really entertaining and he knows his stuff! One of the best professors at UVU! You are missing out if you skip on him.

He is a great professor. His strategies are amazing. You will understand everything in his class. He brings you exercises in class that make you feel prepare to do your homework. You need to work on your homework each day because can be your nightmare at the end. The test are always the same objective you have in class. I recommend him strongly.

Ben goes the extra mile to make sure you understand the context and how he did the work. Ben even comes up with analogies to remember formulas and rules. He does some work, explains, then has the class do the same and goes around to make sure everyone is getting it.

Great Professor, really wanted every student to succeed and pass the class!! If you didn't understand things, people were there to help whenever. Learned life long skills such as calculating loans and mortgages, but be prepared to use Pearson; there's a lot of homework. There were projects instead of tests (besides the final) which were all fun!

this is the first math class i have actually enjoyed. he makes sure you have all the means necessary to get help if needed. he posts videos walking you through problems, there is tutoring sessions posted. he is quick to respond to emails. assignments were actually fun. best math teacher ive ever had

Ben went out of his way to come up with jingles or songs or other ways of remembering concepts. He tried hard to answer all questions and help everyone understand.

Dr. Moulton was great. I know most students say this, but math has always been difficult for me. I took online so he sent out videos of himself doing the homework and they were extremely helpful. He also answered every single email I had in less than 24 hours. We also used Hawkes Learning which made learning the subjects a great experience!

He changed the way I look at Math. For every math class I'd ever taken, I'd go to tutors and spend hours each week on the homework, hoping to just pass it. If there is ANY math class offered that he teaches, take it from him. Make it clear you'll do your part and he does his to help you get the grade you want/deserve.

Professor Moulton is one of the best math teachers I have had, he is always available and tries to get back to you as soon as possible. I honestly learned so much from this class that is actually useful in the real world the projects were also very fun! I would 10/10 recommend this class!

Dr. Moulton is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He wants you to be successful and gives you all the resources to do so, including a class math mentor. I've never been more prepared for a final. If you don't like group work, not the class for you. Dr. Moulton made class fun but was also great at teaching the content. Go to class everyday!

Dr Moulton is great! He makes video lectures and homework videos in which he goes over the homework and how to do each problem. It is so easy to watch the videos while doing the assignments rather than really learning the material- which makes the midterm and final really hard. Group projects are not clearly communicated. He is super approachable!

Dr.Moulton is the second best math teacher I have ever had. I struggle with math and he was so easy to work with and provided me with help and advice whenever I needed it. Being a 6 credit online math course, it was amazing. Because of the high credits, get ready for lots and lots of homework and prepare for group projects! (They are easy)

Class is Hawkes Learning System based, so you just go through the modules during the semester. I requested to do the group projects solo, which he was understanding of and also allowed. He would answer my emails asap, no matter what time I reached out to him. I would just say I had to do a lot of the math learning on my own for an online course ofc

Math is very hard for me but the online program that is used makes it very helpful. This class is 6 credits so it's a lot of work and can be overwhelming but Professor Moulton makes it manageable.

He is really good at explaining difficult things and really cares about all of us.

Listen to me: If you think you are bad at math, take. this. class. I have failed almost every math class ive ever taken. But this class was different. Some highlights: -So much support in and out of class. -Math subjects that were relevant to real life, which made it easier to learn -Merciful grading procedures. Midterm and final are 25% of grade

Funniest and caring math teacher I ever taken (and I've taken math a couple of times) I finally passed math and it was with Professor Moulton! He takes his time explaining everything and had a TA to help as well. He loves to bring James Bond into his lessons. Made me like math.(Also I took his class back in Fall 2021 and finally leaving a review)

Professor Moulton makes this 6-credit math class manageable with his supportive teaching style. The online platform is helpful, and Unstuck AI proved useful for study prep. Worth taking if you struggle with math.

Ben was amazing! He's funny and shows in every way possible that he wants you to succeed. He has a class mentor who is someone who has taken and aced the course and understands the material just as well as he does. I enjoyed going to this class everyday because Ben created thins very welcoming and fun environment!

Prof. Moulton is the best professor I've had! He is so genuine and cares! He also has a math mentor that sits in with his class. Use the tutor! It helped me so much to meet with our math mentor and go over concepts that I wasn't understanding. Prof. Moulton also answers his students questions and makes an effort to help everyone feel comfortable!
