Have to hand in all homework, but if you miss some can hand in at end of semester. Gives you 13 examples, before the tests if you can perform them he says you will past the tests. This has been true for me and most of my classmates.

Wonderful teacher. Calm, and took the fear out of math. I did think his final was way hard, and way too long. Other than that he is wonderful

Mr. Rode was the best math teacher i have ever had. I am just starting M05 and I am very confident in the skills that he taught me in math. The tizzes are pretty easy and he tells you everything that will be on them ahead of time. He is AWESOME!

The BEST! Always asks you if you need help.Encourages students to ask questions.Tells you exactly what to study for the Tiz,no surprise questions.Goes over H/W the next day & asks students what they had trouble with.He shows concern for each student.I would definitely take another class w/ him.

His class is REALLY easy if you do your homework. He tells you everything that will be on the Tiz. I never studyed for this class but did my homework and passed with an A. But his final was REALLY hard, so do good from the start and you will be fine! Great teacher would totally take him again.

Excellent teacher. I had a really easy time. He gives weekly "tizzes," as opposed to periodic tests, and it really keeps the material manageable. Expect a couple of group projects. They were fairly easy, but the first one is a LOT of work, particularly if your group doesn't do anything. Easy to understand and very helpful and nice. Would take again

he is a awesome teacher. he is clear on everything and you really dont learn much at all, you really just relearn the basics and how to present them to elementary kids....tests are take home and there is no final! awesome guy!

Goes over any homework questions, and gives "tizzes" once a week. Nice guy and easy to talk to, and gives help with homework and tizzes, but you have to ask him for it.

Good class. Rode has very little personality so class is usually boring, but he's nice and willing to help with anything. He lets you use a calculator and tests aren't too hard. The only thing (besides lack of personality) I really didn't like was that he teaches class before the tests. If you need math M01 he's a good teacher.

I was worried about taking stats, but the way he presents everything makes it super easy! Tizzes help to ease the test taking stress and the lowest 2 are dropped. He offers tutoring time and is very helpful. A bit boring at times, but all around a great teacher. I would take from him again.

He is a really good teacher that helps you with anything you ask. The class is slow paced so everyone can get the material. And there are "tizzes" every monday instead of tests...which are easy if you study. There are two projects are doable. Take him, he will work with you on what you need.

Ben Rhode, is a Very great professor, he takes time to expalin the material, and goes over it many times to make sure everyone understands it, he gives a lot of group work oppertunity with different ways to understand the math, and Fun Assignements!! He ALWAYS has his door open for his students! He wants to see everyone successful, learn Math!

Not a big fan of math, especially graphing functions and logarithms.. but Prof. Rode really gets you through it... helps you understand the material. The "tizzes" are a good way to keep you in the mode. Didn't do hwk that often, but did all group work.. still got a B!

Mr. Rode is a great guy! He does tizzes, which is a combo of a test and a quiz. Their is a tiz every week which sometimes seems like a lot of studying, but it allows you not to ever get stressed out for a big midterm. We do group projects and their is a final, but the questions come right from the tiz. Take him!! Pretty easy A if you try!!

Difficult class, but he presents the material well. Not easy and a lot of work, but for a 5 unit class you expect as much. Would take him again. LOTS of group work, make SURE you get a good group or you'll be screwed.

The class was great. He does weekly Tizzes and you get credit for homework and in class groupwork. He lets you use some notes and formulas on tests. I'd recommend his class.

The best math teacher I've ever had. He grades fair and is very accommodating and understanding. Offers bonus questions and extra credit, and drops your lowest tiz score. This class was fun and easy, while being informative and lasting. Just show up and do the homework. Also, if you feel comfortable enough, take honors. It's only slightly harder.

had him for Elementary Algebra Parts A and B. (full year) and i learned more from him than any teacher i ever had. really laid back and wants you to pass. is willing to help in and out of class. will explain things over and over again until you get it. i am going to take intermediate algebra with him. that is how great he is. Highly recomend!

Mr.Rode is absolutely the best teacher I've ever had at Moorpark College. Very patient and kind.He gives you partial credit just for trying & grades easy. Take him and you won't be sorry. But dont take advantage of his easy going personality.

GREAT GUY! Very understanding and wants you to learn and soad everything in. He is available for extra help Monday-Thursday. There is a TEST/QUIZ, called a TIZ everyweek but its good because he drops the 2 lowest. DEF. RECOMEND!

He is so willing to help! Your grade is based off of: classwork, homeowrk, weekly "tizzes", and group projects. No extra credit. Attendance is mandatory for part of your grade, not that he takes attendance but there is class work he collects that day. He will go over problems until you get them. I really recommend this teacher!

He's laid back, the class is easy, gives a lot of partial credit, he needs to involve the class a bit more so it doesnt get too boring

Rode is the man! There are 3 projects, 1 of which is in-class. You have a "Tizz" every week, which is like a weekly test. You get to use cheat sheets. If you do the homework, you would have to be dumb not to get an A. Take him!

Mr. Rode (pronounced Rodee) is a great teacher. The tizzes he gives every week are helpful and clear. Sometimes classes tended to get a bit boring, but his laid back attitude was always appreciated. This was my second time taking this class (took it with a different teacher the first time) and with Rode I passed the class. He's the man!

Awesome prof! I had him for three semesters and he is very knowledgeable and understanding. It's okay to turn in HW a day late w/o being penalized and he gives a lot of partial credit on the 'tizzes' and final exam. The textbook we had in stats wasn't very good so I found myself using the math center from time to time for clarity.

I always thought I was stupid when it came to algebra. I took Rode's Math 1A and 1B and ended up with a 99.8% average in his class. I completely understand concepts that made no sense to me before. easy hw and weekly "Tizzes" that are not hard if you have done your hw. If you struggle with math, take Rode.

Professor Rode is one of the BEST math teaches I have ever had. He is extremely helpful and you learn from his lectures instead of reading the book..Absolutely take him. Daily hw and tizzes once a week..2 or 3 projects and a cumulative final.

His lectures can be a drag and his voice is monotonous, but the small quiz/tests every week are very fair and not too bad at all. He even drops your two lowest grades at the end of the semester. This class is not easy however, Professor Rode is an excellent teacher. He is dedicated to his students. He is easy to find in the Math center or his office hours. He goes over the problems clearly and until the questions are answered. Tests are very fair. He is a really great teacher.

Rode is the best! He accepts homework upto two days late, which gives you an opportunity to study for weekly tizzes. He lets you know which questions to study from each chapter for the tiz. He is always there for his students and does his best to the make material easy to understand. Two big group projects which can really improve your grade.

Show up to every class. Tizzes (weekly quizzes) are 1x weekly and he goes over every question from the prior days homework and tells you what will be on the Tizzes. Straight forward best most easy Math Professor at Moorpark College! If you want to learn math an easy way take this professor! Made math enjoyable for a boring subject!

Fantastic Professor. If you actually put the time, this class is fairly simple. Weekly Tiz's, he tells you what type of problem will be on the Tiz and on what page#. 2 Group projects, do your HW(it could boost your grade) show up to class. He answers all your questions. Never before have I had a math teacher who I loved so much. I have always been the type of student who struggled with this subject. But the way his class is set up, he makes it difficult for you to fail. Weekly quizzes (which he tells you before what problems will be on it), no midterm, 2 group projects, and a final. TAKE RODE!!

Extremely patient and kind. Does all he can to help you pass. Lots of HW, "tizzes" every week instead of cumulative tests. He made this class very doable. Do your HW, learn the calculator, come to lecture, and you'll do fine. If you struggle with Math or with anxiety, take stats with Mr. Rode!!!! He's the BEST.

I really like Mr. Rode he will help you out any way possible. He has office hours that he"ll help you out on or he's in the math lab twice a week. He wants you to do good. You won't regret taking him.

Although his voice is kinda monotone and seems a bit boring sometimes, you learn a lots and understand materials very well by just listening to that. I'll always want to take his class.

Rode is AMAZING! Cannot come more highly recommended!I have almost no background in math, & high anxiety. Math does not come easy to me, but Rode makes scary problems look less scary. He gives "Tizes" every week, which really helps the material stick. For the Final we can use the "cook Book" which are the formulas. Take him! You won't regret it!

Boring lecture? is there an "exciting way" to teach math? Prof Rode is one of those rare gems on this campus. He could not have been clearer as to expectation and material. If you go and do the work (c'mon guys, it's a math class) it's almost impossible to NOT get an A. He does a weekly tiz instead of a test or quiz which is great. TAKE HIM!

Im going to assume the comments below were both in same Honors Intro to Stats class. Yes, the lecture is super boring. First stats class I have ever taken in my life and I got a B. Just make sure to actually study the night before the tiz and you will succeed! Homework seems mediocre, but stay on it b/c its worth 10%!

Despite Statistics being a difficult class, Rode made everything very clear and, while his lectures were very boring, they were also helpful. He is more than willing to help his students out if they need further clarity, and getting a solid grade is fairly easy as long as you keep up with the (very minimal) homework.

Math is my worst enemy, and has been for as long as I can remember. Rode has shown me I can do it! He is amazing! BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Profesor Rode is such a good teacher! You do take tizzes(quizzes) every week, but if you study the material you will do great in his class. He gives out problems so u can work on that are kind of the same to the problems from the tizzes. There is group work too in class. But it is very helpful. Definitely take him! He is awesome!!
