He's the worst! DONT TAKE HIS CLASS!!! he is impossible. he is super boring and his test are absolutely impossible to make a good grade on.
If you come to class and do the study guide it's an easy A. Plenty of extra credit opportunities.
This professor is really funny. I liked him a lot. attendence sucks. But, he is a really cool guy. His tests are a sinch. He gives you a study guide! The person who commented on in tests that says they are hard....they just didn't study any of the material!
Decent prof, he can be a little boring at times but other than that it's pretty easy. Tests aren't hard at all, all comes straight from the book. Pretty laid back too, I'd take him again if I had the chance.
This teacher has pretty hard tests. If you take him you MUST study EVERYTHING for the EVERY test if you want to Pass. Nearly everyone failed the first test. I was lucky I got an 86. Class Avg was like a 45. Anyways there are 3 tests and a paper. He does give some extra credit in the form of quizzes. Overall if figure out his tests you'll do Okay.
Straightforward with what he expects!! Know the study guides he gives you and you will do fine on the tests! He tries really hard to make history as painless as possible! I would definately take him again!
Dr. Wynne was a great teacher. We covered a lot of material and he expected you to know the majority of it. You must study the study guide of terms he gives you to pass the test. There were a lot of A's in the class AND a lot of F's. He will tell you that you must study and it is true. Go to class. Do the extra credit.
TAKE THIS CLASS! He makes it so easy to make an A. Extra Credit quizes and papers are offered. Extra points for perfect attendance. Three tests, all with a study guide giving you the terms to know. Know the terms and youll do well. I made between 93-112 on all the tests. His sarcasm is fun and he shows cool films every now and then.
Boring/TERRIBLE teacher! You only have 3 tests throughout the semester so there's a lot of material on each test. I studied so hard for every test (took notes in class, made my own study guide, made flash cards, and recorded my study guide and listened to it over and over again) yet I still failed all tests and the class. DON'T TAKE HIM!!!
He gives you a study guide. As long as you know the terms, you will pass the test. I will take this professor again.
A lot of information in short perioed of time. Tests mostly different from material covered in lecture. Do not recommend taking his class.
Gives a study guide so its an easy A. Nice teacher. Class gets a little boring but its not unbearable. I would reccomend him
No Comments
only has 3 tests which means there is just to much material to study for. Expect a B and thats if you are an A student. He writes books on history so he teaches you stuff maybe not even in the book at all. Smart knowledgeable teacher but his tests are just to much. Every test in the class didnt have an average above a 50. sorry if you have him. you
Interesting teacher, but his test are difficult. Test consist of 5 essay ?s and 5 fill in the blank, and 15 multiple choice. You need to have good study habits and show up for class to make a good grade here...
He is very nice, and pretty funny. His class isn't too bad, a total of 3 tests the whole semester, which is a lot of studying but he gives you a study guide and a lot of time in between tests. He also gives bonus points. I would recommend this class.
Nice man. Boring Lecture but he gives you a study guide for tests (which is exactly on the test) not hard. i would reccomend
Just know all of the terms on the study guides. It may be a lot of terms, but it is better than not knowing what will be on the test at all. I used to hate history, but after taking Dr. Wynne, I really enjoy it.
He classes are not difficult, but they are also not easy. He makes the lectures interesting, but a lot of the test comes from the book. He will give you a study guide with about 100 terms to know for the test. It might look scary, but if you know the terms and pay attention in class then you will do fine. I would take him again.
Easy, gives a study guide before each test with every possible test question, all questions are straight forward and no essay questions, Easy A
One of the best professors I've ever had. He gives a study guide for each of the 3 tests that easily have 70+ terms on them. If you pay attention in class, it's easy to tell what will be on the test. He also offered plenty of extra credit to the class. Many people failed tests while others made 100+. I would certainly take him again, and plan on it
Gives lots of extra credit opportunities but you gotta study. Take good notes, define all the terms and you're set to get an A. It's a lot of definitions but they're pretty simple. No essays!
His class was easy as long as you do the study guide! I studied the terms for a few days and made A's on every test. The down side is he only gives 3 tests, so if you bomb one test your kinda screwed. He is a great teacher, I would highly recommend him!! HINT: Go to every class.
Such a great teacher! very witty and extremely nice. Doesn't single people out and loves to teach history, you can tell. Study guides have all of the test information and as long as you study them, you're golden. I definitely reccommend taking him!
Summer semester. Very EASY. I created flash cards to study from. Tests are simple if you study. Pay attention to where people are from & the wars they fought in, pretty straightforward. Loves his history and has a great sense of humor. You won't be disappointed!
Great tecaher! Turns history into an amaxing story. Make sure to take notes based on the study guide, and pay special attention to where events took place.
Easy, but he goes off on students if they question him. One student said they saw something different from what he said on the History Channel, and he went balistic on the studnet after class. If you just want to memorize what he says, it's an easy class.
OMG worst history class ive ever taken. he is so borin especially if you take an 8am you will fall asleep. also, if you dont pass the 3 tests he gives you , youll fail.
I had to drop this class after the first exam. I LOVE United States History and it was a shock to me that I got a 44 on the first exam. There are only three exams as grades for the full semester. I've heard great things about this professor, but his teaching style and my learning style couldn't be more opposite.
Very informative class w/ Dr. Wynne's ability to help you understand the concepts, as well as the people and events of early American history. Easy class if you take good notes and use the study guide effectively. I would recomend this class to anyone interested in American history to 1877. Study and don't memorize and you will pass.
He is such a boring teacher. If you tend to zone off in the middle of class, I recommend you to NOT take this class. I loved American History until I took this class. You have to memorize 100+ terms for one test, and not all of the terms are on the test. I do not recommend anyone to take this class.
Amazing teacher. Just come to class everyday, take good notes, and read and you'll do just fine. He really wants to help and make sure his students do well, so go to him if you're having trouble.
This Teacher Has A Great Sense Of Humor. His Class Follows A Semester Long PowerPoint And Reading The Textbook Is Up To You. He Gives Out Extra Credit And A Study Guide Full Of Terms You Need To Know, As Well As Terms Throughout The Textbook, Which You Find Yourself. Highly Recommend Him.
I started out weak in this class even though history has always been an easy subject for me. I was reading the book and taking notes, He gives 3 grades the entire semester, all tests, 1st one I made a 50. however I ended up getting an A. after I quit reading and decided to use flashcards. great guy, very helpful and funny :D
I think he was a very good teacher. He is very funny and he really knows what he is talking about. You take notes all semester and only have 3 grades, but if you come to class and study, you will do fine. I would recommend him
I LOVED Prof. Wynne as a teacher!! He is the most understanding teacher you will ever have. He is funny and easy going and he tries to get everyone involved. You MUST pay attention in this class however. I have to stress that because it is easy to slack off in his class because he is so laid back.
My favorite class thus far. Took him for both 2111 and 2112. Three tests, not cumulative. If you have perfect attendance, he gives extra credit. Also offers extra credit at the end. Study his slides and just pay attention. Makes history seem like a story
Easiest class ever! Just read power points and read the book before a test and you will make an A. A little hint is to memorize all the last names of people; he fill in the blank on those names. Only three tests and he gives extra credit quizzes!
I took the Summer trip to Tennessee for this class version. Very fun! Great alternative for those who hate sitting in a history class. Wynne is way cooler and less momotone outside the classroom. Pretty cheap trip too! It was the history elective at UNG, but it transfered to my new school as the main HIST. Time for another fun elective!
This class is lectures with a few History Channel videos. There are only three tests in the entire class and there are over 100 terms on each study guide from both the power point and the book. The layout of the tests did not even cover all of the study guide and he acts you abnormal questions. If you are very detailed oriented I would recommend.
I have always been a straight A student and I failed this class. History was always hard for me and this class was my worst nightmare. If you struggle with history do not take this class. There are only three tests which consists of 150 vocab words. It is impossible to remember that much information when it is ALL names and places.
He's pretty tough on attendance, you have up to 4 classes you can miss, after you exceed your 4th, he takes 10 points off your final grade. Lectures are long and boring, but he gives you a "study guide" which is list of all the terms you need to know. Only like half the terms are actually on the test. Tests aren't too bad. Just make flashcards!
He is awesome! I really looked forward going to class. There are 3 tests in the entire class so come to class, study, make flashcards and youll pass. Hes funny and makes history interesting!
Mr. Wynne is wonderful!! He engages you in the lesson and keeps the atmosphere light. He allows plenty of opportunity for extra credit, makes his study guides very clear and does not give trick questions. Highly recommend him! :)
He's very laid back, easy to slack and he want say anything! Only 3 test, and those are your 3 grades! The test aren't hard *MAKE FLASHCARDS ! That's the only way you'll remember 120 words!! Go to class!
Dr. Wynne is not easy, you absolutely have to attend class and read the book because he only goes over a portion of the study guide in his lectures, the rest is in the book. His test aren't hard but you have to study and make flashcards. Only 3 test but he does give extra credit quizzes and perfect attendance credit.
I wish I could type more! Awesome, funny, unsure of what he is looking for on a term ask and he will tell you exactly! Extra credit for not missing any classes! Made class enjoyable and would for sure take him again! Only 3 tests and grade for class is average of the 3. About 100 terms for each tests, all study guides available at beginning of sem!
Amazing teacher teacher, gives all study guides at the beginning of class, if you study you are guaranteed an A. Makes lectures funny and enjoyable. Would definitely take him again!
Wynne's class is a class I would definitely take again. He gives out three tests and multiple opportunities for extra credit. His tests are always in the same format. His study guides are a long list of terms, as long as you know the terms, you will be sure to pass. His tests are easier than expected, very simple questions. Expected to read. No hw!
He is a great professor and really knows his stuff. There were a couple of downfalls of this class for me 1. There are only 3 tests, if you fail one, you pretty much have to make B or above on the rest in order to pass 2. The study guide was not much help, he just lists all the terms-- it is up to you to weed out the terms you will need for tests
He is such a hard grader. His review sheets are 200 terms and tests are only 20 questions. If you do bad in the class he is NOT willing to help you at ALL and he is so mean about it! I studied for weeks and would still fail his tests. His classes are so long and boring because he talks so monotoned. He will make you hate History!
He is the best. I took a class called history of the blues and rock and roll and we went on a trip to Memphis and the Mississippi Delta. I highly recommend it and his book "In Tune." He is one of my favorite professors and definitely easy to talk to. I wish he taught more upper levels! Dr. Wynne, if you're reading this teach more upper levels!!!!
If you have perfect attendance he gives 5 extra credit points. 3 extra credit quizzes before each test (usually about a week or two before the test). Extra credit paper assignment also. 3 study guides available in the beginning. each with an insane amount of terms. If you know the terms its an easy A. Can pass with a C if you don't read.
He's a good professor, funny. Just make sure that you look up ALL the terms on your study guides and learn them. Quizlet was a huge help for me and I kept the study guides 2 and 3 up under "American History II." I failed his first test because I thought he would go over everything on it in class, but he didn't. Once I studied the terms I got 100s.
Great professor, fairly low maintenance class! He only gives 3 tests, but he gives a direct study guide of terms. Most of them can come straight off of notes, and the others can be looked up out of the book. He gives many extra credit opportunities (quizzes, attendance, essay) Just did some notecards a week before and got an A+
I love US history and so does Dr. Wynne, I am currently in his class and would recommend him. The study guides are the test, I haven't opened the textbook honestly. I got a 97 on the most recent test. KNOW THE WORDS ON THE STUDY GUIDE. A huge portion of your grade in the class are the tests so study the words and do great on the tests.
He only has 3 tests so make sure you STUDY and DO WELL ON THEM ALL!!! He does these extra credit quizzes that will add points to your grade, but you must get at least 4-5 right out of 5 or you get no points. All the tests are from the study guide. There are a LOT of terms but if you know them well you will do fine. Make a quizlet; it helps a LOT.
Heavy Lecture.
He seems a lot meaner than he actually is and a lot of things he's lenient on EXCEPT attendance. Go to class or he will drop you, if you show up 10 minutes late you are still counted absent. I'm almost done with the semester and still can't find the online PowerPoint. Only three tests, and you take quizzes to get points on your test but that's all.
He is a wonderful professor! He lectures the whole time off a powerpoint but if you just focus on the terms on the study guide, you will make an A. Lots of extra credit. Reading is a must because he doesn't teach all terms on study guide. Overall it was an easy class if you put the effort in. Take notes, read, and make flashcards and you'll be good
THERE ARE ONLY 3 TEST AND MULTIPLE EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES. HE PROVIDES STUDY GUIDES AND LECTURE POWERPOINT. I FILLED OUT MY NOTE CARDS AS HE LECTURED BECAUSE HE PROVIDES EXTRA INFORMATIVE DETAILS THAT ARE NOT ON THE POWERPOINT. I ALSO RECORDED HIS LECTURE AND READ THE BOOK.
I felt like his class was pretty easy. He gives quizzes for extra credit from the study guide. If you fail a quiz, it won't harm you. It's best to come to class for more detailed information, and he does take attendance! Doing the study guide helps a lot for his tests. It's all memorization. Although you still learn a lot as well.
This class was very lecture heavy, but he tries to make jokes and add videos in the long boring parts. He gives extra credit for each test, so as long as you pay attention in lecture and do the study guide you can pass this class.. He's very kind and has no problem answering questions. Attendance is mandatory . Highly Recommended.
He's a good prof. Each day is lecture, but its bearable. 3 tests, gives extra credit quizzes to add to test but that's the whole grade. His study guides correspond to his tests if you study maybe a week before the test. Tests are insanely straightforward but a lot of different vocab can be confusing. If you study and read a little you'll be fine.
Some students enjoyed the class, but it just wasn't for me. Your only grades are 3 tests, plus quizzes that only count as extra credit. I enjoyed the lecture, but having so few graded assignments resulted in having a failing grade and eventually dropping the class.
Gives a study guide that shows everything you need for each test. Every class is a lecture, if you miss more than 5 classes you lose points from your final grade. Though I personally never missed a class, Dr. Wynne is hilarious and a great professor. Willing to help whenever you need it. Will definitely take again.
We were given "study guides" that were 105 words each; half are in the lecture and the rest are in the book. There were 2 tests and a final. We were able to write an extra credit paper and take extra credit quizzes for up to 5 extra points each. If you can easily memorize words and recall information like names and cities, you'll do better than me.
Lecture heavy! Gives a study guide for all the test at the beginning of the semester with things you'll learn through lecture and a few you'll need to read to figure out. Gives extra credit through quizzes each test but you only have like 3 tests. Overall, a really really funny and great guy!! Tells interesting stories
You only get three tests for the entire year with almost no certainty for what to study from a massive study guide. You're basically playing Russian roulette with your studying.
his test are so hard. theres over 100 terms on each test. theres only three test. if you are not a test taker i wouldnt take him
Great professor!! I would definitely take again. He only gives 3 tests, and his tests are always in the same format. The quizzes will help your grade. This class is an easy A class
Ben is a wonderful guy he truly is, but his approach for his classes is very inefficient. You only get 3 major exams and 3 extra credit options that only give you 5 additional points on the next exam. With this approach you cant make mistakes, whats even worse is that his study guide is well over 100 terms/people and you only need like 40 specific.
Prof. Ben is a very laid back professor. 3 tests grade in the class. That is it. Nothing else comes into play. Tests are ridiculously easy if you at least study for a day. Easiest class I have ever taken. Attendance is "mandatory" but people have missed like 8 and are still in the class.
This professor was an extremely tough professor! I took him several years ago and all I remember was his exams were insanely hard! He would give you a study guide of like 100+ terms and you'd have to know just about every single one of them for the exams! There were 3 exams including the final and they were so hard to pass!
I've seen many people complain about his grading. He gives out only 3 tests and that's your whole grade. Quizlet become your best friend. He makes lecture as interesting as can be. He also gives opportunities for extra credit by quizzes which are almost always easy. Just read your book, listen in lecture, and study on Quizlet and you'll be good.
While is a fairly funny man his approach to how to teach is problematic because he sometimes gets sidetracked and all he does is provide a PowerPoint without notes. His study guides are long and his tests hardly have half of what the study guides provide. Not to mention he only gives you 30 mins per test which are your only grades in the class.
I do not understand a few of these negative comments... Yes there are only 3 or 4 tests but he gives you a study guide and all you have to is make a quizlet and learn the terms its an EASY A.
Dr. Ben is really nice and funny; he makes the lectures go by fast. The difficulty is that your grade is solely based off of 4 tests. The nice thing is there is no busywork and if you take the time to study for those tests a couple days before, you'll get an A in the class. He gives lots of opportunity for extra credit. Enjoyed this class!
If you are not a test taker, DONT TAKE HIM!! 4 tests, extra credit quizzes for each test. He gives a list of like 100 something words to study, but not everything in that list is on the powerpoints. So you need the text book. (get a pdf online). He’s nice tho and gave all the people who came to class today 2 points extra on our test!
Do not take this class if you are not willing to stay on top of things. This professors method does not reflect true teaching and is very problematic. This professor is very unprofessional and tries to appeal too much rather than teach. I took this class first semester of freshman year, and I had a bad grade because of a mistake I did not make.
He makes the lectures interesting, and connects its all organically. You only get 4 test grades, no homework or papers. He gives quizzes each section that you know about in advance. The quizzes are 5 questions long and you can net 5 bonus points. The tests come from the study guide. If you attend class, and do the study guides, you will get an A.
You are graded on 4 really tough exams he gives no other quizzes or homeworks to help your grade and does not give any extra work upon request to boost your grade he makes class semi interesting but overrall if you fail one exam you are not getting a good grade.
I enjoyed Prof. Wynne's class. The lectures were fun. If you come to class and read the book, it's an easy A. There were 3 tests and those are the only basis for the grades plus attendance. He gives few quizes for extra credit. Read the book and listen to the lectures and it'll be fine.
Only thing graded were exams but he gave a chance to get an extra 10 points per exam. Most of the time class ended early.
Great class! VERY easy tests if you actually study (does not take that much time to). Those who were struggling were the ones not studying because the exams are very straightforward to the study guide he hands out. He gives you many chances to earn up to 10 extra credit points on exams. Nice professor. I really recommend his class.
Personally, I didn't like this professor's method of teaching the course material. Overall, he's a really chill professor and he goes into great detail about the topics discussed. Very lecture heavy and are only graded on 4 tests (including the final). You're also given multiple opportunities to receive extra credit points via weekly quizzes.
Kind professor. His only grades are exams. Thats it. The quizzes you take are only for extra credit and that's ONLY if you answer 3 out of 5 questions correctly without misspellings. He gives you a study guide way before the exams, but it is your job to make sure you study. I withdrew because of how much you study. Study each section of study guide
He's an alright guy, but he is very old school. I say this because the only thing that makes up your whole grade are 4 tests. There's extra credit given through some quizzes but they don't help that much. He also lectures the whole time but you have to do more research to find more information for the tests. His class wasn't for me.
Take Professor Wynne!! Tests are so easy. Make a quizlet because the test is basically just terms. As long as you make a quizlet and study it like 2 days in advance you will make an easy 100 on the exams. There are quizzes but they are just extra credit that goes towards your exam so take it seriously!! It's made my grade go from 100 to 105.
He is an amazing professor who cares about the subject matter and is willing to sit down and discuss ways to improve. His lectures are information-heavy yet engaging. Overall, a fantastic professor!
Easy Class! He literally tells you exactly what you need to know and all you have to do is make a Quizlet and study. Do that and you will get a good grade in his class. Also, he gives you extra credit quizzes that help your test score.
Took his history of Rock and Roll class and was very worried with his reviews on here but he was a decent professor. Lots of reading as homework but as long as you show up to class and TAKE NOTES! you'll be fine. He only has a paper, 4 tests, and 4 song quizzes so not a lot of grades but if you show up, take notes, and study you'll do fine.
Great professor!!! He goes into great detail over the material he's lecturing about. You have to learn A BUNCH of terms for the extra credit quizzes and tests. But, as long as you study them you'll be just fine!
Great class with a straightforward grading system. Just stay on top of the study guides and quizzes, and you're guaranteed a solid grade. The professor's lectures are engaging too. I also found Unstuck AI really helpful for exam prep - saved me a ton of time!
