Does not prepare students for the exam, does not know how to teach, waits for students to fail first exam to actually teach.
All homework assignments are due before lecture. Lecture consists of going over (on average) one homework problem. Frequent in class quizzes and attendance "quizzes". Garbage study guides. He doesn't even TRY to teach. Avoid this professor at all costs!! I feel like I'm not getting anything from this class but stress.
Very bad at what he does. He does not prepare students for exam. He doesn't not take input from students. His teaching method is not practical, but rather it's over complected and stupid. I'd rather take the course online than with him.
He does not teach. Stay way from him. You will waste your money and time taking his class. He also gives random quizzes at the beginning of class.
He does not prepare you for test at all! The attendance quizzes and connect homework are the only ways to make 100s in his class. If you ever ask for help, he does nothing but say "I'll get back to you." STAY AWAY!
Class avg in his two ACCT 2200 classes was 50 at 1st test. More homework than any class I've ever taken in 3 yrs of college. Only goes over homework after you read the chapter, do homework, and take quiz almost every class. YOURSELF A FAVOR. STAY AWAY!
Tests are inconsistent. He is a young professor. Makes errors on large problems. Just maybe doesn't know the best way to teach the subject yet. Pop quizzes in class. Homework on lectures due BEFORE the lecture. Wouldn't take again. ACCT 2100 I had a 99 as a final grade... 2200 with him should not have been that major of a difference. Good luck
This is by far the worst professor I have ever had. Gives pop quizzes at the beginning of classes over material that he has not gone over yet. Very unhelpful and makes the tests extremely harder than the material given. Learned from my textbook because he was so unhelpful. DO NOT TAKE.
Very disorganized teacher, awful handwriting with constant mistakes due to that. Test questions are nothing like the questions/examples in class. Quizzes over material that was not covered yet. I would stay away at all cost.
As long as you are willing to put in the work to learn, Dr. Q is a great professor. He is clear in what he expects and is always willing to work with students. His class isn't necessarily easy, and he requires that students do some reading on their own. There are no surprises on his exams. His priority is that the students in his class learn.
Benedikt's class was the highlight of my college career. He is a must take and it was a really easy A. The class was really entertaining and you can choose to do a service project where you donate time to a nonprofit organization.
Dr. Q was the best teacher I have ever had at KSU. He might seem harsh at first but he really is a nice guy. Anyone that gives him a low rating is probably not interested in what he is teaching. He is extremely passionate about accounting and it shows in the way he teaches. I truly wish more of my teachers were like him.
Excellent professor! He really knew what he was teaching, and you can tell he really feels passionate about it! He was totally clear on the objectives and he stuck to them.
A lot of people didn't like him, but he was pretty aware of this fact. Tests are kind of hard, definitely study! He knows he makes mistakes and is fair about grading tests if it's his fault. He gives a little extra credit. Also posts practice problems on D2L, but have to go to class for the answers. HW every week and attendance grade.
I loved Dr. Q's class. He has received some harsh reviews in the past, but I think he is an excellent professor, and would have taken him again this semester for 2200 if his class was scheduled at a time that worked for me. Be ready to really prepare for this class. study hard and do the homework and listen to what he says and you'll be fine.
Go to class everyday, make sure you understand your material, and keep up with your online homework. That is the difference maker. Hard class in general though
Besides the tests being ridiculous and really hard he was just awful. I read reviews on him and thought they can't all be true and I like to challenge myself so I will stay in his class.... worst decision ever. This class made me hate myself.
The textbook is only necessary because it comes with the Connect website you use in the class; otherwise, you can pass the class on just the notes. He also posts all his powerpoints and quizzes online to study. Accounting IS hard, but he gives out a ridiculous amount of extra credit (take adv) and is always willing to answer your questions.
I took this class in the summer and it wasn't that bad. Class was kinda boring but it is hard to make accounting interesting. There was a lot of homework and extra credit assignments that were at times time consuming. There were 3 tests including the final and for all tests he allows you to use a formula sheet. Not a bad choice for a professor.
His exams are tough. 4 of them in all. If you want to do well, read the book, and then read it again and do all the practice problems in there. The best way to pass this class is to spend a lot of time practicing. Lots of homework that takes time if you want to do well. He will explain things through if you have a question though.
Most of the notes are online through the online textbook, and in class its mostly just review of notes you should already have read. He does in class practice assignments that are completion grade in order to take attendance. Tests are just bigger versions of the practice questions. Put in the effort and its not a hard class, most people dont try.
He is not an easy professor but if you put in the work and effort then you will find him very helpful. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and grades very fair.
Absolutely amazing professor. Pay attention in class and sit toward the front. Dont forget to ask question and visit office! Great lectures but make sure you do your homework and read the book.
This class in its own right was tough but he helps and provides many opportunities in ways that he can be reached. There is a lot of work involved in this class but it all helps you understand the material and pass the tests so the homework, study and meet with him if youve questions. He will help you.
Most of the assignments are through Connect (Online service), and three test the last of 3 being the final and the final can replace your lowest test grade. He's a great professor, teaching a somewhat difficult subject just pay attention, do all the connect assignments and ask question and you will pass.
4 test including the final which is cumulative. The Final can replace your lowest test grade. Accounting is not that easy of a subject, but he makes it entertaining and easy to understand. He will explain it as many times till you get it and if you still don't get it he is willing to help in his office. Do the ALL the extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Q is the kind of guy to smile in his mugshot if that makes sense. Reading is a must, and the videos that come with the eBook are sometimes more helpful than the professor. He gets a bit sidetracked sometimes - not off topic per se - but maybe adjacent to whatever we're supposed to be learning. Basically, read, go to class, and DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Best prof. I have ever had. Gives incredible lectures, makes sure everyone follows, a lot of applicable practice problems in class. BEWARE, his tests are tough, tricky vocab that if u don't read you wont know. I struggled in his class because of the tests, but I came out learning more in that class than any other. Caring, smart, wonderful teacher.
I would honestly avoid this class as an elective if possible. He changed the syllabus on us. In class assignments randomly, so do not miss class. There needs to be more structure, and we sit in silence a lot . Everyone must present a CPA question. I scored a low C when I thought I did well.
Do not bother to take this professor. The online simulations are difficult and have no relevance to the class. All tests are online and can be very time consuming. Does not round up final grades no matter how close they are. Overall more difficult and more work than other professors.
If you're seeing this, it's possible Professor Quosigk is reading this to you in class, so use this as a warning and add/drop while you still can. Lectures are confusing, blames his failures on the students, says he doesn't need to be a good professor and is okay with you retaking the class. Not in this to help you at all, get out while you can.
I did not want this professor, but had no option because there was nothing available. I wish I would have waited until next semester and tried for a different professor because the bad reviews on this man are true.
This is the best professor for accounting. he knows everything he teaches perfectly and there are no such things as dumb questions. the lectures are well put together so if u miss class youll be lost. he gives a good amount of hw but it helps you actually understand the material. all tests and exams are online and open book/ note.
Professor Quosigk is friendly, respectful, and insightful. You are expected to read outside of class and practice, honestly if you do that you don't even have to come to class because the online textbook goes everything you need, but he also explains everything in class very clearly. Online-Open Book Exams.
Accounting is very hard, but this prof. makes it a little easier. He is very clear during lectures, and will answer any question you have during the lecture. Gives LOTS of extra credit online during the semester. All tests (including the final) are online which is good and bad. Even though its online, still practice and study because they're hard!
He was a good professor even though he can come across as self- involved. I liked him a lot, did not show up to classes and still ended up with an A.
The course isn't easy, but Dr. Quosigk makes it fun (or at least as fun as governmental accounting can be). Just be sure to show up for class and do the homework and you'll be fine!
Great professor, but this class was the hardest class I have ever taken. He helps a lot when you have a question he will take the time to break your question down. There are three tests including the final and your final replaces your lowest test grade. Take notes and go to tutoring, you'll might struggle but you will be okay in the end.
A solid choice. However, this is still an extremely hard class, and it's meant to be. Definitely go to class. Does everything he can to help you understand the material and is kind and attentive. Provides external resources and directs you toward places to get extra help outside of class. Lots of homework (all online) but it's very helpful.
Professor was very rude. The online connect videos were a lot more helpful than he ever was. I would pick someone else if possible or wait until you can.
I could either earn an A or B in here depending on how well I do on the final!!! There is a lot of homework and assignments but trust me this teacher is the one to take! He wants his students to pass and succeed but he has you work for your grade which is fair. His lectures are worth going to, you can tell that he truly cares about the subject!!!
avoid him if you can. he knows the material well, but he teaches it at a level where he just expects you to already know it for an intro class. he does give a lot of bonus point opportunities. but, in his syllabus, he claims to drop lowest test grade, and only requires certain amounts of assignments, but he never did anything he said he would.
The stereotypical hard accounting professor. I didn't have too many issues with him until the end of the semester when he decided to use a lockdown browser with mandatory webcam for every single assignment (hw, quizzes and exams). He also failed nearly half the class because of a group chat. Even people who didn't participate failed. Horrible
The worst teacher I've EVER had. I went to his office and he started screaming at me because I didn't understand what was going on. The class avg was 40. When the university switched to an online format he got much worse. He would eat food during the lectures, never covered material on quiz, and was all over the place. Thank God KSU let me drop.
I took his class during the Fall semester of 2020, He offered both in person and asynchronous classes to fit into the schedule of students. He really makes an effort to make sure all students learn the material and provides plenty of examples during the lectures. I definitley recommend this professor for the intro accounting course.
I took him for government and not for profit accounting, this has been by far my favorite accounting course I have ever taken. His exams are really not that difficult, make sure you read the reading assignments before class. They're actually pretty interesting.
This man is the worst professor Ive ever had. He is so negative about everything. Some kids had went to him for help outside of class and he basically roasted the kids fo 45min for not understanding the material. Hes also very rude and doesnt care about you or your grades. Dont take him even if you have to just wait! I had him for Accounting 1.
Says he cares about his students yet when I went to him for help he criticized me and told me I was going to fail at the rate I was going at and I ended up learning nothing from a one on one with him. I would recommend looking for another professor. I'm shocked he has a 3.2/5 I would expect it to be lower.
Very negative, loves to yell at students when they dont understand something.
went way too fast for a full semester course, if you take this class, be prepared to spend most of your course load on this class
I took him for ACCT 2100 during the summer semester as a transient student. He was ready to answer all questions anyone had and never once seemed to reprimand any student for not grasping the concepts. He explained things patiently and used several real world examples to help us understand better. Just make sure you do your HW and its a breeze
A real gem of a professor. Wish more were like him. He is fantastic at keeping the energy up in the room and kept me engaged the whole semester. The ppts were very in depth and really helped. Save a copy of them and then write on them for your notes. Overall, he is a fantastic teacher and really helped me understand accounting. :)
Does not give clear instructions, is not available outside of class, does not answer questions, brags about how his class is the 2nd most failed at KSU, only uses powerpoints, does not have the grade book set up correctly.
It isnt the easiest course but when you study & practice the class becomes easy. the professor is super relaxed and is super good at helping you understand
Accounting overall can be a challenge and I struggled at first by failing the first two quizzes badly. However, if you apply yourself to think critically and really dissect the questions that accounting asks, then you will be fine. That is what helped me. Other than that, the review sessions are helpful but DON'T SKIP CLASS.
Proffesor Q was a great teacher. Accounting can be a really hard topic but he helped me by dissecting and teaching each individual part of the class. If you go to class and pay attention it was very easy to learn the material!
Professor likes to brag about 40% of students dropping/failing. I am a private teacher, as well. If 40% of my students were to fail, I wouldn't stay in business. Same rule should apply in the public and private sector. If 40% of my students are failing, maybe that says something about my teaching. Who knows?
He doesnt give students a chance to submit late work when he could just deduct some points. Even though youre sick, youre not excused. I suggest NOT to take his class unless its your LAST OPTION!
He is a decent teacher. The class is a little hard but you just have to go to class every day. If you don't go to class every day, then you probably won't do well in this class.
He is a fantastic professor. He is engaging and has great energy. If you do the HW and keep up with assignments, you will be very successful. Accounting at KSU is allegedly very difficult, but that is less a reflection of the course/professor and more of the students. This is not an easy A. It requires more thought than SOME classes, but not hard.
Professor Quosigk makes students feel dumb for asking questions in class, does not help in one on ones with students, and brags about how students consistently fail his course. Do NOT take Professor Quosigk, even if you have to, please just wait until another semester. I am not sure how he has as high of a "would take again" rating as he does.
This professor was very good when it comes to teaching accounting, he knew his stuff and was very efficient when it came to going over PowerPoints. I also appreciated how he would have discussions with the students during class!
This class by itself is hard but he helps you along the way. His quizzes are lockdown with camera so you have to study every chapter but the studying pays off for his exams. There is 2 test and a project that are hard if you don't study. He gave our class extra credit and also rounded my final grade from a high B to an A.
The class isnt hard, but its going to require mostly outside learning on your own. He brags about his class being a 40% fail rate. He briefly goes through slides, and often gets off task and rambles. Quizzes are online and proctored with webcam, and exams are in person. Assignments due in McGraw Hill. I wouldnt recommend taking him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Witnessed this man jump over a desk, He is extremely knowledgeable and gives amazing lectures with room for questions and discussions. However, he does not teach to the test, must be able to understand the concepts and then apply it to the test in a new way.
Professor Quosigk runs a solid class. He does a good job teaching and his tests are manageable. I didn't do great on any of his tests but because of all the Connect modules and extra credit, I was able to get an A. If you are not good at keeping up with online assignments I would not suggest this class. Each week there are 4 assignments. Good Class
Great professor. Really good lectures make things easier to understand, and he relates it to real world stuff. He's always open to questions and will explain things more. I'd take him for every class I could. The workload isn't too hard, just takes 2-3 hours a week to do the homeworks. He dropped the lowest few at the end of the semester.
Failed the class bc a groupme even if you were not participating in the texts. He made everyone take the final before failing them. I made an A+ & he failed me even though I aced every proctored exam and did not take part in the groupme. Also made you zoom him & tried his best to humiliate you for failing. awful ego & brags about students failing.
The class was extremely difficult especially if you don't pay attention. He was a very nice professor and loved his job and to help, however his lectures were so hard to pay attention to. It was also a lot of hard assignments each week.
Professor Quosigk made ACCT 2101 so straight forward, and broke down the material in a clear way. He's very patient with his students, doesn't mind going back over something, was willing to negotiate test dates, has a dry sense of humor, is clear in his lectures, and gives extra credit. All in all, I'd definitely recommend taking him.
This professor is unwilling to work with students about test dates, due dates, and making up any missed material. All of his homework assignments are through McGraw Hill and are very difficult and time consuming. His exams are all proctored and taken in person in a computer lab. They are also through McGraw Hill. 0/10 would avoid him at all costs
He doesn't allow any flexibility and brags about his extremely low pass rate. Every assignment is online, as are tests in person, but online with a webcam. Lectures are heavy, and a lot of them do not correlate with the tests at all. I would not recommend it if you are trying to get a very good grade in this class.
He was a really good professor, made it very easy to understand, and if you did the test reviews it would make the test a lot easier. I would recommend taking his class as he makes accounting easy to understand. Test are in person but if u do the reviews you should do well. A good amount of assignments but they are pretty short.
Ok, here the thing, the class is hard. Any Accounting class is gonna be hard, no matter which professor. If you are not good with math, that is ok. this proffesor goes pretty fast ngl, so I would recommend listening in class then after, go through the powerpoints he uploads.
Professor Quosigk offered no help on questions or any leniency on anything even if it was something I didn't understand. I came to him with questions, and all he could offer was a single sentence response that addressed nothing I wanted to know. I ended up getting a Knack tutor who taught me the course well. Don't take him if you haven't taken ACCT
You get what you put in. If you want to learn more about accounting and try to get your grade up than ask him the right questions and he'll give you the right answer. About 4 assignments every week. If you stay on top of your work and put in 75% effort you will make a B. He has practice tests posted close to exams. Easy quiz every week.
I strongly believe this guy has tenure. First day of lecture and he's bragging about his massive fail rate and telling us to look to the people to our right and left because someone next to you will fail. I'm sure this man is extremely knowledgeable, and I can only speak to my experience from this 1 class, but I dropped immediately
Was the worst my whole time at Kennesaw. Had a 3.9 and this was the literal only class I had issues with. He's cocky and youre not able to have a conversation with him. Our meeting was getting made fun of for about 20 minutes. Brags about how he is tenured at the school and is essentially untouchable, also bragged about his super low pass rate.
Out of my 3 years at KSU, this is by far the worst professor I've had. If you're considering him for ACCT, take this as your warning and RUN! He is very knowledgeable but seems to not be able to share his knowledge. There are 4 exams and a final and they are online with live proctoring (same for all ACCT classes.) Save yourself from stress !
Professor Quosigk is an amazing professor. I have never been one to get A's but he gave a stern talk in the first lecture. He told us to look at the people to the left and right and then said "one of you will fail this class". At that point I was determined to succeed. He DOES want you to succeed and it shows. REALLY tough class though..
Not really that bad. I don't know how this will change in the future, but all of his tests were done through McGraw hill and they provided exam reviews that were pretty much a copy and paste to the final. His lectures are really boring and the project he has you do is tedious, but overall, not that bad.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS AT ALL COST!!! If you want your accounting class to be even more difficult then it has to be then take this class! Teacher isn't very good at teaching, doesn't provide help when he is very capable of helping, and has a very big ego and flexes how difficult his class is.
He's a great professor! He explained clearly on the first day that it wouldn't be an easy class so everyone knew what they were in for. There are 4ish assignments due on Sundays. Attendance isn't daily but random. If you genuinely try and put effort in this class, you'll pass. He'd answer any questions and make sure we understood before moving on.
Excellent professor, he explains topics so well and gives sooo manyyy extra credit opportunities. Great professor!
