She is easy to understand for the most part. But prepare to work your butt off! The papers aren't hard.She just assigns a ton of papers!! She follows the syllabus, but she's not always on schedule, so we had to play catch-up toward end of the semester.

Ms.Reed is perhaps the greatest English teacher I've ever taken it was an honor to be in class. I had fun and she practicaly gives you the test the way she walks you through it, it was an easy A and I wish I could take it again.

EASY A! Ebonics? Because she's black? Very nice Lady. She doesn't care about "style", just write it correctly! It's NOT Creative Writing, it's COMPOSITION! Hint: It's better to keep your sentences simple than trying to elaborate. The less you write, the less it'll hurt your grade. Keep it simple & to the point! Think 4th grade level sentences!

Excellent Teacher...extremely tough, but you WILL learn. I never worked so hard in my life, but what I learned was amazing. I ended up with A, so it IS possible. We knew exactly what to expect. Workload was not unreasonable. Highly recommeded.

Very demanding, but one of the best teachers I ever had. I worked my *** off, but ended up with an A. She let us know exactly what she wanted, and was fair. But you needed to know how to follow directions, use MLA format and think "outside the box". Wonderful teacher,...for those who really want to learn! I would take her again.

Excellent teacher. She knows her stuff! There is much work in this class, but you are spaced out enough to get it done and not be overwhelmed. The only thing I didn't like was the chosen topics. I prefer to write on things I know, but this was enlightening. Her practices and methods are right on key. Many think she is tough,just do your work!

I made grades all across the board in that class, As, Bs, and Cs.. ended with a B. There was a lot of work, but Mrs. Reed was great to help with everything. You definitely use both books a LOT! She's a great instructor, and quite humorous too. My only struggles in that class were faults of my own.

Ms. Reed is extremely helpful, I don't understand why everyone is giving her such a bad rating. Her papers are easy and she lets you revise them. The comments made on the papers are helpful. I would definitely recommend taking her.

Professor Reed was a great teacher. I hated English, I couldnt even write a paper to save my life. I still passed with a B. She was great take her.

She gives students every opportunity to complete work and make it better. She is up front about how she grades and what she is looking for. There are no surprises. She does ask that homework be done and takes it up at quiz time; however, she may not grade it as normal. She may only give extra credit points for it instead. Great Teacher!!!

I have taken both 1301 and 1302 with her. She is great. She is like any other adult, she does have to be gone sometimes, but it's never been an issue.She requires much less work than other professors. I will take her for my lit class as well. Take her if you can! :)

Mrs. Reed is a very good teacher. you have to read and take notes because it is a very interactive course, if you comment on what is being said she will give you extra points on a quiz, but you need to come to class. she is late sometimes but she is still a good teacher take her its not hard unless your just lazy

I took Mrs.Reed last semester and she was great...If you need help all you have to do is ask her and she pratically does the essays for you..You turn it in and she writes on there the revisions she wants you to make, you correct it then turn it bck in..Easy A! I passed her class with a high A...I wasn't a teacher pet I just simply did all my wrk..!

Absolutely loved this professor, very caring and knowledgeable, made the class worthwhile. The test are easy if you study, if not you are in trouble. She is a true professional in every sense. Take her if you get the chance, she is simply the best.

I took her online class recently, she was very helpful as long as you kept up with her assignments. Sometimes we would have to correct her on little things. If you do the work you'll pass.

She is a character to say the least, with joyful banter and witty retorts with her students. This made the class fun with out a doubt, and as teaching goes; she helped me allot with grammar(my academic kryptonite) and all though its something that i am still working on, i have her to thank. I have learned much from her, and recommend taking her.

Very good teacher. But she did take a long time to put up grades because of a new gradebook system which TCC purchased but wouldnt purchase the training in how to use it. It was a really hard class for me, but I was an extremely bad writer before hand. I had to spend hours upon hours writing my essays, but I have become a much better writer now! :)

I quess its extremely frustrating to take online classes and to add to that , have a professor not be available for your emails or your phone calls when needed. I strongly believe that online professors should be easily accessible to their students taking their courses. She was a little slower than others at grading assignments too.

I took Eng 1301 and 1302 with Professor Reed and received a B+ in both classes. She is a college professor who expects the most out of her students. Come to class and do the homework. There are no test in her classes! She is a late at grading assignments at times, however she is available to meet with outside of class.

I took the class on-line. She was very fair in her grading, extremely helpful.

If you want to learn English take Professor Reed. She facilitates success for those who want to learn. Those who flounder do so in spite of her willingness to help.

No tests. No quizzes. Rules for writers book is all you need. She makes sure you gets it. Doesn't mind reiterating information. Does not like to be interrupted (who does) very polite and very accommodating if you just talk with her. Super nice and really wants you to understand her.

Professor Reed is definitely there for the students. She goes the extra mile and will extend due dates to help students pass! I am taking her again this fall for English Comp 2! Love her!

Professor Reed is very helpful, her class was easy, and she interacted a lot with her students. Her personality is what makes her great. All you need is the "rules for writers" book for assignments and its fairly easy. She is very reasonable and extends due dates if needed. I highly recommend her for in-seat classes.

I took an online course. Some of the assignments were not clear, but if you ask for help understanding, you will definitely get answers. She was great at responding to my emails in a timely manner, and even phoned me a couple of times when I requested more help. She seems like a wonderful lady, and I am very appreciative of her.

This teacher definitely makes you work for your grade but it is easy. I am by no means a perfect student but as long as you come to class and participate online you will be fine. The class only meets one day a week and on computer the 2nd day of class. Makes life much easier.

Great teacher who is very good at teaching and getting the point across. Her lectures are fun and informative and you will come out of the class being a way better writer. Great instructor, clear instructions and easy contact. I would take her class again. She does expect you to participate and get your assignments in on time. The course is not hard, reading and quizzes for each assignment, but not hard if you read your assignments.

I initially took this professor for my English Comp I 1301 Class:You'll learn a lot! I am terrible at English, but I learned so much because of her! She works diligently with you and she makes sure that you reach your full potential. She actually cares about your success and will make sure you strive! Such an amazing teacher, she'll work with you with whatever it is you need help with. Many people retake her for English Comp II, however, believe me. I am terrible at English and worked 40 hours a week and am, also a full-time student, she is VERY fair to everyone. And she's,also a major believer in extra credit, she'll recompense you.

Love her! she is so funny in class and understands that you have a life outside of school. She plans essay due dates based on the classes responses and she grades fair. She will make sure you pass with at least a C if you show her that you actually care and want to pass.

She will help you in any way she can, just do not skip out on the homework she gives you. She posts EVERYTHING you did that day in the announcements for your convenience every class period. I have honestly never been a good writer, but she makes sure you excel. Guys I am not lying, please believe me when I say she is a great person!

Show up to class, keep up with the deadlines and you'll be fine. Essay heavy but you write them in class and she has a very clear agenda on how to write them. Great professor 10/10 recommend unless you're lazy and don't do you're work. Last assignments are not accepted but it's an easy class.

She gives really good feedback on essays, so that you wont make the same mistakes. She is very passionate about English. If you put in the effort and follow her instructions verbatim you will get an A. This class was an easy A for me.

You will get an easy A in her class if you do the work. She takes her time to look over your essay. She makes sure that you understand the instructions for the essay. Put forth the effort and participate. Gives good positive feedback to let you know that you are on track and answers emails in a timely manner if you have a question about the syllabus or lesson assignment.

Professor Reed was great. During the 8 weeks I had several random emergencies. She was very sympathetic and allowed me to make up assignments that I missed for full credit. Which saved my GPA that Ive worked hard for. Fairly good communication. Mainly discussion boards and papers with a few side assignments and moderate reading.

Dr. Reed is cool, just different. Best way I can describe her class is "restricted creative freedom", few set guidelines, doesn't baby her students. A LOT of reading, just don't let yourself get behind. I hate English, but this class wasn't horrible. She always told me "English loves you" and I would always respond "I bet it does".

The reviews here are dragging it badlyyy. Professor Reed is a great teacher. There are many assignments, but she breaks everything down in manageable portions and walks through each assignment with you, so it's not impossible to do. As for grading, she uses proofreader's marks, but she also has a key to reading them. Stay on top of your work though

This class was very focused on real-world situations, and her assignments would be adjusted many times in class. After class, she sends out an email outlining what happened in class and the HW. Her feedback was quite vague, but she was willing to work with you when you need it. Really hard to reach through email or canvas, but in class is good.

She's an extremely harsh grader. She also doesn't accept late work and was very late to grade/update stuff on canvas.
