A very nice and funny guy, but he puts the regular calculus course on a level that is indicative of engineering level calculus. For those majoring in engineering then by all means take him; but for those majoring in something else, look elsewhere.
I’m taking his Collage Algebra class now. Do not take this guy. He rambles on and leaves you in the dark. This class sure makes a good study hall. I’m going to stay here until the drop date for insurance reasons :) He lost me on the first day
Very good instructor if you pay attention. If you go to class and pay attention it is an easy A but if you want a free grade don't even try. He makes class very easy if you follow instructions well.
One of the best Math professors at Wharton. Getting an A grade is not a big deal but all you have to do is to be regular and follow his instructions. He's very cooperative and very good at grading. Earning extra credits is no problem cos he gives extra point for every little extra work you do.
this teacher right here is funny as hell and he gives anybody a chance to pass if you try.
Not the best at explaining everything and class can get boring at times but he gives a bunch of extra credit and the take home test helped everyone. If your having trouble he really tries to help you understand.
I DIDN'T LIKE HIM
Mr. Brink is awesome. He gives lots of opportunities for extra credit & he helps you out whenever you need it.
This man tells a lot of stories, which is funny but also takes a lot of time. Sometimes he doesn't get through the whole lesson. If you need help he is always there for you.
Very good class if you are dedicated to your school work. Attendance helps a lot so that yu learn the material which is spoon fedd pretty much if you are there. Would take him again any day.
This teacher is hilarious! He jokes about everything. He takes everyones opinion into consideration. Someone once suggested a take home test so he took a class vote. He gives credit on test even if your answer is wrong, as long as you show work. For me it was an easy A. Definately Recommend!
Good Guy,I got an A in calculus, he is funny and always very helpful and he will listen and understand if somethings up
I loved this professor! Class was so easy to me. Easy A. He gives so much extra credit and he always cares about his students doing well. He will always try to help you. I definately recommend for all Math courses. Would take him again any day.
Best Math teacher in WCJC. very easy, very explanatory, easy A.take him and all ur math problems would be solved.
I took him for all 4 of my math classes @ WCJC, very easy teacher, sometimes a bit quirky, but nevertheless very helpful...yes, he is the easiest math teacher you will ever have.
Doesn't teach everything in class because he tells funny stories, but will help you after class if you need it. Very, very nice. Gives lots of chances for extra credit and daily grades. I got an A. I would take him again.

Do not take anyone else than Mr. Brinks for any math course that you need to take. He is the easiest person to understand and he is really cool
Easy and very helpful, but you need to be in class everyday to get points.Gives you points for any little thing. Great teacher,I will take again.
He's really helpful and gives great analogies I never understand his class though, so I have to read the book. He strays off topic which really confuses me. But he is very WILLING to help. Most people think they will fail and drop the class but in the ending he surprises you when you think you have an F and you get a B (or an A)
made an A in all his math classes but made a mistake and didnt take him for finite math and ended up getting a B with another professor
I took his class and it was actually not that bad. Sometimes he might talks something crazy but it was very funny. He does a big curve at the end so you don't really have to worry about failing (only if you know some of the math of course) I only took 1 in-class test and 1 take home test. Got and A in his class and gonna take his another class.
He's a very good teacher. He's very helpful and cares about his students. He actually bothers to learn your name! I'm taking him again for calculus.
I LIKED THIS TEACHER. HE WOULD ALWAYS HELP AS LONG AS YOU ASKED. YES, IT IS TRUE HE COULD BE HARD, BUT MATH IS HARD. ALSO, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IN HIS CLASS IS SHOW UP, PAY ATTENTION, DO THE H.W., & YOU SHOULD BE FINE.
The good thing about Brink is that if you go to class and do the daily problems and turn in the homeworks you are most likely going to get an A or B in his class. However, it is hard to learn in this class as he doesn't really teach. I would feel unprepared going into another stats class if I needed to after taking his class.
one of the craziest characters i have ever encountered. Seemingly has an anology for everything. Real funny guy and ACTUALLY manages to make math sorta fun. gets coffee during tests, you can cheat your whole way through. Also he manages to skribble all over the board to do one problem. if ur lookin to get an easy A in math get mister BRINK!
My first impression of him was...WHOA! LOL! I didn't know what to think! He was all over the place! But after a couple of weeks...I loved him! He comes up w/ medifors that REALLY make you think and laugh. He is kinda messy and I really don't like that because I like things organized but his class is easy though. Just be prepared for the coffee fan
Brink is awesome! He might not look it, but I love the way he teaches. I took him in the summer and I made a B. Just do what's expected of you and you'll make an A. He gives daily quizzes, but u get to use ur book and notes. I truly recomend him!
Helps you in anyway he can.
mr. brink is a great teacher, when i first got into his class i thought it would be hard... but he was so easy. he walks out of the class alot during the test for a good 10 mins. he gives out take home tests that are easy! he is willing to help you at any time and he loves to give extra credit if you are not doing so well. his test are only 10% of
Hes one of the greatest techaers ever. He cracks jokes sometimes in class, about his teaching being alot easier then rocket science. Which is true, If you do the homework, be attentive, he'll do his best to pass you with whatever you have. I personally thought his class was very easy....and hes just a cool teacher to take, I highly recommended him.
he will pass you as long as you try. he is very basic and will make sure things are clear to you. very funny too
Cool teacher. He is very helpful. Each day he will put a math problem on the board and its for like extra points. even if you dont get the answer right he will give you points for trying. Do all the work and you should get an A
Very helpful and really wants to make sure you understand everything. I highly recommend him if Math is not the easiest for you. and he's says the funniest things.
Mr. Brink is a funny guy and gives life analogies about math. He understands students and will adjust to the class' needs. If you do the daily and homework and get decent test grades you will get a good grade. Great proffesor.
I LOVED HIM! College Algebra was like a sport in his class! He was FUNNY and always had chalk on his pants, shirt, and face! You get points for turning in everything, even if it isn't completed. I got an A in his class and reccomend him to all!!!!!!
Best math teacher ive ever takin throught my collage carrier he is very helpfull and the best thing he dosn't count absences
This is teacher is awesome. I am terrible at math, not to mention Statistics and he really helped me through the year and I ended up getting an A. Just make sure to do all the homework and bring your book to class. ASK QUESTIONS and he'll love you for that! Although he is everyone on the chalkboard, just try and pay attention and you'll get it.
Mr. Brinks is a good teacher. I ended up having to have surgery and missed quite a few classes, so when I came back, I was totally lost. He understood and told me to do the best that I could, even though I had NO clue what was going on. In the end, I ended up getting a C, which I told him I at least needed! He is very understanding and works with y
He is such a good teacher! He's kinda weird in a really funny way and I'm taking him next semester! Just go to class, bring your book every time, do your homework, and you'll do great!! Don't be like some people in my class who left early a lot..they didn't do so well.
atleast go to class and do the daily problem, all the homework, and pass two of the three test...he's a lil weird, but a good guy and very helpful.
This dude is hilarious. He teaches you well, and you can do just fine as long as you go to class, and keep up with the homework. His test he gives you so much partial credit, but it makes sure you know what you're doing. Highly recommended
Extremely smart individual. Do the homework, do the problems he tells you to do, pass his exams. Always leaves times for questions. Very understanding. Hilarious. The best CALCULUS 3 professor you can take, hands down.
This is an awesome teacher. This teacher makes you feel at home in his classes. he is very helpful and if you work hard you are bound for an A. Do your homework, extra credit, daily. never miss a class because your daily will suffer. You will never meet a teacher so good. Highly recommended and please remember to sign in. his classes feel up fast.
This is an awesome teacher. This teacher makes you feel at home in his classes. he is very helpful and if you work hard you are bound for an A. suffer. You will never meet a teacher so good. Highly recommended and please remember to sign in. his classes feel up fast.
Very interesting individual..he knows what hes teaching..i highly recommend him to anyone! u always use the book..the whole course is extreme;y easy until the finals..i got an A+!
an amazing teacher! he teaches very fast though so take good notes!!!
Mr. Brink is hilarious. He difinately makes class interesting. His teaching style is a little spastic, but once you get used to it your ok. He always gives you an opportunity for extra credit. He will also stay after class and help you if your still confused. I didn't like his class at first but now I do and I'm taking him again next semester.
i don't know why every thought this class was so easy! and that he was so nice! this guy was so boring and rude. maybe i didn't stay long enough, but i had to drop after 2 weeks!
MATH 2312 - Nice teacher, and funny but I seriously had to teach myself everything. Gives alot of extra credit and most of his tests are take home, but even his take-home tests have problems way more difficult then what he teached, its ridiculous. Get ready to study for hours end to get an A, cuz I got my first B in my college career with him =/
Go to class every day and don't leave early like everyone else, complete the homework before the tests (homework is alot of problems all at once) and the reviews are due with the homework on test days, do the daily problem, and he gives plenty of oppurtunties for extra credit
Everyone seemed to love him because he was easy, but hes not even teaching till the last 10 minutes of class, he has lame jokes, HE IS EASY. But if you need the math in the future, your not going to know it, In a whole semeter we went over 3 chapters. Im good at math and i was bored out ofmy mind, Learned more from the book then him.
His classes are easy to pass if you do the homework and the reviews for the test. His teaching style is a little frustrating at first but once you get used to it, the class is seems easier. He will always be 10-15min late to every classes, but if you have any question, he will definately go out of his way to help you.
Best Teacher Ever!!! He enjoys teaching and I love his class even in the morning. Def take him for any math class!
Well, I for one am not that great at math at all, but this teacher actually made me want to come to his class everyday! He is so cool! He adds in random stories and analogies to make the learning experience even better. I am so going to take him again for a higher math course. An easy A! :)
I have a hard time with math, Mr. Brink will work with you after class for more explination! I like math now! Thanks Mr. Brink! And stat with him is great! Take HIM!!! I got an A, it was shocking for me!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH. I'm actually really good when it comes to math, but i took this guy for calc and it was horrible, you pretty much have to try to teach yourself from the book, which is impossible since the book sucks majorness at teaching you how to work problems. dont listen to the people rating him good!
worst teacher ever iam an all a student in national honor society. I study 4 hours a day at least.and i got a c in his class take at your own risk.
He really knows what he's talking about and welcomes questions. He writes really fast though, so try to keep up. Overall, great and entertaining professor! I'm terrible at math, and I got an A! :)
This guy is INSANE but so much fun to have as a teacher! He goes over any homework questions that you want to see done on the board, and gives you review problems before the test. The test are 10 questions, exactly like the ones he gave you to review. I would highly suggest him to anyone! He's a great, helpful and funny teacher!
I would not recommend. He assigns homework from the book over each section we do, &that homework is due after the following test. He gives you a daily problem everyday, and he goes over that problem for pretty much the entire class. Usually left this class frustrated cause I basically taught myself. He lets you use an old version of the book.
If you like listening to analogies, then this is your kind of instructor. I had to teach myself from the textbook. He is unprofessional and weird, take at your own risk!
I took him for college algebra and i am really good at math, so his class was a piece of cake. but you basically you have to teach yourself how to do things from the book and doesnt explain how to do problems well. his class is easy if you know and are good at math, but if you suck at math you are screwed.
Professor shows up on the FIRST day of class; 20 minutes late, no syllabus, and completely unprepared to teach. This behavior did not change at all throughout the semester. Worst professor I've ever had by far. If you want to learn anything, do NOT take this guy. I am not bashing. This is strictly honest observation.
OMG HE IS LIKE SO HOT. Good professor he tells you what he expects and provides input. Easy A, just show up to class, do the homework, and all the extra credit assignments. its very hard to fail. I like him. A lot.
I had him for Pre Cal, Cal I & II. Pre Cal was a breeze. Doesn't get through all the material before the semester ends. He only leaves like a chapter out and also skips sections all of which you will need for later courses. Very disorganize!!! Relies heavily on the book. Will create random problems, some unsolvable, and works on it the entire class
I love math so this class was a breeze. He does good at explaining questions but if you don't ask he wont go over it! If you are good at math and enjoy it then take this class. Alot of homework and daily problems but they all really help your grade.
Excellent Professor! Manages to make math fun and interesting. Completely accessible and willing to put in extra time to get the point across. Homework, yes, but not excessive. Daily problems really help. Lots of extra credit to help you through the rough spots. Even moderate effort will gain you a good grade.
This professor likes to go on extremely long rants about things as varied as Kardashians, dog's running across ice in alaska, to I don't know, honestly I didn't understand his rants half the time. I did my homework, showed up to class and did the review problems for the test and made an A. He can help you most of the time if you have questions.
Let me get this out of the way: He's not an easy teacher. He will sometimes go an entire hour before getting to his point on single problem. If you want to to well in this class, you're going to have to pay attention and take notes. But if you do pay attention and are able to connect the dots on what he's saying, he's a very strong professor.
Honestly, he was great at times and terribly confusing at times. He's very unclear about what he expects when it comes to homework. If you're someone who depends on teacher's explanations like me, i would strongly recommend you choose someone else. If you are someone who can learn simply on your own time form the textbook, ignore everything else.
Mr. Brink is so hilarious. He talks about the randomest things sometimes and everyone just cracks up. He is very easy to talk to and teaches well. He is helpful and wants to make sure everyone knows how to do things. He always makes me laugh and his class is easy. I take him for all my maths.
Brink overall is an easy teacher. Everyday he gives a warm-up question for bonus points. His tests aren't too difficult as long as you understand and do the homework and review that he assigns. He does not really teach, so you are going to have to each yourself. PS: You need the book.
He is enjoyable to listen to & he makes everybody laugh with his random stories and comparisons. He did not, on the other hand, teach. If you asked a question he gave you one of these off-the-wall comments about some celebrity or a friend that had some epic story. WOULD NOT take him again. This is a hard class, requires a prof that will teach you.
I only took him because he was the only one teaching stats. I wish I had taken Someone else at a different campus I made a good grade but it was the bonus points that got me there He drops the lowest test grade
If you are weak in math at all, I would advise you to find another professor. You will have to teach yourself by reading the text book. He is not very clear on explaining how to solve problems. I wouldn't really say he "teaches" either. A very nice guy, but he was a bit complicated. I did make an A in his class, but it didn't come easy.
He goes really fast so his lectures are confusing as heck! But he does assign homework and as long as you do those, you will be fine on your tests. He is willing to help you even if he has something urgent to go to after class. He also drops lowest test grade (4). I would definitely take him again but you for sure gotta work in his class.
He's very helpful when you ask him for help, but he rambles and goes off topic quite a bit. Over all I can't say I regret taking him, he was funny and was a easy grader.
He's an easy test grader, give you credit even if you do question wrong. Gives out alot of Extra credit opportunities. As long as you do the hw you'll be fine. sometimes he can be confusing. For those who aren't the best at math, maybe he isn't the best for you. He is always willing to help. NEED TEXTBOOK! Tells crazy stories about his life alot!
Man this guy is a trip.. He always seems like he's wired out on stimulants or some drug every day, but he's a cool guy and always tells crazy stories about his college days. He is a little unclear during lectures, so learn how to teach yourself. Just do all the homework and try your best on tests (he's a really easy grader) and you'll be fine.
Unprepared when it comes to giving back extra credit papers, always goes back to the office to get them during class. Expect to do tests on paper no multiple question tests. always have your text book on you, you do use it in class or that you will be lost and need to get the problems needed for the extra credit.
Not the best teach for you to take if math is not your strong suit. If you are confused on something you can just always ask him after/outside of class he is super helpful. Always has some crazy story to tell, but overall not a bad or tough class. Gives out tons of extra credit, which is super helpful if you fall behind.
Very disorganized. Can't stay on topic. Gives problems every. single. day ( Daily 15%). (Hw 20%). Basically the questions are what force everyone to class every day. If not, you could just read the book, do the hw, and show up on test days. Learned absolutely nothing in class at all. Showed up 5-10 min late every day of the semester.
do not take for stats. is really easily distracted and only talks about his friend Linda from collrgr
The worst class I've ever had. He spends nearly his entire class period discussing ONE problem, and is often corrected by the class. He interrupts anyone who attempts to ask a question. He runs extremely behind on lectures. Do yourself a favor and take some else for 1324!
Benjamin Brink dont take him guys he does not lecture and you have to teach your self. Calc 2 is though already and having a bad prof that does not teach is not helpful. There is lots of homework and one daily problem almost every day that counts for 15% of your grade. I regret taking Brink I hardly know anything about cacl 2.
Took him for the summer for stats 1342, and he was okay... sometimes he would get right to the point of explaining something, other times he would get distracted and not properly explain the problem. He does give a good amouny of partial credit on exams, and drops the lowest.
Really unorganized
Okay, let me be real with everyone. If you're not a math person, or don't want to do math, look elsewhere. This class is like... not with a teacher; this class is basically YOU and your BOOK. If you don't study outside the class, you will fail. If you play games all night and skip the homework, you will fail. Etc, etc. Funny and interesting guy.
I did not learn anything in the classroom. I had to look for YouTube videos in order to get taught what I needed to know. To pass with like a B or above, just do the "Problem of the Day" that he puts on the board and complete your "MyMathLab" assignments online that he posts. The textbook is unnecessary to buy because it's online on "MyMathLab".
Although he is a little unorganized, I really enjoyed him. He is funny and has some great quotes/stories. He was eager to help and even adjusted rules, grading, etc if you just ask. He rewards effort and offered us a ton of extra credit. Dont take him if you arent going to work hard.. but calc 2 is a class youll have to work hard anywhere
He might be a little disorganized but he's regardless a great teacher. Make sure to attend every class since he does daily math problems that are worth extra points. His lectures aren't super boring since he tries to incorporate life stories into whatever he is trying to teach that day. If you have any problems he makes sure to help you out.
Self taught class. Very unorganized but his tests are easy. Gives extra credit. Very flexible when it comes to scheduling the test. He gives out warm up exercises in the beginning of each class. It counts as participation grade. Make sure to do the homework. His tests are usually 10 questions. Go through the textbook and you'll make an A.
He doesn't teach the material in class at all. He is usually not in the class room for the first 20 minutes of class. When he works problems out on the board he spends way too much time on them and makes them way more complicated to solve than they actually are. You won't make an A on any of the work, but he gives a big curve at the end
