This class has been prepared by various teachers at El Camino College, therefore professor Mitchell is required to teach the material theispecific way. Just pay attention in class, do your work, and you are guaranteed to pass with a good grade. Not an easy A but he does offer extra credit and projects. Attendance isnt required but highly reccomende

His lectures are incredibly enthusiastic and thorough, if you have a question he will make sure to explain things whether in class or during office hours. I have yet to meet another professor who gives so much of their time to their students, he has multiple review sessions for every exam AND for every of his classes on top of his set office hours.

One of the best lecturers of the math dept. Yes, tests are hard but review guides are clear cut! You're going in knowing what to expect. Do go to office hours often because he's really helpful. I took Professor Mitchel for statistics in summer and it was amazing! He's a really good teacher and he cares about his students. Go to his review sections, he helps a lot and sometimes he gives away information of the test. His class is not boring, his knowledge combine with his humor makes it enjoyable. I loved Professor Mitchell, he is very funny and awesome teacher I had failed my previous math class because my instructor wasn't clear with lectures and taught lectures to fast, but Mitchell was patient and asked if anyone had any questions. He is without question the best professor period I've taken at el camino. He teaches so clearly and patiently there is no way you wont fully understand the material after every lecture. Tests are based off review guide that you must do to do good on it. Hw is not overwhelming but moderately challenging. Study Review Guide and H.W you'll get an A

191 is one of the hardest math classes out there in general. If you have the discipline to be taught by one of the best, this is the guy you wanna take. He explains it well, gives good examples and reviews before tests. It's a social class with group assignments. There's HW for credit which is harder than the test. He prepares you for success :)

Mitchell is the homie! Definitely the best math teacher I've ever had. I recommend taking good notes during lectures, going to all the review sessions he sets outside of class and asking good questions from the HW and review guide to ensure a good grade. Tests are similar to review guide so make sure to do it as well.

This class is very straightforward. As long as you take good notes, then you will be okay for the quizzes and tests. Try not to miss class because most of the time is spent taking notes. He also gives out the homework at the beginning of a new unit, so try to do it little by little so it does not pile up.

The (looks like) Bob Ross of Mathematics - relates all of life's problems onto a blank canvas through Statistical examples. Passing this class relies mainly on attending lectures, taking good notes, and understanding how formulas are applied. He offers lots of out of class reviews - would very much recommend him to anyone taking higher level math.

Prof. Mitchell's class is not difficult, just go to class and take good notes and you'll be fine! There are quizzes every week but it's open note+ a group quiz, making it very easy, just review the material before hand. His exams are also doable, he allows you to have one sheet of paper filled with notes that you are allowed to use for the exam.

He gives homemade cookies and brownies on the day of the exam. Keep in mind that I can only speak for Math 80. He doesn't give a lot of homework but you can also do the extra practice stuff that he posts up on the website which you should do if you want to get an easy A or B on the test.

I took Mitchell for 270, and WOW, this class truly prepared me as a math transfer to UC Berkeley. Mitchell writes his own notes impromptu style, but they are so exhaustive that you can read them like a book. He grades systematically by telling you how many points each exam problem is worth, so you can prioritize. EC is offered, but abstract.

Ben Mitchell is a fantastic calculus professor. He's a bit on the tougher side, but he knows the material inside-and-out so he's capable of thoroughly explaining each bit. It doesn't matter how "dumb" or inarticulate your question may be, he can decipher your meaning and your area of struggle and patiently explains until you understand. He's great!

Must take Professor. Seriously the best at El Camino. Allows a cheat sheet for every exam. Writes his own homework questions (which are optional but really helpful for studying). Linear Algebra is a very abstract and difficult subject to understand, but he made it easier to process. He's done an excellent job given the circumstances of COVID-19.

Mitchell did a great job transitioning from in class lectures to online due to the Covid pandemic Fall 2020 and the campus closing. I respect him a lot as a professor before and after. His weekly pre-recorded lectures were extremely detailed and uploaded to youtube. I believe he did all he could to ensure my success with office hours and exams.

Finally, a 5-star professor that truly deserves his ranking. Amazing lectures which are easy to understand. THE BEST. My man really was able to condense both linear algebra and differential equations into 8 weeks. And while it was super tough and lecture heavy at times, it is a really loaded class so be prepared. He gives EC on every test and the HW is completely optional. It wasn't too bad being online but it definitely could get difficult if in person.

I took professor Mitchell's Math 150 class during the summer and it was great. There were 4 quizzes, 3 test, and 1 final, lots of lecture videos. Math is not one of my strong suits, but I enjoyed taking his class. The class was faced pace, but, his YouTube videos explain everything so perfectly and made this class easy to pass! I have not had a math teacher this good since elementary arithmetic. He wants you to succeed. I actually understood calculus for the first time during his lectures. Stress-free class! 11 quizzes in total (given a week b4 to complete) and 3+ final exams (8 and 12 hrs to work on) are super easy if u watched his lecture and all have extra credit questions. Professor is very accessible outside of class, responds to emails quickly, and has tons of office hours. Easy A if u do all the work.

I've never had an outstanding professor in my few years of college until Mitchell. He's an attentive professor, with a clear teaching method and goal. Always making sure people are good to go and making sure people always have proper resources. Would take him again in a HEARTBEAT.

Mitchell is one of the best math profs at elco along with Marks. He gives extra credits for every assignment, including exams. He even bakes brownies and cookies for students every test. He is VERY accessible outside of class via canvas. You can check your take home quizzes/exams with him to get full credits. Take him if you can!

If you tend to struggle with math, I think this is the best professor to take. His videos are clear, helpful, and easy to follow. He also give good feedback on assignments and offers extra credit questions on each assignment and exam. The class was made of weekly quizzes composed of 1-2 questions, lectures were super easy to follow, and best of all the examples in the lecture were JUST like the questions on the exams which was a big help. He sent little congrats messages when I did well on exams and he let me make up a late exam with no late penalty!

It was a pleasure to have Prof Mitchell as my teacher, who is certainly one of the best in the mathematics department. He is very understanding, and his class structure will give you opportunities to succeed. His video lectures are simple to follow along and are similar to what you'll find on the quizzes/exams which makes learning a breeze.

Definitely one of the best professors I have ever had. He is so helpful and so great at teaching everything you need to learn in calc 2. Just pay attention and take notes during his lectures and go to his office hours if needed and the class is absolutely doable.

Professor Mitchell is one of the best math professors I have ever had. His material is clear, quizzes and exams are very fair, and he really does set you up for success. I did his class over the winter although it was quick I never felt like I was behind. Class consists of 4 quizzes, 3 exams and final, extra credit for all.Highly recommend, 10/10!

Ive never done a review but I just had to for Professor Mitchel. TAKE HIM! He explains math to you better than any other professor. I took him for winter 2023. Of course It was fast paced but doable. He answers any questions you have for HW and anything else. And hes quick to respond to emails as well.

mitchell is the goat. dont confuse him being rated well with being easy. he is by no means easy, but he really comes alongside you and guides you to success. put in the effort and you'll be rewarded. tons of partial credit and extra credit opportunities. people dream of taking his classes, so if you have the chance, do it. excellent professor

Mitchell is Awesome. He really helped me, and everyone really. He's available for office hours and also through email/discussion board. He gives greatly detailed responses and does his best to help you. Just put in the work and go to office hours and ask questions and you'll get by nicely. I'd say the class was not too hard. Highly recommended.

If you are not amath person, take his class, and you will find that math is not hard, follow what he asks you to do, watch the video before his class,after class do the review. If you are a math person, you can dig into the hard area whatever you want, he canhelp you find theanswer. He is a person who loves teaching with both patience and passion.

Professor Mitchell is the one of the best math teachers I've had in my life. He always comes to class with an energetic attitude and does not waste a single moment during lecture. He prepares you well for exams, and although there can be some hard questions it is never unfair. 270 is a difficult class, but Mitchell ensures you will do good.

Professor Mitchell was such an amazing professor I wish I could take him for all of my math classes. His class was well structured, no need for textbooks as he gave us handouts, he explains everything so clearly. The exams are very similar to the homeworks and you are allowed a cheat sheet front and back.

In summer I found that Professor Mitchell is one of the best Math Professors at El Camino He gives good feedback on quizzes and exams. His lectures are pretty good and you learn a lot from them, he allows extra credit questions on Quizzes and Exams and also will bump up any exam that is low if the Final is Higher overall a great professor.

I could give this professor an A+, I totally would. Summer class was intense in the amount of information given, but his teaching style is so clear and makes for a great learning environment. He loves to teach and I am so happy I got take this class with this type of teacher. He cares and is generous on extra credit for points.

I usually dread having to take math courses but I can confidently say that Professor Benjamin's math course was one of my favourite courses. He is very clear with his grading criteria and offers tons of opportunities to get extra credit. He is also always willing to give feedback and help. Overall he is an extremely kind and caring professor!

His lectures were very straightforward, and he made sure to clarify on the lectures. No homework just a quiz every week. Midterms are 45% of your grade, quizzes 25%, final 25% and 5% for graded discussions. All you have to do is study!!

He's an amazing professor really works hard to prepare lessons. He's very accessible and the week before an exam he has an additional 3 review sessions dedicated to helping his 270 students. You have take home quizzes and exams which he will check for you before turning them in. Wonderful professor best at el camino.

The class is straightforward and Mitchells lecture styles makes everything digestible and easy to learn. Plus he bakes brownies.

Well my second time taking this course until I met Ben that made it so easy for me to pass his class! I'm so glad I'm over math for now. I definitely recommend him what makes it better you don't need to purchase a text book. He uses YouTube videos for online course.

Benjamin Mitchell is an AMAZING professor! Despite sucking at math, I got an A in this class after previously dropping it with another professor. Easiest class I've ever taken at elco. Gives hella extra credit problems, runs exam review sessions, and tests are easy. Additionally, homework isn't graded aside from easy take home quizzes. Honestly though the class was so easy I don't feel prepared to transfer.

TAKE HIM!! He's extremely well known in the math department for being one of the best professors. I took him over the summer for Statistics and Probability, and I did not expect to enjoy the class as much as I did! He's a lenient grader; even if you don't get the correct answer, he'll give you partial credit. Super interactive with his students!

This professor is very clear on what he wants from his students. I thoroughly enjoyed his organization and how he explains every type of problem that will appear on the exams. He drops the lowest quiz score and replaces your final exam score with your lowest midterm score. He is a wonderful person and very understanding.
