Ben was my lab instructor for this course. He's very knowledgeable about chemistry and was available for help in and out of lab. He is very personable and easy to talk to. Not a super difficult course, but you do need to come prepared and really understand the material you're working on to get the grade you want.
Ben is the best Lab Assistant you could ask for! He always helps you with all your questions and he makes lab super interesting. If Dr. Perry seems intimidating, Ben softens the blow. I wish he could teach all of my labs. Ask a bunch of questions if you don't understand. He will even work you through the pre labs if you don't understand.
He was only my lab instructor but honestly he was one of the best teachers I've had. He is funny and very easy to understand! I hope he stays here for a lot longer so I can recommend him again! (Also he's young and pretty cute ;))
Ben teaches jusy lab, but I honestly learned more from him than Dr. Perry in lecture. He let me come to his office whenever I needed help (which was usually once a week) and talked me through anything and everything until I understood. Hes understanding and doesn't make you feel dumb when helping you. He truly cares about you and your grade!
He taught the lab portion, and Did an excellent job. He was very patient, even if you were one of the last ones there. I felt like he truly wanted me to understand the material.
I Loved having Ben as my lab instructor and would highly recommend him! He is always willing to help and is very understanding to those who struggle with Chemistry! His lab definitely made a difference in my overall grade in College Chemistry 1!!
Ben taught my lab section of Chemistry 1450 with Dr. Perry. He was overall a great lab instructor and very helpful! He's constantly running around the lab trying to help everyone at the same time. He really knows what he's talking about and wants you to understand it. He's a nice and understand guy too and approachable.
Ben was my lab instructor for Dr. Perry and honestly I learned more from him than I did from Perry when Perry had him go over material he couldn't cover in lecture. Very nice guy and don't be scared to ask him questions he wants to help!!
Absolutely love him to bits. He's helpful and extra clear with everything from lab instructions to setting up the experiment. He's very inspired by his major. it's nice to see someone passionate about what they do. He has a habit of making bad jokes but it's kinda cute. Overall great guy, he should really try teaching. He should replace Perry
He's pretty good. Doesn't make things really difficult or really easy. He's there to help you out when you need it. Likes to make nerdy jokes here and there; those are appreciated.
Though his methods at first are odd, he's a very insightful, helpful professor and lab instructor. He wants to make sure you understand before you leave. He's funny too
Great professor, always helped
Good lab instructor, do your assignments and read them and the book before class and you wil do fine. Easy to talk to in class and helpful.
Really good lab instructor. He will make sure you understand the lab material before you leave lab.
His grading is fair for all students but I would definitely ask him to look over lab work.
Good overall experience with the class.
He is very good with explaining what needs to be done in lab. He always answers any questions you have and always makes sure you understand the material.
Ben and his TA were very helpful. He explained everything well if you needed it to be explained more. He did his best to help everyone that was in the class even if the person needed help multiple times.
He was really helpful in lab, and was available to help with anything outside of class time in his office hours.
Ben was an exceptional lab teacher. He was always so helpful when we asked him questions.
He's really sweet and ready to help you whenever you need it.
I took him for Chem 1 and he was awesome! Favorite lab instructor!
Ben was my lab instructor for Dr. Perry and he explained things a lot better than Dr. Perry. He's willing to help at all times. Don't be afraid to ask.
He's ok
Had him for Chem 1450 Lab. He's pretty good, and his way of explaining the material is great. Some of the labs were hard to understand but overall I enjoyed his class.
Overall good at explaining subjects for lab. Honestly learned more in lab than in lecture. I would definitely recommend people to take. He knows what he is doing.
Ben is was good lab instructor and tried his best to make sure that the class throughly understood ever lab. He always tries to get the class to communicate with him to see if they understand the material.
Ben Scheuter is a great lab instructor. He is very respectful and doesn't make you feel dumb for getting the wrong answer. He is brilliant and easy to understand.
He is very helpful if help is needed. Explains everything before lab and again if you need him to.
Ben was our lab instructor and was very helpful. He's very helpful and enthusiastic on the subject. I felt as if he had great knowledge of chemistry and was very understanding. I would definitely take another lab with him again!
Willing to meet and put in time to help those. Works through problems step by step and helps you understand the material better.
He is pretty helpful and instructions are very clear.
He was my lab instructor for my College Chemistry 1 class. Overall, he's a super nice guy and is totally knowledgeable about anything you would need help with in lab. He's funny, SUPER nerdy (not in a bad way), and totally overqualified to be teaching a Chemistry 1 lab. His work is tough, but you learn what you need to know and he's there to help.
Good at explaining lectures. Typically learned more from him than I did from my actual professor. Showed good examples, and drawings that explained things clearly.
Super cool guy that will help you with anything you need help on. Hilarious, really calm and chill about everything.
He was a great lab professor but he grades the pre labs pretty hard sometimes. He was fun to be around and I learned a lot, especially since my other Chem teacher sucked. He helped us even on work that was not specifically for his class.
He is a very good teacher. He is very clear in what he wants you to do and is very helpful if you need anything just ask him! He makes the labs fun and I can't say enough how helpful he is. You should definitely take him for any labs he teaches.
I definitely wish he was the professor instead of just the lab instructor. He will always help you not only on labs but study for the exam. I would definitely take any chemistry class that had him as a lab instructor.
He is a very helpful lab instructor! Any questions you have, he will answer them in a way that is easy to understand for the student. His grading is a little hard, but he will always help you when you need it. If you care enough about your grade and show him that, he will help you out a lot.
Great teacher. Very knowledgable.
Ben is a sweetheart and extremely helpful! He is always willing to work with you one on one. He is good at giving clear direct answers. His before lab lectures are short but honestly helped learn more than the class lectures. I would definitely want to take him again!
He was very helpful. He breaks everything down thoroughly and makes sure to answer each question to the best of his ability.
He was very helpful throughout this semester. He explained the labs before we started them. I would take him again for lab!
In short, Scheuter is a solid lab coordinator. He's good at describing what you need to do, and is willing to clarify and help students if they need it.
Ben is a really good lab instructor, he always explains every lab and he helps you with anything chemistry related.
Ben is super helpful! He's willing to work with you and help you with anything chemistry related. I would recommend him to anyone.
Honestly, Ben should be a professor rather than a Lab Instructor. He is really helpful and I love that he takes the time out to make sure you understand the material inside of lab and outside of lab. He's a great teacher all together
Great lab! He was very helpful and explains concepts well.
Ben is more helpful than my actual chemistry professor. He explains concepts very well and makes it easier to understand.
Ben is very helpful and makes sure you understand the lab material before you start the lab, even if your professor hasn't covered it in lecture yet.
Ben was a really great lab instructor. He always made sure we understood everything before and during the labs and never left a question unanswered.
Looking over labs before the day of the actual lab made it seem as though they would be extremely difficult! Luckily, Ben likes to make sure ever student succeeds and understands the information clearly. He sometimes holds study sessions before tests to help us out in the class. I would take his lab again for sure.
I struggle with chemistry but Ben made everything so simple. He will explain things very well and will explain again if you still don't understand. He knows what he is doing and wants you to succeed and will do whatever he can to make sure that happens. Very approachable and understanding, highly recommend
He is amazing at explaining the labs, and interacts with the students very well.
I felt like when he lectured he kind of confused me more. He is a really nice person who I respect though. He really does try explaining the material but I just couldn't understand.
Ben explains the labs well enough that it's hard to mess up. He's willing to answer questions you have to make sure that you understand the concepts.
Ben is a great lab instructor. Whenever there is confusion, ask questions, and he'll lead you in the right direction. If you don't understand it the first time, he will figure out another way to explain it to you. Very helpful, but talks kind of fast sometimes.
Ben really tries to connect with students. He goes beyond teaching the subject and gives very useful study and life tips.
Ben is a good in structure and he goes over everything in depth. I will advice anyone who is taking this course to be sure to always work on the lab three days before they can be very complex if you do not look at them properly. Overall he is very accepting to questions and s always willing to help.
Ben is a great instructor! He can sometimes take a while to explain something, but he does it in a way that is easy to understand. He is a tough grader, so watch your sig figs, but other than that he is great.
I struggle with my Chem lecture, although Ben helped me a lot with my problems. His labs also helped me understand some of the test question.
Ben is a good lab instructor. He answers whatever questions we have, then goes on to clarify any confusion we have, and talk us through the steps of figuring things out. If I had to decide between having him again and someone else, I'd pick him.
Solid, regular class
I had Riviero as the lecture professor and having Ben as a lab teacher was the thing that saved me from not completely failing since she's pretty bad at teaching. He's easy to talk to and knows a lot about chemistry. His nerdiness is actually funny and will help you if you reach out to him. Make sure you do prelab to ace those quizes.
He was truly much more helpful than my actual chem. professor! He explained the concepts throughly, and much more slowly which was really beneficial to me. Not only did he made sure I understood that concept, but he also made time to help us out outside of lab too! I would definitely like to have him for lab again, or even as a professor!
I've had a tough time in chemistry over the years, but he made it to where I wanted to learn. He's extremely knowledgable and is easy going. Even though he's not the main instructor, he offers study sessions outside of lab and can be very helpful if you need the extra help.
Ben is great. His nerdy but it makes him cute and wanting to talk to him more. He doesn't grade hard but he wants to make sure you know what you're talking about. He held extra study sessions since our actual professor was terrible. I highly recommend taking Ben as a lab instructor. Would take him again if possible.
Ben really tries to connect with students. He goes beyond teaching the subject and gives very useful study tips for the exam.
Excellent teacher of the material, great at answering questions in a way you actually learn while getting your question answered.
Ben was extremely helpful when it came to lab, especially if you aren't the strongest in the chemistry field. A lot of times I didn't understand what we went over in class until I got to lab. He extremely helpful and wants you to succeed, but expect to work for your grade.
You can tell he is well educated in the subject. He is a tough grader but he encourages you to try and do your best .
Great teacher with an even greater attitude. He was always open to questions and gives great tips for the labs and classes in general.
He was a great teacher, he was able to explain things in a clear and precise manner and made everything much easier to understand. Honestly, he was better at teaching than my lecture teacher was
Labs are interesting. Tough grader on lab worksheets. He will also add study sessions for test.
Ben Scheuter is a good Lab Instructor that genuinely loves chemistry. He clearly explains what you are doing that day and wants you to succeed. He is always willing explain things even outside of class. He does grade harder than my lecture prof with sig figs and you need to have read the lab material beforehand to do well on quizzes.
My professor struggled with English, but lab time with Ben helped me understand more clearly what was happening in class. He also would hold study sessions where we could ask him questions.
I liked his ways of teaching !
Very good lab instructor. Really cares about what you do in the lab. Very cautious with chemicals and expresses this. Even had a few study sessions before exams.
Really enjoyed the lab portion of this class. He was usually pretty clear about abstract concepts and genuinely cared for the student's education. He makes Science interesting & enjoyable to say the least.
He's a really cool guy and a great lab instructor. His labs are enjoyable, the post labs and prelabs are tough but fair. He also goes beyond the call of duty by sending emails with helpful advice for surviving college, and even has study sessions before chemistry exams.
Ben was always willing to help and was very clear in explaining everything he talked about. Really cool guy, but some of he workload was pretty extensive for chem 1 lab. If you do take for lab, make sure to read and understand the labs beforehand. He also always seemed interested in what we were doing.
He's really laid back and helpful. At the begining of each lab we took a quiz over the lab we would do in class and also turned in our lab from the week before. The quizzes are easy if you do the pre lab. He is also more than willing to help I you get confused. The assign. do get harder at the end but he will help.
Better teacher than the professor!
Dr. Scheuter did a great job of helping students whenever they were confused about problems and was very knowledgeable about every subject covered.
Ben is a great lab instructor, always very thorough in explaining what we are doing in lab and why things were occurring. Definitely take.
Ben is very easy at times, you do have a quiz before every lab but it's easy. I didn't get below a 25/30 on labs.
He was really helpful with the lab, and would always answer any questions we had. I'd recommend him!
He's helpful in lab! Explains concepts very thoroughly. Chemistry isn't my favorite class, but he was very good at teaching the labs in the course.
He was super helpful when asked questions about the lab packets and helping with experiments. His explanations were very clear for the most part.
Ben was my lab professor for college Chem, it was nice to have someone different from the usual professor. Ben was super helpful whenever my lab group had any questions.
This lab can be tough, but he is always available and willing to answer your questions. He will break something down and make sure you understand it before you leave.
He is a super good lab instructor. He breaks down the content in a way that's easily understood. He also can help with things you don't understand from lecture. In my opinion he's better than my actual Chem proffessor. Obviously attendance is mandatory because it's a lab. I would recommend him
Mr. Scheuter was one of my best professors this semester. Genuinely glad I took him as my lab instructor. His level of difficulty doesn't mean you'll fail though. Just ask him questions and be prepared to work and learn.
Ben was super helpful! He's always willing to answer any questions that you may have. He's super nice & very knowledgeable about each subject. The lab quizzes aren't hard at all; just skim over the lab sheet right before, and you'll do fine. There's also bonus on the quizzes! I would definitely take him again if I could.
Read the lab package before lab day and make your pre-lab or it will take you forever to finish!
Very understanding and willing to work with you. Always wanting to help and will take the time to break things down to an understandable level.
Ben is very passionate about his job. Must take
Ben is really a great lab instructor, he does have pre lab quizzes, but they're usually pretty easy just make sure you read over the background of the lab. He doesn't grade hard at all. The only way you can fail in this lab is to not show up. Super easy, great lab instructor.
he is super helpful and positive. he helped me understand things better than the lecture teacher! he's also really good at explaining things. if i had the choice i would take him for chem 2 lab... 10/10 would recommend!!!!
Ben is fantastic. he was my lab coordinator and he was great. It's obvious he really loves chemistry and really wants his students to do well and love chemistry as well. He's always ready to answer questions and does it thoroughly. I honestly learned more from his lectures than from my actual professors lectures. I would absolutely take him again
Really went out of his way to make sure you understood everything you were doing. The labs were hard but he wouldn't leave you stranded.
This professor made labs very clear to understand and would take the time to help and explain any problem you had. He's very easy going and patient and is good at communicating with his students.
Ben is a great guy and his lab is fun. However, the work load is pretty heavy enough so don't expect to get out of lab early. Strongly recommend!
Mr. Ben Scheuter is a excellent lab instructor. He explains the material so clearly and is available during times outside of the lab. I would recommend anyone to take him because he although he is just a lab instructor he takes time out of the day to make sure you understand the concept no matter how many times you ask for help.
Benjamin Scheuter is the best lab instructor I had. He is really really helpful, and he makes lab fun and clear. Go to his labs or you won't pass this Course. Quizzes every lab so be prepared to read over lab objectives and background! He wants you to understand, just ask him!
Fantastic lab instructor. Helped students round the clock all lab period, every week. Understands material very well and explains things simply and in a manner thats easiest to understand.
He is a great instructor who explains things well and gives a little humor durning the process. Well recommended.
Really good professor, really explains the procedures for lab very well and is very clear. Always willing to help if you need it.
The labs are good & you get to leave when you're done. He is a tough grader though so do not rush to much or you will get simple mistakes counted off.
He is a great teacher, I preferred him to the actual Lecture professor
If you have questions, he is willing to help. Very good at walking you through to get the correct answers. Hard to not get all points on labs.
Good lab instructor! Very informative, but didn't aid as much as I needed in some instances.
One of the best lab instructors I have had since attending UCA. Very helpful and always will to explain and questions you might have. Overall a very approachable and fun instructor!
Ben was a great lab instructor. If lecture that week had been confusing, he could clear it up in lab. He also made himself available for questions before tests which helps if you can't make office hours or the review.
Ben is amazing. He's very helpful and pushes you to find the correct answer. Hes very clear with instructions so if you listen, you should never be lost.
This professor was an amazing lab instructor for Chem 1. He was very helpful and asked if you needed help with any of the procedures or doing the labs right to get accurate results. He is willing to help you succeed in lab if you just ask for help.
Quizzes at the beginning of class, so make sure you read and are familiar with the lab beforehand. Always willing to answer questions, won't just give you the answer though. You'll have to work for it.
As long as you don't goof off and you try your best he'll give you a good grade
Good teacher lecture takes up a lot of time in the period but is necessary to understand the topic. Strict grading and deadlines.
Was a good lab instructor. If you put in effort and show that you want to pass, you'll pass. Very easy to talk to and has no problem resolving any issues that you have in class.
I would definitely take Ben again! He is a great instructor and is very passionate about what he teaches. Take him if you get the chance!
Is very helpful when you don't understand something. If you have a good lab group then you will easily pass the class.
He really made sure the students understood his class and helped us throughout the whole lab. He explains the concept easy and gives us bonus points in lab quizzes. I would definitely take his class again.
He is a GREAT choice!! If you don't understand the material, he WILL help you. You will only struggle if you don't ask questions.
I had him as my lab instructor, and he was amazing. He has a sense of humor that takes a few classes to get used to, but he is happy to interact with students and does an amazing job of answer questions and connecting concepts for individual stuents.
HE IS THE BEST LAB TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD... HE WILL ALWAYS HELP YOU.. HE WOULD HELP YOU BEFORE EXAMS AND HE EXPLAINS REALLY GOOD. I WOULD RECOMMEND BEN TO EVERYONE... IF I HAD THE CHANCE I WOULD TAKE HIM AGAIN.
Ben is an excellent Lab instructor that really makes you think. He knows his stuff and gives great demonstrations. He gives quizzes that are a large portion of the lab grade. Read and do the prelab prior to lab! If you miss the class section be sure to read your book.
He runs the lab so be ready to listen and take notes on what he says
I liked Ben. He was tight.
I took Ben for Chem lab at Texas A&M and I was so frustrated with him. He breaks things down in the simplest of the simple and then he grades very harshly. He is a very nice guy but I didn't like him as a lab instructor. Everything was so tedious and I was irritated by his anal tendencies.
I took Ben for Chemistry Lab at Texas A&M. He is a great TA! He graded fairly hard and slow but he provided good feedback and was very good at getting you to understand concepts in lab. During office hours he was very good at answering questions but really made you work for them, which helped a lot.
