Professor Tchaikovsky is very good. He isn't the easiest accounting professor but you will learn a lot if you want to in his class. Exams are very challenging and there are 6 during the semester. He drops one and curves all of them fairly. Homework is online and takes time but it can be helpful. Overall, a good class and I would recommend it.

If it is your first time taking an acct. course, then he is an excellent teacher. He is helpful, fair, and relates well to us as the students. He tries to make the class engaging and interesting. Overall, Professor T is a great teacher, I would definitely recommend him as an accounting instructor!

Excellent Professor. I haven't seen like Professor Bennet Tchaikovsky before. He always does his job great. After take Financial Accounting with him , I decide to pass CPA exam. Wish he had more class like Managerial Accounting and Intermediate accounting in Irvine Valley College .

One of the most useful and interesting professors I've ever encountered. 5 tests, however lowest score is dropped. Also 1 final that isn't cumulative. Mr. T only puts lecture material on tests so you will encounter no surprises. Mr. T weeds through all the useless stuff and shows all the useful stuff. If you attend class and take notes, easy A!!

I had Financial Accounting last semester with Professor T in IVC. I' m working on Managerial Accounting this semester. I think it is so easy because I have very good knowledge of Financial Accounting that I passed with Professor T . He is so helpful and dynamic. Professor T is an amazing teacher, he is keeps the grades current and is easy to communicate with. Accounting isn't a naturally exciting class but he makes it interesting and is very good at clarifying concepts that are harder to grasp. The tests are challenging but you can do well on them if you attend class and take good notes.

I took Professor T's class this last spring. He is by-far the best teacher I've had at IVC. The subject itself, accounting, is very difficult to understand but this professor goes to the ends of the world to help out his students from providing clarity in the classroom to finding jobs. Well I'm too lazy to write review about a professor but in this case I'm more willing to, because professor T class is simply the easiest A of all accounting professors. Trust me! Study hard, do problems, and you will do well. He gave extra points in exams based on difficulty level anyway. A or B grade is easy

Accounting is a tough subject and can be overwhelming, especially if it is completely new information. I dropped this class. Why?? Because i did not study well. He is a GRATE teacher. His lecture is wonderful. He spend time to make sure you understand. If you did not study everyday you should drop this class with W like me. But do not worry. He is a responsible teacher. You will learn A LOT. He has a lot power point and grate written lectures . :)

One of my favorite teachers here at IVC. He's great at teaching accounting and really cares about his students. He really breaks down the material so that everybody can understand. He's funny in his lectures and sang me a lullaby when I got caught sleeping in class. I'm taking 1B honors (I wish he taught it) and quickbooks with him. He gives EC!!

Do yourself a favor and take your Accounting classes with Prof. Tchaikovsky. Accounting can seem extremely daunting from the outside looking in, but Tchaikovsky is an expert and could literally teach the subject to apes. He has fantastic way of simplifying complicated material. Also, he is friggin hilarious. HIGHLY recommend.

He's a fun teacher to take. Doesn't go by the book, teaches all from his own notes. Lectures are great. You MUST come to class, if you miss one day you will be completely lost. The homework is online. But, his tests are insanely hard. It was rare for a student in my class to receive a grade higher than a C on any test. Gives a lot of extra credit.

Professor Tchaikovsky is a good dude. I went into this expecting extreme boredom and finished considering accounting as an are of concentration. You need to attend his class to do well. He tests from lecture, and tells you exactly what to expect, and he is true to his word. If you wish to learn accounting, he is your man - one of the good ones.

He's interesting to listen to, knows his subject well and truly cares about the success of his students. He's a kind teacher - but serious and tough when he needs to be. I didn't think I would take Acct 1B, but just might if he's teaching it.

Attendance is mandatory. If you want an A, pay attention in class and write down notes on all of the problems he goes over. Tests are based off of in-class material and not the textbook. Allows a cheat sheet for exams if student finishes online homework prior to test. You are in control of your grade, if you put in the work, you will receive an A.

Bennet is the best! Attendance is a MUST if you want to do well in his class. Take good notes, really understand the concept of accounting, make a study group, and go to his office hours for extra help. He lets you use a cheat sheet for the exams. Prof Tchiaikovsky is a professor that really do care about their students and want them to truly learn the material. The tests in general are straightforward and from the class exercises done in class. He is a fair grader - he will curve an exam if needed. 45 years after earning my BA I returned to college for some accounting classes. I can say that Prof Tchaikovsky is one of the best instructors I've ever had. Don't expect easy. Expect to apply yourself and learn.

Honestly, Professor Tchaikovsky is the best professor I ever had at IVC. Although I ended up with a high B of 88, I really enjoyed his class. He gets to the point with no bs. His life advices are priceless and not to mention his hilarious, outgoing personality. He even called me to come in after class to give me advices. He's the real deale!!

I took this professor three years ago .He is the only professor who can actually teach accounting. He cares a lot about his students and makes sure his students are learning the materials. The exams were difficult but he curved them, and if you understand his lecture then the exams should not be difficult. I wish he taught all accounting classes.

I took him for ACCT 1A and ACCT 1BH. He's the kind of professor who emphasizes understanding, and the tests he gives proves this. Incredibly difficult, yet fair. He occasionally unintentionally repeats certain points or stories throughout the semester and likes to ask rhetorical questions that generally leave the class silent trying to guess what the answer is supposed to be (which kind of leaves him "hanging"), but all in all, great guy.

ACCT 220, Summer Session. Class structure was manageable - weekly discussion videos/questions, online quizzes fair, exams were based on peer presentation & essay questions that the prof strongly hinted at before. Great guy!

His class requires a lot of work just like any accounting class, but if you really dedicate yourself you WILL get good grades. I highly recommend taking Tchaikovsky's Accounting 1B class. Exams are on problems that are gone over in class. Study those problems thoroughly and you will pass the exams. What sets him apart from other professors is his career and college advice. Very helpful outside of class if you talk with him.

I have tremendous respect for Professor T. He went out of his way to help everyone with school/advice - no matter how time consuming. Amazing teacher. Tests are hard at first but once you get used to the style they are not so bad. Professor Tchaikovsky uses Excel to teach the course which is very helpful. He also quickly to respond to emails and is overall a very genuine teacher. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Group projects are required for this course.

Professor Tchai, Let me tell you he is the nicest human, guy ever. Hands down my favorite professor. I highly suggest taking his class if you want to be an accountant. Honestly, this is the best accounting prof. Iv ever had. He teaches very well and is extremely FAIR!! He is also really funny. Everything we do in class he puts in a google excels for everyone to go back to and there problems that are similar to problems on the exam. Just a heads up all his tests are not multiple choice.

I have never met a more inspiring professor, don't get me wrong his class is probably one of the hardest classes I've ever taken, but he is an extremely motivating and caring professor, the extra hours he put into teaching us truly inspired me to pursue a career in accounting- something I never thought would happen! If you get a chance take him!

Professor Bennet is one of a kind. In class, he speaks slowly, explains lectures really well, and makes you understand the material. The grade is calculated based on 4 exams (5 exams but only 4 graded), final exam, and participation. Online HW is required but not graded. Exams may not be easy, but it will be easy when you practice for couple times.

Grade is based entirely on the tests. Drops the lowest score w/o final. You learn strictly from his lectures and not the textbook. To pass, all you have to do is practice and ask questions when you're confused. He's as straightforward as it gets. Sometimes tries to challenge you on exam questions, but offers extra credit and curves if necessary.

Its obvious this guy loves his job. He teaches in a way that is clear and easy to understand, not to mention his charisma and humor make an accounting class actually interesting . He goes above and beyond to help inside and outside the classroom, especially if you want to pursue accounting as a career.. One of the two best prof. I've ever had.

Best Professor I've ever had the pleasure of taking. He's intelligent, respectful, gives incredible feedback, great educator, extremely knowledgable on all topics, is a CPA, and overall had a great experience in his class. I would recommend him to anyone taking Accounting.

If you have to take accounting, take it with Bennet. Bennet is by far one of the greatest professor's I've ever had. Accounting is a hard class but Bennet will break it down for you and make it easier. He has online youtube videos for all the lessons as well which are helpful. Also, Bennet is hilarious, you will get a good laugh in his class.

If youre taking accounting, take him. This class could not have been any easier. Excellent lecturer, super straightforward with what he expects on exams, extra credit opportunities. Although its not an easy A, its as easy an A youll get from taking ACCT 1A.

He's a great guy and a fantastic professor. I took it online and he uploaded YouTube videos for the lectures. The tests were in person however, but if you watch the videos once and do the packet twice, you should be prepared for his tests.

He is a great Professor of Accounting. He creates his own homework and videos to help with the homework, do the homework multiple times and you'll be fine for his tests. If you take his homework, you don't need the textbook. DON'T WAIT until the last day to study, you won't memorize the methods.

Professor Tchaikovsky, is amazing he wants to help you do well in the class. you have to WORK HARD to get an A its possible. He explains things in extremely great detail. His class can be challenging with problem based questions but do it repeatedly to understand concepts and will do great. He makes accounting fun would recommend taking him again

Took his summer course 2020 that was half taught by Tannenbaum. To me it was very obvious which material was Tchaikovsky's and which was Tannenbaum because his work was much more polished. His lectures were all through yt video which is fine, but even with the faceless lecture you get an idea of his humor and personality.

Overall easy class, you can get an A by studying all the materials in 6 hours for each exam. Just study the homework and youll get A.

Tchaikovsky is so straight forward--you know exactly what you need to do for the class. Accounting is challenging with any prof, but he simplifies it as much as possible. Super math heavy. Just do the homework a few times and you'll be set for the exams. Fair grader and sometimes gives extra point bumps on difficult tests.

Honestly, so thankful to have taken accounting with Professor Tchaikovsky. His class is a lot of work and to get an A you HAVE to put in the work! But an A is definitely achievable. His exams can be a little intricate. But make sure to practice the homework SEVERAL times. Get ready for the limited time on the exams, and never give up!

This class is the best online accounting class I have taken so far. Professor Tchaikovsky makes all the online lectures available to us. Those online videos will guide you through the homework and help you with the exams. He doesnt only teach us the book knowledge, but also focus on teaching us the concept behind each questions.

If you want to pass this class then I recommend doing the homework packet multiple times. The tests are very similar. He grades on completion not accuracy, if your not willing to put in time for studying you probably won't do well.

Tchaikovsky somehow managed to make our class enjoyable even when covering lessons. He is easily accessible for help/questions via canvas, and responds rather quickly to any misunderstanding you might have. For tests and homework he was straightforward with what to expect, and pretty fair on grading. Repetition is key to pass this class!

Absolutely love Professor Tchaikovsky! There's a lot of homework but if you put in the time to study it you will not only get an A but you will actually learn and understand accounting. Tchaikovsky goes above and beyond for his students and genuinely wants to help you learn and succeed. His lectures are great too 100% recommend taking his classes.

Took Professor Tchaikovsky's online accounting 1A course at LBCC and he seriously knows his accounting! Amazing and knowledgeable accounting teacher! He really goes out out of his way to help his students do well in the class. So, pay attention, ask lots of questions, and study the study guides for the exams and you will do very well in his class.

Prof. Tchaivosky is a great professor, although after taking his online format of the class made me change my mind. Things aren't as clear, homework is confusing, and homework is due a week prior to the test which by the time the test comes you already have forgotten everything. Highly recommend his class but not the online version.

Professor Tchaikovsky is great, and really cares about the success of his students. His recorded videos going over the homework are super helpful. There is a lot of homework in the class (I took the accelerated online class), but it is doable. If you put in the work, youll get an A no problem

Was awarded Teacher of the Year, so I came in with expectation. He delivered, if you seek help with work he was always accommodating, a Zoom session before each exam and additional in between Zooms. This class has ALOT of homework. Be prepared to work hours studying and completing homework.

I like the way professor Tchaikovsky instructed and dedicated to students. This is a difficult class. However, there are many benefits from the class if you are serious to study, do homework. I appreciated the way Mr T expand knowledge for students. Studying with Mr T., students are not only learn accounting skills but also much helpful knowledge.

Tchaikovsky is a very helpful instructor. He lays out exactly what is expected and cuts through any misconceptions about putting in the work. You will get out exactly as much as you put into this class so keep that in mind. He was helpful whenever I was caught up in anything and held regular review sessions to help his students as much as possible.

Professor Tchaikovsky provides a lot of useful resources, sets up his assignments such that you don't have to buy a textbook for the class, gives clear instructions, and even adds some humor to the class. You will have to put in a fair amount of time/work in order do well, but he explains the material well and grades fairly, so it's not that hard.

Professor T is an amazing professor who genuinely cares about his students success. Although you will need to dedicate some time on assignments & studying, you will definitely learn a lot! His lectures are great & very easy to understand and the tests are based off his homework so practice a lot.I highly recommend him as a Prof, you wont regret it!

I found the class to be heavily dependent on lectures and hand-written work. For the exam, it's similar to the HWP he gives out so do those. I only went over it once sometimes twice but I wouldn't recommend this for others. Go over this 2-3 times to really get the concepts down so your mind doesn't blank on exam day. Material is long not hard.

A professor whit his own style. He has a famous motto" Accounting is a skill and for learn this skill you need a lot of practice". Of course This awarded professor of the year is strict, but I am glad to have been in his class for three semesters and I believe he is highly confident instructor on the difficult path of becoming a CPA.

This professor is one of the most inspirational and passionate there is in this college. He wants his students to succeed and LEARN! We are college students which means to learn we need to study, and he makes sure we know that. While I did not get the best grade, I am to blame since I did not study as much in the end, but still, I learned so much.

I learned much more from this online class than I expected. I cared about skills learning more than credit. This class provided me with very useful contents to study and practice so as to master the skills. I enjoyed the videos to understand every assignments. Although this class need a lot time, I have to say it is worth it from overview in life.

Tchaikovsky is not only an inspirational accounting professor, but he also turns any concept into manageable, clear steps for understanding. I heard exam 3 was difficult so I decided to start by reading the book, I ended up not being sure of what I was reading, then I watched professor Tchaikovskys explanation, and found the chapter easy.

The way to succeed in this class is to repeat as many problems as you can and to watch every video he has posted on his YouTube. He is always open during office hours for extra help. I would suggest taking this professor if you are interested in a career in Accounting. He gives a lot of advice and wants his students to succeed outside of college.

If you intend to major in accounting, then I recommend this class. The exams are difficult and he's strict but he also provides a lot of support and he's very knowledgeable about the subject. The difficultly inspired me to work even harder to succeed. Additionally, he's very good about supporting students in achieving their career goals.

A great professor. I took the online class, his video lectures are VERY clear. for the 1B class, first, you need to do the homework and practice test a few times. Second, you need to understand the business concepts of the information given for each question.

Prof.T is the best accounting prof you can take at IVC. He is very caring, supportive and I loved evey minute of his class. He gives extentions all the time. Tbh as long as you participate you will do amazing. He scared me in the beginning of the course by saying Accounting 1BH is super hard and there's a bunch of project but it's pretty easy.

If you just want credit and do not care about the skills, you had better choose other class. But if you plan to work in accounting field and pursue a CPA, this is the right class for you. There are not multiple choices in exam. You have to write your answer on a blank paper. It is challenging but worth it.

Professor T is without a doubt THE BEST professor I will ever have the honor of learning under, put in the effort and you'll have an irreplaceable experience. 1BH's smaller class size made the learning environment so intimate and non-judgmental - I promise you that you will never have a class like this with anyone else!!! If you have any questions about the assignments, tests, or things outside of class material, he won't hesitate to assist you. You have to do the homework & practice tests in order to succeed in the class, and his material truly helps you to learn.

I like Prof. Tchaikovsky's teaching style. He makes complex questions easy to understand. I have been encouraged by him for my further professional education. This course is not too challenging if you could follow it step by step. Homework and practice are not avoidable.

Great class, great teacher, exams modeled after the homework. If you want an A, complete every homework packet at least twice. He sets you up for success. I required a medical accommodation that semester and he really went out of his way to be flexible with me, moreso than any of my other professors. He really wants to help his students & it shows.

Add this class and don't look back. Tchaikovsky is hands down one of the best professors in my college experience so far. He's realistic and sees nothing but optimism for you. Went through a mental decline during finals season and Tchaikovsky pushed me through. Stoked to continue taking more classes with him.

Professor Tchaikovsky really cares about making sure students learn what they need to know and are prepared for future classes and jobs. Accordingly, there is no multiple-choice on his tests, he has full homework packets, he explains clearly and with detail, and provides much support and resources for both his class and general career matters.

9 mos. ago I didn't know debit from credit. I enrolled in 1A to get formal accounting ed at a mentor's direction. Now, thanks to 1812's encouragement, I plan to take the CPA exam! I could never have anticipated this outcome. To master the material I spent >2 hrs a day, likely more than most. But the field is fascinating. My son is a huge fan too.

In spring 2021, I took ACCT1A with Professor Tchaikovsky. He explains everything very clearly. As an adult student without any accounting experience, I learned from his detailed lecture videos and finally got an A. His help to students is not limited to accounting courses, and even includes career guidance and future planning. Best professor ever!

In the summer of 2021, I took ACCT1B with Professor Tchaikovsky. He is the best accounting professor. 1B is more complex than 1A, but as long as you study following the learning method Professor Tchaikovsky suggested, you can definitely do well. In fact, in this class, I learned a critical learning method: practicing repeatedly.

Watch pre-recorded lecture to to know how to do the HW packet. Then practice doing the HW packet 3-5 times or until you can do it quickly and easily w/o looking at the solution. HW is like the practice exam but with diff #'s & name. 2 hr (+extra time if you arrive early) for exam which is plenty of time. Use abbr on HW and exam to save time.

Loved his class!!!! Amazing professor who is always willing to help students with anything, even things that have nothing to do with the course. Recommend this course to everyone. Just have to put in the work, and you will be fine. Trust me! Take this course!

pros: thorough, provides quick/straight to the point video's on YT for HW/exams, efficient, funny, caring, awesome dad jokes. cons: THERE ARE NONE. But seriously, he emphasizes repetition to understand the material and to do everything by hand and it helps. Be prepared to go over the HW 5-10 times to ace the exams.

If you are a business major and in the honors program, this class is a great choice to enroll in. If you work hard in his class, he will work with you on accommodations.

His homework and exams are very similar and he sets us up well. As long as you study the homework a couple times before the exams, you'll do great as he makes his own exams and homework himself. He is very strict about cheating though, and will wave around a electronic-detecting wand during exams. Despite this, the class is very straightforward.

Best teacher/class at IVC. At first, class seemed intimidating, but lectures are great and hw prepares you so much for exams (hw is identical to exam). I learned so much about the career of accounting and business through prof. He super caring and you can talk to him abt anything. Helped many of his student decide which school to transfer to.

love tchaikovsky! his exams were identical to his homework and he is very clear in his explanations. grading is very fair and he is willing to give extra credit on projects if you perform above and beyond. i wish he was more clear about the guidelines for the projects but overall, an amazing and knowledgeable prof! gives a lot of great advice too

Extremely funny and caring. The tests are hard but homework is exactly like the tests so you basically choose your grade by how much work you put in. I hated accounting and after his class became somewhat interested in it. Absolutely must take.

I could fill a book of things that this teacher does well and a post-it note of things this teacher does wrong. I genuinely have never seen a teacher better than this one who goes above and beyond. he's a king, has so many resources available for students to use, if u fail his class its literally u not using your resources well, he tells you everything that's gonna be on exams and they're just like the assignments we do in class, he's so funny and actually cares about the wellbeing of his students.

I took the online class with only in person quizzess. Clear grading criteria, hw is exactly like the tests, and hw is only graded for completion. Many resources available to pass the class besides just hw if needed (practices quizzes, recorded lectures, AI Accounting assistant), and you are allowed to skip 1 exam besides the final.

Honestly, one of the best professors I've ever had. He genuinely wants his students to succeed both in class and life. He's very transparent and gives you all the tools to succeed. Just don't procrastinate it's not worth it. The key to passing is to practice the homework over and over!!!. He's always approachable and super nice. Loved his class!
