Great Professor. If offered JA, take it. Its a lot easier than the oral presentation.

Junior Achievement is a must and if you can, so is the extra credit although I missed an A by 2 pts. because alot of the extra credit was late in the afternoon. A lot of guest speakers and very interesting course.
I second the EGO! It's hard to take anything serious about appearance in the business world from a man who has a MULLET!
Dr. Wilson does not lecture on material required for class. To many guest lectures saying the same thing. JA program is inappropriate in this class and should be in education dept. Students need to learn how to prepare and present oral presentations.
horrible, class is misery going to, mostly because it is 3 hours long, anytime a syllabus is 20 pages long you should know to get out as soon as possible, unfortunately i think this is the only professor teaching this class...hopefully this will change

This class was a waste of my time and money because you don't learn a damn thing. Go to class, don't buy the book, don't worry about the quizzes, do JA and all the extra credit and you'll get an A. As for Bennie I pray to God someone cuts off his mullet in his sleep.
MGT 3013 hmm....let's see. Wilson doesn't teach, has guest lecturers all the time, class is 3hr long, JA is a must. Overall, easy A. Material is not hard just time consuming, THE MULLET HAS TO GO!!!!!
Assignments are as dumb as Wilson. Extra credit is a must as is JA. If you can stand to be in the same room with his arrogant laugh, you can make it through the class.
12-page syllabus. Lots of guest lectures, little actual teaching. Tests over book (not covered in class). On the plus side, he offers Junior Achivement which excuses you from the tests and presentation. There are pop quizzes and mandatory attentance.

As its been said before, not a hard class, just a bad one. If you are willing to do 18+ hours of stuff outside of class, take him, as it is an easy A. Do JA, do all extra credit, come to class for quizzes and you will be fine. I think we should get together to cut his hair off though!
He does not teach, his guest lectures do all the work for him and his TA. Some of this guest are intresting, but you must sit through all of them, borring or not unless you want -50 points. Class too long, to much work assignments that take up time outside of school. Do the JA program.

Class is easy only if you do all the stuff required. If you are a crybaby, if you want a do-nothing "A", if you couldn't care less about your professional future, don't take Wilson's class. Lots of good stuff to help you after college.
He does not give most of the classes. He has guest lecturers to give class for him. Some are fun and intresting some are not. You hardly do anything in class but you have lots to do on Webct. In the beginning he is funny, later he is just borring and arrogant. He repeast his jokes over and over.

Wilson takes no prisoners. You put-up or shut-up. No excuses, he wants you to be professionally successful after college. Get out of this kitchen if you can't stand the heat. Highly recommended
This class is easy. If you don't care who your professor is and just want a good grade, take Wilson. He is very narcissistic, but if you can deal with that, the class is okay.

Conceited and narcissitic is true, tests are bad, but if you just attend class, do extra credit, and do JA, it's an easy A, or B if you slack a bit. Not as much work as people make it out to be...they are all just whiners.
He is pompous and conceited. He avoids lecturing by having guest lecturers all of the time. The exams are over nothing he says, you have to read it all on your own. Do Junior Achievement to get an A...or just avoid him! He is annoying and a terrible, unhelpful professor.

This class is a major blow-off class. I didn't learn a single thing in it. He didn't prepare anything himself for the class and had his teacher assistant do all the work. The class is super-easy, but not worth the money or time.
Wilson is one of the prof's that takes attendance. If you do not attend, points will be deducted. 95% of assignments are online and easy. Guests lecturers are great. Tests consists of chapters that you must keep up with, but tests are not bad. He gives lots of extra credit all semester& free surprise bonus points. Great & highly recommended. :)
Extremely boring class,you'll learn maybe two things. Read his novel of a syllabus and do the assignments for a rather easy A(JA helps, but not neccesary)He's conceited & self-centered; he will think he is better then you, he will tell you he thinks he is better then you. Also expect to learn his life-story, and he'll tell you he's black--its true.

Everything they say is true - he has a major ego problem. Taking it in the summer was probably a good idea b/c you only have to put up with him for 5 wks. No JA opportunities though. JR does everything. It's not difficult just a bunch of busy work. One of the most pointless classes I've taken.
Hard to get an A, only 13 out of over 150 got an A. Easy B, however, if you do your work and attend class. 25% of the grade is attendance and quizzes. The hardest part is the group oral presentation. Mainly busy work.

BEWARE... Do not take this professor!! You have to do the JA to pass. The only thing that was clear in the class was his "better than God" attitude. He avoids giving lectures and working by getting everyone else to do the work for him.
This was a good class to take over the summer. Homework is a BIG component-and it's usually easy. The tests are over tricky DETAILS from the chapter, but there are lots of chances for extra credit. Don't get irritated by Dr. Wilson-he's very confident, but if you catch him making a mistake he gives you extra points. And he makes a lot of them. :)
Biggest ego maniac I've ever met. His favorite subject is himself. He is also lazy, as he had others (particularly his TA) do all the work. If you can handle four months of listening to him talk about how great he is, knock yourself out.

VERY Confident and VERY intelligent. This guy knows what he is doing. This is a good example of someone who loves their job. I think his being an "over achiever" can be misconstrued as being arrogant. Took this class over the summer, got D's on each test but aced the presentation, ended up with a B.
Wilson requires alot of work but it's easy work. You should have a resume anyways and it helps. Junior Achievement was alot of fun and the in class presentation for those who don't participate weren't that bad. Usually quiz of 10 questions over chapters assigned. This class is easy. So many oppurtunities for extra credit. JA is a good way to be exempt from a lot of assignments. His 19 page syllabus is VERY CLEAR and it's that long so you won't have any questions. The assignments are quite a few, but VERY EASY. He is not as bad as people say he is. He does refer to his TA for most of your questions.
Keep up with reading the chapters. Quizzes weekly over them. Do not skip a class-will cost you an Easy A. Do as much of the online work ahead of time as possible and volunteer work-it is cake towards the end of the semester. Memorize syllabus-a few of the quizzes at the beginning will be over it. Like eveyone else says, "He's in love with himself." DO NOT MISS ANY OF HIS CLASSS if you take this guy, he takes random attendance and pop quizzes. You need to be there or your grade will suffer. GRADES HARD. TEACHES POORLY. TESTS AMBIGUOSLY. Opt for another instructor if ones available. Attendance required and heavily influences grade. Attendance will not get you an "A", only give you the opportunity to take challenging quizzes. Wilson is a big ****. I dont know what these lazy people who post bad things about him r talking about. He gives you alot of good lessons to help you succeed and get motivated. Do the work make an effort and an A is possible. The Enterprise guest speaker is annoying though.

He is kinda random. But he is not a mean professor. He gives you plenty of chances to get extra points. Just do JA, come to class (read the chapter, you will benefit from it for the quizzes), do the extra credit, don't miss guest lecturers. He's not mean, but he does expect a lot from his students. I would not suggest taking him for MGT 3003. He aslo never shows up so his TA does most of the work. He expects you to come to class but he never does.

I had no problem with this instructor and I would recommend him to anyone. All the students who had a problem with him need to look within themselves because they are the ones who have childish attitudes (really). Grow up little high school kids!

This class is super easy...if you do Junior Achievement. You must show up to class for random quizes and attendance. I just showed up and played on my laptop and never paid attention. I bombed the mid term and barely tried in the class and got an easy B.

This guy was never in class. I took the Junior Acheivment and I thought I did well. I got along with the teacher and the kids. I got my grade and was shocked. I went to the professor and said it must be a mistake. He said the JA teacher rated me very low. I couldn't believe it! I told him it must be a mistake and that I needed to clear it up
Not as easy as others put it, but not because the material was hard. I received an A, but I worked for it. No consideration for students who work a fulltime job. Prepare to learn from his guest speakers (there are many) and not by him. His TA does more than him.

Learing about the "real world of work" was helpful. Although he gave a choice, doing Junior Achievement, I feel, was a waste of time. Very stressful at times.
Does not like to teach, over the whole semester he lectured 3 times. Did not show up all the time but expects you to or you will get docked 50 points for not showing up to guest lecture(which is all the time) or oral presentations. This was the WORST class I have had. Attendance is mandatory... if you attend class, and do the Junior Achievement lectures, you should get an A. Dr. Wilson rarely lectured; when he did, he rambled about himself (he is very much in love with himself, and hearing his own voice).
His class was all about paying attention to the technical details of the 20 page syllabus. Very little content. It felt like a high school class as he generally talks down to the students. Others have made the same comment...this guy is in love with himself...very annoying.
Dr. Bennie Wilson is a cool teacher, he gives two major Exams and they are strait form the text and the on line Owl (one line writing lab). Every thing in the owl is also strait from the book, so no extra work. You have many chances for extra credit and make sure to take the option of Juniour Achievment ( work with kids for class project).
If possible try to avoid this teacher, his grading is just ridiculous. Would never take him again! He's rude, arrogant, and just doesnt care. When students were giving speeches, he was totally disrespectful and never looked up at the student presenters, he takes points off for anything. His class is easy if you're mature. People complain because he doesn't hold your hand(maybe they forgot this was college). You can have all the assignments except the take home done by the first week. He gives enough extra credit so anyone can get an A. Do CAP & JA, that will put you in the clear.

Not near as bad in my opinion as everyone makes him out to be. Just do what you gotta do...easy quiz grades (I never opened the book) and attend class. JA is the easiest way to get a solid B. Overall, I would take him again, and I'm not the your typical go to class every day kind of person.
Horrible teacher, easy class. If you can go every day and put up with what may be the largest waste of time then you can get an A. The A was easy, do the extra credit programs J.A. and CAP and you will not have to do the final or an oral presentation. Just be ready for a constant exercise in redundancy. Easy A if you just: 1) go to class everyday, 2) do JA, 3) pay attention to course schedule and assignment due dates, 4) bring plenty of parscores everyday. That's it. Most class meetings are a waste of time but he takes attendance everyday, sometimes twice, with the parscores. If you don't show up -50 points from your final grade for each parscore.

This guy is lazy. He does not teach his own class. He has people from the "real world" to teach the class. If you miss a class, it is 50 point deduction from you grade. Yes, hes seriosuly taught the class once during the WHOLE semester. Other than that all guest speakers, some are somewhat interesting. Overall pretty easy A, but attendance is mandatory! Jr. Achievement gets you out of final and is a great experience. Do it.
Not many people cared for Mr. Wilson, but I for one learned alot about outside the academic world. Its a class that you have to work hard in, but its worth it. BUY ALOT OF PARSCORES, don't procrastinate, and follow the class schudule.

i failed the tests and quizzes and got 100 points taken off because he took attendance when i was absent. I still got an A. Just keep up with due dates and do some extra credit, & you'll be fine. anyone who hates this professor is lazy and a cry baby.
Great professor. Many students hate/disagree with his teaching method, but ultimately he puts all of the responsibility on the students which they are not used to. This is the worst professor I've ever had. He made all sorts of offensive sexual references whenever he actually came to class. (pornography, prostitution, masturbation, etc). I reported him, and nothing happened because he has tenure (used to be assistant dean in business office) -Disgusting. I learned nothing in this class; spread the word.

Show up to class. The JA experience was the best thing I got out of this class. Most assignments were completed outside of class, online. It felt more like an online class, but you still have to show up to class or points are subtracted from your grade.
I DID MORE WORK FOR THIS CLASS THAN ANY OF MY OTHER CLASSES COMBINED AND IT STILL WAS NOT ENOUGH TO GET A B!! IF AT ALL POSSIBLE AVOID THIS TEACHER, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW UTSA HAS ALLOWED THIS MAN TO BE A PART OF THEIR FACULTY FOR SO LONG.
Plenty of chances for extra credit and to make an "A." I would say he's fair overall. He actually holds kids accountable for their work. If you're a snot-nosed college student who expects professors to hold your hand and put up with your c**p, don't take this class. Imagine how much more competitive the US would be if all profs had higher standards

If you can make it to every class, and make atleast a 70 in his long midterm then you can make an A, I did. Also he offers Junior acivement which will gie you full credit on your final and oral presentation grade. The biggest factor to making an A is going to class, complete JA, and taking the midterm. His bark is much worse than his bite. This is a class where you can work a bit for an A, or sleepwalk to a B. Tons of extra credit opportunities, and if you show up every day, you'll be fine. Study the 20+ page syllabus, his first quiz is based on it. If you want a professor to spoon-feed you the test questions, take someone else.

Way too many assignments! Fails to realize the amount of work load a student should be given during the semester. His class is equivalent to taking 9 hrs! TOO MUCH TO DO!! Dr. Wilson does have alot of required assignments. Attendance is mandatory, although he insinuated that he might be changing that policy. Participate in Junior Achievement AND CAP, and you should get an A.

I learned nothing from that class at all because he did not teach anything, he just rambled and had guest speakers every day then he had pop quizes on the book and 100? To be honest, he barely taught the class. But there were a lot of guest presenters and outside activites that helped me as a management major. So just take advantage of all the extra credit opportunities so you can get an A and actually LEARN!.. He did a lot of pop quizzes so keep up with the readings and always have a parscore handy.
Personally I thought he was a great teacher. I learned a lot of stuff I needed to know for my future career and the way he taught it really stuck with me. If you turn your assignments on time and do them correctly it is a pretty easy A.

Bennie is an easy A. Do Junior Achievement and you get full credit on final and don't have to do an oral presentation. Keep up with the readings because there are "pop quizzes" after each chapter. Keep a parscore handy..he tends to do pop attendance days. If you do at least two of the extra credit offers, HEB CAP Program and Junior Achievement, then you will get an A! He has awesome guest lecturers that are actually beneficial. Don't drop his class and go to the final class day and get 50 points

Easy professor! Do Junior Achievement and you'll get an A. All it is is teaching kids once a week for an hour for 5 weeks. Only 2 exams including the final, and if you do JA, you get an automatic 100 on the final. Go to class and you'll get a lot of extra credit as well. EASY CLASS!
Read through blackboard messages every day cause it's likely something has been changed (way too often) or added that will affect your grade. Can't print the syllabus cause it's a novel (27 pgs) and he changes it regularly. Really, if you actually read the syllabus, he gives you an insane amount of opportunities to make an A in this course. It's surprising, however, that many students complain that he does not do enough. Great professor.
Dr. Wilson gives you PLENTY of opportunities to make an A+ in this class. I would recommend taking this class when you do have free time during the semester. You don't need the book if you do JA, CAP, or any other extra credit assignments. JA was amazing and CAP really does help.
HORRIBLE professor. He has several syllabi and is never clear which one to use. He preaches "real world" but he is just lazy and uses that as an excuse. Unless you have time to do the extra credit in the class, don't take it. It is near impossible to make a decent grade if you do not do the extra credit.

Worst professor i have ever taken at UTSA, if u miss class you will get points deducted, there is a quiz every single class. if you do not read before every class do not expect to do well on the quizzes. The syllabus changes just about every week of class so it is difficult to keep track of dates for assignments, he uses the +/- system too.

Pay attention to the syllabus. Many extra credit opportunities, but if you sign up for an event and don't fulfill it the points that could be awarded will be docked from your grade. This professor is EXTREMELY strict on deadlines, plus he takes away points if you're absent. The exams are completely based off the textbook and his lectures are all but useless. Wilson takes himself way too seriously and made this class more difficult than necessary. I would not recommend this professor.

Unfortunatley he is the only professor for this course. He doesn't teach at all and is very rude. It is possible to pass this class w/ an A, but you will need to do ALL the extra credit he offers to do so. I was exempt from the final and oral presentation(100%), so that makes this class worth it in my opinion. He does not budge with grades either.

Despite the warnings I took this course and seriously regret it. While it is common sense and totally easy it is a huge waste of time. There are lots of outside of class requirements that are time consuming. I would recommend taking the CLEP exam for $105 and saving time money and frustration. Wish I had known I had that option.

If you want to be treated like a college student, this is your class, otherwise, just stay in Kansas :-). It is easy to make an A in this class, but you have to do a lot of work. the in class quizzes will get you if you do not read the chapters before the class. Tons of extra credit to do. JUST STICK TO THE SYLLABUS and show up to class.
Dr. Wilson's course is pointlessly complicated and designed to teach kids what to expect in the professional world. Will be a reality check for students that don't go to class or don't take their work seriously. Do CAP and JA and you will have more points than you know what to do with; do the online quizzes all at once and forget about them.

Took Mr. Wilson for a 5 wk summ course. hybrid course. Definitely a workload, on the 1st day of class he suggested we drop other courses because he would expect a lot from us. I took his 5 weeks class during summer wc requires a lot of reading on quizzes and homeworks online. We did a group presentation and he doesn't care of what topic you guys wanted as long as it's informative or persuasive topics. There is a lot of assignments for his class, his syllabus is really long, but everything is easy! he does take attendance, so If you don't show up you get 10 points deducted. It can be overwhelming at first, but everything is pretty easy. His midterm was easy, and if you do JA you can skip the final. Overall, you decide your grade in the class.
JA(Junior Achievement) is going to a school of choice (grades 3-12) 5 days for about 1 hour each day on your own time to teach about business. If you do JA you get a 100 on your final and 200 points for the in class presentation. If you do JA its an easy A or B. If not expect a tough B or C. Unavoidable so embrace it. There is an online quiz every Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday for 7 weeks. 1 Midterm Exam, 1 Final, 1 Oral presentation. I'm not too sure why you're looking at reviews because you will have to take him. Even if you get the other professor she replicates his syllabus. I'm taking him for the THIRD time because I always get behind on the online assignments. I'm having to take temp. leave from work just to focus on his class over the summer. May God have mercy on you...
DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. The course is designed for the extra credit. It will be difficult to pass if you do not do extra credit. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He can come across as mean, but really he just wants you to do your best (and he expects you to do your best). I can't stress enough, take every extra credit opportunity you can.

Pretty much what everyone else is saying. Class is a joke. Goes on and on about not being in Kansas anymore when in reality his class is the only thing in a type of fantasy land. All the assignments are accessible online and his lectures are a COMPLETE waste of time. Even though everything is available online he still takes attendance every class.

Unless you do JA or CAP it's almost impossible to receive an A. And dont get sick or have to miss class for any reason because he will destroy your grade . He's a joke. Don't waste money to teach yourself.
I took Wilson for Communication back in summer of 2015 and his class was easier, coz we did group presentation instead of individual. I took him again for Leadership class and he form 5-6 people for presentation and we have to teach the class for (2days) 45 mins or longer to 1 chapter he assigned to us. Take advantage of CAP it will help your grade
Completely unbalanced grading system. He wants to prepare for "Kansas". However, his version of Kansas is not the standard we live today. In other words, its silly and doesn't truly prepare you for the real world. In my opinion, it's his way of a system that makes grading and organization of 100-300 students easier for him. He does have some pros.
Warning!! Avoid this teacher at all cost. He is unfair, unrealistic and unprofessional. I have joined the JA Program and CAP, I have gone to all the extra credits. My only mistake was I couldnt complete my attendance PAR Score in the 30 seconds he allows, so he marked me absent for the day.
His quizzes are unfairly timed. He bragged about attending a KKK Rally in California in the 70s. He told us that is an example of Emotional Intelligence. He runs the class room like the Mad Hatter. Spring 2017
Dude is ridiculous and so particular. Makes class 1000% harder then it needs to be. And constantly contradicts the book, yet he does what ever he can to teach as little as possible .
This professor is not the best. This class is not that hard. You have to try to fail. Everything is online. I did not do JA, and did fine with the in class assessments and final. He offers more than fair extra credit. Does take a ridiculous amount of attendance each class.
If you are aware and are responsible of all the hmk and extra credit you have to do in that class and do them on time, you are going to be fine, if you are usually iresponsible, then forget about it. uses parscore as attendance on every class, lots of extra credit but as I said, be responsible.
This class is easy if you keep track of the dozens of quizzes and assignments that Dr. Wilson assigns. This isn't a hard class. Dr. Wilson is just a rude professor who made disrespectful comments to students in class. Participate in JA and CAP that he assigns as EC. It's actually fun and looks good on your resume.
Do not slack off on the due dates posted on the syllabus, if you do you will not have a good time in his class. Keep track of the syllabus due dates and show up to class. Missing homework and modules can really hurt your grade.
Your grade consists of 20 LearnSmart, 10 quizes, 3 exams, 25 self-assessments from McGraw Hill Connect. Quizzes & exams are tough & detailed even when reading chap thoroughly. He hardly lectures & instead divides the class in groups of 2 to present a chapter. Attendance is mandatory. He will subtract 10 points for each absence. Sticks to syllabus.

Despite the horrible reviews, you don't have a choice but to take him and this course. Easy A just sign up for JA and CAP. Attendance is mandatory or you loose points. This course isn't that bad, just come to class and listen, everything is done online. The writing lab needs to be read thoroughly when completing. He's very arrogant.
I love the idea this professor has by Including the JA program and the Guest Lecturers that speak however, his class is harder than it needs to be. He also has little concern for those that have jobs as he punishes those that do not join the JA and Cap program. This class is the worst I have taken and this professor is incompetent & uncaring.
I only did the CAP program, but it would be wise to both JA and CAP, as this will solidify a A in the class. This isn't a difficult class, the professor will just get on your nerves. Easy homework and easy tests. Make sure you do every extra credit opportunity he gives you.
do not take this class, professor is unrealistic in terms of the real world, lacks communication skills (even though he teaches a mgt comm class), will grade any written assignment in terms of if he liked it, not on if it was correct (assuming he actually graded it, not his TA) and then when you ask him questions about grade will talk condescending
He made my life difficult. He graded my presentation based on whether he liked it. The presentation was worth a lot of points. I spent a lot of money on Parscores. His attitude, and treatment of students is unacceptable. I hope he changes. However, try taking the course at another university. Talk to your counselor.
This summer class has a lot of work. Be sure to stay on top of modules (8 hrs/week)deadlines-professor is strict on this. Also, you're not always using the textbook-you'll read from the book, or watch/read related articles (very engaging).Dr. Wilson is unfavorable, when there's a question emailed to him, he'll reply condescendingly to whole class.
I don't understand the circle jerk about hating this guy. Took the 5 week online course. Lots of assignments but it's an easy A if you stay on top of it. No flexibility for missed assignments which should be expected with any professor. Save yourself the grief and take online.
Honestly, I was a little concerned going into this class given all the negative reviews. That was not my experience with the online version. It ran smooth, even as a 5 week summer class. If you stay on top of your assignments, it's no more difficult than any other class.

Given the negative connotations concerning this professor, I believe them to be untrue. I thought this guy was great! This class has been one of the easiest A+'s I have ever earned. Of course, you MUST take him online, though. Essentially, he is always there for you when you need help, and can really be a great asset to your learning.

Everything you need to pass this class is on quizlet.. this class is composed of student speeches for 95% of the semester and a few tests. just show up and know how to use the "google" and you will pass easy.
Wilson hardly lectures, most classes are guest speakers and presentations from classmates. You have to be on top of your online assignments because they are all due very soon in the semester. You have to do extra credit to get an A. Make sure you have lots of space in your schedule when you take this class. Must attend every class as well.
Avoid at all costs. Taking online course; he doesn't seem to care about students or their grades. For example, for a quiz we had to watch a 9:43 video clip and answer 8 questions WITH A 10 MIN TIME LIMIT. Several more like it. Its not that I don't know the material, its that he makes it impossible to learn. Refers you to "help desk" for any issues
He doesn't teach. He's degrading, and obnoxious. I would never take a class with him again and I am thankful that I do not have to. Who is this guy? Someone who will treat you like a child and complain constantly. Someone who goes back on his word in regards to what days are excused and which days aren't. 8pts away from B out of 1000.

I think he lectured maybe 4 times this semester and that was just him reading from slides. Many guest lectures and student presentations. TAKE ONLINE!!
He's not the best professor. Projects are a huge chunk of the grade. His is exam is difficult since most the answers are opinion based, have to be there for class or there is a 10pt. deduction, definitely do all the extra credit especially Junior Achievement and CAP. There are only 2 people teaching the class and the other one is not any better.
Yes we have modules every week. 5 pop quizzes and one test. ONLINE CLASS. People who are complaining here did not spend more than five minutes reading the articles. Easy A if you actually read a bit. As a professor he is not very helpful but the class is not as hard as it seems.
Do all the extra credit you can! He offers a lot throughout the course and it'll help make up for his poor test format. The midterm was a nightmare which had many confusing questions. You can skip the final if you volunteer with JA, which I highly recommend. Beware of the pace, it was super busy the first half then nothing the second half.
I took his MGT class online. Do not recommend at all. Some assignments were terribly hard and others seemed so pointless. He wasn't really willing to work with the class either. Will not take again.

Attendance is mandatory, but its random if he actually takes it or not. All the assignments are available right from the start so you can do them all in the trial period if you have the drive. Tests are directly from the Learnsmart, Quizzes are a pain to get done in 5 minutes if you didn't read. Overall not hard, but a draining, annoying class.
His online class was very well organized but way harder than it should have been. quizzes u get 30 seconds per question, and tests 1 minute per question. In order to learn the material you just have to read the book and hope you remember everything when you take the test because you don't even have time to look at your notes. Some ec is offered.
The online class is the only sane option for this course if you HAVE to take it. Even then, the timers on quizzes and exams are a little unreasonable. Otherwise, you don't really have to deal with him other than his emails here and there. Straightforward class entirely through LearnSmart; Your grade is basically what you make of it.
I took him in hybrid format. Easy class. Did the homework before the textbook trial ended. Exams are exactly like the quizzes. He never lectures and if he does it's usually something about his personal life. Can be a little out of there but it's an easy A if you do all the work.
You won't receive an A if you don't participate in the extra credit opportunities so do them, esp CAP! The quizzes & module tests aren't hard but the timing is fast so if you didn't read the learn smart you probably won't know the answer off the top of your head. Don't wait last minute because he doesn't care. Don't ask dumb questions & you're fine
He will mess up on entering things in the grade book, or there will be a technical issues, and he still won't give extra time for the assignments even if it is his fault. Questions about an assignment or really anything? Might as well ask yourself because he replies with things like "Perfection is illusive." yes elusive was spelt incorrectly.

His quizzes do not offer enough time. Very rushed and confusing class. He doesn't explain much and lets you figure out stuff, even when it comes to class structure. Took him because I had to. This might be the only class I don't get an A in.
I took this class online after hearing how awful this professor was and I definitely expected the worst. This class is super easy online though. I breezed through it with an A. Take this class online and you will pass easily.
Prof Wilson has put together a very informative and very relevant online class with a clear class structure and grading criteria. Not a difficult class if you do the reading and the homework. I would definitely take him again.

So glad to finally be done with this class. The quizzes and tests barely had any time so they were really stressful to do. My advice is to be really prepared before doing any quiz/test for this course if you take him.
Maybe taking this professor online might be the better choice. 5 minute 10 question quizzes, 50-80 question learnsmarts, in class exams, and challenge cases. Just stay on top of all the assignments and pay attention to due dates as they might be different in the syllabus (he may have fixed this). Gonna have to take this class again next semester!
I wish I would have listened when they said take him online. Honestly, if you dont do the JA program... chances are you wont get a A in the class. His personality and teaching style isnt the easiest to get used to. Majority of class time is him just ranting instead of lecture. Basically taught myself. So glad this class is over with!
Yes his quiz/test timings are rushed, yes his class is mostly guest speakers. However, I didn't think the class was as bad as his reviews sounded. As long as you don't try to make him mad, he's seemed like a friendly person. As long as you do JA, CAP, OWLs, Learnsmarts, Quizzes, and Challenge Cases, you can fail the exams and still get an A+.
Crazy strict on attendance, legit has people guard the doors so no one comes in late. Lectures completely unrelated to exams. Due dates changed randomly, syllabus changed twice. Somewhat condescending. Randomly cancelled class but was strict about missing. Exams are easy.
beware of quizzes specially core and supplemental quizzes those quizzes are very hard with only 5 minutes for supplemental quizzes and 10 minutes for core quizzes and quizzes timing are unfair plz take another for mgt 3003
If you are planning to take this class, please do not take it with this professor. The timing for the quizzes and tests is completely unreasonable. He basically enjoys bringing down students GPA's. The tests aren't always hard but due to the timing you will be forced to guess most of the time.

Despite going to class everyday, I have not learned one thing from this professor. He has only presented to the class one time (which we were genuinely happy at first until we realized it was mostly just him ranting) and the rest were from guest speakers. He needs to review the class materials again because he often shows lack of respect and facts.
By far one of the worst and rudest professors at UTSA. He teaches Business Communication yet he can't even respond to his emails in a timely manner. DON'T FORGET THE OWL QUIZZES at the beginning of the semester cause they are a huge portion of your grade. His online class is relatively easy as long as you stay on top of the models he assigns.
For a class that is largely about efficient business communication, Dr. Wilson is extremely inefficient. He takes attendance by having students fill out 2 parscores for the beginning and end of class, instead of using iClicker. The syllabus is 28 pages long and somehow still lacked clarity. All quizzes and exams are from the book.
You will not have to present in this class, which is odd for a communications class. Half of the classes he isn't even there he just has guest lectures. The only way you will benefit from this class is if you partake in the extra credit (CAP and JA). Once sat in a lecture and we talked about how pointless our timed quizzes for 45 mins. do not take.
WORST CLASS IVE EVER TAKEN. Test averages always in the 50's with no curves. Mandatory attendance. Ridiculous time constraints. Easy content yet made so difficult by the professor. The only reason I got an A was because I did the volunteer opportunity that was worth 2 tests grades. I heard they're reworking this course because so many complained.
i don't recommend taking wilson, even online. all of the quizzes and tests were timed to only 30 seconds per question, which is really stressful. each week, you have to read 1-2 chapters on connect, take a quiz, complete a challenge case, take a test, and sometimes more. chegg, coursehero previews, and a lot of extra credit got me an A.
I didn't realize it was possible to have guest lecturers almost every class period. I believe 2-3 lectures were on actual course content. Unfortunately, you lose points if you don't show up. Bennie Wilson enjoys making lose points on common sense material. Do extra credit assignments or slowly move to B or lower. + and - grade scale. 95 to get A.
Avoid if possible. This professor took what is probably a useful subject and turned it into a waste of time. I took it online he assigned an absurd amount of tedious work, learned nothing from the class. There's no teaching other than when he says to read the book. Do the extra credit and do well on the OWL quizzes in the first week.
What could be a beneficial course, Wilson made a chore. Absurd amount of assignments. From the start of the course I knew he enjoyed making it hard for students. His explanation is "the real world." Unreal. Ridiculously short time constraints for assignments. Attendance through parscores?? Easy assignments but stressful and awful experience.
Assigns quizzes with a little amount of time which makes you have to rush through the quizzes. Assignments aren't even open until a day before they're due. Talk about not waiting until the last minute when you basically have to with this professor. I really wish there was another professor who teaches this course because this is just ridiculous.
Bennie Wilson is kind of a bad professor and never teaches you anything himself. He has a lot of guest speakers and rarely goes over course material. Attendance is mandatory each class. I would not take again. I noticed a lot of dissatisfaction among my fellow students throughout the semester. I would not recommend.
Dr. Wilson is by far one of the worst professors at UTSA. He never really taught us, rather let us read the book ourselves to understand concepts The is class is fairly easy as long as you keep up with your work. Do good on ALL the tests or you can forget about an A.
