This class was not too hard. In the beginning he used some termanology and concepts that were above the level of the class, but he realized this pretty quickly and altered his teaching technique so that it was more straightforward, focusing on understanding and applying the concepts. The tests weren't too hard. Would reccomend Prof Coffey.

He doesn't seem to care about teaching at all and expects the students to teach themselves the textbook material outside of class. He conducts his lectures in a different manner than his tests which makes it difficult to study for and when a student reaches out if they are struggling, he's not very good at helping them. I do not recommend him.

Super easy class. I didn't even need the book. The lectures are found online and good enough to do very well on tests. I barely studied and made 2 high A's and one B on the tests, and the quizzes are super simple online. The people on here who say it's hard are probably the ones asleep during class every day. Super nice guy but really poor professor. He struggles to explain basic concepts, writes confusing tests, and routinely shows up late to class. Professor Bentley is an incredibly smart guy and there is a lot that may be gleaned from him, but he isn't the best at connecting to others (and in that same way, it is often hard to understand what exactly he wants out of you). He wasn't my favorite, but he also wasn't bad. He makes a lot of jokes to keep things light, just don't be offended.

Dr. Coffey is too smart to be teaching undergraduate students. His comprehensive knowledge of economics is remarkable and is definitely a person to get to know. His lectures are very confusinghe just goes on tangents about his personal life. He makes inappropriate comments in class referring to his exwife as his baby momma spends more time in class telling unhelpful, stupid jokes rather than teaching us the material When the class doesn't respond he pauses the whole lecture to say that we hurt his feelings

Do not take with this teacher. Showed up late to every class and barely taught. Study materials did not line up with actual exams. Not many assignments to help boost grade. Seems like a good guy, but awful teacher.

Doesnt teach well no one goes to class cause its not helpful all tests are on lockdown online but taken in class during class time, if you can take someone else you should. Everyone just taught themselves the material

Really cool guy just doesn't teach/explain the material very well. He would also usually show up to class 5 minutes late and cancel it on short notice.

Dr. Coffey is a great professor and I honestly don't understand why his ratings are so low. He knows his stuff, explains macro in a clear and structured way, and wants students to learn. He's open to questions, gives detailed feedback, and his grading is fair and transparent. If you like economics and put in the work, he's the perfect professor.

Dr.Coffey is obviously well versed in the econ field but he is not suited to teach an entry level class. Even with him using his own textbook to teach, the tests do not match what he teaches. He goes on long rants about random stuff during lectures and is 5-10 minutes late everyday (even for exams). Would not recommend this class for lower econ lvl

If this professor is your only option for the class, take it at community college. Exams do not align with material given on class lecture slides. A lot of the people in the class had to drop. Only plus is that he heavily curves exams because so many people do poorly.

Dr. Coffey is obviously well versed in econ, but he does not know how to teach it at all. He showed up late everyday (even on test days and on the final.) His lectures are boring and drag on and on, all of the work is based on his textbook so good luck. Graded on homework and 3 tests. I would take this class at a community college if possible.

best econ prof. lectures like the teacher in Ferris Bueller, but he knows what he's talking abt and will answer any question. made his own textbook so we wouldn't spend lots, doesn't mind attendance being low. curves exams like crazy even if you already had a good grade. funny, laid back, smart. made micro/macro as manageable as he could, goat.
