He is a great instructor & willing to help/answer questions. Show up to class, take notes & know how to work the suggested problems. The final is tough if you don't go back & review prior material frequently. Will be tough class if you are slow working problems or have difficulty taking timed tests.
The person before me did not cleary pay attention in class. He has the most annoying hyena laugh, and constantly makes mistakes when teaching. His notes are dirty, and he clearly did not want to teach my class. It didnt help that he would always hit on the "older" students.
I had him for Diff Eq and he's a nice guy. He could always answer questions well but he's not extremely entertaining. Overall, it was a good class.
i dropped this class within a month. i usually catch on to math, and i did. i didnt like his messy teaching style, and it was too fast to write notes and pay attention. the problem section SI was just as bad, and always asked "am i doing this right?" arent WE supposed to ask HIM that question? i will retake the class, but not from garrett!!!
sucks, just like the math department as a whole, fast notes, not a lot of explaining, and the notes he gave were examples from the book, i used to love calculus and was really good at it, but i hated this semester
Not a bad teacher, sometimes a bit too fast paced in his teaching. I suggest to ask Q's if you don't understand something because he will stop and go back over it. The TA's are probably better to good to go to for help. Final is definitely one of the hardest taken.
Pretty good teacher. Had him for Cal I and Cal II. Moves quickly in class, but thats why they have problem sections, where specific questions can be addressed. Class tends to deal more with theory and proofs. Tests are tough, and usually stressed for time, but grades are adjusted accordingly.
General Jerk when it came down to it. Was not very interested in teaching students, didn't know what he was teaching. Had difficulties catching him during his office hours, actually I just caught him once. He got mysteriously sick when it was time to rate him also, so I never got a chance to rate him for the school.
I did well in the class but only because i took it for like the second time in a row now.. if u had calculus in high school, this class with this prof should be a breeze. he wasnt too helpful but his TA was freakin AMAZING. he really helped in this class.. i hate how they rush through stuff but hey its UTD . im kinda worried about next sememester.
His class was so boring. He just keeps writing his notes on the board. He could have just given us those notes because he didn't really do anything else.He took attendance few times but then did nothing with it.One time I wanted to talk with him and he was rude. He wouldn't even reply e-mails.I would never take a class from him again.
Hard to follow in class. Notes unclear. One thing I did like is the organization, set syllabus, once quiz a week and four tests. I did most of the learning myself - only reason I did well in this class.
very unorganized with notes, and sometimes not easy to follow along. well, his tests are not that bad if you do the homework. yes, calc. requires a little work. all in all, not a bad professor.
The subject in general is hard, but Garrett didn't make any extra effort to make it easier. It's a short and cumulative so you have to be at every class so you won't get behind. Office hours are the only way to get additional help and examples; the final was difficult. He is a little monotone, but he does try to teach and isn't ineffective at it.
Goes through the material at his own pace, allum is a great techer... look for him
Bentley is not a bad teacher. The students who do not show up for class were the ones that complained, as it reflected in their grades. Not organized, and don't even try to ask for a curve. I made a 92.4 in the class, and he would not give me an A. You have to put in effort, as this is college. Overall, not a bad teacher.
Excellent teacher, was doing great in pre-cal until the last 6 wks - lost me on trig since I never had it before. Will help you if you ask - attend class! I looked forward to his class - he was easy on the eyes, hard on the brain. Not for slackers...
Okay. First of all his notes were soooo messy. All he does is scribble on the board, which I hate! Very unorganized, boring, and way too fast. So glad that I dropped his class. He's very smart yet so horrible at teaching. I do not recommend him.
He was decent, his notes were spread out, but having taken Calculus before, I had an easy time of it. His tests are killer, especially if you are hoping for an easy pass. DON'T Expect anything from the problem sections, they are totally useless. He in particular uses them only for quizzes, and we had a TA that couldn't speak English. Try learning C
Absolutely brilliant mind. Don't listen to those who say he's a bad teacher, they're just bad learners. Calc is hard, get over it. Garrett didn't invent it so it's not his fault.
He knew his stuff, I'll give him that. He had his moments, and could be interesting, but for the most part, he wasn't. Also, explanations lacked clarity. Yes, I'll admit, I'm not that great at math, but his lessons did little to help that.
Garrett's tight, but the class is pretty hard unless you're good at Calc. He knows his stuff but is sometimes hard to follow. Really not a bad teacher, but Calc is hard. He's actually pretty funny...
apparently i'm in the minority, but i really liked garrett! even though he was a bit different, i felt he was overall pretty approachable and funny. as for a utd math class though, it was just what was expected (fast paced and relatively demanding for a person that doesn't care about math)
This is a difficult class ONLY because of the weird time constraints on exams. Garrett teaches Calculus the way it should be taught, I think. However, I really do think that you have to think a certain way to like him and you have to show him that you have an interest in the subject material. He always treated me with respect and tried to help me.
Very nice guy, he just knows his stuff 'too' well, and sort of expects that everyone can grasp calculus as he does. Chooses VERY difficult questions for quizzes and exams.
He tried his best to make the subject as hard as possible.
horrible class!! all the professor have the exact same tests so they are all hard. He does try and help you understand if you come for extra help. VERY strict on grading!!
Tests are entirely too hard, and I did somewhat well in the class. My class started with over 100 students, and by the middle of the semester, there was a little over 50, they either dropped or went to the Math Lab, because he tends to get answers wrong when he is lecturing. Not a very good professor at all, tends to get frustrated easily.
Dr.Bentley Garrett is one of the best profs at UTD. Most of the people who think he is "entirely too hard" are just a bunch of panzies who need to suck it up. Calculus is not supposed to be easy, so don't expect it to be. Garrett's lectures are incredible, and he is extremely helpful outside of class. He cares for his students and is very approachabl
Calculus is a hard subject. This class is not for Slackers. Show up, pay attention and DO THE HOMEWORK. Everything on the quizzes and exams is from the homework problem. Its really not a matter of working hard as much as just staying current and organized.
There is a lot of material to cover in Calc 1 so he zips by the lectures. I got A's on the first 3 tests but the final is quite difficult. I had an excellent TA, Wettingfeld, for my problem session. Try not to miss class because there's a lot of material you might miss! The teacher is not awful but he's not very interesting either.
Garrett is a great professor. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to do well in the class. He explains things well and does a lot of examples. The tests are reasonable, but I highly recommend doing the homework and taking the problems sessions seriously, because they do help.
Dr. Garrett is a very good professor. He knows the material and explains it clearly. He provides a lot of examples and practice exams that are very similar to the actual exams. If you want to pass this class, you need to do the homework and study for the quizzes.
If you are not planning on going to class very often, it doesn't matter what professor you take because all sections take the same tests and quizzes which make up 100% of your grade. Otherwise, I think Garrett was alright. He is easy to understand but it's calculus; it's not easy. Homework is optional but if you expect to pass, do all of it.
CAL II - This is a no nonsense teacher. Calculus is not meant to be easy. If you attend class and do the homework. YOU WILL KNOW YOUR STUFF. Had a kickass TA - Wettingfeld. TA made all the difference. Show up to class, do the homework, tests are easy.
Amazing professor! Only teaches DiffEq in summer, but it is completely worth it! Explains everything clearly, fully answers questions, and is very lenient on grading. He is a real down-to-earth prof. who likes to teach and cares about his students.
Very good teacher! Speaks English 100% and understandable. The material was hard for me. Garret himself was an extremely nice guy. Very helpful, approachable, and understanding that most people don't breath math. Garret is a great teacher. The math tho, was challenging. Take this guy if you have the chance. I would take him again.
Garrett is a nice enough guy, but trying to teach calculus is not his strong suit. Quizzes and tests were similar to the homework, but not exactly doable if you are taking other time-consuming classes.
A good teacher. A bit boring, I sometimes dozed off in his class. But he knows his material and gives examples on the board. Math is a tough subject to some peeps tho so you have to study hard for the class.
Professor Garrett knows exactly what he's doing. He's an amazing teacher and actually wants students to understand the material. Calculus is so much less intimidating! Initially he looked kinda intimidating too, but he's actually a great guy. If you don't pay attention or go to class your screwed, so go.
Dr. Garrett is a great teacher. Really cares about students actually learning and understanding the material. Tests are pretty hard, but homework is easy and only assigned once a week. Take Garrett if yoiu have the opportunity.
!!good
quizes strait from hw(do hw get A on quiz) tests and quizes multiple choice, tests not too hard (unless you dont study old quizes).
Easy to understand and very helpful. Best math teacher here in my opinion.
DR Garrett is awesome! Take him! He is easy to understand and a very nice, approachable guy. I strongly urge you to take him for whatever math class you are taking.
Dr. Garrett is my favorite math teacher. He moves through the material quickly but there is still enough time to ask questions. He is available when you need help and quick to answer emails. I definitely recommend him because of his great teaching style and clarity of expectations. Dr. Garrett makes Calculus easier to understand and manageable.
Great professor! Never tries to guilt trip students, never has a problem concepts that students forget. His office hours are extremely helpful.
Dr. Garrett is an amazing teacher. Diff Eq is a hard class, make no mistake, but he does his absolute best to put the material forth in a way that really helps you out. Do the homework, do the practice tests, work with a small group, and mostly - TALK TO HIM and you'll do fine! :-)
Very helpful, highly intelligent, knows how to think in the perspective of the student. Doesn't seem to get as much credit as he deserves around here.
Hes a great math professer
Lots of material, but as long you read and do your homework, it wont be hard. He explains the material very well.
The material is hard and he moves fast. He's a good teacher though and he explained everything pretty clearly. He didn't give any curves though. He took attendance but it didn't count towards anything. Go to class and you'll do well.
Great professor. Write everything from class, do all practice problems and you'll make an A. Quizzes and homework due every Tuesday. Highly recommend.
Calculus is a very hard class in general but I would recommend him out of all the other professors to take for this class. He is very helpful and I would recommend getting the book. The labs associated with the class was the hardest part, the TA i had wasn't very clear. Study hard for this class and you should do fine.
Excellent instructor. Very clear and concise. He clearly knows what he's doing not only about Calculus, but about teaching it as well.
Calculus at UTD is quite difficult. This professor knows his math. He teaches it pretty well and is approachable if you have questions. He can also be pretty funny sometimes. The class had written homework and online homework. Quizzes are done in the problem sections every week. There were two tests and a final. MATH 2414 is harder.
Dr. Garrett goes REALLY fast with his examples. I barely had enough time to write everything down before he erases it. As a person, he is really nice but he needs to slow down a bit during his lectures. He's really knowledgeable on calculus. Use his office hours. There is no need to take PLTL for this class in my opinion.
Dr. Garrett is very clear and helpful, and seems like a pretty nice guy. Does examples all class long that are very easy to follow. Quizzes and homework online weren't too difficult, just time consuming. Exams were medium difficulty question we had already been over. Got somewhat lost the last few chapters.
Had taken integral calc before in high school but didn't make the AP score necessary. Garret made the material very clear, and the material covered on the exams very clear as well. I did put in effort every week and attended office hours, but math is my weak subject. Never thought I'd attain an A. Wonderful professor; not a boring professor either.
Professor Garrett is teaches calulus really well! He teaches you everything you need to know. Going to every class and doing the homework helped! :)
Dr. Garret is very nice and helpful! He does go pretty quickly when doing examples, but he always pauses to make sure everyone is on the same page.
Really good at explaining the material. He gives enough examples during the class which makes it hard to keep up with the notes.
Excellent!
Dr. Garrett speaks in a similar tone to Sheldon Cooper - a very fun man. Calculus is hard, but he'll get you through it. He is very insistent on asking at the start of class if you had questions. He will keep on going if you don't ask questions so YOU MUST ASK. This tends to make the class go by very fast, but learn the pace. (fall 2013)
Awesome professor, take him
Great teacher and good attitude. He explains the material well, speaks clearly, respects students and never talks down to them. He has a warm personality and occasionally makes lighthearted jokes. Sometimes his handwriting can be hard to read and his lectures aren't always presented in a note friendly format.
Friendly, but does that matter in the end? Sat in on other professors and they presented material more clearly.
It was a hard class but he did as much as he could to make sure you understand the material. I liked him but he wasn't the best math professor I have ever had.
The tests are straightforward but notoriously difficult and are standard for all of the calc classes no matter the professor you choose. His lectures are clear and concise; if you take good notes, you will have everything you need. I would readily take another class from him.
I took Professor Garrett's Differential Calculus course for lecture only. His lectures greatly clarified the material, and I think it very important to getting a good grade in the class. The way he explained the concepts, explained what the shortcuts meant, and his method of instruction was beneficial to my grade in the course.
Dr Garrett is the best math professor I have ever had, and all my math professors have been great. His lectures made complete sense, and my understanding of the material didn't just vanish when I started the hw. If you pay attention, he drops hints ALL THE TIME for what'll be on the GHW. I suck at math, but I loved his class.
Dr Garrett is by far the best professor I've had at UTD. Explains things very well and always takes questions even if you interrupt to ask. I have never seen him disrespect a student for asking a question, unlike my other math professors. Highly recommend taking Dr Garrett if you know you will be asking questions or struggling with the subject.
He is the best, honestly. Also make sure to do PLTL. His examples are so clear and he is not mean or anything when you ask even THE simplest of questions, and I have definitely had experience of that ;)
I found the class difficult but the professor gave good lectures.
The most clear and easy to understand professor I have had. Always answers questions and really wants you to understand the material. People who say he is hard to follow are the people that skip class and don't pay attention. Easiest way to get a good grade in this class is to actually go to class and do the homework.
Dr. Garret is possibly one of the best math professors you can get in any university. He's very enthusiastic about what he teaches, gives amazing lectures, and never hesitates to answer questions. He also cracks a few jokes here and there. The course is a lot of work and very fast paced, but that's not his fault. That's just the curriculum.
Professor Garrett is a very nice and laid back guy who gives good lectures with tons of example problems. He will not hesitate to answer any questions throughout class. It is pretty fast paced but the material itself is not hard if you do the online homework and come to class everyday as he doesn't post any notes online.
I never had a problem understanding any of the material in this course if I went to class. Dr. Garrett is really good at explaining the theories without the lecture getting boring
Professor Garrett is the best math teacher I have ever had! He makes the material easy to understand and is really invested in making sure everyone is up to speed during the lecture. He is really intuitive in knowing when the class is kind of lost and will go back and remind you of even how to do some algebra steps to get the answer.
Dr Garrett is really friendly plus he always demonstrates the concepts clearly, gives ample examples and is willing to clear up any confusions for you.
Dr Garrett is one of the best math professors at UTD. His lectures are very clear and easy to understand and he answers questions very well. Very helpful
Solid teacher, would definitely recommend him for Calculus. Good at explaining and does lots of examples. Homework is tough and unnecessary but that's the fault of the math department.
An adorable, dorky old man who LOVES math. His teaching is very example-based, which is good for when you're doing the homework. He goes pretty fast but that's not his fault, the curriculum is simply difficult and has a lot of concepts to cover. 10/10 recommend this guy, he really cares about his students and wants to make sure they really get it.
He drowns you in so many examples its hard to understand whats going on. Ive found myself focused more on writing then understanding the material. The lectures were so fasted pace that we were learning new material a solid week before each test and even then he doesnt review for the tests.
Dr. Garret is the best professor I have had in my entire career as a student. I have never had a more knowledgeable, kind, engaging, and entertaining professor. I have had a general hatred for math as long as I can remember, however, taking integral calculus completely changed that for me! His teaching has inspired me to take more math classes!!
He was a great teacher that answered any questions. However I always learned best in the problem section rather than lecture but thats just me. He goes over lots of examples in class that are similar to hw and exams.
This class is very hard, and will require a lot of extra work outside of class no matter which professor you take. That being said, if you do take Garrett, he will do a good job of teaching the material and is humorous. He does have a review class the day of the exam but you will need to review a lot more to be successful.
Difficult subject, but Dr. Garrett gives lots of examples and is easy to follow. I was surprised at his low score because I think hes a great lecturer. Lots of dad jokes too.
Garrett is an excellent professor and clearly explains the content in class. He is extremely approachable and will help outside of class.
Garrett gives lots of examples and explains concepts thoroughly. Calculus is a difficult course but he teaches everything you need to do well in it. Because he covers topics intensively, I often found myself dozing off, taking notes mindlessly. I learned the most in my math labs but the copious examples he goes over prepares you for success. Funny!
You are given practically mountains of homework. However, I believe this professor softens all the blows. Giving you small jokes on the side but also solid examples from concepts. I would say this professor is a good choice. He moves rather quickly so it may be challenging to understand all the concepts, do your part!
Funny, passionate professor. He goes through plenty of examples but you definitely have to work hard. He does however fall a bit behind at times whereas I've heard other professors finish the material early and allow their students to review for a week before exams. Put LOTS of effort into the homework and you will be able to get an A.
Dr Garrett is one of the best math professors at UTD. He is hilarious and keep the lectures interesting with his awkward jokes and quirky personality, is extremely understanding and soft spoken and always willing to help you after class. His lecture is example heavy that are harder than the test so the test usually are easier. Take this professor
Dr. Garrett is the best professor I've ever had. Every class, he is genuinely excited to teach, extremely knowledgable, and very engaging (by making jokes). He constantly makes the class think for themselves and guides them to the right conclusion. One of my favorite things about the class is how organized and professional Dr. Garret is
Dr. Garrett is a pretty funny and caring professor. He'll stay with you after class if you want to discuss something or help you over email. His constant jokes keep the lecture entertaining and removes the pressure from the subject. As with most math courses ultimately , your grade largely depends on personal effort and understanding however.
I took him during the Fall of 2018 here at UTD. I am not very good at math, and I had to work very hard to get the grade I got. He is extremely good at explaining the concepts and is a very funny/charismatic guy. I wish I would have done better but oh well. it's in the past!
Explains very well. Much better than many other math professors. Lectures are really good. Covers everything well. Tells you important information. Very easy to understand. Answers questions very well. Take him over any other 2414 prof. Of course the class is hard in general so just a good professor won't help. You have to study for it.
He was awesome. Posted all of the notes online. Learned a lot from him! Didn't really study or show up to class and still easily got a B+. Great teacher for any class you need him for.
He makes the content enjoyable, accessible & understandable for everyone, regardless of programming or math experience. Do not recommend skipping, you will fall behind. Explains concepts well, lots of assignments, makes you work for your grade, high key has cryptid/eldritch/immortal vibes. 10/10
Dr Garrett doesn't assume any prior programming knowledge, so whether you're a beginner or a MATLAB pro the class is good. There are weekly homeworks submitted through a computer grader with unlimited attempts, and you can go to office hours if you get stuck. Tests are straightforward if you take notes and pay attention.
Dr. Garrett is one of the best lecturers I've had at UTD. He's great at explaining complex topics, and he thoroughly goes through many examples during class that are helpful on the homework assignments. His lecture style admittedly didn't translate well when UTD went online, but for in-person lectures he was amazing. Solid choice for integral calc.
Professor Garrett does a decent job explaining the code from each lesson, but many topics don't require a lecture to learn if you read the textbook.
I would recommend him to anyone taking 2414. I loved his class and he goes through so many example problems for each concept. There is a lot of homework but if you do it all you should have no problem getting an A in the class. Take him!
Dr. Garrett is engaging and funny, he puts a heavy emphasis on examples which helped me a lot. 2414 is graded the same across all the professors so I can't really say that he's an easy or hard grader. He does prepare you for the tests though so I would recommend him
Dr. Garrett is one of my favorite professors at UTD. I took him previously for MATH2414 and his lectures are very good that build a good conceptual foundation followed by lots of examples. He also makes sure to go over the concepts covered in the homework in class and gave really good practice exams before the real thing.
Dr. Garrett is a great professor! He is kind and answers questions clearly during class. He is accessible outside of class by email and responds quickly. He sometimes gets behind the other professors in the combined exam section(where all of the grading is done), but makes sure to have due dates adjusted. His lectures are clear and engaging. GREAT!
Despite class being online, Professor Garrett managed to make class engaging and interesting. He genuinely cares that you succeed. During each lecture and before every exam, he takes the time to answer questions and go over core concepts. Of course, you have to make sure to put in your own effort, attend class, and take notes.
He has in-depth knowledge of the material, and is very responsive to students' questions. He often asks the class questions in lecture to make sure we're keeping up, and will go over concepts again in a different way if we aren't. Difficult course material, but he does a good job at breaking down concepts to make it more digestible.
Dr. Garrett definitely made learning in an online environment more engaging with his humor and in-lecture questions to make sure we're paying attention. He will go over key concepts in a way that is easy to take in, so you're fine as long as you pay attention and jot down the key concepts during the lectures.
Dr. Garrett is an amazing professor. His extensive knowledge and passion for the course material, as well as his sense of humor, made every lecture fun, and he caused me to genuinely enjoy a topic I never would've looked twice at. His lectures are clear, and his assignments do an excellent job of reiterating the course material in an engaging way.
I have had Prof. Garrett twice and he is always a really nice and considerate professor. Generous grader in a pretty difficult class. Lets you have cheat sheets on exams which makes them way easier and drops lowest homework grades. Always accessible by email, really sweet guy!
Great Prof. Very caring. Do the HW do the review exam. Review exam is almost identical to the exam. Take him
I struggled in this course because I had no programming experience before this course and Dr. Garrett teaches to the kids who have superb knowledge in the subject rather than the genuine novices. This is literally an introductory course so it shouldn't have been fast-paced to the point that once you're lost, it's basically impossible to catch up.
Homework assignments are almost fun to complete in this class, and they are very helpful in understanding the subject material. Professor spends every class teaching and assisting students while cracking the occasional joke. Honestly felt like a high-school class.
Funniest professor ever. Lectures balanced concepts, theorems, proofs, and examples. Tests were in-class and allowed cheat sheets. Prior Matlab knowledge isn't needed. Ample time to do the long homeworks. Lowest grade is dropped for both the on-paper and Matlab homework. Reviews for tests are comprehensive. Review sessions are normally done online.
The lectures are very informative. The exams aren't too bad if you actually study the content. The worst part of this class is probably the homework. There's an assignment every week and it takes several hours to complete.
Lectures are very useful and informative, so I'd recommend attending them. There is lots of homework that takes hours to do, but it's great review for the weekly quizzes during the problem sections and for the exams. The exams aren't that bad either, and you have plenty of time to complete them.
GOATED professor. I didn't do as well as I wanted to but oh well. Leads by examples (so good) for learning. DHW are doable if you do 3-4 problems per day (gives you one week). TA is super nice. Overall, one of the best professors for this class.
Awesome professor. He was funny and engaging. I liked how he did so many examples in class and was always making sure we knew what was happening. I sat in the front and I liked how he asked questions because I felt like I knew what was going on. We learned a lot but his lectures never felt rushed. I would 100% take him again.
His lectures are engaging, educational, and overall very nicely organized. Gives a wide variety of examples and explains why they might be right/wrong. As a person, he's very caring, hilarious, and smart. From personal experience, if you go to his office hours for extra help, he's always willing and happy to help. Overall great professor. Take him!
If you get the chance, definitely take him! Try to attend all of his classes. He breaks down concepts very well and is very approachable.
Teaches and explains every detail. Very approachable if you have questions. Funniest guy I know (I roll over laughing in his lectures all the time). HW was assigned every week and due the Monday midnight after that week. You have about two weeks to do GHW when they're assigned.Just do your homework and the reviews then the exams should be a breeze!
Explains concepts very well and makes connections between different ideas very clear. The tests are easy if you do the homework and extra test review material. Very good teacher.
His lectures are very insightful and helps compared to other professors. 1 homework packet of 20-30Qs a week, quizzes weekly, and 3 exams that account for majority of the grade. Overall not overly hard while making the contents of the course understandable and enjoyable (as enjoyable and engaging as math can be)
Bentley is a hilarious and engaging prof. His lectures are super informative, with lots of examples to hammer home the concepts. The homework is time-consuming but really helpful. I'd recommend using Unstuck AI alongside the textbook for study prep.
This professor is hilarious and funny in the way he teaches the course content. Privately, he'll make sure you understand the material and guide you through the problem at hand. Personally, I felt the grading criteria for exams was not too fair, but I'll let it slide since you do get two quiz drops (except the last one) and straightforward works.
He explains the concept then gives examples, but sometimes he goes through examples quickly. He does ask for class participation but doesn't force it and lets the class know if he needs to slow down. All handwritten/no slides, attendance not required, funny guy
Attend all his lectures and complete all the assignments on your own at first. Attending his lectures helped me understand the assignments better. If you can handle all the digital homework on your own, the exams and quizzes are super easy and you're on track for an A.
Probably the best teacher I have had so far. Content is kind of hard, but going to his lectures helps immensely. Would take it again if I needed another math.
He is probably the most Texan professor at UTD( W southern accent). His lectures are very informative and he makes sure everyone in the class understands the concepts. Gives good advice and tips on how to workaround difficult questions as well.
Except for his handwriting, everything about this professor is fantastic.
Professor Garrett was an amazing professor. Although the class material itself was difficult, he was able to summarize it in simple ways, guiding us step-by-step and answering questions along the way. He's incredibly friendly, as well as hilarious, and I wouldn't mind taking him again. It's because of his teaching that I got an A+.
He knows what he's doing and genuinely wants to make sure he's doing a good job at lecturing. I got C- just because I missed lectures and crammed the day before exam ;) Only reason I won't take him again is his notes. He basically writes everything down from scratch on spot. If you're a slow writer and if you miss one, you'll miss everything.
Great accent
w professor. he teaches in a way where you actually learn the information. the lectures are clear and the material is very easy. the main hardest part is the exams. grading can be quite strict, and small mistakes can have a noticeable impact on your score.
