Although it is a 1301 survey course I would not take this class as a 1st semester student (you'll want to have your study skills somewhat fine-tuned). Be sure your reading and writing skills are up to par before taking this course, otherwise you will struggle a bit! Assignments are pretty liberal, fairly graded, and also really cool and fun!

I found myself engaged in the lectures. Tough material but she made it interesting. You must read and comprehend to be successful. All tests are answered in one sentence or essay form. Must commit a lot of concepts to memory. Professor Benton was one of my more memorable teachers. I highly recommend her philosophy course.

The book will be your savior, if you read the chapters assigned you will do great on the tests. You have like 3 small essays if I remember correctly which are not hard and I am not a writer by any means. The final exam is just another test and if you do great on all other tests you don't even have to take the final. She will work with you!

Professor Benton, She is hotest teacher I have met, I mean she is sweet, she always give us the free thinking on phil class, and assignment and test is not too hard if you work hard, and 1 more group speech during the semester, but she don't like people absent or use an e-device during the class. Best of 3 for your final grade, and many bonus credit

I'm glad I can finally post/comment on something without a teacher, this particular teacher, responding with overly opinionated nonsense. A good teacher is supposed to respectfully teach and inform their students, not disrespectfully misguide and criticize them. I'm warning y'all, there are far better options out there when taking philosophy!

I've never been so angry and frustrated at a teacher until I ran into Luisa Benton. Why be a college professor if all you're going to spew is elementary level feedback with little to no reasonable explanations to back up what you've said? I could have taught myself. Wouldn't take again

Unnecessary animosity when you communicate with her. Makes you want to run away. Apathetic and unpractical emails.

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! Unnecessary emails, she claims to not grade based on your opinion being right or wrong but SHE WILL, things have to be her way. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I opened the course the first day and then dropped because of how much work she expected. Dont even think of trying to take her class.

Rudest professor I've ever had. Does not care for her students at all. Will fail you even if you try your hardest.

She gave me a 57 for a research proposal. (I have a 4.0 GPA currently.) I wrote an email saying absolutely not- your feedback is incorrect. She literally made me change my research topic to one SHE wanted me to write about. Her feedback on my final paper makes me wonder if she even read my paper. WORST professor I have ever had.
