Professor Davis knows her material and is extremely interesting. Don't miss even one class because every one of her questions for the tests come strait from her lectures. Pay attention to her details because thats whats on the tests, not the basics.

She is awful! She is monotone and unengaging. The enitre class is spent listening to her ramble, she never actual talks to you, she talks at you until you're blue in the face. Horrible class!

If you like hearing about the more personal side of history (unkowns about poeple and happenings) take her class!! Definately not your run of the mill "dates and events" type of teaching. TAKE GOOD LECTURE NOTES!!!

Overall, good teacher. You don't need the book. All you need is to take notes on her daily lectures, which is a lot. I aced 2 of her tests, but on the final, I must have gotten a B because I ended up with a B+.

Davis is the best teacher. Im actually thinking about changing my major to hisyory now because of this class. Take notes and dont miss class. She is very helpful and really enjoys what she does. Take her and you wont be sorry.

Very boring lectures and a ton of slide shows!!! Always chewing gum, and gets kind of annoying! Pretty hard tests- at least for me! I wouldn't recommend her!!

Great teache, anyone who takes history should take her. she will teach things that you would never otherwise know. very nice and helpfull. just come to class and be prepareed to take notes.

Whoever said she chews gum and shows alot of slides rated the wrong Davis. I have taken three classes from her. She never chews gum and has a policy against it. Also. she has never shown a slide, at least not in my classes. A great teacher!

Glazes over history. Absent constantly. Tried to cover 50 years of history in 1 day. Very patriotic and pro-government. Tests are on a mixture of random factoids and important events although lectures seem to focus on the most uninteresting factoids with her random crack ball theory. Trick questions, read thoroughly. Opinionated questions. Got B.

Because of Prof. Davis I am now a history major. She is a fabulous instructor. She arrives on time, is organized, clear about what she expects from the students,talks about very interesting aspects of history, and is funny and very caring. I would take another class from her; she's great!

I really liked Prof.Davis. She was very prompt and organized and always let us know exactly what she expected of us. It seemed like she genuinely wanted to help her students learn and pass. Not a lot of homework but TONS of notes.Don't really need the book to pass- just make sure you take really good notes- Great teacher, easy class!

I love Her ! I took an extra history class b/c she was teaching it. She loves group discussions and is open to any point of view. She is not an easy A, you have to study, but most of the test material comes from inclass notes. TAKE HER!!!

Good Professor! I enjoyed her class; her lectures were interesting and easy to follow. And if you have questions, just email her - she will definetely respond. Show up every day and take detailed notes and you will get an A.

Professor Davis is a good teacher over all. But her style of teaching is hard to follow. She has little to no visuals, she lectures like she is telling a story. She jumps back and forth which makes it very hard to take notes. You will be taking A LOT of notes. Her tests are easy and she grades on a curve, but she grades way too hard!

Her lectures are not boring at all, theirs no homework, only 3 tests and a final, which were all cake if you just came to class and took notes. I never read the book and got an A.

The only problem I had with this class is that the description of the class was 20th century US history. Only the last 2 weeks of class were about the 20th century, we only got as far as the depression. The entire class revolved around the colonial times, the revolution, and the civil war. I wanted to learn about the 1900's and above!

Never take this teacher. She only likes people who will kiss up to her, and she is very stuck up. Homework and tests are very hard. Class would probably be interesting if it was taught by another professor. Don't recommend.

I took her class in summer school and I found her to be a very arrogant and difficult teacher to have. She would say one thing on her syllabus and her lecture/tests would reflect something completely different. She teaches as if you already have a clear understanding and somewhat of an interest in what she speaks about.

SHe is a very good teacher! I am taking her this semster and she is very in depth with all the history. She tells it like you are there and describes it very well. It isnt boring. Make sure to take good notes, read the chapters on time to understand the information, as well as ask questions so you can pass the tests. Ilove her personality!

Mrs. Davis is awesome! Although most the class is lectures, she keeps you interested through stories she knows about history and pertaining it to today. You can always stop her and ask questions, and she's organized and clear. i hate history, and i like this class

I am so glad that I took her class. Ms. Davis is a great teacher and very helpful. I actually learned so much from this class and lecture was fun! Test was a little hard but she gave us reviews, which were really helpful. I don't think textbook is necessary because her tests were all from lecture notes.

She lectured the whole time! it was very boring and I had no will to listen. I was impossible. What she lectured on honestly was not useful for the test. Sometimes she would go off on a different subject and then shift back onto track, but it was very confusing. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER CLASS!!

This was a great class. She gave out study guides for the tests, held daily reviews and her lectures were very interesting. She really cares about the students. If you study and take good notes her exams are easy to pass. She's one of the best professors that i've had.

Davis is a good teacher because she has a passion for history and really loves what she does. Her lectures can be tough to sit through but a good cup of coffee and a good night's sleep the night before should do you okay. Just take good notes and study them a bit every day and you'll do fine. Recommended.

Professor Davis was one of my favorite teachers I have had so far at Saddleback. She always seems to be in a good mood and her TESTS ARE SUPER EASY.As long as you show up to class and pay attention you will do well. And i didn't even get a text book and i got an A on all my tests. She is a great teacher

Good teacher, very knowledgable. All lecture, take notes and the tests are not too hard (m/c). She tells you lots of interesting facts that liven up the material. One research paper, about 6-8pgs. I would definitely take her again.

Prof. Davis is a wonderful instructor! If you need to take US History, she is the one to take. The lecture is interesting and fast paced (6 week class) and the exams are based on lecture. Go to class, pay attention and take notes and you will do fine. If you have to take US History for transfer she is highly recommended!

Very nice teacher and easy... doesn't require the text but it does help if you choose not to go to class. Very interesting lectures, only has 3 test (and you drop the lowest score), no hw, and tends to let you out early at times. Def, recommend her!

prof. Davis was extremely helpful and had very interesting lectures. The thing I loved the most about her was that she didnt have a political agenda and didnt bash anyone. I also enjoyed the many interesting stories she told in class about historical people and events; this definitely helped me remember the material during the test.

Only 3 exams.Multiple choice, short answer and essay on each. Lowest score dropped.She talks a lot about people/events you may have never heard of before.Some of the info seemed almost irrelevant to talk about since it is a basic US history class.Didn't get very far in US history because of this.Don't sit anywhere near the back you will get ignored

The BEST history class I have ever taken. If you need to take HIST 22 - Davis is the way to go. I don't really care for History, but Davis makes it interesting! Tests are easy if you study. No need for a book, just pay attention and take good notes in class. Do youself a huge favor, go to the Nixon Library for the extra credit - you wont regret it!

Prof. Davis is cool. She is really nice and is there for any help you might need. you MUST go to class. or have someone take really good notes for you. The tests are entirely on her notes. so if you go to class you will find the tests rather easy. offers some extra credit. no homework tho.

Professor Davis was an aewsome teacher. The class IS History. That said, she does a good job of keeping the class interseting. She has a degree as a Cultural Historian, so she share more then what the book says. If you pay attention to the study guide you'll get an A also!

I LOVED Professor Davis! She knew her stuff and you could easily see the passion she had for the subject. Go to class, take notes on the lectures, and skim over the reading and you should do well. The lectures are key! Great professor!

omg boring!!! After reading all these previous comments, I thought this class would be awesome. NOT.. Its actually physically painful to sit and listen to her its that boring. Plus everything she tests is off her point of view as to how history was written. Its her way or the highway and nothing you've learn before this class will help, only hurt!

Yeah I also read these comments going into the class thinking it will be interesting. It's basically lecture all class. No homework. Test are medium difficuly. The short answers you must see history from her point of view to get the full points. Overall kind of a boring class. Just show up and listen and study for the test and you will do alright.

Prof. Davis is a great prof. What I really appreciated was the fact that she always answered my emails immediately when I had questions. I did not find her to be biased at all. It was refreshing not to have to sit through the usual ultra left everything is wrong with America stuff.She showed me the pluses and minuses of what our country has done.

She makes up her own ideas and opinions about stuff. attendance is a must. If you miss a class your in trouble because her crazy brain holds all the answers.

Honestly i'm not a good test taker and i got an A in the class. If you show up and take the best notes that you can then you don't need to use the book. Ask questions the following day she likes to know that you care. memorize the stuff on the study guide and you will be fine.

Nice lady, interesting class! 2 papers, 3 tests, and attendance make up your grade. Definitely recommended for history majors. She's a history buff and knows her subject well. Be sure to take good notes and study what she tells you on the study guide. You can easily get an A or a B if you just try. Hope to take her again! :)

Attendance is taken every class & is worth 3 points, if you're late, you only get 1 point. Three non-comprehensive tests, including final are multiple choice but still quite difficult. She does at least a couple short (2-3 page) papers based on videos shown in class. Enjoys her subject. Extra credit is available but not worth much.

She knows he stuff inside and out. Take good notes, review the book and ask questions if you miss something. Attendence is taken and counts against you if it becomes a problem. Tests are m/c and t/f plus a short essay. Grades on a class performance curve which helped a lot of students. Truly would take her again.

She is a really fair teacher, easy tests as long as you take good notes, and she grades on a curve. I hate history classes but i actually didnt mind going to her class at all. This is a very challenging class but if you take extensive notes and review them often you wont need a book. Your grade is made up of four exams. Each of them is a multiple choise test with an in-class essay. However, the final exam has two in-cass essays. She grades the exams on a curve and drops your lowest test score.

She was a horrible professor, she didn't show on the very first day. She only goes based on her notes only. Talks way way too fast. Her exam, she gives you study guide. nonetheless, she does not got base on her study guide. show up thogh, attendence is a must. I don't recommend her at all.

Prof. Davis is truly one of the finest instructors I have ever had. She is very fair, grades on a curve, drops lowest test score and offer extra credit. Her lectures and fun and interesting. I am taking her again in the fall and recommend her to all!

Professor Davis is a nice teacher. She is not bias so it is nice for a hist. class. 4 tests which are scantron & essay. The final is not cumulative, but is the same format as her other tests. The final has 2 essays & a scantron. She also drops the lowest test score and grades on a curve which is nice. Take good notes & have a study group if needed.

3 tests, each one has an essay(2 choices you pick 1), and then the final with two essays. Drops lowest test score. Very approachable and nice. She takes points off when you are gone, I think you allowed to miss 3 classes without if effecting your grade. I learned a lot in this class and enjoyed it pretty well considering im not that into history.

Mrs. Davis rocks! You can tell she enjoys her job because she's very knowledgeable and informative in all of her lectures. Notes are taken more from what she says than what's on the slides, so pay attention! Tests are mild-moderately difficult, but she provides study guides for every exam and grades on a curve. I'd definitely have her again :)

I really enjoyed her class. Every lecture is super interesting. She lectures like telling a story, so it would be smart to revise your notes after. But she offers extra credit, drops your lowest test score, and curves every test. What more could you possibly ask for? Great teacher.

I love her. I wish I could sit down with a bag of popcorn and a coke. Her lectures are great. Her tests are exactly what she says they are going to be. Study her note, record the lecture. Don't talk in class...that is her biggest issue; sometimes the students are disrespectful I wish I needed more classes taught her.

I didn't really like history before taking this class. Prof. Davis is really passionate about history and it kinda rubs off on you. You really know what to study. She gives you a study guide for each exam and each question is from it and you know the essay questions ahead of time. Her lectures are really interesting. Prof. Davis - awesome!

She is a very boring teacher and is also very rude. Her class is solely based off of three tests and a in class essay. no homework. so you better be a good test taker. if you ask her questions she is really rude about it, and is not very helpful.

Professor Davis is awesome. Gives study guides for her two tests and final exam (not an accumulative final), lets class out early if she finished early, gives long 30 minute class breaks, and offers extra credit. She has only one writing assignment all semester, and played at least 3 historical type documentaries throughout class. TAKE HER

Her lectures are like stories, you learn stuff you normally wouldn't about history. She loves what she does. 1 EC assgn. MUST ATTEND. I didn't use the book and got Bs on exams (MC, TF & essay), drops 1. Take good notes, record lectures if you have to, she wants you to pass. I was so scared of this class and almost dropped but it turned out easy!

Pros: No homework, makes history interesting, Cons: Severe rudeness towards students, including special needs students. Very arrogant. She needs a swift kick in the pants. Very difficult to tell what's important. Most of her information is given in an oral, story-telling format with lots of fun facts. Would work if there were no tests but alas.

I found Professor Davis to be an amazing instructor. She was clear in her expectations, polite to all students, we in fact had a guy with "issues" and she was so sweet to him. He actuially came out of his shell because of her interaction with him. I would take her again anytime. What was wrong with the last dude????

If you're smart, you'll take her. Her lectures are very interesting and go hand in hand with the 3 tests that you'll take (just take good notes and read the textbook chapters). Those 3 tests and 1 in-class essay (and I use the term "essay" loosely... Pretty much a creative writing assignment) make up your semester grade. HIGHLY recommended!

She is very kind and sweet, history is pretty entertaining with her because of the fun facts. If you are not sure what's important just check her study guides. She curves grades and gives extra credit. 3 multiple choice and true and false tests that are not difficult if you pay attention to her lectures and study the book's chapters

this teacher on the first day of class was very intimidating but as long as you take good notes and do everything she says the class is easy. dont miss class so u can take notes for the test. no study guides. also no homework but she does assign a paper on a movie she makes u watch. i got an A, she gives extra credit also

The best part about this class is her tests and no hw. They are very fair and she provides you with essay questions before the exam so you can prep. However - She did not show up to class on her first day and also has been sick or unable to go to classes multiple times. But then snaps at students when late to class because the door is distracting?

Her lectures are fun to listen to. I recommend recording her lectures and listening to them before tests since that hellped me a lot. Her test questions are very twisted and somewhat unclear. 4 exams, one will be dropped (not the 4th one). 4th test is your final, theres a cumulative section. Will provide study guides for all exams.

Great teacher!! Do not skip class or you will not pass unless you get the notes from someone else! She kind of talks fast so except to be writing or typing the whole class you literally do not get a break! Tests were not bad at all just study and you will do fine! Essay Test/Questions are easy because she gives you them before and lets you pick one

Second time taking Davis for history. Lectures the entire class period. Must take notes or won't pass. All notes are on the test. Class taught me so much, made me like history. She misses class a lot so there's no reason to miss on your own time. She also assigns extra credit and takes your lowest test grade away. never used book.

I am not a history person at all and was really dreading taking this class, but Professor Davis is AMAZING!!!! Her lectures are great and she is really good at making everything very clear. She gives study guides and also posts the essay questions in advance so you have plenty of time to prepare!! I loved this class and she is an AMAZING teacher

One of my all time favorite classes and professors. She gives great lectures that involve her teaching the subject by telling stories. There 4 exams which included the final and one paper, no homework and you never used the book. You do have to pay attention to her notes because her powerpoint is an outline to each lecture, no notes on the PP's

So I took her for a friday class and it ended up being three tests. The third test was cumulative and all three were pretty difficult. I did not pass this class despite my effort on each test. I would not recommend this professor. At this point, I have to retake it but it wont be with her.

Overall, I would say in order to pass this class, be prepared to attend everyday. Her lectures are always fun and interesting but she teaches the entire class. Take LOTS of notes! The majority of information that she says in class are on the exams. Don't be afraid to ask her questions! She loves it when people ask for help.

Professor Davis is clearly passionate about history. The tests are based on the lectures and the book. If you miss class.. read the book. If you do not get a book... do not miss class. Try and write down everything she says and you will receive an A in class. I loved every class and thoroughly enjoyed the extra credit. she is not bias or unfair!

Lectures are straight forward but her attitude is a big problem. She usually will cancel class because she's sick etc but she wont let you know the day before, she usually lets you know before her class even starts. If your late yourself she'll give you a hard time for that?. She's very rude when replying to emails, Would not recommend!

She was a wonderfully, caring instructor. I worked with her outside of class because I am not a history major and needed additional assistance. She was really happy to help out. Do the work, especially the extra credit, read the syllabus and you will be fine.

Professor Davis was great. She's very passionate about history and her tests are pretty easy, so long as you actively take notes and show up for the lectures. She cancelled class twice during the semester, which kind of knocked us off course, but she always bumped the tests a week forward each time. Only had two tests and the not-cumulative final.

Professor Davis is quite literally the best professor for history ever. You have three tests and a paper due. She lectures exactly what will be on the tests but notes are not online so you have to show up. She has a passion for the subject so it is easy to listen to the lectures. Best class!

Took her 7am class, she loves what she teaches, there are 4 tests. (including the final) not accumulative which is super nice. 1 paper. Extra credit opportunities (which i would recommend) Got a B in her class, study your notes and you will do fine. It is lecture heavy but any history class will be that way. I would recommend her just not at 7am.

I'm not a history fan, but I learned a lot from this class. She lectures the whole time but it is usually interesting and she adds some of her own cool stories. She has good study guides for the three exams (not cumulative) and if you take notes and study them you should be fine. There is also a 5-10 page paper and an optional extra credit essay.

This was an enjoyable and easy class. There was one easy paper (didn't require any research) and three tests. If you know everything on the study guides and show up to class, you'll be totally fine. Class was a little slow, but not bad. You can tell that Professor Davis really loves American history, and she's very approachable and nice.

The class is nothing but lecture. Her lecturing style is a little different. She mostly talks aloud with only pictures/maps on the board. So be prepared to listen closely. I didn't use the book either. Three tests with one term paper. The term paper takes time, but it actually ended up being rather interesting. Nice professor and nice class.

If you take this class, make sure you can write notes fast. Her tests weren't easy. Make sure you write everything down she says in class and study a lot! The tests have very tricky wording. Probably one of the more stressful classes I've taken at saddleback. You have 3 tests and one 10 page paper.

Bring a laptop to class to take note, all tests are from lectures. She provides a study guide at the beginning of each section so you can follow along and be sure to know what she wants you to know.. 3 Tests graded on a curve and 1 paper, but it was just analyzing documents, no research needed. Follow the guidelines for paper and you are gold!

B. Davis was ok, but I've had better professors at Saddleback. Her lectures were interesting but sometimes she would play videos that were hard to stay awake to. She would also treat the class like it was high school and get mad if you left to use the bathroom. However as long as you take really good notes you should be able to pass the class.

Professor Davis is a very kind and caring woman. She can be strict with grading, but with the lack of structure in many college classes these days, it really is nice to see how she sets fine standards. In order to get an A, you will need to do your part and study her lecture notes and study guide. Overall, she is a great professor.

you NEED to go to class because the notes are what the 3 tests are based out of. its beneficial to read the chapters because some stuff isnt fully explained so it can be difficult. the essay isnt too hard you dont need to be amazing at it. do the extra credit it seems annoying and dumb but its so worth it

Worst professor! AVOID! I asked for clarification on a few topics and she got MAD and responded saying she can't repeat lecture. Her tests are impossible. Most of the questions are trick questions. It's impossible to take notes as fast as she talks&you must write everything down & memorize it all for the tests. My 4.0 might be ruined by this class

This class is tough. You must listen. You must show up. You must care. Knowing this.. This woman is incredibly competent and knows her material. It killed me getting an A in this class when I took it, but it's a feel-good, "HEY I worked my ass off for this A." ANYWAYS If you like history and you want to be challenged, Mob. Davis is there for you.

While Professor Davis was a kind lady, her class was not my favorite. She missed class ALOT with little warning. For the entire class, Davis lectures with poorly made slides. I recommend bringing a laptop 4 notes because she goes fast. If you truly pay attention in class you'll do fine on the tests. Didn't even study for one and I set the curve.

Yes, you do have to come to class and take notes the entire time, but her lectures are broad so the questions on the test are not in depth, just the general idea. If you take good notes and study them for tests, you will do completely fine. 3 tests total (curved), 1 easy 6 page paper (follow directions), and extra credit (DO IT) brought me up 5%.

Professor Davis has some of the most interesting lectures! She has so much experience as a historian that she has very interesting stories to tell. It is extremely important to take notes during her lectures because the tests are made from the content of her lectures and not very much of the textbook.

Davis is brilliant & should seriously have a podcast! But for a lower division GE class, her tests here extremely difficult and random, making it hard to prepare for. She lectures in a storytelling style that was interesting. Write down EVERY thing she says and study her opinions and the obscure facts. 5 start class if the tests were more clear.

This class consisted of 4 tests, but the professor dropped the lowest grade. There were no homework assignments and she stated that attendance counted as part of your grade, but it never did. This professor took almost a month to grade every test. She does not like to be emailed or bothered and is very rude when you do so. Very easy class tho!

Only had two assignments: Exam #1 and #2. She just read off her slides and made us teach ourselves. Gave us a ton of reading and wasn't available outside of class. Once we switched to online she was even more uninvolved in the class. Didn't make an effort to teach the material and gave no room for error. I don't recommend this teacher.

Professor Davis has the best lectures ever. She teaches history like its a story and talks slow enough for everyone to write down plenty of notes. Her tests consist pretty much of all the notes but make sure you study your notes inside and out cause the test answers are wordy. I would also read the book to fully grasp all the information.
