Extremely easy, but to the point where I felt I didn't learn anything. The class was a disappointment. He is, on the other hand, a very nice man and he cancelled class a lot.

He is a GREAT teacher. Gives a lot of short papers for you to write, but is a very easy grader. I would def. take his global class if you can. (Will be impressed his outfits. He never wore the same outfit twice.)

Best teacher... He's interesting and makes class fly by. He grades fair and he tells you exactly what is going to be on the tests. He has awesome suits and always looks like a million bucks.

Compared to other SOC classes I've heard about, Curry is straight forward, makes you want to learn about our cultures and mores and such. I do think he has a pair of sock for every outfit. Would love to see his closet. Great teacher; terrific sense of humor

Great sense of humor, very clear and one hell of a dresser. Lets you know exactly what's going to be on the test and was always willing to help you out. He always made class fun. TAKE HIS CLASSES!!!!

I agree with the comment below; Curry is very funny and he does dress well. His classes are very informative, yet he makes them easy by letting you know what will be on the tests. I think anyone would benefit from a class with Curry.

His is a great professor! He makes very good points and is open to other people's opinions. I have never seen him wear a suit twice. I like him a lot and I suggest you take him!

Bernard is an amazing professor. He'll make you think about so many issues you've never considered before. Plus he never wears the same suit twice. The class is very easy (the midterm and final are practically jokes), apart from one time consuming group project. All I can say is take his class!!

If you're going to take intro. to soc. take it from Bernard! His class is great!

Professor Curry is a great guy and just wants you to understand the information. Sometimes it gets repetitive but I stongly suggest taking him. He is also the best dressed person on the entire campus.

Curry is a really nice guy and he's hillarious in his own way... i had him at 8 am and the class was relatively boring but compared with other global teachers, hes really easy... his quizzes are easy as long as youve read the material and his final was one of the easiest ive ever taken in my life... take his class

LOVE this teacher! He is interesting and made what could have been a boring class fascinating. The exam is easy. He never fails to exemplify style- make sure to pay attention to his suits (it's like he never wears the same thing twice -shoes included). He's so much fun!

We have Bernard (as he prefers to be called) for Aboriginal studies in Australia. He is always dressed to the 9s, talkin like a preacher and is the most enthusiastic professor I have ever had. He struts around with a smile on his face at all times and I would strongly suggest this course!

He is one of the greatest teachers i've encountered ... he makes you type a 2 page reflection on almost everything! however they are graded easily and they are good to review before taking his easy exams .. i would recommend taking this class over the other global classes out there

LOVE LOVE LOVE Curry. One of my favorite classes, and would take another with him in a heartbeat. quizzes often, and several large tests. only a few two page reflections, and one large group presentation. very manageable. loved this class.

Really liked this guy. A lot of cultural events and short papers though. Grades decently, always well-dressed for class. Know the six global themes! Probably would take him again.

Prof. Curry is THE BEST. He is perfect for a good student, and fairly good for a student who doesn't work hard. He gives pop quizzes.. but basically tells you when they are. All the tests are basically definitions. He is HILARIOUS, my favorite professor at Elon so far. HIGHLY recommend!!!!

Dr. Curry is great! He is such a funny guy. His class is interesting and easy. His lectures are often entertaining, although the class sometimes drags.

Curry was my favorite teacher this semester! Only a few homework assignments and one major group presentation. He has grading rubrics for all assignments which makes it easy and you don't need to buy the textbook, it's all online. Super nice, funny, helpful, and enthusiastic! Definitely recommend taking him if you can

Professor Curry is the best! He is really funny & a super nice guy. He is one of my favorite professors ever. He keeps class interesting with funny lectures and movies. He doesn't give too many tests and is an extremely fair guy. Tests are a little challenging, but nothing crazy. I 100% would recommend taking a class with Curry! You wont regret it!

I absolutely love this class - the material is so interesting! This being said, Curry talks A LOT. He drags lectures and notes out much longer than they need to be and we didn't finish everything. Tests are easy and we watch movies sometimes and you'll leave wanting to make a difference in education for the kids.

I took this intro class as a way to fulfill my expression requirement and Curry was a perfect choice if that's what you're looking for. Grading is completely objective, it's easy, and he made a class outside of my field interesting and enjoyable. For those trying to fulfill your core requirements you can't go wrong with Curry.

Curry is such a sweet, southern man that genuinely cares about his students. The class is an easy A as long as you pay attention in lectures and stay on top of readings. Very little homework but pop quizzes (which he indirectly suggests of the class before) are frequent. He takes pride in his final group project and doesn't give a midterm.

I absolutely loved Dr. Curry. He was funny, he is very intelligent, and most importantly, he makes everyone in his class love Sociology. If you are going to take a Soc course, please please please take Dr. Curry, you will not regret it.

Does not respond to emails. Lectures are extremely boring. Super easy class, though. Read the material and you'll be fine. One group project that isn't too bad. Wording on tests can be tricky sometimes, but not horrible.

Great Professor. If you read quizzes are easy and he is super funny and nice. If you have perfect attendance you get extra credit and your major assignment for the class is a group project.

LOVE Bernard. He is such a sweet, genuine, sassy man. His class is lecture heavy, but it's super engaging- he makes great jokes! 60% of the semester revolves around a group project but it's done before Thanksgiving and after the class is super laid back. His outfits are also amazing- he wore a velvet blazer! Overall such a great professor.

Gives a ton of quizzes, but always tells you in advance. Read the stuff online and pay attention in class and you'll be fine. There's a huge semester long group project that's worth a lot, but he walks you through every step. Absolutely hilarious and playing review games with him is literally like being on family feud with Steve Harvey.

He is my favorite professor. Such an easy class. We have quizzes basically every class but they are easy 10 question true or false. There is one group project that you do over the course of the semester and then there are 3 tests. He is such a nice guy and really funny.

If you need an ELR requirement take this class. Prof. Curry is literally one of the funniest / best profs ever and there was very little work for this class and its pretty interesting material. We had one big presentation at the end of the semester, which takes a good amount of time but hes very specific on how you can get an A.

I took Intro to Soc and it was so easy. I maintained a 99 the entire semester. He made all the quizzes and tests online on Moodle, and open note so it was so easy! However, attendance was mandatory. Overall, I would def recommend him for anyone looking for an easy A!

He's very vague about grading and strict on no phones in class. But there is only one test and it was online on our own time in my dorm. You have a big group project due at the end of the semester that he talks about heavily. You also have to show up or you won't know what is going on. This was my favorite class and I learned the most.

Prof. Curry is the best! He's super funny which makes the lectures interesting. The class had one paper over the course of the semester, but he walked us through it so we were basically done when it was due. Curry is honestly a great professor and cares about his students. His attendance policy is very strict and he does not apply it to your grade till after the final. He is very understanding and wants his students to be creative.

He is a great professor and person, he cares about his students! Theres lots of quizzes but they are all very easy. Class can get boring if there is no class participation. He is VERY strict on attendance, phones, and leaving the class often. But, if you show to every class you can get extra points at the end!!

Prof Curry is probably one of my favorite people at Elon. He does a lot of lecturing but his personality makes it very interesting and the class overall is always intriguing. He always lets us share our opinions and respectfully debate with each other. You are supposed to read the textbook but I never did and was completely fine.

I LOVE Dr. Curry. He does lecture a lot, but there are also a lot of class discussions, so class is rarely dull. The sweetest southern man ever and he is so funny. You have to go to class otherwise you will fail. There wasn't an overwhelming amount of work. He tries to make it manageable. There is a big group project but he is specific about it.

Dr. Curry is one of the most talented, committed, kind and intelligent people and professors I have ever met. He always allows us to connect their personal experiences to his class. His classroom environment is a welcoming and safe environment and you are able to have meaningful conversations and laugh.

Dr. Curry was my favorite professor of the semester. while his no electronics and no leaving class policy got annoying at times, he always kept me entertained with his lectures and taught in a way I was able to understand. he is a tough but fair grader, and is always ready to help when you need it.

Dr. Bernard Curry is the best professor I have ever had. I would take a course on his grocery list. Any class he teaches is bound to be amazing. He is so funny and engages the class in every discussion. He encourages creativity and gives all his students the opportunity to flourish.

I absolutely adore this man, he is strict about attendance but if you have perfect attendance he will give you extra credit on your final grade which gives a huge boost. He's nitpicky about grammar and class policies but that's pretty much it. I've had him twice now and would definitely say if you have any opportunity to take him, do it!

I took him for sociology through film and he was such a sweetheart. It was my second time having him and he provided all textbooks and information we would need but made sure the class had plenty of time to discuss rather than just sit through lectures. He truly cares about his students and all of his quizzes are super easy if you listen!

Bernard Curry has been one of my favorite professors at Elon. He is such a fun teacher. It is a no technology classroom but he makes up for it. He is strict about attending class but he cares for his students and I just really recommend him.

Dr. Curry is very old fashioned, no technology, no leaving class, and no missing class without docking points off your grade. However, he is a kind soul and deeply cares about what he's teaching. I enjoyed his class but be prepared to work with others and abide by his rules for a good grade.

I LOVED this class! He prefers not to use technology; notes had to be handwritten, tests were on paper, and all assignments had to be printed before they were turned in. The tests were objective and either multiple choice or true/false. The class was interesting, and I was excited to attend class. You can tell he's passionate about sociology.

Professor Curry was, overall, a great professor. He was clearly very passionate about the subject and was very engaging in class. If you're thinking about taking any of his courses, be sure to read the syllabus closely. Attendance IS mandatory and he will take off points for missing class. Expect to have to print all of your assignments.

A great professor and definitely is passionate about what he teaches. Each class was discussion based and there were very few assignments. HOWEVER- make sure to read the syllabus. This class required 40 hours of community service and it was very taxing. Attendance is mandatory and the classroom is no technology (he will take off points)!

Prof. Curry is an awesome and caring guy. The class consists of A LOT of quizzes but they're generally pretty simple. The big project in his class is a lot of work but he gives more than enough time to finish it and checks parts of it along the way. I absolutely loved his class. Im a dual enrolled high school student and thought it was very simple and I enjoyed his class, There is a large group project but he gives months to finish it.

When I first switched into this class I was definitely nervous because how strictly implied the rules of no tech and you MUST attend class but after taking the course Prof Curry is definitely the best Prof I had and one of the nicest guys. Regular quizzes but super easy being 10-15 questions. Group project 30% of grade so choose wisely for people.
