He only teaches early classes, but believe me, he will keep you up. He, him self is a psychologyst so he has so many GREAT anecdotes. His tests CAN be hard IF you dont study. He is great and helpful, i had him 2 years ago and we still say hello when we see eachother in the halls.

Great teacher! I was never bored in this class, because he always told the funniest stories. His tests are hard if you dont study but all the material comes from his notes.I definitely reccomend taking this class with him because he makes it very interesting.

He is the greatest professor ever. I had him for an early class but I looked foward to going to it everytime I had it. His test are hard if you don't study but he grades on a curve which is great! I definitly suggest taking his class because it's great!!!

Very good professor, constantly giving examples, the notes are organized on the board in the beginning of class. The tests are easy if you study for them, he also gives out sheets saying what you need to know for the test.

prof katz reminded me of Dustin Hoffman and honestly he made abnormal psych so easy and so much fun, it was such a joy to have him in class. He was one of the best prof's i have ever had.

One of the best teachers I've ever had. His lectures are entertaining and he is very passionate about his work. A real pleasure being in his class. Down side though, his tests are ridiculously hard. Be prepared for a lot of studying and know how to read into his questions.

Best prof I've ever had. Ask question druring exams. He'll always help you to get right direstion. His talent makes the class even more interesting. Nobody falls sleep in his class. He gives students a guide sheet for every exam, and if you study according to that, there will be no problem. He isn't just a wonderful prof, but also a good counsell

Best professor ever! Always made time for students though he's also in private practice. Always had interesting stories to tell about patients. Not once was I ever bored. Because of him, I'm going into clinical psychology. Writes all the notes on the board; no hw, no textbook, just listen and you'll do well.

Dr. Katz is a great teacher and an even better psychologist. Is classes were early in the morning, but I didnt mind getting up early for them. Is test are fair and he will help you if you ask a reasonable question,g gives wonderful examples of abnormal people. always willing to answer a question. if you want to take a psychology class take his.

Amazing lessons and stories. Your grade is made up of only three tests and nothing else, so you have to study hard because there's not going to be anything to help your grade. Tests are hard.

Absolutely wonderful man, and class. Because he uses real-life examples from his private practice, the classes really engage you. Easy grader, fair exams, and NO use of the text.

Dr. Katz is a brilliant man! Truely one of the best. Tells you exactly what Is going to be on the test, no surprises. Stories are based on his own experience as a therapist. No homework is given. The only homework you have for the whole semester is to study for the 3 exams. He knows all of his material and is fantastic.

Abnormal Psych wit Prof katz is one of t best classes u can take at ncc. he is a brilliant man. you can learn a lot frm him & fall in love wit psych coz he makes it so interesting. his exams r directly frm his notes so if u attend class its an A...amzin maann...really njoyed his class

Phenomenal teacher. I so looked forward to his class every time. You have to keep good notes because the 3 tests are tough. He does offer to help any student. Professional, intelligent, made the class laugh with his personal experience lectures. There was not an empty seat in the classroom. I've never seen that!

Dr.Katz is my absolute favorite professor at NCC. He is extremely nice and funny and an overall great guy. His tests can be hard but if you study the notes you will do well. You don't need to buy the text and he doesn't give any kind of homework or papers. Take his class! You won't regret it. I was actually sad to have it end.

Professor Katz is phenomenal. Whether you just need a psych class or it's your major Professor Katz's Abnormal Psych is a must take. A lot of people find his tests hard, but as long as you pay attention and take his notes you'll be fine. No text book needed. Really guys he's awesome, if you have an opportunity to take him, do it.

Had him for Abnormal Psych. Really a great guy and he's pretty funny. His stories are excellent and his experience in the field shows. However, his tests are wrather difficult. Be prepared to study quite a bit for each one. Other than tests he assigns no other work.

AMAZING!! took his general psych class and then his abnormal. i wasnt particularly interest in psych but he is the most amazing teacher i had to take his class again. he 'chalks and talks' hell write down everything you need to know then go on about examples and stores from real life. tests can be hard, you have to apply what he tells you. AMAZING!

Best professor, makes the class superr interesting with his real life stories. He's an old man but he is funny, i love how he gives examples for every topic which def helps to remember things. He writes a lot in the blackboard but then goes over every single thing he wrote. I loved going to his class to hear more of his stories that had the class cracking up! Professor Katz is AMAZING! He is hilarious and always grabs my attention almost immediately with his lectures. I gaurantee that he will never bore you. Wow I don't even know where to begin. This professor is absolutely amazing. so intelligent and SO FUNNY. I fell inlove with him literally. He cares about his students and he tells stories to help you understand the material and it helps so much! I now want to major in psych because he made me love the subject. I had prof Katz at 8 am for abnormal and I loved his class! He tells the best stories that relate to what we're studying. The first exam is a little hard but it gives you an idea of what his exams are like and if you study its easy. He assigns textbook readings instead of papers. He has a lot of experience in his field, extremely knowledgable.

Test are NOT cumulative. Must take notes! Test can be difficult if you read into a question too much like I did. Test are MC and T/F.

Katz is a GREAT Professor! He is super funny and you'll never be bored because he tells the most amusing stories about his patients. I highly recommend this class to people who are interested in Psychology and different types of disorders. He gives you an outline for each test and tells you what you need to know in order to prepare for it.

Dr. Katz is a great prof who makes the class fun and enjoyable to attend. Most of the examples he uses in class are about his experiences with patients he has had in his profession. He makes you want to come into class no matter how early it is. Pay attention in class and attend, and study for the 3 tests easy A. Text is only used for reinforcement

Dr. Katz is one of the nicest professors and psychologists I've ever had. He truly helps students from the deep of his heart. His words and lectures were as clear as crystal, and his interesting stories actually support the ideas in his lectures. There are only 3 easy easy easy multiple choice tests; no papers and researches. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. <3

Katz teaches early morning, but his classes are worth waking up at the crack of dawn. He has is own private practice & shares in class real life experience. Ask questions & you'll receive an answer. He is respectful & hilarious. Be interactive in class because it makes the time easier. Show up to class to get the notes & read the material for exams

I loved professors Bernards pysch class . I never missed one and i took a friday 3 hour class ! Hes inspirational intelligent and outspoken . His prepares you for his text however you must do your part of reading from the text book as well when it comes to studying however you dont need to bring it to class.

My second semester with Katz,Great guy! Had him for 101 & now abnormal. He'll write notes on the board, and then go into detail & tell stories from his actual experiences as a psychologist. Hes hilarious! Only 3 tests, which are hard if you don't study, material is easy. No homework. His handwriting is a bit bad, but hes an amazing professor!

Professor Katz is an incredible professor. His class was probably one of the best I've ever taken. His knowledge is astounding - as is the things he has achieved in his life. All you really have to do is show up to class and listen for an hour and fifteen minutes. Tests then will not be difficult and honestly, the lectures are enjoyable.

Honestly dr. Katz is one of the best professors at nassau! I wish he taught more psych classes. If you have a question, he will always answer it. Even when your taking the test! This is honestly the most genuine professors I've taken at NCC. I plan on taking him again for abnormal, he was the reason that pushed me to major in psych! You have to study the notes (focus on that) for the tests! There are 20% ques. from the textbooks, but don't stress on that. He truly cares for the students, has great experience with the field

Professor Katz is by far the best professor I have had so far. His lectures are so interesting and funny. He brings his personal experiences into every class. He is always willing to help. Must take notes in class as the tests are all based off of your notes. Would take him again if he was teaching something other than Abnormal Psy.

Took his abnormal psychology class in 2013. He was one of the best teachers I've had at NCC. Interesting class where he just told stories and very clear notes that were written down on the board at the beginning of class so you can take notes quick and then just listen. Easy tests and no textbook requirement just review your notes. Highly recommend

I took Prof. Katz 2 years ago and I'm coming back to write about him now. You can't ask for more in a Professor. This man Is a genius. Teaches by relating a story to every point he makes. What a wonderful professor. Hes so incredibly nice and his class is so interesting. I genuinely felt bad not coming sometimes because they were long lol but the subject is fairly easy, common sense, interesting and he is absolutely wonderful!

Dr. Katz is an amazing professor. I took his class on Fridays for three hours and the time flew by because his lectures are so informative and entertaining. He brings 50 years of experience to his teaching and it was an absolute privilege to take his course. Unfortunately, he is retiring after this semester and Nassau is losing a wonderful Prof.
