He is an amazing teacher. I've heard mix talk about him but I had no problems in his class and I'm afraid of Math. He drops lowest grades, give easy online quizzes that you can learn from and sets time aside (outside of class time) to help U if U need additional help. Even after going through a tragic event he still held his wit & was still great.

My favorite teacher at MDC. HE is super duper helpful and gives you tons of extra credit and help. He is willing to explain 100 million times if needed and makes sure you understand. He is always willing to stay late and help one on one. Super smart and always happy. Great teacher. He will help you passs his class. AWESOME!!!

I've moved on from MDC, but he, is by far my most memorable professor. He will take as much time as he has to, to help you and if you fail a test or quiz, it seems as though, he takes it personally. i took him for mat0024, mat1033, and mac1105.

I totally recoment him. I was never into math until I met him. It's not an easy class, but if you pay attention you have to pass. I love this professor.

I took the Summer A course. It was fast pace but I never fell behind. He lets you drops one test and one quiz grade. The quizzes are online so that's a huge advantage. He is very helpful and caring. I assume this class in the Fall or Spring is easier. His test are easy; they cover the basics. If you do the HW online he counts it as EC.

This professor is very helpful and caring. He is one who really loves what he do and is very dedicated. If he sees you are trying your best but still struggling, he will encourage you and help you find the mistakes you are making. His tests are not hard at all if you study for them and do the homework online. He is awesome and a great professor.

He has a pretty monotone voice, but he's easy to get along with and a great teacher. He has an incredible amount of patience for dumb questions and he is willing to help if you are willing to learn. He removes the lowest test grade at the end of the semester and there is one big group project.

One of the best professors I have had at Dade. If you are stuck on something he will sit with you until you understand it. He also held some exam study sessions (took away from his own time) to help out with the upcoming tests. If you ever need help just ask him. He's a great person as well.

He is excellent! Wants you to learn & gives you every single little opportunity he can for you to do well in class. I withdrew from the class but that was my own undoing. No MAT1033 & above math class should ever be taken in a short term. I will absolutely be looking for him for a full term. He even takes his own personal time to sit & help you!

Professor Mathon is an awesome teacher. If you don't understand a certain material he will help you understand during class lectures. He is always suggesting if you need additional help with the material you can get help at the Math Lab or come visit him during his office hours. I recommend him to everyone.

He's the best Math professor I've ever had. He teaches extremely well and step by step. For exams he gives you reviews and does review sections for you to ask any questions. He would postpone the tests if he thinks students need more time to study. He's a very happy person, always smiling, and very patient-you will never see him angry. Pick him!!!

Really awesome professor! He stayed after class to tutor students how to use the graphing calculator. He uses camtasia videos in course compass so you can go back and review what you've learned. You don't have to buy the txt book because all the homework is used in course compass. BTW if you have an iPhone, ipad, or itouch you can buy the graphing calculator app for $1.99 and it does a hell of a better job than the one they sell at the bookstore. Trust me don't waste your money.

I hate anything closely related to math but Professor Mathon made it easy to understand. The end of the semester project really saves your grade! I recommend him.

Easiest math course in the world. You work with variables just a little. Just know percentages, fractions, and basic arithmetic and you will breeze through this. You also learn how to do math from the ancient days of egypt, greek culutre, babylonians, and roman empire. You have to write a paper on math and present it to the class,easy though.

I dont know if he changed this semester or I dislike math way too much, but I dont think this is an easy course at all. He gives you too much homework, we have tests and quizzes almost every week. He doesnt spend time explaining sections because he expects you to go to tutoring before class,and in my case that is not possible. Dont take his class!

He is amazing, I had failed mac1105 four times before him. After taking this remedial math my world changed. Attendance is mandatory bc you want the information he gives and you need it to pass, don't remember if he takes attendance. There is a lot of HW but you need to practice this stuff to pass, trust me I know! After this I got an A on MAC1105

He is probably one of the best professor I ever had. I actually started enjoying math after I took algebra with him, so much, that I ended up pursuing a career in engineering. His class is a lot of work but its worth it when you see the progress you've made.

I was in his honors class last year. He's incredibly nice and always available for help. He does give a lot of online homework and it is difficult to catch up sometimes, but it's manageable. Tests are not difficult if you do and study the reviews. Only thing I hated about the class was the service learning and project you have to do. Do it early!

Mr. Mathon is an excellent math instructor. He assigns a lot of homework but it's the only way that you can really learn the concepts. My math foundation is weak but I completed the assignments and got an A!

I was reluctant to take an online Math course, but I highly recommend taking this Professor for this Math course. The amount of homework isn't too bad, and he's always available to help. He replies to emails quickly too. I made a B in the class, and Math is not my strength.

Do the reviews for the exams because they are IDENTICAL, theres a total of 4 in a 6 week course but he drops the lowest test and quiz grade. Over all very easy, i passed with a B

He is a great math teacher! He really wants his students to learn and to pass the class. There are 5 quizzes, 4 exams plus the final. He drops lowest quiz and test grade. There is hw every week but it's really not that. Study before the tests and you'll be okay. Math is my worst subject and I still managed to pass!

This class was very easy. All homework is online and quizzes as well. 4 exams overall, plus a final. His reviews are helpful and the homework is super easy. Sit in the front because he has a low voice, but other than that he's great. Recommend him!

Very easy professor to pass if you put effort into the class. Mathon is always trying to be as clear as possible when it comes to teaching. Reviews for exams are very helpful, identical to test. Always tries to get involved with the class and tries to make jokes that fail to the point that its funny. I recommend getting the graphing calculator.
