So funny and really cares about Anthropology. Inspired me to continue on with it as my major and I loved every minute of his class. We had open-note quizzes and tests, so I recommend taking good notes. Overall, very excited to take another class of his.

Very disorganized lecturer--I'm sure his style works for some but not for me. On top of that, the course was poorly structured, he's a rude professor, and the homework was poorly distributed so we had an intense amount in Oct and then what felt like 3 finals during the last 2 weeks of the semester. One of the only classes I fully regret taking.

I also took one of his 100s and it was better, but 370 was genuinely the worst class I've ever taken. Assignments never fully explained, said he would do things and add things to Canvas and never did, gave us false information (on multiple occasions), and generally just taught nothing. Incredibly disorganized class, his lack of care was obvious.

Dr. Means is a great guy but his classes are hard. He doesn't really elaborate on assignments, so you'll have to dig through the syllabus. Definitely take his courses if you're interested in pursuing an archaeology career, he's the best we have.

This class is easy. However, when I asked questions via email, always in a professional way, I was met with passive aggressive responses. This is a professor that has no clue how to be helpful, respectful, or professional to his students. We are all adults here. I stopped showing up to class after my first email and still got a B. It's a joke.

His lecture is kinda boring, but he cares a lot about what he does, and sometimes he tells funny/interesting stories. If you are interested in fossils and rocks, you'd probably like this more than I did. His tests are weirdly difficult though.

He quizzes and test based off lecture details rather than actual concepts of archaeology overwhelmingly. I asked for feedback on the anthropological relevance of my final project and he referred to the rubric. I think this guy has lost his love for the humanity his profession requires and it made my experience lesser.

This class is very leture heavy which can be boring but all of the tests are open note so as long as you take notes youll get an A. Theres plenty of assignments that are completion grades and extra credit lectures to attend so youll have no problem getting an A. Dr. Means has actual field experience and is a funny guy so I highly recommend him.

If you aren't one of his favorites who lives in the virtual curation laboratory.. might as well not even try to like the prof. It is still necessary to complete the course, but be aware that he is very passive-aggressive, or at least comes off that way. When you ask a question via email he will provide little help and just refer you to the syllabus

If you need an easy class to take, this is the one. I'm not an anthropology major but I learned a decent amount of things from his class. You don't have to be interested in anthropology to pass this class. Just take notes as he only lectures with slides but he doesn't give a textbook. As long as you take notes you should pass the tests and class.
