Speer made the class interesting and yes there was alot of homework and labs to complete but she made it interesting and most assignments involved using website links to answer questions. Yes at first she comes across abrasive but she was cool in my book. I enjoyed her class and actually learned alot. I would recommend her to bio majors to take.

You study 2 videos for 2 weeks. The videos are an hr long each and they are accompanied by 60-80 questions ea. video. The exam then has ONLY36 questions. This means you can only miss so many before you fail. You don't have a much of a chance because you dont really even know what to study! Then you also have 2 essay questions. GOOD LUCK

Speer teaches at a mastery level. I think she forgets that she teaches at a community college to nursing and health science career students, not biologists. Bernice is one of the better teachers I've had at ACC. The workload is heavier than average, but completely manageable. She can be a little nitpicky when it comes to grading free-response questions but if you know the content this won't hurt your grade. If you don't have good study habits then this class is a great opportunity to learn them.

Ridiculous amount of material to memorize. No clear idea specified for exams. I suspect they put amount of material to get student to drop class for less student to grade exams for. Almost impossible to get a A. Get ready to study as if you are taking 3 or 4 classes.
