Ms Kalisa is very nice although sometimes she is not very clear on what she's looking for which could lead to surprises on a test. She likes students that attend class everyday. Not difficult to make an "A" here.

Not always the clearest but still a good teacher
She is very nice, She will give you a lot of extra credit.
Ms. Kalisa is a great teacher. I had a wonderful time in her class. The work is fairly easy but there comes a time when it gets boring. To suceed in her class you should attend class daily, talk to her, and let her know you are interested in history.
She is a good teacher. She is funny and makes the class intersting. Her tests are easy,if u attaind her class daily, take a good notes and highlight every single thing she reads from the book.her test Questions seem like it has 2 answers so be aware!!!
This professor teaches class like she's teaching high schoolers, she explains what you'll find in every paragraph of every chapter. Easy A, she's somewhat **** and boring. If you are not interested in a challenge, she is the professor for you.
Very nice teacher. she is helpful, but her tests can be confusing. U have to be good at guessing b/c it seems like one qs has 2 answers. but the good thing about it is, it's 50/50.by the way "see u in summer school"..u'll be hearing this more of
History by itself is an interesting subject. She adds to it by being intellectualy interesting. She is cool, and funny. I don't think anyone can fall asleep in her class. Lots of jokes. Even during test she asks if everyone is making "A". I reco
I hated history before this. But in her class she conveys history to you as if you're the first to know it ever. The test are multiple choice & kind of confusing still I suggest if you take her class bring a recorder gives lots of info. Hey I made an A.
She is very easy and helpful. If you want to breeze through history take her. She also gives a lot of extra credit.
WEll.......She's weird. She dresses cute all the time but her teaching sucks. Actually, she's always talking about life and how you should just know things and holding doors for women and just nonsense pertaining to history. OTher than that, take the class for a easy grade because she can be fun.
This class was so much fun. Miss Kalisa is the best professor you could ask for at any level. You will not be unhappy at all with her teaching style or grading. To the idoit that didn't know why she was reading to you it's call notetaking.
She sucks as a professor. She teaches like she's in middle school. What she do is pick her favorite students, and give them any grade that they want. You can flunk every test, but as long as you talk a lot, you'll pass with a B. Whereas, others are working hard for their grades.
Very fun and loveing teacher. She care about the students attendance, and makes sure that you pass her class
I like history but Kalisa's style has totally turned me off from it. She is more interested in people attending class than teaching. When she is "teaching" (usually means sitting in her chair and making us read out of the book) it is the most mind numbing exercise invented. Beware!
Ms. Kalisa is a great teacher. Her class is enjoyable and she prefers to know alittle about the students in her class. Yes, she does read from the book, but what that does is give you everything that is on the test. There is no way to come out of her class with anything less than an A.
She is a great teacher. I enjoyed her class and her teaching style. Easy
She is a terrible teacher. Her tests have nothing to do with the lectures. If you want extra credit, raise your hand fast because she only gives it to one person. You will need extra credit to pass her class. Read the book and hope.
Ok teacher! In order to be successful in this course, you'll have to study outside the class. All test are multiple choice(3 test total-including midterm and final, but some questions seemed to have two answeres. Hint: The right answer will be verbatim to how it appeared in the book(I do mean word from word. Easy to make an A or B.
Ms. Kalisa was a fun teacher. She made history interesting. She did not give a lot of reading assingments outside of class. It is very easy to make an A in her class, all she wants is for you to participate in her class discusions.
Don't like the class. She keeps talking and talking and makes me feel asleep in the class. If you want to study by your own, you can take her. I heard you can make easy A in her class but to me, i don't think so.
BORING.. she is easy if you like to study from the book on your own because she tests directly from it although some material is from her lectures. If you can manage to stay awake during her class and study then you can make an easy A though.
she sucks. if you play in class, and laugh at her lame jokes, then you'll get an A or a B even if you fail all her tests
Read your chapters!!! If you don't read you will make bad grades on the 3 tests. No homework. 1 paper. She gives a study guide. You should do well, but only if you read the material on your own. The tests questions can be a little tricky, so read!!!!
She is very unorganized and should not be teaching
The easiest A ever. Even if you do not go to class and do not study, the minimum is B you will get. Very-very easy.
Hated her class. I dont think she should be teaching at all.. She singled out a student in my class embarrassing her for like 10 minutes. Didnt really learn much either. all for a B.
BORING!!!! This class was soo boring! I can understand why some people said that it was easy... but u have to drink an energy drink or something, or you'll be sleep half the time... I took her during my sports season too, not good! dont do much in there, read from book and take tests, that's it. Oh but the project for her was fun and good
Easy peasy. But be warned, she does read from the book. Can be mind numbing. Knows her stuff tho.
Very, very very, easy class. If you want an easy A take this class. But she is very Boring, just follow the study guides and you should do fine. I fell asleep everyday in class and still mad an A!!! Easy Research paper @ end of semester. But she does have an attendance policy.
SHe is a very caring and intelligent professor. I would take her again
She's nice, but her class is so boring.....she'll put you into sleep everyday.
Nice Lady. Extreme mood swings.. maybe b/c it is the summer time. Reads from the book and doesn't teach... just reads and asks questions. I would NOT focus on her study guides to prepare for tests. Just read book and pay attention.. I got a B
this teacher is very unprofessional in her approach to teaching students. The fact that she achieved a normal score on this site amazes me. It must be the fact that she only has 4 ratings. Honestly, I did all I could possibly do to make an A. I put the effort in. My GPA was 4.0 before. So that proves I do study and try hard. Somehow I got a C.
Reads straight from the book ... hardly any outside information/ stories that would have made the class so much more interesting. In opposition to the previous entries, I did get an A in her class. Simply read sections in the book that had been mentioned in her study guide.
I would not take her class again... I put alot of effort into her class, but in the end it wasn't reflected in my grade, which surprised me because her class isn't all that difficult. In my opinion she can be somewhat unprofessional.
PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS AND ASK FOR HELP IF YOU NEED IT AND YOU WILL GET AN A.
She is a perfect teacher if you want to learn about the Amer. History take her.. She make sure that you understand the topic of the day before you leave her class. Her study guide is her test review. If you have doubts and questions regarding the subject she is always there to help you.. I just love her.
She is so cool. Funny too. She'll say that she is going to send you to summer school, but she is just kidding. You'll love her. Her class is interesting.
I loved her ability to make the book less complicated. I could read it before the class and understand nothing - after class I would be able to tell anyone any details about the class and the content.
She is a wonderful teacher. She helped me out alot. If you ask for help you will get more than enough help ffrom her. She makes class fun and interesting. I would take her again if I had to!!!
Ms. Kalisa was a nice lady, but her class was boring to me. She sits there and reads directly from the book and she makes a lot of smart comments that are unecessary to some students. Can be funny at times, but needs to actually teach instead of reading out of the book, I'm sure the students are capable of that themselves.
Ms. Kalisa is a very nice lady, but she really needs to reevaluate her methods of teaching. Her class was really boring to me also. she reads straight out the book and doesnt really seem to care about your interest in the subject. Take her class and you'll be on your own
MS. KALISA IS AN EXCELLENT TEACHER
She is very helpful and easy to talk to. She helps her students out but the only thing that she does wrong is she reads out the book.
Prof. Kalisa is indeed a nice and friendly teacher. She teaches straight from the book, and therefore, the test questions come directly from the book. In other words, read the assigned chapters if you want to do well on her tests. Don't depend on her study guides, read the chapters (the questions are verbatim to the book). Participate in class too!
she is a very nice lady but her teaching isnt all that good although she does give you a study guide. There werent many assignments in summer school so maybe its better in the fall or spring
This woman is just weird..Her class is very boring, she gets upset when people dont answer her dumb questions and makes sarcastic comments towards the class, also she can be very rude like answer her emails and phone during class. Her tests are very tricky and she grades papers hard so be warned.I would not recommend her.
Dr K is the best professor I've had since I have been in school. If you participate in class and make an effort u will pass. We had 2 test, one final, and two song analysis the whole semester and I earned an A......and I had three other classes I was taking.....its all about talking to your professor and putting forth an effort.....Thanks Dr. K
She's very nice, and quite funny. She has her own way of making the class a little entertaining. Others in my class didn't like her, only bacause they take life WAAY to seriously.
You will not learn anything in this class...Make sure you bring something to do while sitting in her class. All we do is just talk about pointless crap and she doesnt even make sense. She's lazy and unorganized but then gets mad at you if you don't answer her questions. She just doesn't seem to care
Is a good teacher. She's quite easy. Just pay attention, participate so you don't put her to sleep and review your notes
I had a hard time starting out with this teacher. But I had to change my take on her very nice and helpful I thought I made an F in her class but I made a B
I took History 2011 over the summer, only because it was a requirement. I can't say I gained a love of history, but Ms. Kalisa was the nicest teacher I've had. Go to class on time, stay the whole time, take notes and read the book and you'll do fine. She can be a little unorganized, but pay attention and you should get the A I got.
It is a class that someone who is doing history for the first time should attend. She makes you fell very comfortable overall, and there is nothing to passing her exams other than doing your part, as she is always prepared for her students. Very, very down to earth. you just dont want to stay away as the interest is always there.
nice lady but didn't feel like i learnt alot from her though. She didn't give any notes and seem to just talk about stuff. Was a easy enough class though, only 3 exams including midterm and final. There wasn't any paper except a easy but pointless poetry analysis. There are alot worse out there. Would take her if i had no other options.
Ms. Kalisa is very nice, but a little scattered. She gives a lot of notes. Her study guide is useless. Tests require you to remember a lot of information about 3 chapters at a time. She chats a lot, gets off subjects and likes to pick on people. You really need to participate in class to make her happy. Make sure you talk and volunteer
SHE IS A VERY NICE PROFESSOR. SHE TEACHES VERY WELL AND HER STUDY GUIDE MAKES YOUR LIFE SUPER EASY. YOU WILL NEED THE BOOK FOR HER CLASS. IT IS AN EASY A! AS SHE IS COOL AND FLEXIBLE, HOWEVER YOU MUST READ THE BOOK (FOLLOW THE STUDY GUIDE)
Very scattered She only gives three tests over the semester These tests are the only grades you will have. Her tests are very vague just as she is
Boring! lol Ms. Kalisa speaks very softly so its kind of hard to understand her sometimes. she gives three test I promise i failed all three but i did THE PAPER! and got a C wtf ha ha oh how i miss sleeping through her classes. Shes dosent like to fail her students
Please, if you really want to learn History. Do not take this teacher.
Great teacher. If you participate and act like you are at least half way intrested yo will pass. study for the test the day of, right before and you will pass!
Bad class. She reads through the textbook in class. Her test questions have two answers that could be right, but you have to choose the "best one". There were two tests, a noncumulative final, and a paper. The paper was very easy, but the tests weren't. Study the night before tests and hopefully you'll get a B.
Do not take her in summer. She gives only one test and the finals during summer semester. However, she is a good teacher. She likes teaching history.
Take her at your own risk. She is very unorganized. She also has a very bad attitude.
Ms. Kalisa is the sweetest thing. She's willing to work with you if you struggle in her class. Be sure to read the chapters and the study guide definitely helps when it comes to studying for the test. BE SURE TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS DISCUSSIONS. Be sure to notify her of when class ends. Because she forgets and will continue to teach afterwards.
Very sweet lady, but unorganized and inconsistent. She lectures the whole class, but the tests are strait from the book. All I did was read the chapters and I did fine. There's an easy poetry analysis paper at the end but that wasn't too bad. She's very laid back, only 3 tests the whole semester.
She doesn't know what she's teaching. I guess she should first enroll in a teaching course, learn how to teach and then teach us. Her lectures are hay wire. She doesn't explain things clearly. She is always late to class and then leaves us late. Not a professor u wanna take, its pure waste of time.
PLEASE I ask anyone who is smart DON'T Take from Ms. Kalisa. I Dropped her class because she had the nerve to tell us she HATES teaching and how dumb we all are. Over 15 students dropped her class because the first test only three people made high A+ while everyone else she failed her class started out with 35 and ended up after two months with 15.
she is the sweetest cutest and most honest teacher. she does lecture but that what most college professors do. her class is what u make it just like life! you do have to read the book to past exams and she gives a boost with a study exam
:o cant believe these ratings, i was sure everyone would say how much they loved her, i took her bc ppl kept telling me to the prior semester, wooooow! this is one of the sweetest individuals i ever encountered and she jokes w her students constantly n is highly understanding! the only bad thing i could possibly say is that her tests are kind of ..
rediculous, 25 question exams on 3 different chapters. that set so many ppl back bc it is too much info to retain n the things that seem to stick out the most r not at all likely to be on the tests. u need to READ and INTERPRET the chapters to get through them n it helps to pay attention but she puts random extra credit ponits on tests n works w u
Seriously people complaining about having to take a test on 3 chapters? Are you kidding? Its called higher learning for a reason!! Ms. Kalisa is great! She makes the class interesting and gives extra credit. This class was an easy A! If you read the book and come to class don't see how you could not do well in her class. Take her!!
uh i gave her a good rating, wasnt complaining wtf are u talking about dumbass.. and 3 chapters are too much for a test that is 25 questions plus the tests have questions w 2 right answers or no right answer at all, so i could see how mad ppl dropped her class bc they were unable to pass them. still the class isnt hard, u just have to study hard.
honestly, she very kind & sweet. she is willing to work with you and give u extra points to pass. Attend class, participate in her discussions and you'll be alright. class can be a bit boring so take ur brain fuel. overall she's a kindhearted person, i can't say anything bad about her. she makes it a point to know her students name, it means alot.
This professor is fun, and jokes alot. You will have fun in this class. Her tests have 25 questions, and only 3 tests. Take her..she's pretty cool.
this professor is very excellent! she's a must have professor for history!!
I hated history. My goal was to attend & pass this class with a "C". Got an A. Ms Kalisa is awesome. She makes the class fun/interesting. If you attend class and pay attention the tests (3) are easy. One essay due at end semester, but give the instructions on the 1st day. She'll review the essay prior to your final submission. Great Instructor
Compassionate! If I had to sum up her teaching style. She's great. I would take her again, no problem. thoroughly enjoyed this class.
omg this teacher SUCKS do not take her.She teaches out of a slideshow yet none of the question on the test is from the slide show the entire semester we got a wopping 4 grades 3 tst and a project THATS IT.. she is the cornyest person with the LAMEST jokes ever!! every day she was at least 15 mins late.DONT take her SERIOUSLY
This class is really good. However, it requires you to read a lot and the teacher explains one chapter over and over again even though we still have 2 other chapters to go with 2 days left. If you think desperate house wives of Atlanta and Wizard of Oz are part of U.S. History then please enjoy the class
IF YOU: SLEEP IN CLASS, DONT PARTICIPATE IN CLASS DISCUSSIONS,DONT LIKE TO READ,AND LIKE TO LEAVE EARLY..PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT TAKE HER CLASS! BUT SHE IS GREAT!
Let me just say she's nice but if you took her you're better off taking the class online. She often goes off subject, she can't keep a straight thought. Tests are 25 questions over 3 chapters and you're not sure what will be on the test. The paper was easy. Just make sure you read. Her slideshows are useless, she doesn't know how to work them.
I got an A in this class but it wasn't easy. This is coming from a student that is usually tolerant of bad teachers, but PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER...history should not have been this hard. She's always late...disorganized and somewhat confusing. Very sweet lady, but just do yourself and choose a different professor.
Great class, great lectures. If you follow the notes she gives, read the pages she tells you to read and listen and participate in class you can't fail. Show no interest, be disrespectful in any way and you will pay. You have to totally not care to fail this class.
This teacher I must say was confusing. The studyguide had question that wasn't on the test. She loves her job but she's always off topic. Overall i would rate her average cause she will help you pass if you show effort.
First off, this teacher is very sweet and you will pass the class if you show effort. she cares to help you and thats what i love about her! I got a B in her class! BUT i only recommend to take her if you dont mind reading out the book to study. she does not provide any notes for you to study and her lectures tend to be boring. good luck!
She is the sweetest kindest woman, and she really wants you to pass. She is the only teacher I know that provides you with STUDY GUIDES!!! She's awesome!!!
I was disappointed. She is very sweet, but the quality of her teaching leaves much to be desired. Her lectures were boring and monotonous, rife with historical and geographical errors, yet she was critical and condescending to the students for not being more interested. It's as though she's lost her motivation. She could do better. (I made an A.)
BORING! All we do is read from the book. Study guides are provided, however notes and pages are very long and sometimes things appear on test that aren't on study guide. Very disorganized and very boring class. Also, if she doesn't like you, you will KNOW. She can be so harsh to kids leaving or late!
Awful. Never even stands to teach. Study guides don't match tests, removes information like the Mexican-American war but must know minor details like how Andrew Jackson shut down banks. Really disorganized, so boring. Better to just take online. Made a history lover like myself loathe history
The worst teacher I've ever had, hands down. She doesnt start her lessons until 2 weeks into the semester, and she grades by how much she likes you. I made all A's and B's on the assignments/tests, and somehow I ended up with a C in the class -_- Don't expect to gain anything from this class. How does this woman have a job?
i am not a fan of history so her teaching made it a little harder to like it. she takes 2 weeks to just get through 4 pages and we would have an exam in 1 week and barely covered the chapter. what she reviews does not match the test. when you take her class just read ahead of the class to past the tests. she is a nice lady but not a good teacher.
worse teachers ever, very confusing, she be all over the place, very hard to understand, if u into b.s'ing this the teacher for u....
Lecture-Lecture-Lecture it sounds boring but if you stay awake in class and read a few handouts you'll never need to open your book or STUDY!!! What you hear is what you get. So just sit there listen and get an "A". She likes participation and she's truly old school so show some respect and understanding for her style- and read your syllabus!!
Good teacher. Grades fairly and gives many opportunities to students to do well. A little quirky but overall a good instructor. She likes lots of oral discussion and writing. Show up, participate in class and complete assignments. They will help on exams.
She speaks softly and does not teach what is on her tests. One time we spent days on one chapter and there was one question on the test about it. She picks favorites with students and does not do well with questions. If you ask her a question it turns into a argument .
Hardest teacher ever.
She's a nice, sweet teacher even though her lectures can be a tad boring. She's funny and tries to lighten up the class if none of the students participates. Her tests doesn't really match of what she lectures you just have to read the whole chapter to get the answers.
It is almost finals week, we have TWO TESTS for grades and we had to go visit a museum on student study day (btw she cancelled the trip to the museum at 5 in the morning, and then told us to go anyway for a grade). no real office hours, just "catch her". There is no h.w YOU must PARTICIPATE in the class discussions. she uses the word stupid ALOT!!
She did not put any grades in the system the ENTIRE semester. I couldn't see how I was doing until the final grade went in, and even then I couldn't see what I did wrong.
