WOOT! This woman knows how to teach painting and color! You are going to draw as never before. Critiques are really productive and our class got along great. We had a bucket of fun! You must experience "The Baronian."
Prof. Baronian changed my life! She honestly loves all her students and is constantly working to be the best Prof. SCAD's ever seen! She's always there to hep you. I've had her answer my e-mails at 2 AM several times. She definitely know what she's doing. So work hard and you will be well awarded! She's one hott pepper :)
Professor Baronian is an awesome teacher! She's funny, helpful and makes class interesting. I was really scared to draw people at first, but I love it now, and I definitely improved in the class. There are assignments do every class, but it pushes you to do better!
Professor Baronian is the best teacher ever!! I loved her! She is willing to help you, understands problems, and is so clear on what she wants. Patience is her middle name. She is tons of fun and very outgoing. I loved being in her classes. If you are afraid of drawing a certain way--dont' worry. If you give 100% you will do great. :)
An awesome lady and wonderful professor! Professor Baronian knows her stuff and is dedicated to helping her students succeed and become stronger artists. I learned more about life drawing under her guidance then I learned taking 3 life drawing courses at my previous university. Don't leave SCAD without taking a class with Professor Baronian!
Very good teacher! Goes out of her way to help students in and out of class. Very fun and personable. Not a fully comprehensive storyboard class, but for two months it covered as much as possible. Fun class!
Amazing character!!! Excellent teacher with great interest inthe field of drawing, especially figures. She is extremely helpful, understading, BUT she gives tons of homework!!! You have to write online personal threads every week + classwork + homework + sketchbook. She rocks for Life Drawing!!!
Amazing teacher...I went into the class absolutely dreading it, with no interest, and now that it's over I actually miss it! Take this professor if you get the chance. Lots of work, but totally worth it for what you get out of the class.
Seems like I'm part of a long list of people to say great things about her. She absolutely knows what she's doing, and goes out of her way to help you in so many ways. She is an amazing person and an amazing teacher.
She is one of the most enthusiastic person I have ever met. From teaching to enjoying life she is really enthusiastic. I learned not just in terms of new methods but the way to think positively about your artwork and life. She feeds you with great confidence that you will enjoy each work. You should take at least one of her classes.
she has helped me grow not only in my drawing/art skills and also in everyday life. She really does care about her students . She has shown me so much in the ten weeks. She will know your limit and will push you until you reach it and will keep pushing. Much love and much respect.
she is amazing and helps you out if you're just willing to try. she is bubbly and not strict, but expects alot out of you. she doesn't get angry, as long as you try and have your supplies! she's a motivator, not a criticizer
Brilliant. Absolutely Brilliant.
She is passionate about her work and it shows. With her enthusiastic and vibrant personality it's impossible not to like her class. Even if you don't like drawing or have never taken drawing before- you'll probably be pleasantly surprised at what you accomplish with her help.
Beth is awesome, she is one of the most personable and wonderful teachers I have ever had. And she truly has a passion for what she does.
Professor Baronian is an excellent teacher. She is extremely passionate about what she does, and keeps you laughing throughout class. She remains in daily contact with students through email, keeping everyone on the same page. All around great teacher and person, would recommend her to any student looking to improve and enjoy drawing.
Great energy and she really cares about her students. She gives a lot of work, but at this school, that goes without saying.
I really enjoyed professor Baronian's class. It is very fun and worth taking for drawing one. There is a lot of work involved but you are able to learn a lot about your drawing skills and how to become a better artist. I am glad that I took her class and highly recommend her to any student.
Professor Baronian is a GREAT teacher! She gives a ton of individual attention, and really wants everyone to improve. I think she grades fairly. She grades on improvement. Whether you have previous experience or not, you will learn a lot. She also gives a lot of extra credit oppourtunities.
I had a lot of fun in her class. I would definitley recommend taking any of her drawing classes.
this teacher is the best! take her. baronian is my hero! no better teacher ever. so dedicated.
really good teacher! I got a whole lot better in my drawing skills!
i took her for life drawing and she is absolutely AMAZING!!! There is a lot of extra credit opportunities, and no reason for anyone to excel in this class. She really cares about all her students, and really will give her extra free time to help you improve in your drawings. i would recommend her for any and ALL of her classes. MUST HAVE CLASS!!!!!
This class is a lot of work and will probably be your most time-consuming one in the quarter, but it is definitely worth it, and you come out learning a ton. She's very understanding and will work with you. You're not graded compared to everyone else, but based on your individual progress. She's very helpful individually. Highly recommend!!
Baronian's life drawing class will take over you life! All graded work is done outside of class. There is a homework assignment due every Monday and tons to sketchbook work due every Wednesday. She's really easy on people who can't draw, and barely pays attentions to the people who are actually good. Take Baronian if you are a film major.
Truly a wonderful professor. I would recommend everyone to take her class. She is really dedicated to what she does, believes in students' ability and works with the student to bring out the best that they can be. She is always available for consultation via e-mail and will get back to you the same day.
had prof. b for drawing I + II.. shes a great professor. it can get hard at times, and some of the projects will scare the crap out of u because they tend to be on a very large scale, but overall she really wants you to excel. lots of extra credit oppurtunities, and in general grades on your personal improvement, basically take her class if u can
Professor Baronian was highly recommended to me by a friend, and she lived up to my expectations. Definitely the best teacher I have had so far at SCAD, and I plan on taking a class with her next quarter too. She is fairly easy, but you still learn countless useful skills. She also encourages experimentation unlike many teachers I have heard of.
I have Pro. Baronian for Drawing One and Drawing Two. She is possibly the best teacher at SCAD! She has a fun, energetic personality. She is always willing to help you, even outside of class! I learned so much from her. The only project she gives that is really scary is the huge still-life's, but they are easier than you think. Call her Pro. BLAZE!
She is an excellent teacher, very enthusiastic. She does expect a lot of work for life drawing but so do most teachers. She gives a lot of extra credit so it's really easy to bring up your grade. She really cares about her students and works hard to make her class beneficial to your major. She gears her class towards getting you a great portfolio.
very nice, generous lady and is extremely eager to help in any way she can. Sympathetic toward her students and asks for lots of feedback to improve her class. She cares about what her class thinks, and offers many opportunities for extra credit. The class isn't impossibly difficult, but it will definitely keep you busy. You WILL learn a lot.
She is a great professor! She knows her stuff and is able to convey her thoughts with ease. This is course is really intense! There is ALOT of work involved but you will come out with a greater command of figure drawing. If you are really interested in moving yourself to the next level then take her class!
I love professor Baronian! She is an amazing teacher. I have learned a lot in her class and definitely recommend her for drawing two. She is very passionate and helpful about her work. If you get the opportunity to take her class, DO IT!!
One of the best professors I've had so far (I'm in the 3rd Quarter of my first year). She's excellent and I would take her again. She does, however, assign huge projects (scale wise) so I wouldn't necessarily take one of her classes if you have another class that's pretty heavy.
Professor who probably influenced and thaught me most in life, no kidding. She is one of the best, very passionate and a great person! I will miss this class and being covered in pastel (her fav. media). BUT, if you take her: DO NOT buy all the supplies on the list right away (expensive!!), buy as you need them! She'll teach you well!!!
Beth Baronian is a must-take. She is extremely passionate about what she is teaching and cares that you get the best experience possible out of her class. She doesn't give a rediculous amount of homework, but when she does it's usually enjoyable and fun. She's as personable as a teacher can get without being creepy, and the best drawing prof at scad
A kind and wonderful woman! Her concern for her students is apparent in everything she does, and you can always ask for help, she's ready and willing! The only problem I've had with her (and this may just be in Drawing II, I've heard different things from Life Drawing students) is that she can go a little easy on her students in terms of criticism.
Professor Baronian is extremely challenging with the workload she gives, but with good reason. Her class is about progress, and she strives to see some degree of improvement in her students from week to week. Even if you are not a morning person, her charismatic way of teaching will keep you on your toes.
Great teacher-fun to be around. Would take any art class she taught. She's helpful and fair. The class was fun and I learned a lot.
Awesome teacher, great energy, personality and love for teaching.
Very energetic professor. You get a lot of info along with a ton of work in the class, but as long as you try hard, you will succeed. You will be surprised with the improvements at the end of the quarter. There are lots of extra credit opportunities, so it's not hard to get maintain your grade.
she is VERY enthusiastic about life drawing, and it rubs off on her class. great sense of humor and loves to laugh. very dedicated. sincerely interested in accomodating the needs of the class. the work load is fairly heavy because there is a project and journal due once a week, which means a weekly critique as well. you will learn a lot!reccomended
One of my favorite teachers by far! Great energy, funny, amazing personality.. learned so much through her and her passionate teaching methods
Had her for life drawing, she's really sweet. She is genuinely interested in helping her students. Be prepared, though, you will do a LOT of work, including some large format stuff. The class is pretty fun and you'll learn a lot as long as you keep up with your work.
Sweet woman. Be prepared for large scale projects in general, which often take lots of time. You might not always know exactly what she means, but she does give out her cell number if you have questions. Sometimes laughs at students, but it's just her sense of humour. Fairly easy grader. BUY SUPPLIES AS YOU GO, because you won't use it all!
nice woman, good personality. large projects tho.
Very lenient and understanding, but the projects are ridiculously large. Also, she only uses charcoal, so you don't get much experience with other medias. I recommend her only if you're ambitious when it comes to drawing. Extremely nice though, and she really tries to help you if you're no Picasso.
Willing to help if you ask. She really makes an effort to be available inside and outside of class. The assignments were not easy (large scale work), but as long as you try, you'll do fine. She understands if you are not the "best" drawer. Very understanding if your major is non-drawing related. She doesn't force her ideas upon students
Blaze is almost always in good spirits and will really help you understand the human form. There is a lot of work involved, but it will make you so much better in the end. Plus she gives out so much extra credit it will only be your fault if you don't end up with an A, whatever your drawing skills are.
BEST TEACHER!!! So inspiring! I hate drawing, but I loved this class! She gives a lot of work, but most of the assignments are really fun! PLUS...she makes every class really enjoyable! TAKE her if you want to have a POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE drawing experience! Be ready to WORK...but also be ready to really have fun and LOVE your class!!! AWESOME!!!
Baronian makes her classes pretty fun and easy. She is a very entertaining person who has tons of experience in so many different fields. She really does know her stuff. The only problem i had with the class was the size requirements for the homework assignments, they were a little ridiculous and very awkward to work with.
Bubbles is an extremely encouraging professor who works effectively with students across a wide range of skill levels. Bottom line: show that you're working hard(!) to improve and you will get the grade, regardless of where your drawing skill was to begin with. Lots of EC opportunities and creative flexibility. You will work large-scale a lot.
I love baronian and I just have been in the class for 4 weeks. the projects kick your butt... but teach you how to work hard.
bi scale drawings..most are 30X40 and the paper isnt cheap..however she is a very entertaining professor and has a lot to teach you. As long as you attempt to get all of the work done, she is pretty lenient with grading. You must show that you made an effort! Tells weird jokes..but you gotta love her!
Baronian is great, very understanding, nice, upbeat. She tries to make drawing interesting for every major. Her assignments are HUGE though, which made it difficult for me because I am not a drawer, but she still recognizes effort. Her class was fun and she tries to help you as a student on a budget and her critiques weren't too harsh but helpful.
Baronian is a really nice and fun lady, just not a very competent teacher. She doesn't actually teach anything, so be prepared to fail your post-test. All of her drawing one projects are drawing two projects just in black and white. I didnt really improve any of my drawing skills. Her projects are also BIG, and slightly ridiculous for drawing one.
Dont buy the supplies, buy as you go or else you will have spent a ton of money and not used anything but vine charcoal. Be prepared to work ridiculously big in both homework and projects. She's willing to help if you need it, but never really specifies how you're doing or if you need to work on anything. If you cant draw or hate to draw, drop asap
Awesome woman who loves to help! Very entertaining and encouraging. Very passionate about art and makes drawing less intimidating. However, I won't take her again only because I still can't really draw. We only had 4 projects and to improve at drawing you need to practice a lot! She even says this! Only 4 projects isn't enough. I love her though!
Baronian, commonly known as Blaze=loads of fun, energy, and helpfulness. She knows exactly how to get you on the right track in your work. She loves to make class fun with music that sets the mood. Critiques are honest and heart-filled and give you just enough help without hurting our artists hearts.Five stars for a honest, caring, and friendly teacher.
Baronian is amazing. She is outgoing and eager to teach her students. She is understanding, but will push you to do your best regardless. If you are eager to improve your technique and approach in drawing, take Baronian.
She is a Good Teacher. I liked her a lot. Her Assignments are easy to do and at the same time help improve your drawing skills. I really enjoyed this class. She is also very funny and bubbly. so, its fun drawing in her class.
Professor Baronian is one of my favorite professors at SCAD. She is a fair grader and an honest yet positive teacher. Her projects are VERY large, and more about the creative process. She does not put many limitations on what you can create. If you try hard you can come out of her class with some great pieces! I loved her!
Blaze is a really awesome person, but sometimes rambles during demos. Her assignments are on ridiculously huge paper. Bring headphones if you don't want to listen to experimental jazz and disney music.
I've had Prof Baronian twice (draw1 and portrait) and really liked both classes. She has a lot of experience and is really enthusiastic about her classes. Def goes out of her way to help students and she takes into account your major. Manageable work load, laid back environment, and best field trips ever (usually going out to eat). Great professor
Professor Baronian is an incredible teacher, I took her for Drawing one, two, and Life Drawing. She is a lot of fun and really knows her stuff. Baronian pushes her students toward their highest potential and she truly cares about helping them succeed at SCAD and in a future career. Some projects are large and the sketchbook is important in Draw200
Life Drawing can be challenging, but she does a good job teaching students how to understand the structure of the human body. There is a big emphasis on a sketchbook, so make sure you like sketching. She allows extra time after drawings are due to improve them and earn extra points which is nice. A moderately challenging class but you learn a lot.
Baronian's assignments are a bit large sometimes but she gives adequate time to work on them and you will be fine if you keep on schedule. She gives extra credit opportunities and is extremely helpful. I came into her classes with no confidence in my drawing skills and now I'm pretty good. her projects take time, but it's worth it. (no textbook)
Professor Baronian has a great energy and she genuinely cares about students always willing to work with them. I would take her class again and again if I could. In life drawing the array of techniques we have learnt are refreshing. Take her!
No iPods or phones when there's a model, but Blaze is loads of fun and very helpful. She works with your major, and doesn't do the skeleton assignment. You will need an anatomy book, but you get whatever is in your budget or borrow someone else's. Shows both gesture and finesse rendering and what to do in detail. Very good class and prof.
Professor Baronian had very helpful and challenging classes! I've taken two separate drawing classes by her and I have to say she has definitely helped sharpen my skills! Great studio atmosphere and lots of helpful demonstrations.
Baronian is awesome. She is fun, relevant, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her field. Every person in my Drawing II class that showed up and put the time in saw great improvement and added some great work to their portfolio. She's extremely present with her students and is all about developing strong student-mentor relationships.
I have had Blaze for 3 quarters now, and I believe she is one of the best teachers here at SCAD. My drawing ability has increased greatly since I entered her class. She knows when to go easy on you, but she also knows when it is time to kick you in the butt. I highly recommend this professor for any student who needs a drawing class.
Professor Baronian is great. She is always smiling and she is very positive. You work with pastels, and charcoal. Her projects are really big, so you end up working on them for about 20 hours. But its is worth it in the end. I do recommend her. Take her! be ready to work!
A good solid teacher, you will definitely learn a lot. Projects are large and time limits can be tight. She is very helpful though and will help you through any problems you may have. Just be prepared to work and learn in a fun and goofy environment.
Professor Baronian knows what she teaches and teaches it well. She has drawn all her life and has real world experience using drawing as a skill. For Life Drawing, most of the assignments are in class, except for the sketchbook. The sketchbook assignment is huge but is a great way to learn human anatomy and drawing the human body. RECOMMENDED.
Baronian was probably some of the most fun I've had in a class. She is always excited to teach, her teaching style is easy to follow. She cares about her students more than any other SCAD professor I've seen. She realizes difficulties happen in our lives and accommodates to that. She is a level headed soul. No doubt.
She is one of my favorite professors at SCAD. I've chosen her classes for 3 quarters in a row now. Her assignments are definitely challenging, however it really pushes you to do your best. She has taught me to push myself and to do better and because of that my drawing skills have improved immensely! Be prepared to work, but also to have a lot fun!
Wonderful professor with a wild imagination. She gives you a lot of freedom with your projects and is very understanding and helpful if you encounter some sort of dilemma (be it academic or more personal) during your time in class. She's very funny and compassionate and the class is very laid back. I would highly recommend her!
Baronian is wild! She has this big crazy hair and is just fun! The only thing I didn't like about this class was how big we had to draw....HUGEEEE. But you don't have to be amazing at drawing to do well in her class. She also judges by your personal improvement...doesn't compare you to other students.
She's my favorite professor I've had at SCAD so far. She's really helpful and understands her students. Really wants all her students to improve and has a really high skill level. Has a lot of experience in the industry as well. She gets a reputation as being really hard, but I've learned more in her classes then I ever have. I really reccommend he
She is incredibly helpful, and gives her students the personal attention they need. She fun! Her sketchbook assignments were a lot of work, but she grades it easy. She gives the class an in depth analysis of the human figure, which is extremely useful when drawing the figure. Her goal is to teach us to render as if we were Michelangelo.
Has changed her curriculum recently and it goes to show how much she strives to teach her students exactly what they need to succeed. Will keep your major in mind when grading you, and focus on strengthening the skills required in your field of study. NO PROJECTS BIGGER THAN 18X24; the sketchbook isn't bad (but START EARLY). One of SCAD's finest.
Baronian is a great lady and an encouraging professor. She truly wants all her students to do well even if they're not a drawing major! She made the class a positive experience 100% of the time! However, I can't say I learned much. She was almost too nice when it came to critiques. You have to ask for harsher critiques but I would take her again!
AMAZING
Amazing Teacher! I loved her, and I will be taking her twice next semester. She considers your major when grading and helps you learn the specific skills for your major. She really cares about her students and she gets to know each student as a person. She is my favorite professor at SCAD!
Very helpful and passionate. She'll reply to any questions quickly since she checks e-mail often. The workload does get a bit hard, but start early and keep that stress away (:
Fantastic teacher. She loves life drawing, knows what she's doing and can present it to students in such a way that they really learn. Considers your major when talking one on one with you. Class is never intimidating because she's pretty relaxed and fun. Everyone in our class improved a lot.
I absolutely love Beth Baronian! She was so fun and you don't do any still lifes in Drawing 2. She makes the class interesting and lets you experience with different media later on in the class. very fun!
Pretty good professor. Didn't feel like a drawing class, it was so out there and she encouraged us to experiment so much. Critiques were long and some ppl were short changed. Over all it was an amazing experience. I would recommend her to anyone. Especially if you are a student that procrastinates and needs a get-out-of-jail-free card!!
this woman is crazy but shes cool. lectures are boring and long. she likes google, she's entertaining, and likes crazy artwork. don't play it safe with her. follow her guidelines, but make crazy art and she'll like you. she tries to way too professional sometimes, shes better when shes just chill and herself.
Best teacher I've ever had. Her assignments are awesome, and literally everyone in the class ends up putting out amazing work. Her projects are interesting (you will never do a still life) even borderline experimental. If you are interested in drawing or want to get better TAKE HER.
I had Professor Baronian for Portrait Drawing, and she was absolutely amazing! She is incredibly passionate about her work, and the most devoted prof to her students. She will love you to death if you try your best in her class. She's fun, but very down to earth and extremely helpful. She's always on "your side" and wants her students to succeed.
LOVE her as a person, very fun, passionate, and loves her students. I didn't get much out of her class, though, because she is much too lax during the critiques. As a result, everyone's work was always very unimpressive (but she never seemed to think so). Loves experimentation. Lectures are boring, and she spends a lot of time GISing (also boring).
I love professor Blaze! She's just all kinds of crazy, in the best way possible! She really knows her stuff and she'll help you apply whatever you do to your major! you get to experiment and have fun with the assignments! the class was wonderful!!! Prepare to spend a good ammount of time on each assignment though..
The class is perfect. The open-endedness of her assignments allow you to draw what you want. As a result you find yourself more invested in your projects. Every assignment is a work of art, because it stems from your creativity. If your jam is drawing stuff in the anderson basement, don't take Baronian. She's the raddest cat alive.
Great teacher-crazy,fun, passionate, & cares about her students. Very experimentally and no still lives. Thought this class would be frustrating but she grades you on your major and I produced my best work in her class even though I struggle the most with drawing. Just have fun and think out side of the box..i would definitely recommend her:]
Crazy, fun, exciting, passionate teacher who cares about her students. Has alot of experience in mult. fields so she grades you on your major. no still lives, interesting projects that make you think out side of the box-drawing is my worst subject but i produced my best work in her class. i didnt mind going to class-alot work but not overwhelming
Professor Baronian has been my favorite professor here at scad by a long shot, she pushed me while maintaining an extremely positive mood for all of her students, She's the bomb in my book! I'm sure she will see this also :) Thanks so much professor! -Jobey
I had Blaze for drawing 1 and 2. Her projects are ridiculously time consuming but she grades realllllly easy. She's funny and smart, and a bit out there, and she will bend over backward to help her students. Drawing 1 was really helpful, but Drawing 2 projects weren't really that much fun and they aren't anything I could use in a portfolio.
I had Baronian for Action Analysis 1, and she is awesome. Be prepared to draw your ass off. You start the class off with yoga every day. Our field trips included bowling and visiting city market. This class was great, you'll learn how to draw for animation, trust me.
Took her for action analysis and she wasn't that great. She starts out ever class with stretches, which is fun, but if you're on the worse end of drawing she doesn't really help you any. She'll give you advice on proportions but once you hit combined forms, if you don't get it, she doesn't help you. Take only if you already know how to draw.
I loved Blaze! She was very helpful in class and willing to communicate digitally as well. She had a good understanding of our work schedules and wallets and was willing to move deadlines and adjust supplies so we didn't have to break the bank. Completely awesome!
I loved Baronian's class I learned so much about weighted figures, shapes, and porportions. I still try to attend sketch club as much as possible. I hope she teaches action analysis II so I can take it and continue learning !
Great woman! Passionate about her craft. She LOVES her students, really. She's just good-hearted! She's a bit scatterbrained, often halfway through a project she'd change her mind as to what she wanted us to accomplish with the project. Interesting projects, fairly easy. She snuck me coffee one time from the teacher's lounge :)
Baronian is a wonderful professor! She really wants all of her students to succeed and will help you if you're struggling. She has a very entertaining/humorous personality and is kindhearted. I learned so much from her class and would definitely recommend it for animation majors!
Took her for action analysis! Amazing teacher, be prepared to keep a sketchbook and keep it well! Definitely recommending this teacher to anyone.
Discussions can get off-topic and out of hand, but she really loves her job and her students. She is quick to post grades and is easy to get in touch with.
Professor Baronian is one of the most passionate professors I've had. From the moment you step into the class it becomes evident that she loves to teach and wants to give the best she can to each student. She is encouraging and has a great sense of humor that makes taking a foundation class that is not necessarily directed to your major enjoyable.
Prof. Baronian is an excellent & talented woman who is great at what she does. Her expectations aren't ridiculously high but she does want to see her students do the best they can. Plus, work load is fair and reasonable. I've enjoyed my class with her greatly! I recommend her.
It was a good class.
The class was surprisingly clear and concise. The main point to remember when taking her class is to follow the project guidelines. If she asks for thumbnails, make them. If she asks for a specific format, make it fit the format. If she asks for 20 hours to be spent, spend the 20 hours. She's very fair on the grading as long as you put the time in.
I absolutely loved Baronian! My drawing has definitely improved after taking her class and she's motivated me to sketch in my sketchbook avidly. Her projects are fun and thought-provoking and her instructions are clear to the tee. She wants her students to do the best they can and she will always go out of her way to do so. She is wonderful!
Professor Baronian is really nice. Her projects are very interesting and creative. There is no way to can get a bad grade in that class. You can always resubmit your artwork or get extra-credit. You are going to have fun in her class and also good pieces for your portfolio!
This teacher was absolutely amazing. She is very helpful and kind to all her students. She hosts outside help sessions along with any personal 1 on 1 sessions needed. Would recommend her to anyone that is interested in drawing.
Professor Baronian is an excellent teacher she showed me all the techniques needed for drawing. I left her class confident with everything i learned from her.
My favorite drawing class ever. Baronian has a great personality and makes her class fun and challenging at the same time. Drawing skills DO improve and projects are creative and she creates a great learning environment. Dying to take another class with her, RECOMMENDED 150 PERCENT
Very much a good professor. She seems quite focused on developing one's self-representation and philosophy as an artist as well as technical ability. Projects are interesting and out of the ordinary, and grading is based on personal growth rather than in relation to other students.
A brilliant teacher, I became inspired on the first day of class. She told us that we would have to work hard, and we surely did. She was always kind and very loving. She sat with us and told us what we did nicely, and what needed work. (with me, drawing through). Prepare your minds to work in your sketchbooks everyday! and you will be successful.
Great teacher, she became a fast friend for most of us. Very interested in helping your personal development as an artist but also as a professional competing in the industry. Her love for drawing rubs off on you and definitely got me back into daily sketching. I'll be sure to visit her for guidance in the coming years :)
Baronian's one of those few professors that understands how to tailor a core class to every individual, regardless of major. Projects are open-ended enough for you to experiment without fear, and her grading policies for late work can be a godsend when other classes pile up. Perfect class for self-motivated people to get the attention they need.
She is a nice professor and tries to help her students any way possible. The class was more about experimenting with different media and styles, rather than improving the mastery of drawing.
A very easy-going professor who encourages improvement and experimentation with different media. As long as you put forth the effort, she'll go out of her way to help her students!
She is an excellent professor! She makes us work really hard and at the same time motivates us to do our best. I really enjoyed her class and learned a lot!
One of the best professors I've had. In Action Analysis you will learn how to draw the figure INSIDE and out. There are tons of required sketches to be done but every one is worth it when you realize you can capture a moving figure accurately in seconds. She makes the class fun and interesting while giving each student one on one advise.
I took Blaze once for a summer program for Drawing 100 and then put off Drawing 101 for two quarters so I could get in her class. You stretch at the beginning of class and she encourages listening to music in class. She is the sort of professor who is genuinely relieved to see you show up after you miss a day of class. Best Prof. at SCAD hands down
A LOT of work, but I do feel that I learned a lot from the class as well. There were only a couple instances where I was frustrated with some rude comments she made during a critique, but other than that she was a good teacher.
Professor Baronian is by far one of my favorite professors at SCAD. She is extremely helpful, funny and inspiring. I took her for both drawing 1 and 2 and thoroughly enjoyed both classes. I am a photo major and okay at drawing. She made me really enjoy drawing. The work load is reasonable but not ridiculous. I would definitely recommend her!!!
I had this amazing woman for both drawing 1 and 2. She is funny, cooky, thought provoking and quite possibly the best drawing teacher I have ever had. I was by no means proficient at drawing before attending her class but so long as it is clear that you are trying and putting the work into it she can be very forgiving and nurturing. time consuming
I'd Had this Professor for Drawing 1 and i love her so much she is very helpful, makes learning fun, and she dances with bunnies!
she has an incredible passion for teaching and ssoooo much energy. loved her class, best scad teacher ive had yet
No matter the major, Baronian has something worthwhile to teach her students. This is actually what she bases her curriculum around: finding the most effective way of relating the art of drawing to one's artistic inclinations. Best drawing prof I've had.
BEST TEACHER EVER! She is very helpful and nows what she is doing. She is a good connection to have, since she helps you even after you leave her class. She is very nice and funny!! LOOOVE HER!
I can say Baronian is the most wonderful professor I've had so far. When I went to visit SCAD as a senior in high school, she reviewed my work and inspired me to keep persevering and working. I signed up for her action analysis class by chance and it was a fun experience! Its a lot of work, but shes an easy grader and will make sure you learn!
I’ve never met a teacher who cares so much about her students. If you’re trying, you’ve got nothing to fear. It’s a lot of work, but if you struggle, she’ll grade more on effort-though with her teaching you’ll be amazed at how much better you get! She’s also one of those great professors who’s just as happy to see you even after you’ve left her class.
I took her for color theory. It was her first time teaching this specific class, so it was a bit unorganized at times, but she more than made up for it with her helpfulness. She gets involved with her students and lets them orient the assignments towards their major.
She is horrible. If you are majoring in illustration or something close you will get 150 on everything.she tells you a project then the class before will tell you more things to add and then she expects so much more than what you were originally supposed to do. SHe loads on projects. You dont learn anything.I hope you like nature.thats all you draw.
I had Beth for Action Analysis. She wants all of her students to succeed, so she gives you a good grade if you at least try. I'm not very good at drawing anything, but she still gave positive feedback and wanted all of us to do well. The class is a lot of work, but as long as you do the sketchbooks you'll be okay.
Baronian puts a huge emphasis on working with her students on an individual basis and she makes herself available to help with any problems you may be having. Lots of assignments so be prepared to work but she makes it fun with class trips. We do stretches every class to warm up, too:)
Prof. Baronian made the class fun and enjoyable. She has a very upbeat attitude so you won't be bored. I recommend that everyone should take her for Action Analysis.
Not too difficult, just manage your time. Also I hope you like stretching.
Professor is enthusiastic helpful and pretty cool. kind of annoying at times though. Sometimes of the full 2.5 hours I thought parts were wasted. Shes a Rule follower about attendance and being late. Allows redos due the next class so thats awesome.
Baronian has the second highest work load when it comes to the intro to animation class (Troy being first). And while it can be daunting and stressful it is EXTREMELY helpful. She also always keeps spirits high in class with a fun and quirky attitude and is extremely easy to talk to when you are having trouble. 100% recommended
Beth Baronian is one of the funnest teachers I have ever had in my life. Her positive attitude motivates you to do your work in a comfortable and relaxed environment. She also is very knowledgeable of her field and is incredibly helpful and clear.
Professor Baronian is extremely helpful and passionate about her field. She will really encourage you if you show interest. If you're into illustration/animation, take her. Projects in color theory included copying an oriental rug, creating a fantasy bird, making a tea cup and designing your own project according to your major.
Professor Baronian is very interested in not only her field but her students. She has no problem talking about the industry. Her projects will seem very time consuming, especially if you are in fine art classes that require a lot of time as well, but they are worth it. It's a great base for learning how to properly sketch and research for yourself.
I've had her for Action analysis and color theory and both classes were a joy. Very personable lady who will bend over backwards for you as soon as you ask her to. Sometimes I found her lectures confusing but I'd absolutely recommend her, she's the kind of teacher that will be there for you your entire college career, if you want her to be.
She is a lady that loves to laugh and finds enjoyment in the little things. I had her for Action Analysis and there was never a dull moment. We stretch as a class first thing before we do work. There is a lot of work involved though. Be prepared to spend about the majority of your quarter on this class. Also be prepared to enjoy yourself.
Professor Baronian is an enthusiastic woman who is a great person, but is difficult to learn from in her classes. She is almost too forgiving when she hands out grades (e.g. A is 150/100 and a C is 100/100) and does not give good tips if you need help improving your work. Supplies are really expensive. Only take her if you already know how to draw.
Love this lady. She is a very enthusiastic woman and enjoys coming to class all the time. She is engaged and does evrrything she can to help you so long as you reach out and ask her. She is also crazy in love with effort, and therefore offers several extra credit opportinities. Very conversational, and I have her again this quarter. No textbook.
Most caring professor you'll ever have. She really wants everyone to do well and is always offering her help, replies to emails fast at any time. Loves to give 100s, gets really excited about art & gives a lot of freedom. Talks a lot so class time is pretty useless, if youre really intense you won't like her but otherwise she's awesome.
she is very kind, and helpful. Also very understanding.
I absolutely love Professor Baronian. I took her for DRAW 101. I was initially surpried that the drawing class actually involved a lot of painting and mixed media. She gives lots of opportunities for extra credit which can free you up to take more risks with projects.
One of the best classes I've taken at SCAD. Baronian has become a great mentor and friend.
Baronian has become one of my closest friends and she's the nicest professor around. You'll learn fantastic things in Action Analysis and have fun doing it. Although some students abuse her extra credit system, she will make sure you don't fail the class which will help you in the long run. Take the class!
This professor is wonderful, the experience she brings to the table as an educator is incredible. She is passionate about her job and her students success. She could teach a rock to draw, if you take her class I promise you won't regret it!
Do the extra credit! She gives a lot of opportunities for extra points.
fun teacher there's a lot of work but it really does help
Amazing professor, the work load can start to feel overwhelming if you don't keep on top of it but she gives you plenty of time for assignments and gives suggestions for how to get them done. Class work is engaging. Field trips are a delight. Would take her again for sure!
BaronianBlaze is amazing. She has such an awesome personality, is hilarious, and wants you to have fun. She assigns A LOT of homework, so procrastinating is NOT an option (I learned the hard way). Get started on your assignments early, and you'll get an A.
I absolutely love Prof. Baronian. She says her goal is to make students love to draw and become passionate about it. She assigns a TON of homework, but it's all worth it because of the enormous amount that you improve. She's hilarious and wants class to be fun, and it definitely is.
Blaze is very nice, but her instructions are confusing. She wastes time on simple concepts and cartoons, limiting drawing to 30 minutes max. Tons of work, don't pair with ANIM 202 like I did. Points made in class were also refuted by 202 prof. EXPENSIVE!! If serious about gesture, take a different prof.
This was hands-down, the worst professor I could imagine for a drawing II class. For whatever reason, we were assigned to write a PAPER for a drawing class??! She also LOVES THUMBNAILS. For each assignment, you have to do at least 15- and these are not normal thumbnails. They take hours. She is also very strange and likes weird assignments.
Definitely not my favorite professor. Little to no studio time because she talks the entire time, so her required "20 hours" of work is outside of class is just too much. The biggest annoyance was the 5 page paper + powerpoint. There is no reason to write so much for a drawing class and the essay isn't related to the class. Wouldn't take again.
I took her for intro to storyboarding, and she didn't actually teach us anything about storyboarding until the last two weeks. Her grading criteria is unspecific, and almost none of the loads of work she gave us related to storyboarding. She's very nice, but focuses on her personal intrests and not the point of the class.
Baronian is a fun character for sure, and although she gave long lectures for a studio class, I will admit that I took a lot out of her class. She explores the impact of being an artist as well as the importance of higher education, which I found refreshing. Not your typical drawing class, but it pushed me to become a better artist and person.
Blaze offers a lot of help and a large amount of extra credit. However the homework is intense. Time management is key. Or a few all nighters.
Professor Blaise is the bomb. She's one of my favorite teachers at scad and really looks out for her students. The class can be hard, and there is a paper/presentation that you have to do, but it' helps you develop concepts. She has her students do thumbnails for each of her projects, and it's a great class for someone in anim, illu, vfx, or sequa
She's nuts but awesome. It's best going in that you have some experience in drawing because she starts off with some expectations, but you WILL get an A. If you ever need anything, in this class or in life, she is there for you and will remember you for quarters to come. Blaze Rocks!
Blaze is the perfect combination of energetic, inspirational, and outgoing. The homework assignments are easy to understand, and so are the midterm and final projects. Although there's a lot of work in this class, it is definitely worth it. You'll see yourself improve monumentally throughout it.
I've heard many aspiring artists crazed by her kindness and teachings although as this quarter is rearing to an end, I am ecstatic to have a new teacher. I have found the class extremely easy and nonchallenging. The critiques could be more useful and grading is tougher. The class has lacked studio time and been filled with lectures.
I found her very self-centered and obnoxious. She goes off on so many tangents and wastes so much time in class. I did not learn anything from her I could not have picked up on my own. DO NOT take her for ANIM 180. If her DRW 200 class is any indication, it will be a huge waste of your time and money, find someone actually worth the time and energy
I had Blaze for DSGN 100. It was an experience to say the least. She was kind to us, but I didn't learn much and her grades are intranslatable to real life. I got 150% on some projects. The assignments call for a lot of outside purchases compared to normal foundations courses. She is so eccentric it gets overbearing. Its an easy A, but a weird A.
In short: she's amazing if you're looking for a professor who is supportive and caring. However, I don't feel as though her teaching methods for life drawing are effective. Lots of master copies, few model sessions. I've taken life drawing before, and comparatively I learned less about anatomy in this class and more about being a copyist.
Very understanding and cares about you as a student. She takes your major into consideration and promises y'all will be art buddies for life even after the class. Get started on the sketchbooks early.
Baronian is a very nice lady and I can see that she cares about her students. I took Digital drawing class but she seemed more focused on traditional art. The problem that I had with my class is that it was so unorganized and she had a hard time giving constructive feedback. I feel like she graded all of the wrong things (Didnt grade for quality)
She likes photoshop, but knows nothing about "Digital Drawing". The classes seem improvised, & the syllabus is rarely followed. She adds extra assignments to things that are already due at random. Gets very defensive when you ask her to explain things. Tldr; If you know photoshop, find a better class. If not, find a better teacher to learn from.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to learn much from her. She promotes tracing to learn and I found that very disappointing. The classes felt tedious and didn't follow the syllabus. Digital Drawing is a fun topic- go find someone who teaches it well.
While she's a nice person, her class is very disorganized, its hard to find what she wants or when she wants it. She tends to assign a bunch of tedious assignments with each project which build up. She has a weak understanding of Photoshop, if you know anything about the program you won't learn much. Class felt like a waste of time personally.
I love professor Blaze, shes a great teacher and an inspiring woman, shes crazy in all the right ways. Her assignments can be large and time consuming but thats because she cares and wants you to improve and reach you maximum potential, she also she likes having fun with them, we even had a pirate day to learn how to draw folds on clothing.
Didn't learn anything. Her extra help didn't help.
She brought us food and always made sure that we were doing ok. She was funny and really made sure to pay attention to everyone.
Do NOT take this professor if you want to get better at drawing. She plays favorites like no other. She gives little to no helpful feedback (one time I typed out a very long email solely to recieve a :) in reply with no answers to any of the questions I asked). She expects 22 hours per project, but no one actually does that.
Hard pass. She's salty she couldn't retire when she wanted to, so everyone suffers because she doesn't care. Barely replies to emails, offers strange&sometimes mean "critiques" nobody understands, and her "caring" is pure ego. Wastes lots of time on tangents unrelated to the course. Very disorganized. She'll praise a piece then give you a D. Yikes.
Blaze is a nut, but in the greatest way! She is hilarious and never fails to make the class laugh. She truly loves and cares about her students. If you are not experienced at drawing you can still succeed, but you're going to be putting 10x more work than some of your peers. Most of her assignments are done out of class and require LOTS of hours.
You're graded on projects alone. You need to be ready to display work that looks as if you put in 22 hours of work outside of class. Your participation matters during critiques. She gives incredible amounts of EC on each project, so take advantage of it! She was easily available vie email, but in person she was difficult to get time to speak with.
Very confusing to know what is expected. If you ask her for specific things to improve or change on your drawing, she says one thing but grades something else. Most of the time I was trying to figure out what to do. It's hard to get time with her during class and she was not in her office when she said she would be.
Blaze will help you if you're new to drawing figures, but if youre experienced, she gives you basically no critique. I found myself getting pretty annoyed by her every week. Almost feels like she has a hard time saying no or making people upset. She's not a bad teacher, but I found myself frustrated by her lack of critique.
I was super nervous going into drawing class due to my lack of prior experience with formal drawing instruction but Baronian was very encouraging. As long as she can tell you're putting in effort you'll make an A, but make sure to turn your phone off during class. Also she genuinely cares about all of her students but is not the most organized.
Blaze is super sweet, easily the nicest teacher. As long as you do the projects and put some effort in you'll do fine. She gives extra help and wants to see you succeed. I honestly can say that I've learned a ton from her.
LOVED Baronian! An awesome teacher for first time students. She was so helpful and easy going which made her class comfortable immediately. Easy to access out of class. Her projects were very straight forward and easy to do since you practice a lot in class. Easy grader. HILARIOUS and an extremely caring person. Gives a lot of feedback, really fun!
Professor is more interested in having fun than teaching. Great class if you already know the subject, but if you don't than this teacher is inept in teaching you. Basically she declined to give any help. Others in the class had the same experience. This class was terrible, frustrating and disappointing.
She is one of SCAD's finest professors, and an art mom to all! While the class seems intimidating at first glance from the syllabus, Baronian works with each student diligently especially if they're struggling. Some of the master copy assignments were somewhat tedious but overall all the work really pays off. Definitely take her if you can.
Inspiration oozes out of her!
I had Professor Blaze for ANIM 180 and that was the best class ever i had in my freshman year!!!. She is a very easy grader and fun loving. She makes the class fun and more like an actual studio! She has great field trips and extra credit opportunities. She is sweet and hilarious! She made us have a great portfolio and sketchbooks
Blaze is very nice and I love her energy but her class is a bit of a mess. She rarely responds to emails even when you text alert her like she tells you to. Project expectations (22 hours outside of class on each project) are insane and she doesn't seem to understand that you have work for other classes in addition to her own.
Awesome class, show up, do the work and you will excel
I had a lot of fun with this Life Drawing professor. I am not the best at anatomy but I improved so much! But I put in ALOT of work. There was an insane amount of outside work. She taught well but worked us hard. She really knew how to push me to grow based off my major. If you are willing to put in the work for skill then this is the class for you
The only thing I learned from this class was all from the textbook. I learned nothing from the professor, the lectures were pointless and consisted of her going off on tangents. She often spent most of the "class time" having us watch You-tube videos. She probably thought this was our only class and gave us ridiculous amounts of homework.
Im actually so shocked that Prof Baronian has such a high rating on here. This is by far the worst class Ive had to take. Every thing we do in this class is busy work and not productive. Most of the students in this class left producing the same quality work they came in with. I learned nothing and wasted so much money and paper on this class.
She's really nice and cares a lot about how well we did. She gave SOOO much homework, don't take her if you're taking four classes. I thought I was gonna implode with how much I had to do for her class. But the amount of progress I made in my drawing is insane so you'll definitely progress.
Prof. is nice, but there was so much work to do for this class, it was insane. There was a ton of outside work in the form of the sketchbook master copies, and there just wasn't enough time to do all the assignments she gave. Definitely WOULD NOT recommend, especially for animation students. She also went on random tangents every class.
She is very cool! She gives a lot of chances for making your grade better, also she is really into helping students with difficult situations. Projects are long and you really have to be aware of due dates and discussion posts
Prof Blaze is amazing!! She really cares for her students' mental health and would even offer personal zoom meetings for private critiquing. She loves it when you go the extra mile on your projects (and might even give extra credit for that). Make it a point to always contact her for feedback. Go to her demo videos if you can because it's helpful.
Professor Blaze is so kind! Her workload is a bit on the heavy side, but she always puts the students mental health above everything else. Also allows you to resubmit your project if you get a 70% or above and gives extra credit! Hosts extra help sessions pretty often and is a very kind and understanding professor. Definitely recommend!
Awful professor. She does not seem to recognize that she isnt our only class based on the amount of homework she gives. She spends way too much time on critiques and has kept us past class time before.
Prof. Baronian is very sweet but doesn't seem to be ready for teaching. there is so much wasted time every class when she is setting up for class. She has her favorites and there are the troublemakers and if your not one of them your pretty much ignored. I did learn some shading with charcoal with I enjoyed.
Professor "Blaze" is a gem. I would take any class offered by her regardless of what it is.
I LOVE BLAZE! One of the most caring and compassionate professors I have ever had, and I still keep in contact with her outside of class! She is so much fun and her projects are a blast. She isnt the best at doing demos, so if you are not a strong drawer, you may struggle a bit. Overall I loved taking her class and highly recommend her.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Professor Blaze. It's a lot of work but it's definitely doable just don't get behind. One of the kindest professors I've ever had, the kind you want to keep in touch with. Very understanding and has a very lenient late work policy. She gives great feedback and makes you feel like a friend. Couldn't recommend her more.
Professor Blaze obviously knows what she's doing but is very chaotic and scattered most of the time. Gives good feedback and a lot of opportunities for extra credit, which means if you want to put in the effort passing her class is a breeze. Be prepared to either speed through things or not get through anything during a class day.
Professor Blaze is eccentric to say the least. Her workload is isn't too bad if you already draw and its a part of your major, however if you have a more lecture based major then don't expect to really get much out of this class. I personally did not learn anything from this class except how to fake my way through a course. Not a super great time.
Professor Blaze is a gem of a human being. I had her for DRAW 102 as well. The workload is intense but she goes above and beyond to provide help sessions, extra demos and gives timely feedback. You have to put in the work. Period. But you will 100% be a better artist on the other side. I would take any class Blaze teaches.
Professor Blaze is a VERY unique and interesting lady. Spends a lot of time talking about former students and tends to repeat herself unnecessarily. But if you don't get an A in this class, that's on you, because she goes above and beyond to be always available for her students and provide so much extra credit. I never got less than 100 on anything
No words can describe how wonderful Professor Blaze is! She is a bit unorganized at times, but she really cares about the students and gives you everything you need to get an A in the class.
The class itself is really easy as long as she thinks you're putting effort into it, she is extremely passionate about her work which means at least half of the class is just her going on tangents irrelevant to the class which means you might get less studio time. There are only 5 grading opportunities but she is a very generous grader.
LOVE Prof. Blaze! She is fun, super easygoing, and gives easy extra credit all of the time. A lot of us had grades higher than 100. We do a lot of critiques, and the projects are creative, but they can be time consuming. She gives out her phone number to be easily accessible. I missed a good chunk of one class, and she didn't mark me absent.
Baronian is definitely eccentric. I had her last quarter & the class was fine; she is an easy grader due to the EC. I will warn you that if you do not create what she wants to see, she will berate you hard in class. She thinks she teaches with tough love, but for my class she went too far. She also likes to flaunt her "power" over our futures.
She barely gives time in her classes to do work and assigns A LOT of work outside of class. However, she also gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. Personally I didn't learn a lot in her classes (draw 100/101) but that honestly depends on the amount of experience you already have. Also note that she often has trouble resolving questions.
She is eccentric to say the least. Constantly yelling for no reason, goes on tangents that are unrelated to the course. Most of the class was "master copies," also known as copying thumbnails from blurry book pages. HEAVILY picks favorites. Hands out extra credit like candy. Easy A but SO unenjoyable. I learned nothing. Waste of time and money.
Professor Baronian was a super nice and helpful professor who was very understanding and accommodating to students who weren't skilled in drawing. HOWEVER, she gives so much homework and in-class assignments that leave you with little time to work on projects for other classes. I would not take her if you are planning to do a difficult course.
Took her for Illu225, it was her first time teaching in the illu department. She's super scatterbrained and doesn't always follow her class schedule she herself made. The class was too easy for some, and I'm not a digital artist by any means but the class was still a pushover. She is really nice, but grades too easily and her critiques are too nice
For draw101 specifically, she's not very tech savvy and will only respond to texts - not emails, but clearly was very passionate about what she does. SO MUCH EXTRA CREDIT, as long as you turn in your work, you'll probably get an A. Not a lot of time to work on projects, and she spends a lot of class time getting distracted, but very nice person!
Walking into class and being asked to call your professor "Blaze" is so silly and epic. She is cooky in the most wonderful way and really cares about her students like they're her own kids. Be prepared to dedicate time to your projects as you will have a lot of work for this class, but you'll also have a lot of fun.
Professor Baronian is very passionate about her work. Because of this passion, she often gets off track about something related to the lecture. She is very understanding and willing to tweak assignments if you struggle heavily. She responds quickly through email and is very caring of her students.
Prof. Blaze is a quirky and passionate instructor who really cares about her students. While the class involves a lot of work, it's also a lot of fun. unstuckstudy was super helpful for study prep.
As a non-illustrator/animator/vfx, this is an unnecessary weight over my shoulders. Get ready to put your time management skills to the test. She introduces new projects every class during the process of many other million ones that are not even completed yet. She's nice and understanding, but the workload is all over the place. Not my dynamic type
Prof. Blaze is the kindest and most hardworking woman I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Her class is difficult with a lot of work, but you will learn so much more than you thought to be possible. So understanding, and so hilarious. I would take her class HUNDREDS of times!
Professor Blaze is very knowledgeable and kind, she has a very quirky personality and is very interesting to listen to. Group critiques are insightful, and she takes her time to give individual feedback which is helpful. She is not the best at posting to Blackboard, which can make assignment expectations confusing. Homework load can be overwhelming
She assigned an insane amount of homework that felt so unnecessary. im a 3D animation major and was so overwhelmed with my animations and her millions of assignments. All of the homework felt like busy work. I genuinely don't understand who would want to grade that much stuff. I really don't even think she actually looks at the homework turned in.
Prof Blaze is... alright. She gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit but her Blackboard setup is very hard to navigate and the criteria for assignments feels super disorganized. When I'm trying to find out what she needs from each assignment or discussion post I find it very vague and hard to understand without speaking to her directly.
Soooo much homework, I'm a Graphic Designer so just took it as an elective, had more tedious homework here than my higher lvl GRDS classes. Grading is fair, you don't have to be Van Gogh, I don't really draw so this helped my anxiety. Biggest issue is her Blackboard. It's incredibly disorganized, and impossible to find due dates and discussions.
Prof is very disorganized and there are so many typos and randomly capitalized letters (liKe THis) which makes her instructions difficult to understand. She does not use the syllabus at all, so there is no guideline to fall back on. And when I messaged for clarification she never responded. All the due dates in blackboard were incorrect.
She makes you do a ton of discussion posts but doesn't grade them in the discussion. You have to take screenshots of everything you did and combine it all in a PDF so it's easier for her. 4 big projects, 2 sketchbook presentations with about 20 drawings each, and 20 class discussion posts with long peer replies (so at least 80 posts).
The worst professor I've ever had. Y'all I am not lying. Plays favorites, very egotistic, and does not need to be a professor by any means. I don't understand the 5 stars reviews, and think she's writing them, as they are all formatted the same way, saying the same things, claiming the class is a bunch of fun, when everyone looks uncomfortable.
I loved Prof Blaze! She clearly really cares about her students and is a very fair grader, even if you're a beginner. I had like, an 120% in the class because of all the extra credit! My only complaint is the lack of ample studio time and the moving around of still lives. Also she often gives the same lecture multiple times. Love her though!
