Beth is the best math teacher I have ever had. She makes sure you understand what's going on and is a great teacher. I highly reccommend.
Wonderful math teacher! Understands students, and breaks problems into steps that you can understand...She's right up there with Professor Lotz-Todd and Professor Rottinghaus.
Good teacher but I got a better grade in my 110 class than hers.
Class is very hard and fast paced. The time limit on quizes and exams caused me to not do well at all. Class could be much easier.
Couldn't ask for a worse teacher. Here is an idea, maybe the stuff you teach should be on the tests, just an idea. I hated the class and she picked favorites and talks about her stupid family all the time, WHO CARES! Leave the drama at home.
COMPLETE BIT*$%!!! DO NOT TAKE HER for this class or you will get an F! I had an immediate family member die near finals and NO slack what so ever. She later said she wouldn't get any special treatment for a death in her family!!! Be careful if you get the correct answer but didn't show all the work, she counts the complete answer wrong!!!
She is unrealistic in her expectations. She makes a personal mission out of personal issues with her kids. People have trouble with this class that have taken trig and calc. UNREAL!
This is not a good instructor to take. You want to take another teacher. Do yourself a favor and ask around before signing up with her.
Rottin math teacher. I think she used to be a good teacher, but something happened to her. I was really disappointed because she was highly recommended. :(
Worst Teacher I have ever had!! Horrible expectations and her tests are not even related to the material she teaches. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS unless you want to fail!!!
This class was my worst educational experience in my entire life. She grades too hard and unfairly. She is unfeeling and has ridiculous expectations. She tells you one thing and does another. How does she keep her job? Has anybody gone to the Math "Chair" about her? I was told over half of the class dropped. I wonder how many students passed?
When you have to constantly correct the teacher for stupid mistakes, that is redic.
I thought she was a very clear teacher. if you PRACTICE and study you'll do fine on the tests. I usually hate math but I actualy enjoyed this class. She is a sweet and fun lady. Plus, you never have to do any homework if you do not choose to.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE TEACHER!! How is she still teaching? What a Witch minus the w...SHe is hateful, bitter, nasty and doesn't give a damn about anything or anyone but herself and her stupid family that she talks about all the time!!! Her tests are tough and almost everybody drops her class or FAILS it!!! Be Careful if you take her!
I dropped this class after the first day!! i knew right off the bat she was horrible. She decided to make us the guinea pigs for her writing intensity class So we were going to Do "writing intensity" but get NO Credit for it being A WI class!! wtf..luckily i was able to use that to drop for full credit..she sucks
I really liked her as a teacher. Yes, she is hard, but she also explained things very well.
She does talk alot about her family. I thought she was a good instructor who explains things really well. I did however drop her class because I was not passing, her test are hard. I do not agree with what other students have posted about her being a @$#@% She does except students to be in class, so if you are one to not show up, don't bother.
Do NOT take this class. It is very hard. The math tutors in the lab didn't know how to do the work. She expects you to know the work and will not help at all.
This teacher's tests are insane the tests are over problems that aren't even in the book and I got D's and ended up dropping the class
This lady is horrible. she loves to have control at her students great expense. I will say that she knows math well and explains it well. However, her tests are impossible, and she will not help her students. Also, she is unbelievably rude and disrespectful to her students. And btw the dropout rate for her class is like 75%.
Explains things well, but get it the first time because her office time is limited. Won't help you right after class. Tests are hard, but she grades them fair. I was very easily distracted by her odd habits. She says, "Mmmkay" and "Does that make sense?" all the time....over and over. I would count them instead of learning.
she was not helpful at all... her test are in possible and she doesnt review well or let you know what to study before the test. she doesnt have you turn in your homework.. i hate this teacher..she talks about her family alot too
She was actually a really good math teacher! As long as you pay attention and do the work she assigns you, you should walk out of the room with an A. I'd recommend her
I could not have passed this class without her. She is extremely skilled at teaching math. Stay caught up and ask questions.
She is very hard and her test are insanly hard.
I absolutely love her! I think that she is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. She explains things in plain terms, and step by step, so you really know what you are doing. You have to do the homework to do well, but I didn't find the tests to be overly difficult. She has high expectations, but if you're dedicated you should do well.
She is an incredible teacher and explains things so well. Her tests are tuff but as long as you do the homework you will catch on fast.
Henkle is the last person you want to take Calculus II from if you are a conceptual learner. I'm not saying she's bad, just that she can't switch her learning style. I can't either. If you learn by steps, then kill to enroll in her class. : )
As a 34 year old going back to school, I have never met anyone so hateful and rude in my professional and academic career. Ms. Henkle is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. Grades men harder than women and gets offended when asked a question. She does explain things fairly well but attitude is terrible. Like I said, very unprofessional.
She is a great teacher! Explains step by step and answers questions. You have to do the homework and study for the final to do well, but that is any math class. She is fair, nice, and demands respect. She keeps order in the class room. Very organized and helpful. Wants you to do well.
Mrs. Henkle explains her class well but she is truely mean. If you're late prepare for her to lecture the entire class about how it takes up time. This is my second time with her first for math 120 now for stats, shes the only one who teaches it. i passed but DO YOUR WORK AND SHOW UP! if you want to pass. good luck and just grin and bare it...
Mrs Henkle is everything but what users have rated her. She teaches exactly what's on her quizzes and exams. Plus, she teaches better concepts than textbook formulas.
Mrs Henkle is a great teacher. Textbook is only used for homework. I had her for Math 120 as well. DO YOUR HOMEWORK OR YOU WILL FAIL THE QUIZZES!!! Attendance is mandatory to pass, and BE ON TIME! She is really strict about that. Extremely organized, presents the material well, offers outside of class help if needed.
Hands down the best math teacher I've ever had! She gives you all the tools you need to succeed if YOU choose to accept them. You have to go to class but it is for your benefit. She explains everything very clearly and is great about not assigning unnecessary problems. Wants to see you succeed and happy to help outside of class. Highly recommended.
She is a great math professor. Do the homework, show up to class ON TIME and you will be fine. She is very willing to go back over a topic if you don't understand it. She wants everyone to do well.
Mrs Henkle was a great teacher because she actually wants her students to succeed. Shes flexible with exam dates and easy to like. Gives out a lot of homework, but always covers any questions students have. I'd recommend her.
She knows what she is teaching, and shows a couple ways for the students to pick their favorite way to do something. She will help you if you ask. She whines about her board not erasing for a good 10 minutes each class, which is annoying after the first week. Sometimes in a good mood, sometimes in a bad mood.
I really enjoyed this class. I am NOT a math person at all and this woman made me understand stats. I was kind of excited to go into class because I knew I'd be walking out understanding the lesson. Her tests aren't the easiest, but why do you expect them to be? It's college. I highly recommended her.
Great teacher. She is very organized and explains things well. She is willing to help if you ask. She is very understanding and reasonable. Make you know the prerequisite class well. She will not reteach you info that you should have already learned
I think she was a great teacher. She is a little scatter-brained, but explained Stats sooooooo well!
Beth explains statistics as well as one could hope for. She doesn't try to cover too much each night like some instructors. One bit of advice: DON'T BE LATE TO CLASS! She will embarrass you and lecture you in front of everyone for it.
Henkle was an awesome teacher! paints everything black and white for you, and cuts out a lot of bs. I failed this class in hs and it was so much easier and clearer to me because of her. Take her, she is the best.
She sometimes would forget to finish her notes. She would give the class several different ways to do a problem, but during the test if you don't use the one she wants she will count the whole problem wrong even though she did not specify which method to use. If you asked why you missed a problem she says you should already know.she is horrible!
If you want to learn and actually understand then I'd highly recommend her. God forbid you're 5 minutes late to class so prepare your time VERY WELL.
Very good teacher. excellent at answering questions and explaining everything. fair and helpful. I would take her again in a heartbeat. if you want to actually learn, she is for you. her personality was fine in my opinion, i have no complaints, she was great all semester, not rude to anyone.
Henkle is my all time favorite professor. She is tough, but I really learned the material and was well prepared for the next course. She gave me the confidence I needed to continue my education.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. She makes everything clear and cuts out all the extra stuff. I've never had an issue with her, and shes hilarious. She makes everything a real life example for us.
She is a very laid back and flexible teacher. She explains mathematical concepts very well and I recommend her.
Her other classes may be fine but she seems to have this bar of perfection set for Math 190. She preaches about how engineers use integrals all day, obviously knows nothing of the profession. Her tests are harder than the homework questions which is a pain in the ass. She responds to people with lower than A grades with "should have done your HW."
I took Henkle for Statistics last semester. She explained everything clearly and made a great effort to be sure you understood the material. Do the homework, go to the math lab when you need help, show up to every class and you should be fine. When buying your book, make sure it has that plastic sheet in it. I would take this professor again!
This was one of the worst instructors I ever had. I'm starting to think that maybe her teaching style and my learning style don't coincide. She seems very scatter brained and doesn't speak in complete thoughts. I had to correct her once about the way to solve a math problem, which led me to believe she didn't know what she was doing.
She is a no nonsense professor that is fair. She does tell farm stories to add in the learning process. I'm grateful.
She makes instant judgements it seems as soon as you walk in the door, if she likes you or not. If you're a guy, you are instantly at a disadvantage. I had to drop the class because when I did ask for help, she did not help me. I then took the same class at Blue River and got a B. She was my least favorite teacher I have ever had.
Ms. Henkle is very tough!!! but such a great teacher! I took calculus in high school and barely passed so i was scared to take it again but she is very clear and organized. She explains things so well and her tests are hard but if you do the homework that will help a lot. Best math teacher I have ever had!
She's rude, not very helpful, has a bad attitude, and expects you to understand everything on the first try. Don't bother asking for help either, she'll tell you to refer to your homework and refuse to help you if she's no longer teaching that section.
Really helpful if you ask questions after class. She will give you all the time you need. Class may be hard to understand, but if you ask her outside of class she'll explain it thoroughly. Just don't get late to class. It angers her. Overall, pretty good teacher.
One of my favorite instructors. I really liked the presentation of the material. The class was tough simply because it was Calculus II, not because she made it that way. She has a strong emphasis on homework. Quiz questions are based on the assigned homework--easy grade. She is also pretty good at giving partial credit on test and exams.
Possibly the worst, most inconsiderate teacher I've ever had
Her notes are golden. If you want to pass with a good grade take an other instructor!
Great person, but she will tell you like it is: "If you don't do well on the first two tests, you might as well drop." Her lectures are helpful, but she assigns tons of homework every class period with a few chosen for her quizzes. She is strict, but you can assure that the material will be well-provided for you, so you'd best get every bit of it.
She's the best math teacher I've had. Yes, she won't take class time to teach much of what should already be known as a prerequisite for her class, but she is happy to help after class. Her notes are the best notes to follow, they make sense if you copy exactly what she does. Would take again.
I took her, immediately regretted it, she isn't helpful and won't explain a problem twice. She teaches it one way and one way only when there's many other ways of doing it. She tells you to refer to your notes if you have a question and won't answer it, she just refuses. The first thing she said in her class was that half of us were going to fail.
I actually took Math 110 with this instructor through the ALEKS program. She is wonderful, caring, and easy to approach with questions. She appreciates hard work, and understands that math is not everyone's cup of tea. I wish I could take her for all of my math classes. She is an amazing woman and wonderful teacher.
Miss Bletscher is by far the best teacher I have ever had. Her lectures are enjoyable, you know what is required for tests, and she rewards hard work. Some people say she's super difficult, but she teaches calculus guys, it shouldn't be a walk in the park. You should have to work hard in calculus if you want to pass.
Taking this class in summer (via ALEKS) was a great experience! Prof. Bletscher was extremely patient and would explain in detail whatever was unclear, and the self-placed ALEKS program was a fantastic option because you could go at your own pace! Would definitely recommend, and I'm not someone with a strong Math background either! A real gem!
She expected you to really know the material and the tests were graded very strictly, but with that said she always gave you everything you needed in order to get an A. Lectures and notes were very helpful. you have to be ready to work hard and put in lot of time. Despite being the one of the toughest, she is also one of my favorite professors.
She's not nice. She May treat you like you're stupid. She doesn't like to help, and dont even think about looking at your phone.
Prof. Bletscher is a tough grader, but calculus is not an easy A subject. If you want to learn calculus then you should take her class. She expects you to know the prerequisites and would not spend the class time to discuss them. However, she is ready to help after class. She assigns a lot of homework. Just do your homework, and you will be fine.
Bletcher is takes time for the students to understand the content. She will do tiny short reminders as you move through lessons, but she will not spend days reteaching you precalc or algebra concepts. She does try to add in jokes or videos to take some stress off. DO YOUR HOMEWORK. If you have an SI leader, go to the sessions. They're great!
Terrible teacher, she is very disrespectful, she never helps when you need it, if you are a guy she will completely ignore you unless you do something wrong. I asked multiple times for help and she said and I quote"If you don't understand this simple equation then you must be stupid". I would not recommend her to anyone ever.....
I took this class online in class it's fairly simple if you keep up with the work it's all on you if you fall behind you will regret it I was nearly 6 weeks behind 2 weeks from semester ending and got a B at the last moment
She is a very tough grader and expects us to be experts in our previous algebra and trig classes. She often said things like "Most high school classes don't teach this right, but I don't have time to go ever it with you" Not very helpful and made me feel stupid even though I was doing the homework and paying attention in class.
I dont recommend this teacher for calculus , unless you know and remember algebra and trigonometry 200% . No blackboard use. The teacher does not follow the book and the book has lots of wrong answers. The teacher notes are messy, be prepared to get lost a lot! No cards with formulas allowed for exams. No enough explanation or examples given.
Nice teacher, though midway through the semester she has started to not send out any emails about not being there to class. This causing many students to waste their time driving up there only to see the teacher not show up.
Professor Bletscher is a great teacher! However, you must do all your homework to pass quizzes and you must study and prepare for tests. She is a tough grader but she does give partial credit. She explains Calculus concepts very well and takes questions. She will help you outside of class if you need it. I recommend her but you have to work hard!!!
Ms. Beth does great at making calculus understandable. she has been teaching for years. Her lectures on the material are very organized and easy to follow. Gives quite a bit of homework but answers any troubled problems the next day. Her tests are graded heavily as she is a stickler for notation. Make sure you are proficient in Algebra and Trig.
Avoid at all costs! This instructor teaches an online class but knows nothing about computers or how to actually teach in a virtual setting. Math is already difficult, she only makes it worse with her ineptitude.
Disrespectful and it's my way or the highway with her. She doesn't help students when they have questions as often as she should. If you mess up one problem when showing steps, you are graded a 0??? Has no idea how anything technology works. Threatened to have us kicked out for wanting to make a discord.
I took this class completely online, asynchronous. She is not nice. I emailed her when I had a problem taking a proctored test, I was out of state doing this class through MCC back home, while I attended university else where to save money. She told me it was my fault that I took a class from so far away and that I should have known. No help at all
Prof Bletscher is definitely organized, but she organized all reasoning out of Calc by dividing it into sets of rules to memorize. She made students do every homework problem by giving "homework quizzes," where you write down your homework answers in class. It took away student responsibility for learning. I did NOT need to do that much practice.
She is very strict and depending on what she has going on in her life, can be very rude at times. Would only recommend taking this class to get a good understanding of calculus and retake it if needed with someone who is a little less strict. She gives out study guides for tests so the tests are harder and so is her grading.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! I've experienced hair loss due to the heavy amount of stress from this class. Harsh grader, late feedback or none at all in regards to her inboxes, and an overwhelming amount of work. I took an 8 week. Worst decision I've ever made. Constant crying with 10+ assignments, discussion boards, and chapter quizzes each week.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH THIS TEACHER!!!! Talks way too much about her life when our time in class is super important for the amount of work she hands out. DOES NOT GIVE PARTIAL CREDIT. Also extremely harsh grader. You will be extremely stressed in this class. All notation for steps must be perfect. It's her way or a zero on
I took her class in 2018. While I did learn a lot from her, her grading is too harsh. Can't even make a mistake without being penalized to a point where you lose most of your grade points on one page. I can see me passing the class if I didn't have a job at the time. Retook the class with a different professor and got an A. I wouldn't recommend.
If your notation is incorrect, you will fail. Does not give quizzes back in time to know you're notating incorrectly on EVERY test.. Will do easy examples in class but NOT the hard ones. Does infinte limits in a self admittadly incorrect way that's not "mathmatically recognized" and made two different tutors balk. Skips whole parts of the notes.
I loveddddd Ms Beth, I would take her for every math class I have for the rest of my college career. Gonna miss her :(
