Great teacher who keeps things interesting and makes the effort to make class fun. She knows her subjects very well and has no trouble relating them to the students. Plus she like Monty Python & brings candy on the holidays - What's not to love?

He makes all the material easy to understand, and cracks a few jokes now and then to keep people awake. His tests are easy and the class was enjoyable.

Mark's a cool guy. Don't have to really attend all lectures. Sometimes gave POP quizzes, just to make sure people got to class on time. Loves Seinfeld and speaking of the show in class. Material is easy to understand. Easy class, but you have to study (not too hard) for your grade. Fair grader.

Potentially, this class could have been a drag because learning middle English is somewhat off-putting to me. But Professor Haddrell is very funny, very nice, and made Chaucer fun. This class ended up being one of my favs.

He is really one of the best...one of the few who doesn't let academia go to his head. He keeps the class relaxed, & fun, has a great sense of humor, is very attractive, and he is just a sweetheart! Every time I have a low-quality prof. in grad school, it makes me appreciate professors like this one that much more! =) Try to take him if you can.

Great and funny guy, but tends to ramble and drift off to other things like "Seinfeld" episodes, upcoming movies, and celebrity gossip. Tests were easy and he was entertaining.

She is such a good teacher. Class consists of silly excersizes and we just talk. Its a lot of fun and she is the easiest A possible. sa long as you hand everything in by the end of the semester you are safe. she is an awesome teacherr

fun teacher. makes the class fun, sometimes goes off topic and talks about randoms things such as American Idol and what not. Her class is extremely easy, just read the books. the tests are open book and the papers are easy. you also have the choice to revise ur essay as many times as you want.

She is SO funny and interesting! I never wanted to miss a class! The readings are pretty good and she makes it fun. No tests, only 2 papers, and the midterm and final, which are open book and open notes. She even lets you write a fanfic instead of a paper if you want! She's awesome.

There is no greater compliment than a student taking your class again when they dont have to. i took Haddrell twice because of her vivacious personality and the material she teaches. i LOVE how everything can be tied in with Harry Potter =] long live the "parking lot" slackers in the back of the room

I have taken professor Haddrell twice before and one would think that after that there could be no more amazement, but i really enjoyed her class. She is in her own right "a chilli pepper". Let the cries of "parking-lot" slanckers be heard!!

Beth is one of, if not the, best professors I've had at Hunter She makes class fun and is understanding She's super smart and always has some background info on things Her assignments are fun yet challenging I definitely plan on taking another class with her, you learn and have fun at the same time... pretty sweet.

She is HILARIOUS! I actually looked forward to going to class every day because she is so funny and nice.

After taking Shakespeare with her, I knew I needed to take another class with Beth! Always funny and inventive with her answers and willing to help as needed. Her tests are a breeze but you still wind up learning. Be prepared to read though because she DOES assign ~8 books a class. Totally worth it though :D

She is a fun professor but a harsh grader. She gives open book tests and 2 papers. She grades the same paper twice which is ridiculous because sometimes she lowers the grade after the second grading.

Fun Teach!

2 essays one midterm and final. Both open book tests. She is funny and keeps the class interesting. She let's you re-write essays. Its almost impossible not to get an A in the class

She assigns a midterm and final with very specific questions so u have to pay close attention to lecture. 2 papers which she lets u re-write but she's a very tough grader. Professor Haddrell is not only an excellent professor, she's a wonderful person. She makes Shakespeare interesting and her enthusiasm for the subject is infectious. She is very helpful with papers, offering multiple revisions, and the main homework is reading the plays. She's such a wonderful professor that she makes Hunter a better school.

Professor Haddrell is in all honesty one of the best professors I have eve taken in my entire life. She is completely laid back and very fun. She does value participation over attendance but that's not a signal not to come because she will be the highlight of your scheduled classes believe me. Take her class!

Beth gives a midterm, two papers, and a final. Occasionally she gives a few in-class writing assignments, and pop quizzes. She also makes students do a presentation on the 1st paper. She's easy to talk to, and can be hilarious. Unfortunately the way she grades isn't always clear.

Professor Haddrell is an awesome Professor. There is a lot of reading ... A LOT & be ready for two papers that are a minimum of 8 pages each. ON THE POSITIVE SIDE - she is fair and lets you re-do your papers. There is a mutual respect between herself and students, although I could have gone without some obnoxious students, OVERALL understanding.

She is an extremely amazing, individualistic professor, not pretentious-- not to mention that she is kind. Her exams are open book, and assigns two papers. Her lectures are humorous and enlightening. Professor Haddrell is both respectful and well respected, which says it all. I highly recommend her.

Funniest Professor to date. I really don't understand the poor reviews; open book exams are too hard? Wants work to be cited? Blasphemy! It boils down to open book midterm and final, and two 6-8pg papers. Seriously, just make sure you show up, do the readings and are familiar with the text, if you fumble with the papers she lets you revise them

Beth is so hilarious! One of the best English teachers ever! Despite her humor, she gives really great feedback. She encourages participation. A real gem! One of my highlights of my first semester of college. I've never gone a day without laughing in her class. Downside is she's a tough grader, but her class is doable.

I am not one to participate much. I was in class everyday, handed everything on time, and received B+. Probably because I never raised my hand. Homework is not graded with a letter grade. It was clear what we needed in our portfolio since the first day of class. She offers a lot of feedback and is willing to help you outside of class if needed.

One of my favorite teachers! She makes things relatable and talks about current events that keep you interested in what literature you're discussing.

TBH wasn't interested in folklore at all, this class was a last minute choice, however Beth & her incredible passion really increased my interest! She's a fantastic professor, so funny and kind, and really wants to better her students. Absolutely take her class if you get a chance, she's a gem! Professor Haddrell is quite lenient. Her papers are graded leniently. She is a kind and funny professor. Her homework is light. Participate and do the work. An A- to A is highly achievable.

Her class is a light. Make sure you show up attendance is mandatory but you get three unexcused absences. She's really chill and if you do the work you won't get below an A-. Hw is on the lesser side but you do get some readings to do.

The best online professor ever. She makes the class very engaging and entertaining. Very hilarious, and caring. She understand that we have a tot of other hw. Very flexible with due dates as long as you ask for extension. She is the type of professor I would retake without any hesitation.
