She's really funny, but its hard to get used to her. I had no clue what to expect for the first exam! Holds your interest though, very funny!!!
great teacher, definitely keeps your attention in lecture; when she tells you to read the chapter she means it, there will be stuff from the book on the exams; i loved her, great class
I did really badly on the first test because I had no idea what to expect. I did better on the second one because in the essays, I covered everything possible. She's really nice, but her MC questions aren't very clear and are difficult for me to comprehend and therefore answer.
Lectures are powerpoint and she has them online, but i recommend going to class because she is very fun and entertaining. Her multiple choice quesions are difficult to figure out. She's a fair grader though, because she throws out questions if most people miss them. I recommend her overall.
great teacher, great for honors intro, made it very interesting, fun class, tests are hard, but shes one of the best professors i have had
Great professor. material gets a little redundant but shes extremely helpful! Go to class you get more out of it. WONDERFUL PROFESSOR!!!!!!! Take this class it makes you really think about yourself in a different life and it makes u look at other cultures and how they react to things
I honestly didn't know what to expect for the first exam. Writing the papers was confusing. She's a nice person, teaches well. Sometimes lets her political biases show through. Overall a good teacher. (I put this up here because she said that this site only presents the extreme views of professors.)
Great teacher. Sometimes exam questions are difficult- read the book! Also, be insanely thorough on essays. Come to class, and pay attention, and you'll do well. She's a really nice woman, and a great teacher. Just pay attention to every detail, and you'll get along famously.
ok, first of all research methods is a horrible class to take with any teacher. she can be annoying at times and anal. Tries to be nice and a "cool" teacher but her pickiness gets in the way of it. Read the book and PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL. not the best class
BOO! research methods is worst class of psych classes.
This class is hard and it sucks. If possible, run far far away! If you have to take it though, take it with Morling. She's a really good teacher and makes it as interesting as it can be. It's not her fault that it blows.
if u r in the new minor u get screwed with having to take this class, prob. hardest psych class ever taken, she is hot tho, group projects that nobody wants to do,big research proposal at end of yr-really sucks, memorize quizz's online for multiple choice part of exams,essays...good luck...overall sh*t class
horrible, boring class! she talks down to the students, barely teaches anything that is on the exams. goes over maybe one item per class period, and picks insanely easy examples to discuss in class, so it's not helpful at all. she's way too picky for this kind of class. this class was a total waste of time and very frustrating.
The most annoying class if you are actually interested in psychology because it doesn't have much to do with it. She's very fake..acts sweet but you can tell she's a heinous ****. Group assignments are pointless and irritating. If can find an better 207 prof, I'd recommend you go with them.
group projects were horrible. class could of definitely been more productive than they were. if your not sure if you want to be a psych major, decide before you have to take this class (or else you will be pissed you took it for nothing)
Going to class is a huge WASTE of time- she teaches like it's elementary school but then tests like it's graduate school. Most of class time is spent sitting around in groups discussing ridiculously easy examples, but you have to go because you have to hand in busywork every day.
This class sucked, huge waste of time really. If it wasn't for all the in class assignments I would have gotten alot more extra sleep this semester. The class sucks, but Morling rocks, she trys really hard and i'll give her props for that
this class sucks but u have to take it, i would suggest taking it with another prof if u can bc she only gives multiple choice tests with one short answer and give really easy class examples, and pray you get a good group!
She really tries to make the class interesting, but it's boring, especially when it's a 9 o'clock class. The quizzes on-line are a pain, but if you don't read the book, then the quizzes are really good to study from. She uses some of the question from the quizzes in the exams. And make sure you know the "things to know" for each chapter too.
Really easy class. Not a lot of work. Material isn't rocket science. Great professor.
Boring class, even for those with future researchaspirations. Very annoying format with utilizing online quizzes and mind numbing group work. The primary group project is a pain to organize and put together, but the work itself isn't too hard. Morling does her best to make things interesting, but her style seems suited to Blues Clues than college
This class was so damn boring...OMG... You really don't need to go to the class to pass, all you really need to do is read the material and take the quizzes. The group work was stupid and pointless. Alot of the group work could have been individual work. Morling taught to us like we were stupid or like we were 5 which was really annoying.
stupid group work and then when you go to her she seems understanding but screws you over, class was very boring, unprofessional drops the f word and thinks it's so funny, online quizzes don't even help your grade, basically goes on what she thinks you deserve, don't take her unless you have to which is most likely as a psyc major
For a 9am class, this will make you wish you never got up in the morning. The material is boring and her T.A's make you feel like an idiot. The group project is the real killer, though. Writing a research report with 5 people does not work out very well. Just read the materials, and you won't miss a whole lot by not going to this class.
Whatever you do, do not take her for honors intro psychology. Of course, she is an intelligent professor, excuse me doctor, but she always has to be right and is often condescending towards her students. On top of that, she will first give you bad grades on two essays and then tell you the way that she wants the rest written.
The class is boring and there's nothing that can be done about it. She tries to keep it interesting though so it's not horrible. The tests are a bit tricky but managable if you study well.
Definitely take her for Cultural Psychology! She is very excited and knowledgable about the subject matter bc it is her area of research interest. I learned a ton of fascinating stuff in this class, and it was pretty easy, especially for a second writing class. 4 papers and 2 essay tests. She gives poss. test Q's in advance.
I was honestly scared to take this class w/ morling bc of some of the comments on this page, but i really liked it. It's definately challenging & requires that u put a lot of work into it, but bc its mandatory for a psych degree, theres no getting out of it. If u do all the required work & go to class youll be fine - & shes very nice & helpful..
The topic is not always exciting, but she does a really good job making it interesting. Shes a great professor and gives you many different opportunities and ways to learn the material, which is not difficult. Do the work assigned, and you'll be fine. She is very fair and helpful, I would definitely take her again.
tough class, but she's ALWAYS willing to help you out. visit her during office hours! she'll help you work on your research proposal project or give you practice questions to prepare for an exam and then go over it with you. very dedicated professor but not an easy class.
I took Social Self with her and I LOVED this class!! Probably one of my fave I have taken at UD. Plus, Morling is SUCH a sweetheart and a great professor. She really knows her stuff and knows how to make class interesting. Very approachable!! Highly recommended, specifically this class!! TAKE IT for your 400 level class if your Psyc major!
Very clear about what she expected for each exam. She posted practice problems on-line, and some of the multiple choice came straight from the on-line quizzes due for every chapter. On-line quizzes were easy, you get chances to take them. Very helpful at office hours.
Social Self was amazing! There was alot of reading but most of the articles short but very interesting. She really engages the class on the material and assignments were surprisingly fun to write! I highly recommend this class.
her class constantly challenges you to think and support your opinions; the topic of the course was very interesting and i looked forward to attending class; LOTS of reading and tests are hard; be prepared to really work hard for a good grade
It was a hard class, but she's a really nice person. She didn't really teach too much--we mostly just had group projects. But she's really into helping, so go to office hours, etc. and you'll do fine.
so nice and helpful...class was really interesting and she made everything fun. take her if you can, shes great!!
I think her method of having us learn everything through hands-on experience makes sense. Still, don't forget to read the book carefully and take notes from it. I assumed I'd do well on the tests just from being involved in group work, but there were a lot of questions you won't know if you didn't study the book, and she takes off points liberally.
Reading assignments before every class are mandatory, but are typically pretty interesting and easy to get through. Dr. Morling is a great professor and is always willing to help any way she can. Definitely take this class if you need a 400 level psycholgy course.
I really enjoyed this class. There was a lot of reading to keep up with but it was very interesting. 3 papers, 5 blogs (500 words or less), and an option to take the midterm or final.
On the surface she seems extremely nice and helpful, and she usually is. She wants to help students understand but some just have a hard time with the material. She does seem to have a mean side but it doesn't come out very often. In this class you are either good at it or not, and if you are its an easy A. Otherwise it can be a struggle.
I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone, solely just because of Morling. The context of the class is interesting, and I've learned a lot from it, but she doesn't seem to care if her students do well or not. The midterm average was a 69 (not curved), and she managed to tell the class it was our fault. I wouldn't take this class again.
Dr. Morling is a great teacher. The class is challenging and requires reading a lot of studies (mostly by Dweck- she LOVES her) and there is a lot of in-class discussion and group work. There are two papers on class conducted experiments. She is nice, funny, and approachable. Sadly she is going on sabbatical...take this class honors in Spring 2012!
Prof. Morling plays favorites like it's her job. Get on her good side or she'll hate you forever and grade accordingly. She lacks any sort of organization during her lectures and it's unbelievably easy to get lost even though she expects you to know everything for her ridiculously hard final. Take Dasch if you can!
Ths is an interesting subject and you learn a lot about cultural differences and how they shapes psychological processes. However, BEWARE - papers are easy but exams are difficult and graded unfairly! Hard to get a decent grade because of exams. Morling is questionable in her grading...
Dr. Morling is my favorite Psych professor at UD. Yes, she makes you work for your grades- but this truly helps you grow as a student, budding psychologist, and as a person. The amount that you learn is invaluable to a career in psychology. Most importantly, she is always available to listen and give advice. Wouldn't be in grad school without her:)
Cultural Psyc. Beth is a very nice lady and extremely helpful in a lot of ways. I truly did enjoy the class and the assignments. I never missed class and did all the readings. HOWEVER, She's crazy unfair when it comes to grades. She grades outrageously unfairly on her essay-style subjective tests. Do not care her, she plays favorites & unfair
This class requires that you really keep up with the reading. She uses a book she wrote herself and it isn't of good quality. Her lectures are unorganized and it is very difficult to take notes from her power points. If you have to take this class with her, make sure you get on her good side and she'll be a lot easier on you.
She is very nice and approachable, very easy to talk to. She makes herself available during office hours. I think she makes the class interesting and easy to sit through. Tests aren't horribly difficult and she gives you a lot of practice for the test in class. Good class overall.
Great class! Do not take this class if you are not willing to put the time and effort in!! Favorite psychology class at ud, even though there is way too much reading.. the amount of knowledge you will obtain makes it all worth it :)
Morling is a really interesting woman. She clearly loves what she does however, if she doesn't agree with your opinion she is not going to like you. Gives daily quizzes on the reading, plenty of writing assignments. Only 2 tests but make sure you READ the book and readings and go to class or expect to fail. Very unclear in assignments DONT TAKE!!
I loved her class! Its easy to get good grades if you actually do the readings and the work. The material is not hard to understand. Answer her questions in class and go to office hours, it helps. You have to be a really stupid to fail. I cant wait to take her for cultural psych next year! She clearly loves what she teaches, she's very passionate.
I enjoyed having Dr. Morling as my professor! Definitely read the textbook (she wrote it and will expect you to read it) and go to class. Papers aren't too bad if use the textbook appendix for guidance, and while exams aren't super easy they are fair and if you know your stuff and study you will get the grade you deserve. (Note: Honors section)
I am SO glad I took this class because I really learned a ton. If you really want to go far in a psychology related profession please take this class. I learned so much about psychology and research and the world around us. Pretty simple assignments easy if you are a good writer. READ the books Definitely go to class.
Morling is a nice lady and really good at what she does. Beware, this class was really tough and she made it alot more work and harder than it needed to be. Many in depth assignments and exams are nowhere near easy. Also a critical grader and expects alot from the you. She is a really nice and approachable person, but wouldnt recommend her
Forced attendance, almost daily reading quizzes on the textbook that she wrote. Makes the class so much more difficult than it needs to be. Material seems easy enough until the exams come around. Take with another prof!!
I love professor Morling so much! She's the best professor I have ever haves. She's such a bubbly person and she makes the subject so interesting! Taking her for cultural psych is the best decision I ever made! I can't wait to take her again in the future!
Dr. Morling is an amazing professor. If you read the textbook, which she wrote, you will be able to understand exactly what you need to know, and if you have any questions, she is more than willing to clarify anything for you. If you show up to class, and turn in the small homework assignment (after you actually do them), the class will be easy.
Really nice person, very approachable. A lot of reading but quizzes are easy. Exams are more difficult and require much more than simple vocab knowledge. Must keep up with readings. Quizzes and homeworks are easy grades. Ask questions, she's always willing to help in a way that everyone understands. Requires a lot of work but it's definitely doable
She wrote the textbook you use in class and even though you have to read the whole textbook in order to learn, class supplements in & so does the homework. If you read and do the homework you will pass with flying colors. She's always willing to answer questions and is very upbeatpassionate about what she's teaching which helps keep you interested
She clearly loves what she teaches which makes it easier to sit through class. If you don't read the book (that she wrote) you're essentially screwed. Go to class, keep up with the readings, and utilize the class website and you'll be fine.
Here are some more tags to describe this professor: respected by students, inspirational, gives good feedback, clear grading criteria, there for you, and would take again. Dr. Morling made class interesting and gave me a lot of things to consider. Essentially, she taught me another way of thinking that I know will impact how I think in the future
Doctor Morling is the best professor/teacher I have ever had. She is tough but fair. I took her research methods course and then her cultural psychology course and both were amazing!!!! READ THE REQUIRED MATERIALS!! her tests are tough but if you do all of the readings and participate in class you will be fine
Interesting class and you can tell Dr. Morling truly cares about what she's teaching. I took her for 207 and again for 394. She's a hard grader, but fair. Constant reading, but I usually skipped the textbook and only read the articles assigned. Tests are tough but as long as you come to class and participate/pay attention, you'll do well.
Morling is the best Professor at the University of Delaware hands down. She doesn't hand out As because she wants you to learn and work for it so the people complaining about her are lazy bums #MorlingforPresident
Dr. Morling is a great professor! She explains everything clearly and is good at addressing your questions. You must read the textbook that she wrote and take iClicker quizzes as well as do homework for every chapter (which is like every other class). There are a couple of other assignments and a final project but overall, the course isn't too bad!
BEST TEACHER Ever! She is super fair and the stuff you learn in her class you will use forever. Format: each week read a case study, fill out reading guide, and then discuss in class. exams are short answer and formatted exactly like the homework. Do all the reading and the homework prior to class and participate and you'll do fine and learn alot!
Dr. Morling is a great professor. This is the best class I have taken at UD. Changed my prospective on a lot of things. She is very nice, wants you to learn and grow from mistakes and is very helpful when you ask her questions in office hours and after class. A lot of reading, quizzes every class. The assignments may be different each semester.
Talks in circles, and will never give you a simple answer to a question so the material you learn is very unclear. Will only lecture based off of questions that the class has, so if you don't have a talkative class then you won't be learning anything. Other than that ask questions, keep up with the reading and you should be fine.
there's something due in class almost everyday, read the chapters before you go to class. unless you're a favorite you won't get good grades on group projects or even homework. GO TO ALL CLASSES!!!!
Dr. Morling is a really great teacher since she's so passionate about the material. That being said, she's an incredibly strict grader and is very picky about having specific wordings and graphs for her tests. She also lets you to try and argue points back with the disclaimer that she can take more points off if you turn it back - which she did.
Morling was very nice and approachable, and was very easy to contact outside of class. Her exams are multiple choice and short answer. She provides practice MC on canvas and practice short answer problems, very similar to test. There are clicker quizzes and theres some group assignment, these are fairly straight forward. I recommend this class
Professor Molring is a great professor; she's super sweet and extremely smart. This class is pretty challenging and there is a lot of work to be done but it's worth it and you can pass if you work for it! I learned so much from taking this course and if you are truly interested in psychology from a different viewpoint I would highly recommend.
Good professor- passionate about this course. But does not provide clear instructions on what she expects on writing assignments. Her feedback on such assignments aren't helpful and can be confusing. There is a lot of reading and a reading quiz every class period. Overall, the class is interesting but you have to work hard for a decent grade.
Beth is super energetic and cares about the content and her students. If you're willing to go to class, read the textbook once/twice a week, and do the homework, you'll be fine. If you took PSYC209 before this, you'll be even better. Reading quizzes are super easy, straightforward, and don't count too heavily on your grade.
going to class is vital for learning, shes super passionate and good teacher, takes time to help you if you dont understand. Don't listen to that one negative rating on here, if you take the time to read and take notes you'll be Golden. Course material kinda builds on itself throughout course so learn it as you go.
She is one of my fav professors. Morling is very funny and u can tell shes passionate about psych. Its annoying because you need to go to every class, but if u do its worth it. Exams are EXACTLY like the homeworks- make sure u do them and also correct yourself if you did it wrong
The workload for this class is unbearable -- you will need to read an overwhelming amount of texts to complete a long and convoluted reading guide for every single class. Her take-home exam takes 7h to complete. You can tell she tries very hard to push you to work. It is a waste of life folks, don't choose this class if you have another option!
Pick a different professor
I never write reviews but she was one of the worst professors I had. A very mean and cold heart-- comes off nice and friendly in class, but once you try and challenge her with relevant questions you get an attitude. Doesn't care about your effort level. Attended all classes and nearly all office hours, and got a tutor for a B-.
Don't take this class if you're not looking for a perspective shift/to put in the work! Class was challenging, but if it was easy I wouldn't have learned as much. Was flexible with our needs and very personable with everyone. Attendance didn't directly correlate to a grade, but you need to go to really get into the material.
Excessive amounts of work. You will be staring at a computer screen until your eyes fall out. She does not teach, she expects you to teach yourself and then on top of that piles on an unbearable amount of work.
She is a very very educated professor, but be ready to put the effort in there is a lot of work! she wrote the book which is very handy. do the readings and homeworks and youll pass, if you dont want to do the work you wont.
I learned a ridiculous amount of information from Professor Morling. Her lectures were very informative and helped to drill in and clarify any confusing concepts. If you want to actually learn how to digest and prepare research, take this class and put in the work. The class is a lot of work, be prepared to read and do plenty of assignments.
Dr. Morling is an okay professor, but she assigned way too many assignments during a short period of time that I couldn't keep up while taking four other classes. I ended up having to drop the class.
As much as this class did have a lot of work, I am grateful for it because it really helped to engrave the important information into my head. Dr. Morling was able to make zoom classes fun and interactive! There were not any exams for this class, just big assignments every two weeks that allowed for you to use all the knowledge you learned in class
Gave over 15 hours of work a week wouldn't explain anything. Grades like a psycho on stuff she doesn't explain and will hit you with load of double jeopardy on your work. Don't even both her class averages would range from 60-70s and doesn't curve anything terrible class and would never recommend it to anyone to make anyone go through this.
She seems very harsh at first, but she is very understandable if you need extensions. The application assignments are really really big part of your grade, they are long and hard, so make sure you go the office hours, they really help.
A lot of work. For being a lot of work I truly think Mrs. Morling is the best teacher for this class. If you listen to what she is telling you to do, and you complete all the work then the tests are very easy. The projects she lets you redo after we go over it, and the homework is self grade. Will drop in key words that are important on tests.
The content was moderately difficult but the professor was very helpful and wanted you to do well. She has many resources and the homework is basically the same thing as the tests. Attendance isn't taken but its definitely better if you go.
Soooo much work. The first week she assigns work like crazy. She's sweet and is a good professor and will teach you but assigns a lot of work. Like 4 big assignments a week at minimum. has a weird grading system with points too.
Dr. Morling is a great professor, she does assign reading as homework before every single class, but the readings were interesting and helpful. Do read what she assigns, as it will benefit you for the exams [get ready to write for exams] and class discussion. She was always very helpful, & makes her classes interesting, I'd take her again!
You learn a lot, and standards are clear, just high. You need to be willing to put in the work, and do NOT take two of her classes at the same time.
Worst Professor I ever had at University of Delaware. Not helpful at all in office hours and laughs at you if you feel overwhelmed. Please take another Professor if you can
you will be drowning in work to do and be prepared to not understand any of it. You will fail the exams the first time and maybe even the second. STAY AWAY!! she is crazy work load and when taking other courses, you will not finish all the work.
I think Dr. Morling gets a bad rap because she is very hard and pushes everyone to their limits but honestly I am so incredibly thankful that she did. She has helped me understand if I am ready for grad school and what to expect. 100% take her if you are looking for an inspirational challenge. Her lectures/readings are amazing.
Was expecting to hate this class, but in the end it wasn't too bad. If you go to class and pay attention you should be fine, but there is a lot of homework. She is very friendly and helpful and easy to find after class. She does LOVE the textbook as she is the author, but overall I did learn a lot even if some material is kind of boring.
AWFUL!!! Avoid her if you can! If not then... I would highly recommend doing the HWs because they are extremely helpful for the exams. Her grading scale makes no sense. You do get a free redo with some assignments and exams but then if you still fail, you have to submit a token. She cares more about grades and policy than her student's well-being.
i really liked prof morling's enthusiasm about the subject, it makes it easier to learn and engage with the topics. she cares about her students and wants them to do well, you just have to put in the effort to study. that being said, her exams are pretty difficult and you have to get an 80 to pass, so if you skip class you're in trouble.
I liked Dr Morling's class, however, it was very difficult in terms of material and she was a tough grader. Also, her exams were hard, since you need an 80% or higher to pass.
Her grading system wasn't fair in my opinion. She goes off of a point system and you continuously have to rely on retakes if you want to succeed in her class or study super hard as anything below an 80 isn't passing for her. I ended up with a C+ because I got a 71 on the final even though everything else I was able to receive full credit for.
I took psyc207 with Dr. Morling fall of 2022. Her class expectations are fair and using specs grading allows for students to know exactly what material is required in order to earn a specific grade. Lectures are easy to follow along with and apply to real world examples. Reading is a must but it is not extensive or challenging. highly reccomend.
She has a really weird grading system that was tricky to figure out, but worked out for me in the end. You get to choose which projects, assignments, and exams you want to take which can be a bit confusing. Get ready to spend a ridiculous amount of time on reading assignments. Class was A LOT of work but I learned soooo much! Material was so cool
Her grading system is not fair. I've never seen one like it. You could pass everything, and mess up on one exam, and your grade goes down the drain. So much reading. Only take if you have enough time to put into this class. She sometimes acts like this is the only class her students are taking.
Prof is very passionate and understanding. She truly wants you to understand the material.0
I just made an account to warn you not to take this class! She acts like it is the only class her students are taking. If it wasn't for her RA being an angel and always willing to help, this class would've been dropped. SOOO much reading, cool concepts but she seems to like annoying her students.
Super kind and sweet professor! Her grading system uses tokens you can redeem to redo assignments or get extensions as everything is pass fail. If you put in work, you will do well. She always gives opportunities to make up work you didn't pass the first time around. Definitely a work heavy class, but worth it- I felt super prepared for the final.
I hated her class, it made me feel like I can't improve my grade because I did bad on one exam. She is so much harsher on her grading than others I had to do more work in this class then I did in my STEM classes. her grading is inconsistent and grades things differently depending how she feels. I did not like this class.
Her class will make you feel like you aren't a good student. Consisted of 3 exams, a final, and lots of busy work that doesn't boost your grade. Allowed exam redos, but the grading was harsher on the redo exam. Deserved a grade in the B range, but because of her policies, I received a C. Take a different professor if you can. Not a good professor.
Horrible professor. She assigns lots of busy work, and doesn't stray away from her policies. Doesn't respect her students, and is a harsh grader. Redos were allowed, but she grades harder on redos. Take a different professor if you can because you will be stuck with a professor who doesn't help her students. 3 exams, 1 final and lots of busy work.
Amazing professor! The grading policies are a little weird but set up so you really learn the material. Everything gets one free retake which is nice. Attend classes and office hours and it's really not too difficult!
gives reading quizzes but the questions are so specific, gave a 5 page exam of all open ended questions that many of the class did not do well on. Can do retakes but exam is still hard and she's a tough grader. Acts like this is our hardest classes and thinks this class is more important content wise than every other psych discipline.
So hard to get an A. I do all the hw, essays, and do well on exams, but because of her way of grading probably will end up with a B or B+. I got a B on the 1st exam and can only get an A in the class if I get a 90 or better on both of the next exams. SO MUCH HW, but easy if you actually read/ pay attention. Can redo exams but she grades SO hard.
The exams are open response and she grades harshly with little explanation of what you did wrong. Retakes are offered for each exam, but the whole class has to retake! The grading rubric means doing homework/going to class won't improve your grade if you do bad on exams. The class concepts were interesting but it isn't worth the stress over grades.
Her grading system is unnecessarily complicated and is set up unfairly. She assigns an insane amount of busy work. She gives unclear, unhelpful, and contradictory feedback often. If it is possible to not take her class, do so.
This is a very time consuming class. Make sure you set aside about 10-12 hours a week on homework/reading assignments. You get redos for exams but you will most likely need to redo every exam. She is a very harsh grader with little feedback, even when you go to her office hours it isn't very helpful she will most likely just tell you to reread.
Ignore the bad ratings. If you can't do homework, you shouldn't be in college. 2-3 reading assignments a week, and as someone who doesn't love to read, I enjoyed them and they didn't take too long at all. Her grading scale gives flexibility based off of what grade you want. She is so interesting and makes material so fun to learn. Re-do's as well!!
I loved her! Helpful class. I've never understood how to dissect research until taking this. Her grading scale is confusing, but she is helpful and caring. Lots of reading but it's mostly interesting/applies well to class. She doesn't lecture, she only writes on the board. Class is basically a group discussion - which was different I enjoyed It
grading is confusing but worked for me. a lot of hw but it's very easy and interesting idk why ppl r complaining. two papers and 90% average on exams required to get an A. u must go to class for points if u want an A. had to redo first two exams but was easy bc i knew how to answer correctly the 2nd time. i enjoyed this class and learned a lot
3 reading homework assignments a week. Exams that you can't pass the first time. Mandatory class that counts towards your grade. Papers and projects that you also probably won't pass the first time. It's just a lot of work so if you do take the class make sure you have an easy load/ enough free time or you may get overwhelmed.
Professor Morling is knowledgeable and cares a lot about her profession, but is over the top is passive aggressive. She is not very empathetic or understanding towards her students and only cares that the work she assigns is getting done. There is a lot of work in this class so don't take this course if you have a heavy course load.
The class has a lot of work, but Prof. Morling makes it engaging. Use resources like Unstuck ai alongside the textbook to stay on top of assignments and exams. Tough grader, but you can redo tests.
Professor Morling's class is engaging and interesting. As long as you do the readings, your assignments will be easy (textbook is clear & not difficult). She is clear about what will be on the exams, reviews material people struggle with for weeks at a time, and allows retakes of every test/the final. Any effort = success. She wants you to succeed
