Dr. Smith is awesome. However, if tests and quizzes scare you, I would not advise taking this course. But, I loved her she was great, scatter brained at times, but she kept our interest.

She's a good teacher who makes an effort to help her students learn by providing stimulating examples and links to what the information means to us in our own lives, now. All the tests are multiple guess but you do have to read the text: pretty easy but not a total cinch. The single essay is very easy and she marks easy too. Take her.

Great class! She knows how to make lectures interesting, great personality! However, she reads off of power points and posts them online for you to have as well. So if you can study yourself from slides then you would be fine on tests without even attending class.

She goes fast with her notes, but she makes sure you understand what you need to know. Just go to class and take notes and you will be golden.

One of the most helpful teachers at HCC. If you need ANYTHING she will help you. The class wasn't an easy A but if you studied the material she went over in class you should make an A. The essay also counts as a test grade and it is an easy A. There were 2 opportunities to earn 20 points extra credit towards bad test scores. Show up!!!

Took her this spring and LOVED her. She is so great to her students and helpful. She wants to make sure everyone succeeds in her course. She offers extra credit for a grade booster. I printed her power points and took notes during class and passed with a high A. I highly recommend Mrs. Smith!!

Very nice, funny lady but lectures can be pretty boring at times. Tests aren't that hard as long as you study the powerpoints she puts online. She is understanding, willing to help you, and wants you to succeed. There's one easy paper and a couple extra credit opportunities. As long as you do your work and study, you should make an A.

I took professor smith online for psy 2012. She will make sure you learn the material. There is a discussion board every week 250 words, she grades the discussion board with a fine tooth comb.I did learn how to write better with her doing that. There is 3 exams worth 100 points and its times so you have to know your material. Overall great teacher

There are 4 tests and one paper in the course. The class isn't hard as long as you show up for the lectures and take notes. It's even easier if you read your book. It's required, but we've never actually used it in the class. Don't not buy it because of that though, because reading is important!

By far a great professor. She keeps her lectures lively and interesting. She seems to really care about her students and wants them to do well. The class is very straight forward it has 4 tests and a required paper. If you study then you'll pass without an issue. This is instructor responds to emails quickly,and is very approachable.

At first I thought she was a great professor. After receiving feedback on discussions I changed my mind. Inconsistent feedback on post or feedback that seems to be from another students paper. Gave an extension due to documented personal family matters but then went back on the extension.

Dr. Smith is a great teacher. If you just study the PowerPoints youll pass, if you want a good grade I would advise the book also. If you study you will be fine. Would defiantly take again.

She has lecture slides for the class online, I would recommend using them if you are a slow writer because she goes fast. The only thing I did not like was she had a higher pitched voice and it was annoying at times otherwise she is really nice. It's four tests and optional extra credit final and two papers for the grade.

I took Professor Smith online, her class was an easy A! You just have to read, and do your homework. There is a lot of homework, but easy if you study and read. 6-week course and I'm really glad that I took it. Each week there is two chapters to finish, few short essays and discussion boards. I would totally take her again.

Very fun teacher. Took her online course. Interesting and engaging discussion boards. Easy grader. The course itself was long and I had to take a lot of notes, but that was for online. All her writing assignments were fun. Quizzes are kind of BS and require a lot of notes. Midterm was taken at testing center but she allowed for corrections after.

She knows how to teach. She is aware of the different learning styles and teaches her best for each style. Power points for the visual, Very engaging for the audio, and gives remember able examples for the hands on learners. She teaches the test in class but you should read the book or at least get the conceptmaps done. If you listen you cant flunk

She's great. She wants to help you get a better grade. Psychology is not easy but she makes it fun and excited with discussions etc. she has two exams. One on campus and one online. Both very duable. She's so sweet and responds to your email within 24 hours usually. I would take her again if she offered anything else I needed.

Mrs. Smith is such an amazing teacher, she really relates with her students, she'll make jokes during her lectures, which are located on Canvas. She moves somewhat fast during her lectures but the colored slides are what you really need to know for a test, which your study guide is your notes, so write/type them clear and complete to study.

Dr. Smith was awesome to have for Honors Developmental Psychology. She assigns four tests, a long paper, a group project, and several small assignments, so make sure you're ready to work. She's extremely helpful if you have any questions. She's quite funny, so you'll never be bored. A very interesting and informative class.

The best professor I've had so far! She is very helpful and wants you to succeed! I encourage you to print out the test review sheets if they are available to you and study everything on it because it will help you out on the tests. Also, take good notes.

Tests felt difficult, but I did okay. Homework offers several attempts and no/few time limits to complete once you begin in Canvas.

Wouldn't have thought that I'd do a rate but after this amazing professor sought to see me pass her class I just could not end this semester without giving her the credit she deserves. She grades for attendance but if you can't make it she understands and also is very forgiving when it comes to late work.

Professor Smith's lectures always kept me awake. Very interactive with her lectures which keeps you interested and makes you want to participate. Get ready to write. Dr Smith is consistent and supportive. She encourages her students to establish their independence in the class, but does not hesitate to provide a guiding hand if you're not understanding something. As a Psychology major and a junior in college I've taken over 60 hours worth of college courses.I say this for background. I have referenced the material I learned in Dr. Smiths class more times than I can count. The free text's been a blessing. She is rigorous when compared to other lower division courses but, YOU'LL LEARN!!

While this class ended up not really that interesting, Dr. Smith did a great job making an online class interactive to the individual. There are some discussions but the main point that I liked was she makes sure you understand the material.

It consists of weekly discussions which if you put effort into your discussion you get credit and may even receive extra credit points. There are also weekly quizzes regarding the textbook. I absolutely adored this course. The assignments are fun! Each week you'll have a 25-question quiz (No time limit) and a short paper. Sometimes you'll have a discussion board to do, but she always puts the necessary materials right there on the assignment so it's super easy to follow along and complete. The textbook is a free online resource.

This is my second class with Doctor Smith. She is an amazing Professor who knows her subject matter very well plus she knows how to teach it. My course was online and/or in person. The tests were 100% online and they pulled heavily from the textbook. The textbook was free and available in PDF.

To the teenager who complained about having to wear a mask, grow up. Teachers CAN make up the rules when it comes to the safety of her and her students. When you get into the real world, you are going to have to follow rules even if you don't like it. Show some respect or don't go to college at all.

Absolutely fantastic. I have recommended this professor to all of my friends who are either interested in psychology, or simply need the course for a requirement. I am genuinely ashamed because I only received a B in the class due to absences and missing work, but this professor gives great feedback on work completled and is super helpful. 10/10

Amazing Professor! Her classes and actually interesting and you learn a lot, all the online quizzes and activities are really easy, there are are written assignments that are also not really difficult, literally follow the rubric in her assignments and you will never have a problem, no final exam too, easy A if you care about the class.

She was very nice and caring. There was quite a bit to read in the textbook. The discussion boards were a bit long at times but the days of when the initial post is to be done and then the replies to others are spread out which for some might be nice but others not as much. Some of the assignments were quite fun.

I absolutly loved having her as a professor as long and you were present, participated, and did all your work it was impossible to fail her class she was willing to work with students and very understanding. She was such a genuine person I would definitely take one of her classes again.

Professor Smith is an engaging and understanding instructor. The class had a good mix of textbook and interactive activities. While the grading was at times particular, overall it was a rewarding experience. I found unstuck AI to be a helpful supplement for study prep.
