Professor Rollins' Psych 101 course can be extremely easy or extremely difficult depending on how much work you are willing to put into it. Lectures reinforce what you read in the textbook, but don't really add information that will be on the test. If you take the time to read the book carefully, you will easily get an A.

GREAT CLASS AND TEACHER! Very nice and helpful. Tests are multiple choice and are very easy if you read the book and pay moderate attention in class. In class she shows a lot of interesting/helpful/funny clips that she rounds up from the internet.

I disagree about text book use- If I take notes in class, I don't even have to look at my book to get an A on her tests. The book is completely unnecessary if you go to class. She's funny and the class is interesting and easy.

She was an incredible teacher, but take my rating with a grain of salt. Objectively, however, she was the best teacher in the psyc/nsci department.

She is pretty good. The class held absolutely no interest for me, but she still managed to make it mildly interesting, and I actually did learn something. Very easy to understand, but BE PREPARED to study way before each test as there is a ton of material on each one, and the tests are the only grades that matter in this class. I made at least 75 notecards per test. The course material is very interesting, but GO TO CLASS if you want to comprehend the material -she will do random attendance checks!

At first, I anticipated not going to class at all because it is not mandatory, but I ended up going to all of them because I learned quite a bit. Do the study guides for each chapter. That and going to class were the only things I did to make an A. Also, the extra credit is simply signing up for psych 'experiments' (i.e. easy). Never read the book.

Really easy A. Just show up for class and take notes. She puts outlines and powerpoints online to use. There are 4 tests, and if you like your average on the first 4, you don't have to take the final. There's no homework or anything like that.

Its a basic lecture class. She talks about her cats and husband a lot and its funny. She also uses lots of videos for examples, which is nice. She also gives you chapter outlines, slides, and study guides which are very helpful. Attendance not mandatory but very helpful. I also suggest reading the book before the lectures.

If you're taking PSYC1000, TAKE ROLLINS! I mean, just look at every single comment! She's an incredible teacher! The class is always entertaining. Professor Rollins is dry, funny, helpful and very straight forward. Go to every class, write down everything she says, do the study guides. All of her test questions are usually applied scenarios of the concepts and not simply regurgitating vocab but she explains everything very well (with examples and videos) and will answer any questions.

Rollins' class is interesting, well-taught, and very difficult. I received an A in her class with very hard work. #1 suggestion is to fill out the study guides and memorize them back and forward. Rollins was a good laugh, but I'll agree with the comments here. The tests are extraordinarily difficult, made up of long twisted questions that are seemingly meant to confuse. Take good notes and memorize the study guides and you'll probably escape with a B or above.

While you technically can skip class, DON'T. The tests are very challenging and what is covered in class is emphasized. Only 4 out of 5 count however. Rollins is a perfectly fine lecturer, she won't make you fall in love with Psych but she won't make you hate it either.

Judging by other comments people found her tests hard. When I took her she put up study guides and chapter outlines and as long as you knew the material on what she put on blackboard for these practice questions the tests were not bad. That being said I did not miss a class.

Some people find her lectures dry but I thought they were overall pretty interesting. The class is 4 tests and a final that you can choose not to take if you're happy with your 4 test grades. If you study a good amount for the tests you should be more than fine.

Best lecture I've had yet. Although she posts slides online, you'll still need to take notes on what she says during lecture for all the information. Study guides perfectly reflect whats on the exams (from what I've found on quizlet, she doesn't change them very often) and you get to drop your lowest grade. Absolute cutie.

No need to read the textbook as long as you go to class because she goes over everything in lecture. Study guides she provides are very clear, and she provides almost all the information in class (a very small amount requires looking in the textbook, but other than specified, it's not necessary. She gives out note outlines that you can fill out during lectures, which makes studying really easy.

Wonderful teacher. The lectures are interesting and engaging, and she is super receptive if you reach out to her with any questions outside of (or during) class periods. You can tell she wants her students to do well. That said, it is not the easiest A. At least not for me. Studying is probably required if you want to do well.

She is a very fair professor, your lowest test gets dropped and she let everyone retake the first test because there were some unforeseen tech issues. People are too harsh on her here. The tests are only difficult because of the volume of content, not necessarily the difficulty. Very possible to do well if you study.

Fair professor. More tests than usual but the lowest grade is dropped which is nice, and since there's more tests its less content overall per test. Very clear over what is going to be tested on. Intro to Psych with Professor Rollins was not difficult at all. She grades you on chapter quizzes and tests only; there aren't homework assignments. Her lectures aren't riveting, but they're not completely boring. Most of the stuff in lectures is what will be on the test, so take good notes and attend every class, also skim the textbook.

rollins is sweet when you get to know her and she can be super caring. as for grades- 4 exams and a final as well as chapter quizzes MAKE SURE TO DO THOSE as they can literally make or break your grade. also just know she tends to get behind schedule and you'll have to take notes on lectures she posts on canvas. lectures are boring but silly videos

Professor Rollins is literally one of my favorite professors. very test heavy but you will do fine if you pay attention in class and study the slides. She has a quirky personality and her jokes are very funny. She will repeat things when needed.Very sweet when you get to know her and genuinely want her students to succeed. Her outfits also go hard.

Good lectures! Quirky personality. Passionate ab what she teaches & wants students to succeed. Gives outlines for each chapter for your notes. Gives study guides for exams, do them & you'll get an A. Must attend class, and is a little challenging but overall she is a great professor. She really wants you to succeed. If you go class and take notes and fill out the study gudie before tests you will be fine!

Professor Rollins is one of my favorite professors. Lectures are mostly interesting, and she is passionate about psychology. She is always happy to answer questions. Grade is only composed of tests and quizzes, but sometimes she gives extra credit. The secret to success is to fill out the study guides she posts. Her outfit selection is impeccable.

As long as you go to class, take notes, and do the study guides she provides, you will do great. Tests are exactly what's on the study guides, and she makes it clear when what she's saying in class is important. She also gave out a couple of random extra credit points for going to class, but she definitely does have a unique sense of humor!

Bethany Rollins is a queen who cares a lot but test subjects are very niche and you need to remember how disordfersor theories present in real life more than just definitions.

professor rollins can come off as cold, but she is super sweet once you get to know her! the class is honestly not hard, there is just a lot of material to parse through; if you put in the time to study everything, especially the material in the textbook and videos she posts, it is not hard to get an A. often does extra credit on days before break.

I really enjoyed Professor Rollins' class!! If you put in the work, you will do well. She won't try and trip you with test questions, it's all really straight forward. PARTICIPATE IN CLASS! Sometimes she has random extra credit if you answered/asked a question in class, but she will also remember you if you do and that comes in clutch at the end.

Dr.Rollins' lectures are very interesting. Each test (4 tests + final, you can drop a test including the final) are 50 MCQs. There are also homework quizzes worth 20% of your grade and tests are 80% (20% each). Very good professor, show up to class, participate (she randomly gives extra credit), and she makes an effort to remember regular students

Professor Rollins has some pretty great lectures, but 80% of your grade is determined by how you do on the tests, which is very stressful. The tests aren't horrible if you study, and she gives extra credit to those who participate in class.

She's very understanding and accepted me into her class after the add class date passed. She was always available if I needed help catching up. Her lectures can be boring, but if you spend the time writing notes it passes by.

The tests are only hard if you do not attend class. Class is a must, she covers all of the content in the lectures and on the study guides she posts.

If you're good at memorization and literally go to class (it's only 50 minutes) anyone can do well. Rollins gives you an outline for each chapter so you can take notes super easily and gives you practice questions. It's definitely not my easiest class but not my hardest. I would take this class again--also shes dry asf but kinda funny

I really enjoyed this professor. I relied heavily on her study guides for exams! The questions on the guide are on the exam. Use the guide to find the definitions and an example or two in the textbook. Lectures can get boring, but the case studies are always interesting (Pavlov's dogs). The textbook is not a hard read, and very straight-forward.

As someone who did not go much to class she still was super informative and helpful when it came to test material. You get to drop a final and the homework is really easy! I would recommend as she provides clear and concise study guides and outlines that make the syllabus extremely clear

Professor Rollins is sweet and will randomly give out extra credit for participation in class. My only complaint is that most tests have niche, weirdly worded questions that are extremely specific. Attendance isn't a must though as her Study Guides are very comprehensive and answer most of test. I assumed Psych would be easier though.

If ur a bad test taker or cannot memorize a large amount of info do not take psych 1000. If you're good at both of those things, this should be an easy class. 5 tests including final, one can be dropped + mini quizzes. I don't like how your grades are dependent on basically 5 exams, and it's difficult to raise if you want a higher grade.

Many say her lectures are boring but I actually found them pretty interesting. Her class is EXTREMELY TEST HEAVY, but she offers really helpful study guides and if you do them you will do good on the tests. You get 1 dropped test grade which is really helpful since many fully bombed the first test not knowing what to expect. Overall would recommend

Dr. Rollins is super sweet! Her class is easy, as she does provide study guides for every chapter which I found useful. Do not miss class unless you have someone that can give you notes for the lecture! The slides are made for one to attend class and take notes. She will speak slowly or emphasize things that will be on the test.

I was nervous to take her class considering her ratings on here. Though, if you work hard, do the study guides and attend lecture, you will do just fine. Her lectures are always engaging, though, it can be hard to listen sometimes during the boring topics. She is very accessible and was super helpful in office hours. DO the study guides!!

If you are good at memorizing, then Rollins' class will be easy for you. Take good notes and follow her study guides well, its possible to ace her tests. She also randomly gave out extra points if you participated in class on some days. I started studying early for tests and you will know exactly what she will put on it from the study guides.

Take very good notes and memorize it for the tests. I barely studied and got Bs so reading notes will def give u the A. Its really not that bad or difficult if you take notes and actually study them. Read the study guides bc they say what info from the txbk is on the tests. Gives bonus points sometimes to people who answer/ ask questions in class

Honestly loved her. Warms up as the semester goes on and has the best sarcastic humor. Lectures are straightforward and easy to follow along with. Your grade is solely based on quizzes and tests but you can drop your lowest test grade. As long as you go to class, read the textbook, and study you will do fine. Would definitely recommend this class.

Professor Rollins was awesome. Her class was all lectures, but it was very interesting. She talked slowly enough so you could write down all the notes, and she posted study guides before each test. GO INTO HER OFFICE HOURS!!! She answers every single question in depth and is so helpful. The first test is the hardest, and then it gets easier.

Everyone hates on her but she's not bad. She tells really interesting stories while teaching I thought. She really likes engagement in class so ask questions! If you study for the tests you'll do well (4 tests + final and you can drop any of the 5). Only thing is that she's kind of blunt and can come across as mean but I don't think she really is.

Dry lectures & talks SO slow (+ repeats everything) but makes content very straightforward/easy to understand. Tests are basically exactly what's said in class and she lets you drop one of four tests or the final. Gives extra credit for attendance/participation and going to class 100% helps on tests anyway. Hilarious if you're into dry humor.

This class is easy to get an A in if you know how to approach it. You DO NOT need to read the textbook, so don't buy it unless you're getting the undergrad book bundle. The key is taking notes using the chapter outlines in Canvas Modules. They don't give lecture notes, but show exactly what's covered, making lectures easy to follow.

Rollins is a solid professor with great dry humor if you pay attention in class, but can be boring at times. Your grade is based entirely on 4 midterms, a final, and take home quizzes. Prof. Rollins is a very sweet and knowledgeable person. Great introductory class to psychology. She sometimes gives extra credit for asking a question in lecture. All of my tests were multiple choice so that was nice. Be sure to sit close to the front because she is kind of quiet.
