Just keep up on the notes and go to class. She's fun. And it's interesting.
class was so hard. she taught me nothing and her lisp made me want to jab sharp things in my eys. i hated her class and i now hate science comepletely. never take her class.
The class could have been a nightmare, but she made it easy to understand and take notes in. A little boring at times, but overall, I liked her a lot.
A decent teacher. Tests aren't too bad. Just keep up in class and you will do fine.
Bio 1 was the easiest science class I have ever taken. Didn't need the book because her tests went with the notes.
The main problem I had with the class was that certain questions were on the test, but you had no idea from the study guide. Also, some of the wording of the test questions were confusing. This was the only class were people were asleep after 5 minutes.
Dr. Stone is an awesome professor. She really makes herself available if you have questions. She also gives everybody feedback on how they're doing. I would definitely take her class if you need to take Bio 1.
Very easy and elementary class/teaching style
Bottom line:Class lectures are somewhat interesting, outside work is horribly complicated and groupwork is confusing.Take Stone's class if you like mind-numbingly difficult and tedious assignments and exams.
Easiest class I've taken in college, but I had to work at it. She's very helpful and caring.
I took her class two semesters ago. She was an excellent professor. She was available for help when needed, her tests were reasonable, if you studied. The group work was worthless but what can you do about that.
good class, good teacher, if you try you can get an A
Great teacher, always available for help, You can get an A if you work at it, and she'll definetely help you. Great study guide that tells u exactly whats on the test
Class is easy, tests are easy, teacher is annoying
If you want to get an A in this class, you can easily. She offers tons of help and tests are strictly from the notes. There is a lot of little assignments, but they're graded easy and are good for bringing up your grade.
BIO 1010 is supposed to be a non-science majors class. Dr. Stone teaches it like it is for science majors. I found the tests to be nearly impossible and the group work made me feal like I was back in kindergarten. She is a very nice lady but do not take her class unless you love science.
Mrs. Stone did an excellent job this semester...just watch her tests some can be sneaky, but the good news is there are a lot of points in her class so you can screw up a couple and still keep an A. Trust me i know from experience...if your taking the class i'd say go with stone she made it fun.
Dr. Stone is super nice and treats this like a class for non-majors as it should be. Her notes are concise, easy, and clear. Very, very organized. She is very friendly and willing to help. The group work is annoying but easy points and she is understanding; offering easy points and occasional extra credit. If you have to take bio, take it with her.

Dr. Stone is a very good teacher and she thoroughly explains what she expects out of her students, but her tests are extremely difficult. However, there are a lot of overall points in the class so it is possible to get a good grade in the class, even if you haven't done so well on the tests.
Dr. Stone is a great professor! I recommend her to anyone needing to take Bio. Her class isn't easy but she's willing to help you out at anytime in anyway possible. She gives you lots of oppurtunites to get easy points and very understanding when things come up.
Offers a lot of good study tools.
She is an awesome teacher. She is organized, clear, interactive and fun. Her tests are easy and if you study and do the reviews you will get an A no problem. Very fair teacher and an interesting class!
prof stone was very good in lecture. she simplified things extremely. the online assignments are very helpful and boost your grade, so do them! and she posts practice tests and previous tests, which are great for exam review. wording on some test questions are confusing, but if you ask, she may through it out! very fair prof!
Dr. Stone provided online chats the night before exam days where she would often ask identical questions to the ones on exams. She was very easy to get ahold of and provided multi-media in class to help understand concepts easily.
very nice, helpful, wonderful notes, easy to understand, not difficult, and easy to get a good grade
Loved her! she made class fun and prepared us well for the tests.
Awersome professor. Made class fun, interesting, and very accessible for everyone with very easy to understand notes and well-designed lectures. Tests and assignments were very, very straightforward. Demonstrates a true passion for Biology and for educating students about it. Very helpful as well during office hours.
Bethany was the best teacher I've ever had. PERIOD! She made biology interesting and relevant to our day-to-day lives. I will truely miss her class. If you have the opportunity to be one of her students...take that chance!
Great professor.
Great teacher...I enjoy the class
very helpful and even drops some of your lowest grades, i felt confident in getting a good grade in the class because she's very fair
Incredible lady. Best teacher I've had this semester, made the transition to college a wonderful experience.
The BEST teacher I have EVER had so far in college. I thought the online questions were sometimes difficult but it REALLY helps for the test. Also, the online review sessions were GREAT!
Dr. Stone cares greatly about her students understanding of the material and wants to help everyone achieve the grade they want. She offers lots of online resources for further understanding beyond the thorough notes she gives during class. No textbook, and lots of points in the class. Remember when weekly assignments are due and you should be fine
One of my most memorable teachers ever here @ MU. She's very outgoing, and fun to have. She's extremely nice, helpful and understanding (always willing to help!) Definitely reccommend her!
LOVE HER!!! She makes science (for non-majors) so much fun. I understand it and she gives great examples! Definitely one of my favorite teachers. It should be a decent grade.
If you go to class and do all the work there is no reason you shouldnt get an A. Her notes are easy to follow and she gives you a study guide for every test based on the notes. She is very helpful and knowledgable
Very easy Just go to class for the IN class assignments. Non-cumulative exam. Just lot of fun.
Class was awesome. She made it interesting, and her notes were really easy to understand and follow. I did not like how lab and lecture did not flow together. She also had some technical difficulties w/her laptop, but class was just canceled early. She's a great teacher, and I am sure you will enjoy the class as much as I did.
Go to class, you'll get an A
Awesome teacher! If you go to class pay attention and take notes you will understand the material. Study for the test and use the study guides and you will be fine! She seems to know not everyone is a bio major and has to take this class so she makes it intersting for everyone.
GREAT TEACHER! The tests are HARD but she does so many in class assignments so, if you go you can easily get at least a high B! FUN CLASS!!!!
Such a great professor! Makes coming to class fun. Tests are difficult - be sure to put extra effort into studying - but the class is completely worth it. You will learn a lot.
I thought I would hate Biology, but she made it interesting. Everything we learned was applicable to everyday real life. It's a super easy class if you go to lecture.
were clear teaching and tests are straight forward
Great teacher, tests are mostly multilevel choice. There are in class assignents are easy points. All notes are by PowerPoint. Don't need textbook!! Makes bio interesting and easy. Homework every once & a while also boosts grade! Really nice! Best bio 1000 level lecturer! Take it! Easy A (or at worst B)
She really makes it her goal to have everyone in the class succeed. Also, she makes everything relatable and constantly tries to work into her lecture what students want to learn about.
Absolutely loved this professor. She loves what she teaches and makes learning fun. She is very student oriented. I would highly RECOMMEND her!
She is so helpful! I'm not a science-oriented person at all, but she made the class so much fun. She wants everyone to learn and feel comfortable with what they're learning. Attendance is essential because she has in-class assignments all the time, but they are good to build up a solid grade. I would definitely recommend any class with her!
She's an awesome teacher. Gives great examples and explanations. It would be very difficult to fail this class as long as you show up and pay attention. All of her classes are recorded on tegrity but she has in class assignments. These assignments are good practice for the test/quizzes.
By far one of the easiest classes. If you go to lecture and study your notes the night before an exam there is no reason you should get more than 2 questions wrong per test. There are so many ways to earn points in her class it's not even funny!
AMAZING TEACHER. She is one of the best professors at Mizzou. Go to class and you'll get an A. She will do whatever she can to help you.
Professor Stone is an amazing teacher! She is all about the students! Lots of points available in her class to cushion a bad test grade! If you're a non-bio major and need a bio class or are just needing an extra class I HIGHLY recommend taking a class by her!!!
She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Notes are extremely organized and easy to follow. However, tests can be difficult and never a curve. TONS of points, but also tons of homework. I have gotten bad test scores, but I have enough other points to make up for it. Overall a good class, and a super nice teacher.
She cares about her students, but you need to attend class. She has A LOT of assignments (2 per week) plus in class assignments and in class projects. Also you will have to do a semester long project. If you lose points on ICA or ICP by missing class your grade could suffer-- they add up. However, she does offer some extra credit. No book required!
SUCH a good teacher. Always willing to help and teaches things in a way that makes sense. NO TEXTBOOK NEEDED. Lectures always available on Tegrity if you miss a class. It's a lot of work (weekly assignments, multiple tests, readings before every class), but I left the class feeling like I actually learned something. Highly recommend her.
Took her my freshman year and LOVED the class. Hands down my favorite class. she is very clear and presents the information well. She is more than happy to answer any questions students have. Test are fairly easy as long as you go to class, take notes, and pay attention. Holds study sessions the night before exam to answer any last minute questions
Best teacher I've had so far at Mizzou. I took her botany class and she was an extremely helpful teacher. Like they all said, she has a lot of points available so a bad test doesn't hurt you much, and the tests aren't that bad. No book required thanks to her use of tegrity. But go to class. Highly recommended for almost a guaranteed pass.
Yes there are a ton of points for her class but her tests are nothing like her lectures. You will do well on everything but the tests.
Definitely the best teacher I had at Mizzou. Her lectures are very organized and help a ton with the tests. She is a very fair grader. Always willing to help and goes out of her way for students to succeed. Definitely take Dr. Stone for bio!
She is a wonderful professor. I can tell she puts just as much if not more time into this class outside of the classroom as we do. She is clear, helpful, and happy. AWESOME
Dr.Stone is one of the best teachers at Mizzou! She's very organized in her lectures and makes sure we all learn something. Bio has become one of my favorite subjects thanks to her. Make sure you take notes and use tegrity. If you ever need help Dr.Stone will be willing to help you. Theres no way you could fail the class!
uses trick questions
I went to her and inquired about my exam score being lower than I believed it should be. Mrs. Stone recommended disability services to me. Avoid her at all costs!
Professor Stone is easily my favorite professor! As long as you go to class, take notes and pay attention, you will have no problem with passing. She really does a good job of making sure every has a good understanding of biology.
Dr. Stone was one of the professors I liked my first semester of college. Biology is not my best or favorite subject but she finds ways to make the lectures interesting. Everything is posted to tegrity but she does do in class assignments randomly! Tests could be difficult, it just depends on your knowledge. I liked her a lot and am glad I had her!
The class is a large lecture class but rather than teaching during lecture, she expects you to learn the material outside of class through Tegrity (which doesn't work half the time) and gives you an assignment to complete with a partner instead. It's unbelievably frustrating.
She does a lot of tegrity expecting you to learn a lot on your own. Is a tough grader, and has a test every two weeks, while the other bio 1010 classes have one per month. She isn't very flexible when asking for extra help.
Felt like I learned a lot from this class, although tests were somewhat difficult she kept the lectures interesting.
Great teacher. Lotttts of material to help prepare for tests. Didn't like the Friday group activities though.
A lot of course material but class itself isn't too difficult-just tedious. Beth Stone is always very friendly and concise, office hours are very helpful
I absolutely loved Professor Stone. It is very clear that she loves what she does, and she cares about her students. There is a lot of material to memorize, but she provides plenty of resources for students to use for studying. If you spend the time, you should't have a problem getting an A.
very helpful if you go into her office hours. lots of points so one or two bad test grades won't hurt your grade. notes are very well organized but you do have to study to get a good grade
She rocks! She is so helpful and I love her flipped friday activities! Can't wait to take her plant pathogen class
She is a wonderful professor that knows what she's doing. She's been here for a long time and she's amazing at teaching. There are activities for points during class, so you need to go. There is a test every other week but she does this so you don't have to have as much information on each test.
Bethany is a great professor. She really cares about her students and walks you through everything that is going on. Class can be a little tough at times. It's all about how much time you spend outside of class studying. As long as you follow along in and outside of class you should do well.
Dr. Stone is always helpful when you need it. Her office hours are flexible and is willing to schedule other meetings if needed. As long as you study you'll do fine. She's very clear on what you need to do to get a certain grade
Dr. Stone tends to spend a lot of time focusing on in-class assignments and awkward group work instead of actually teaching us the material. Since there is no textbook required for the class, she posts links to material online (some of which are outdated and/or don't work). Her tests are fairly difficult and she rarely lectures in class.
Don't be worried of this class being too difficult. You will have to do group activities which get annoying but if you find people you like it will be fine. Going to class is important. Only short weekly quizzes for homework. Lots of note taking.
Beware of ICAs, quizzes, and a huge group project!
be ready to put a lot of work into this class and come to EVERY CLASS. There are in class assignments almost every class but it's a nice boost to your grade. The tests are SUPER hard but there are other assignments to bring up your grade. There is also a group project at the end of the year. Be ready to work!!
Gives a lot of in class work and opportunities for points, but will grade an easy extra credit very hard. She is very rude. She talks to her students like we are in a middle school health class. She will probably end up screwing you over with points due to her lack of organization/clarity at one point in the semester.
Professor Stone provides many materials to study for exams such as study guides, old exams, and worksheets. She makes you work for it though, it is a flipped class so you watch videos before hand and do assignments in class. 1 group project, and 5 exams plus optional final... tons of work but offers about 30 extra credit points through the year.
Professor Stone rocks! My major was nowhere near botany, but I highly enjoyed this class and loved 1) the real-life application of the elements of her teaching and 2) her approachability. I highly recommend taking her classes and would definitely take a class of hers again.
I really loved this class. Dr. Stone is both knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches. This class is partially flipped so it does take a little more time for you to be successful. I don't think it's very difficult, she gives a lot of resources to help you out for sure.
Professor Stone was incredible! She enthusiastically taught each class, throwing in some cheesy botanical jokes as she saw fitting. You can tell she's a passionate and seasoned educator! I recommend her classes.
She is very passionate about what she teaches and is really engaging in her lectures, throwing in some corny jokes here and there also! There is an in-class activity every day, so if you skip class your grade will fall, but she's very lenient on exams and such and drops the lowest few quizzes, in-class assignments, and lowest test score.
Best professor I've had so far. I wish she taught other classes that I could take. She's extremely good at explaining new ideas and wants her students to understand the material.
She gives very interesting lectures. You need to go to class to pass because she does not put the power points online. She is very easy to get ahold of and very helpful when in need of help.
She was a wonderful speaker with an easy going personality, the labs were usually pretty easy but the lab reports were really long and you depend on your labmates to succeed. The readings weren't too hard and the exams were fairly comprehensive. Nothing too bad, but you did need to put in the effort.
Dr. Stone is the best biology professor Ive ever had! I was really dreading having to take science gen eds, but she makes every topic interesting and important. I just couldnt understand protein synthesis before this class, but now its a breeze. She also really cares about her students actually learning the material :)
She is an excellent teacher, but enjoys fitting political agenda into classes.
NEVER take a class with this professor. Gives out in class assignments almost every class, that can really hurt your grade if you miss class frequently. Horrible teaching style that involves readings and videos to watch before class and poor lecture. 6 exams, and ridiculous group work/projects make this class one of the worst I've ever taken.
Really enjoyed the class! Interesting lectures, and I already find myself applying some of the concepts we discussed in class to everyday life. I especially liked being able to take home each of our exams and immediately have access to the answer keys to review.
Really easy class for a gen ed science. You do have to sit with "teams" that she assigns all semester which can be annoying. Participation assignments every class- easy points but you can't skip. Tests are a breeze if you study and she ends up offering almost 50 extra credit points. Group project at the end but she grades it easily.
I would never take one of her courses again. I am an education major that was forced to take this as a class for credits and it was horrible. She was not that caring and did not respond to many emails. It was way too difficult for an entry level course.
Anyone who gives Professor Stone a poor score just doesn't want to work for a good grade. Stone is funny and relatable, applies all material to real life, and truly cares about how well her students are learning. She is extremely passionate about bio. Tales awhile to answer emails, but thats about it.
Professor Stone is the best professor I have had at Mizzou to date. She cares about how well her students do and strives for them to succeed. She offers many opportunities for extra credit and is always willing to create office hour times for you to come in and get ideas on how to improve. I highly recommend her for BIO.
Very sweet person. Felt like I was back in a high school classroom with the way she taught. That being said the material in the class is mostly high school AP material so it's incredibly easy. There is a group project of some sort but with the COVID-19 pandemic we just didn't do it.
I loved Professor Stones Bio 1010 class. She is so nice and is great at teaching the course content.
I love Dr. Stone! She is an amazing example of what a professor should be like. Incredibly caring and understanding, she was flexible with the pandemic and was available during office hours outside of class every week, and is willing to help you. There is group work in lab, and a decent amount of assignments. Relatively easy if you study well.
While the class seemed daunting at first, I was able to utilize her Canvas in order to stay organized. Everything Dr. Stone does is in order to help her students learn, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her students. She was always enthusiastic and used real-life examples in her teaching. Stay on top of your work, and you'll do great.
Dr. Stone has been my favorite professor by far. Her canvas site is extremely well organized which makes a normally difficult class pretty easy to do well in as long as you put in the effort. She breaks up the lecture videos into individual topics so it doesn't get boring. If you are interested in plant science at all, this class won't be too hard.
She was awesome!!
Dr. Stone is everything you want to see in a professor. Shes understanding, caring, funny, and good at teaching! She never makes you feel stupid for asking a question. Love Bethany Stone!
Great teacher, if you study you'll do fine, really kind
This class is easy if you attend. She has in class activities that are graded, but she drops the lowest 3. Final is also optional. She provides so many helpful materials to help study for exams, such as like 3 past exams and a study guide with tons of helpful video links. She genuinely wants you to do well, and her exams are not written to trick u
She was a great professor. Except we had assigned seats which was stupid because were in a lecture with 200 plus people. Felt like I was taking a course from a highschool professor. Separated us in people who no joke will wear a mask in class and then people who wont wear a mask in class. Even sent out. survey asking if I was vaccinated.
Dr. Stone is a very kind professor, and does seem to genuinely care about her students. However, only take this class if you enjoyed high school. If you are ready to be treated like an adult, then this is not the class for you. She assigns seating (ew) and even has done the "I'll wait.." in response to light chatter. It is just so annoying
This class is easily my least favorite in-person course I've taken at Mizzou. The professor acts like a high school teacher and expects people to sit in groups, attend every lecture, and participate in group projects a lot. Short answer? Too much emphasis on ICAs and group participation.
BIO 2150. This class did not cover many genetic diseases. It spent most of the course reviewing basic biology with the last 6 weeks of class going over genetic diseases. You do a group project for the entire semester and the class mostly consists of busy work. Class felt like a writing intensive with how much you had to do. Lots of researching
If you want to feel like you're in high school again, this is the class for you. Seating charts, mandatory attendance, and group projects with people you don't choose are just a few of the things you'll see. The class in general isn't hard but it can get very frustrating when it comes to the class dynamic.
Super easy class, attendance matters tho. Lots of extra credit opportunities and group work.
Prof Stone can be reminiscent of a high school teacher but is very engaging during lectures. However there are seating charts, and assignments in class every single lecture. Tests were either a breeze or oddly difficult but it's manageable if you study a bit. Just show up to class and take good notes and you'll be fine.
Some of her teaching methods could be a bit annoying but she truly cares about her students. As someone who's immunocompromised her decision to separate the class by masking habits was highly appreciated and helped keep me safe. Overall her class was more accessible than most but it is necessary to attend in-person lectures most of the time.
I loved professor stone! She was very clear in lectures about what we needed to know and what we didn't. She was always available for help outside of class and would try several different methods to help you understand the content. The only bad thing about this course was the TA never seeming prepared for discussion.
I had Dr. Stone for genetics and it was her first time teaching the course, so my experience may not be indicative of her as a professor. If you do have to take her, my best advice is not to get complacent. Lots of reading, lots of homework, test criteria aren't clearly communicated, and whether you have a good TA is rolling the dice. Hard class.
I liked how this professor really cared about teaching. The only thing I didn't care for at all was the group project. It lasted the entire semester and was frustrating. Other than that she is very approachable and never thinks that there are stupid questions. All the TAs are amazing.
She is a fun professor.
The class is ran like Highschool. Assigned seating/Group projects and ICA's EVERYDAY That being said, if you pay attention and show up to class you will do great. She is very clear on what will be on the exam and its obvious she wants all students to succeed. Lectures are very comprehensible and I ended the year understanding every topic in detail.
I loved Dr.Stone. She was always enthusatic, well prepared, & is one of my fav prof I've ever had. Attendance is mantatory but at 9am she still made fun/intersting. She had practice exams that were close to the actual exams, encourgaed participation, & was very helpful if you had a question. I loved her slideshows and the organzation of her class.
great
Super similar to a high school class, with mandatory attendance, seating charts, etc.
Dr. Stone's class is very interesting and will help you learn a lot. Beware of seating charts, mandatory group projects outside of class, mandated paper notes, and participation. She definitely cares about her students, but you have to attend class in order to pass. Prepare for 6 exams and a lab practical over the semester.
Dr. Stone genuinely cares about her students and what she is teaching. Be prepared for a seating chart and mandatory semester team project. She does a good job of making things fair though and always explains information very well. If you don't think you will attend class every single time, don't take this class as it will hurt your grade.
Dr. Stone is a great professor and genuinely cares about your success as long as you work with her to achieve that. She does assign a team and team project as well as making you sit with your team during class, and she has a lot of in class assignments but if you pay attention and do what you're supposed to its all super easy.
While 1010 was a huge class and I never actually talked to her outside of answering questions in class, I found her to be a pleasant teacher and seemingly a pretty solid person. She clearly cares about her students and their success (she does a ton of studies on how to get the best results, apparently). Would recommend.
I LOVE DR. STONE!!! People often complain about her mandatory group work, which can be annoying, but really isn't difficult. Most of the in-class assignments with your group are easy review sheets that get you "free" points as long as you show up. Dr. Stone is so engaging and kind, and I know she cares so much about her classes. Totally recommend!
Dr. Stone is a very caring person and you get "free" points for doing ICAS if you just show up to class, so that's nice, it boosts your grade. But, you do get an assigned group (and group project) + assigned seats which felt very high school to me. My biggest issue is that she requires paper notes unless you email her and ask to use electronics...
Dr. Stone was a good professor however, she made this class hard for non-majors. I heard the professor that teaches this course in the fall is far easier. If you are a non-major like I was I'd recomend taking this course in the fall semester. Attendance is mandatory and you have assigned seats. Overall, not a bad class but content was rough.
You can tell she really wants her students to succeed in this class. She makes it as easy as it can be to pass, as long as you show up and pay attention. There was a group research project, but if you put in effort and follow instructions it's pretty easy to do well on. She leaves feedback on the group submission, which is also helpful.
Lecture is heavy and even the smallest things will be on all exams. Tests are a little hard to prepare for as random things mentioned in class and small "non important" details are involved. Good professor though, you can tell she cares about her students and wants them to succeed.
Dr. Stone is an engaging professor who genuinely cares about her students. While the group work can be a bit annoying, it's not too difficult if you put in the effort. Using unstuck AI along with the provided materials made studying much easier.
She's very difficult to work with for disability accommodations compared to other professors I have had. Attendance is mandatory despite a lot of the content being very basic concepts that I've learned in high school biology courses. There's a lot of work outside of class including growing a plant, a grow log for the plant, and a group project.
She does a wonderful job at making lectures interesting and is super kind and respectful to all her students :)
She's a great lecturer, makes the material interesting with her passion
What an amazing professor and person Dr.Stone is. She always came to class with a smile on her face, no matter what she was going through. The lectures were easy to follow and interesting. The labs were well thought out and participation made your grade. The only downside is a semester-long project with random partners.
Dr. Stone is a super nice women who teaches botany in an easy to understand way. She will talk to you about plants all day long and will answer any questions you have. I thought her lectures were entertaining and interesting and very easy to follow and take notes on. I would love to have her again!
-will keep you late everyday -does not talk about anything worthwhile in class ex. she spent the entire 50 minutes of last class talking about how to use AI opposed to helping us review for our exam two days later ex2. spent the ENTIRE first two weeks trying to convince us why a harvested apple is alive... that is just incorrect and wastes my money
Aside from the semester long project with strangers and a random lecture about AI in place of an exam review, I have really enjoyed Dr. Stone's class. She is kind and grades fairly, plus she is extremely understanding when her students are unable to attend class or submit an assignment on time for unexpected reasons. I would definitely recommend!
Bethany Stone was an excellent professor. She breaks things down well, and really only focuses on necessary topics that you can connect with other topics in later classes. Bethany is very considerate of your time, and is willing to work with you if you can't make a deadline. I didn't love the group project, but that was more because of the group.
The tests are very difficult to understand. She uses AI to write them, and student made questions. I personally knew the subject, but when I go in for exams, I feel dumb because of the way they are written. She is not very forgiving with attendance. This class is very group-heavy, and if you don't have good teammates, be ready to do everything.
Dr. Stone is a very smart and enthusiastic professor who cares very deeply about her subject. I would not recommend this class if it is not required for your major or you do not have a big interest in botany. It is very test heavy and there is an exam every 3 weeks. She likes to put in confusing word questions so I would reread everything.
She is such a lovely woman and she genuinely cares about your learning. You have to go to class every day to get a good grade. If you show up to class and actively study you will do well. Generous drop policy. Great choice to get your biological science with a lab credit! The labs are not that difficult and you will have to do a group long project.
Dr. Stone is the greatest! She is so kind, smart, and funny. If you come to lecture and use the study resources given to you, you will do great. She wants each and every student to succeed. She once got on to me for being on my laptop lol. Later in the semester I realized she really just wants a class full of attentive students who will do great.
Class is pretty easy as long as you pay attention and study. The content isn't difficult to digest, but can seem off-topic at times. Class is structured around small groups and there is a lot of busy work during class, which attendance is part of your grade.
Dr. Stone was very welcoming and made an easy transition into college. Attendance was very important for daily in-class activities and notes on lecture. You can walk away from this class with multiple basil plants and maybe African violets, would definitely recommend.
