She made math tolerable and very understandabe. She had tons of patience
Really Good Prof, she reminds me of a kindergarten teacher?
very good math teacher. patient and compassionate. Highly reccomend her.
she is not that helpful. She does help once than forgets about you.
Very good explanations of material. Maybe a little too easy?
Very nice prof. Was helpful and made math interesting and fun
makes math understandable, very easy!
Nice professor, hard to keep up with if you don't understand the material
nice lady, answers all questions, EZ tests, sometimes confusing
she made material that I struggled with seem so easy, and exams were very easy!
Very nice- easy to get along with, waits so everyone understands!
She helps you when you need it and the final is so easy!

Take her if you suck at math. I've always gotten d's and e's and i'm now getting an A in her class. Shes so cool explains well and is a very nice lady. She makes things funand theres alot of extra credit!
Very good prof, nice, helpful, easy, lots of extra credit, i always did bad in math(d's and e's) and with her class i got an A. I recommend her.
easy class and helful professor- I highly recommend taking her
Very nice, sometimes confusing, and a bit of a soft talker. Overall a very good prof. Not too difficult if you hate math.
She is the worst math teacher i have had in my entire life. I hated math before now i will never take another class because of her. She dosn't help anyone and she rambles on and on about nothing and confuses you more than if you were to do it on your own
If you got past Algebra 2 or Advanced Algebra in high school, this will be a cakewalk review for you. Just hope you remember it all, because more often than not, you will be teaching yourself.
The entire class is easy...but she is very confusing. Plan on teaching yourself, she talks so soft you can hardly hear her and she rambles on and on. Easy class...not so good prof.
SHES THE WORST MATH TEACHER I HAVE EVEER HAD. PLAN ON TEACHING YOURSELF EVERYTHING.
if you are planning on taking this teacher SWITCH. she may be easy but you won't learn a thing cause she can't explain things well at all.
She is horrible. I am lucky I knew the material before taking this class. She dosn't know how to explain things and half the time we end up sorrecting mistaks she makes when trying to do sample problem. She is nice, but very confusing when trying to teach
If you know what's good for you don't take this class go straight to 110. Reason being she sucks as a teacher because she confuses her self and makes stuff harder than it looks. I knew mostly all the stuff she covered but got a C for not going to class. Even though I got A's and B's on the exams.
This class was extremely boring. She is a terrible teacher and can't hold the attention of a snail. Her annoying voice and horse teeth distract you from learning anything she tries to teach you. Not to mention she makes everything she teachs harder than what it should be. If you have her, SWITCH!
Very nice person. Willing to help you if you're struggling. Very flexible... helped me in a tight spot. Lectures a little boring but i'm not one for math. Take her if you hate math but try not to take the class in the morning ;)
This class was very easy, and the prof did a good job. everything was well taught. if you get the chance, then take her. very easy gen ed.
Worst teaching on the planet earth!! She never wants to help you. If You have to take this class wit her just drop it and save your time.
One of the better math teachers I've had. She's willing to help and answer questions and she explains things well. Gives lots of in-class practice, so doing the homework is pointless since it's not graded. Would highly recommend her to anybody -- math lover or not.
This class was a breeze! Homework's not mandatory and there's only 3 tests and a final, plus quizzes and activities (highest 10 go towards your grade). She's a really nice prof. and makes things really easy to understand.
Makes you kinda wanna kill yourself. Annoying to listen to, vague... backtracks when speaking. Stay away!
I didn't really like her. She messed up examples and couldn't keep things straight sometimes. She explained things well but she talked herself through everything she did, which was really annoying. Overall the class was easy. Lots of in-class activities which if you are there for help you out.
This was the easiest class I had all year. Homework isn't mandatory, only 10 quizzes/in class assignments count towards your grade, and she usually lets you out early. Very nice, just tune in to what she's doing in class and you'll do fine.
SHE TEACHES!! finally a math teacher who teaches. I have never had a math teacher who can explain and make me understand WHY things are done untill her. Easy class especially when she shows how to do things.
Class is very easy, because the information was already learned in high school. Teacher messes up alot and always needs to be corrected(confusing at time) I have an A, and don't take any notes or do any homework. Not a good teacher and extremley boring. She is UNLCEAR.
Very nice, dry sense of humor at first but gets better, She dosn't grade homework(some of the profs do) so i would take her, cuz the homework is pointless.
Very easy. If you show up to class, you should get an A. She doesn't collect homework, which is good, because it's pointless anyway.
Best math teacher you will ever have. Breaks stuff down. Answers any questions and make sure you understand. However, class is boring, its math we learned 99.9% of it in high school. Sometimes thinks too fast & has to be corrected with her mistakes. Extremley fair, open notes for quiz, drop lowest test if final is better cant make up test/quiz
Very nice lady. Easy class. Explains things that NEED to be learned in math. A lot of times there are like 234234 ways to do math problems...she will go over the quickest and easiest way. Sometimes she messes up...okay it was a lot times.. and students have to fix her mistakes, but I mean who doesn't in math. Take her for sure.
She's awful at explaining things. Everyone is always confused about what she's talking about - she's always going off on tangents and is semi-crazy. She's a really easy teacher though, sometimes the questions on her tests won't make sense though. overall she's easy but very weird.
I didn't think she was that nice. She makes the class ridiculously easy, and homework isn't graded. I'm glad I had her because it was an easy A, but she wasn't all that nice.
Very nice, very easy, you probably learned everything she teaches in junior high so it's kinda boring, but she tries really hard to make class interesting
This Professor is VERY nice. She is willing to help with anything, but you have to make sure to ask. Taking this class with her is a good class to get you use to the college life. Homework is not mandatory but it is a great idea to do it!
Pretty good teacher... I suck at math, and I am pulling an A right now. Explains things pretty well, lets you leave 15-30 min all the time, and doesnt give mandatory hw. Best teacher ever.
She confuses herself all the time, but if you know math well, you'll be able to point the problem out to her. Go to class everyday, though, because she has surprise quizzes, but the easy part is, they're group quizzes. She puts test reviews up before every test, and she doesn't grade homework.
She is a really nice person but she doesnt teach the class very well. She doesnt explain the material and she often starts talking about random things in the middle of answering a question. It was hard to follow her and take notes, not the best class.
She is a nice woman but she isn't the best teacher. She is horrible at explaining things and just assumes everyone is understanding and on the same page. She also makes errors A LOT when teaching which can easily confuse someone that isn't that great at math to begin with. If you're good at math you'll be fine. If not, try to take someone else!
Prof. Welling was very confusing. She often made mistakes when showing us problems which may throw off someone who is not very advanced with math. However, if you look through the examples in the book, you'll do fine on the tests. Overall it's a pretty easy class.
Prof. Welling was really into what she taught and very lenient. I would recommend her. she makes a lot of mistakes while explaining examples which is a little annoying.
Very clear and confident in what she is saying, knows exactly what is is taliking about..most of the time lol she has her off days. Has a sense of humor and very caring toward students.
Professor Welling is really nice & she always brings a smile to class! She gives out enough handouts for you to understand the material & she also goes over the handout with you. Lots of examples are provided & quizzes are almost always take home. If you write down the examples & go to class you're sure to pass, if not ace, the tests!
Really good teacher. One of the best math teachers I've ever had. I understand her completely and she never leaves me clueless. I recommend her!
Really nice professor! Doesn't give out a lot of homework and lets you use a "cheat sheet" on tests.
She is definitely the best 122 professor out there. She is a very easy grader and gives you enough worksheets/notes to make sure you understand the material. Homework is usually once a week, but is typically 3-5 questions. Exams are easy if you look over your notes and do a few of the practice problems on the syllabus. I would HIGHLY recommend her.
She didnt teach anything, but rather did an easy problem on the board and expected us to know how to do it, or something similar but much harder. She didn't know how to explain things in simpler terms, and for that matter didn't explain much anyway. I recomend a different professor if you want a good grade
Professor was easy, homework assignments were simple, tests were spelled out in the study guide. She makes a lot of mistakes when giving examples but if you follow along and correct everything made sense. I liked her and would recommend her if you have a stronger background in math.
BEST MATH PROF!!!!!!! I WISH I COULD HAVE HER FOR 122 BUT MY BIOLOGY CLASS IS AT THE SAME TIME SHE TEACHES =/ GET HER!!!! I LOVE HER
Welling was not a good teacher especially if you are not particularly good at math.I had to get a tutor just because she did not explain anything clear and it was better to be one on one with someone who actually can teach the material. I wouldn't recommend her.
Do notttt take this prof. I just had her and couldn't stand her. Although she's pretty easy, the way she teaches isn't easy to understand a lot of the time. And she fumbles on how to explain things.
Great professor! I had her for 097 too and she is just great. She explains everything well and I don't have a strong background in Math but I did great! TAKE HERRRR! I wish I could get her for MTH 122 but it doesn't work with my schedule.
There actually was no textbook for this class. The only homework that was assigned was to watch her lecture videos on Blackboard and take notes, then we did our work in class (as a group!). She is very quick to answer any questions, and does a great job communicating her expectations. She provides many practice problems in order to help with exams.
Professor Welling is the best math teacher I have every had. The class is flipped, meaning watch a u-tube video at home with related work sheet, take notes, come to class, do homework and activities with partners and groups! Prepares you for the exams! Great class take if you find it hard to follow lectures.
Great prof! Really straight forward on what is expected on the exams!
She is awful! The lectures are online and sometimes they are a bit confusing. You do worksheets in class and are still expected to do the homework at home. You are required to go to class. She says that you only do homework in class which is a lie. She can be very ditzy and its awful. She is willing to work with you on anything, so that's good.
She knows what she's talking about, but makes constant mistakes. We have to correct a mistake she made on homework, quiz or examples on the board.
Grades on everything, you must have work for every assignment, pop quiz almost every week but never the same day, usually give the wrong answers to her own problems and which is very confusing to those who can't follow along as easy
Hilarious class, I had a hybrid with her. She literally goes on the webcam and talks to all of us from her house. Kinda funny, aside from that, shes kinda meanish. Like I had the worksheet done for the day and all the homework completed for that week and she was all angry at me for leaving class 30 minutes early one time, so I never did it again...
I would not recommend taking her class if you can't learn on-line with little to no help. She's okay, but can be very unhelpful and distracted. She never seemed to be organized at all and made many mistakes throughout lectures. She does grade pretty easily though.
If you're someone that can teach yourself some material, she is awesome. Time in class is spent doing group assignments to learn the material rather than listening to a lecture. Always willing to help you with in-class assignments and homework. Only 5 problems of homework a week and provides reviews for all tests.
Sweet lady but honestly had NO CLUE what she was talking about. I'm a senior taking this class as a blowoff and got A's in all high school math class. She doesn't actually teach and gets her own answers wrong and has to be corrected. She takes forever to grade and is a really hard grader. She's so disorganized and not helpful. Do not take her......
Do not take her. She made the course much harder than it needed to be. She never explained anything and most of the time handed you a paper and teach yourself. We never used the book. Her test were hard, probably because she didn't teach us anything. I highly recommend not taking her unless you are good at teaching yourself math.
Lots of homework, but all of it is geared towards her exams, which does help. She does drop your lowest exam grade too, which i did not realize how much it helped boost my grade. Would recommend her to anyone. Only negative part is that she makes you watch videos before class to have an idea of what you're going to learn in class.
The class I took was a hybrid class basically, you learn from YouTube videos she posts and do checkpoints before every class. If you do the review before the tests you should be fine. I skipped a lot because it was an 8am, but honestly if you don't go it'll only hurt you because she does a lot of in class assignments. You get out 20 minutes early.
She does not know how to teach this subject she doesn't explain how she gets her answers but expects you to. You do not touch the $80 textbook she says you need, doesn't give notes just youtube videos, and 2-3 worksheets a class then online homework.
DO NOT BUY TEXT BOOK. you won't need it. Pretty easy, but you learn through youtube videos and then to activities in class. It was an easy class, but she didn't teach much and she is so boring. Do the reviews and show up, you'll be fine.
Do not buy the textbook! I only touched it to move it out of my way! You learn most things online, then do worksheets in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but you sometimes get in class worksheets that are due for credit. Do the study guides and go to class if you questions, and the overall class was easy.
She's a nice person but isn't a very good prof. She messed up a lot of answers and was confusing most of the time. Get help at the math center instead of asking her! Do the study guides and you should do fine on the 3 exams and the final.
she is a nice teacher and really seems like she's cares about the students except she teaches things in a crazy way that is tough to follow. we get worksheets in class but Half the time she doesnt grade it. we have lots of webwork homework, but she was nice and didn't Make us buy a book! we also use demos which is pretty helpful.
I cannot handle her as a teacher. She's taking math classes while teaching college algebra and it's very evident she doesn't know what she's talking about. She wants you to explain literally everything, literally if you said four divided by two was two she would ask you why. Overall, not a horrible prof, but I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
Awful awful awful professor. Always complains about all the classes she takes. She is very dull. Its a good thing I already knew everything she was teaching because I wouldn't have learned a thing from her.
Nice person, AWFUL Prof. Her teaching style for math is horrific and useless. She is taking other college classes right now and complains about it constantly. WOULD NOT RECOMEND.
This instructor is very frustrating! She will hand you worksheets, and say "okay figure out how to do it", and she expects you to use trial, and error which is a horrible method for learning math. She also will show you the WRONG way to do thing, and not tell you that until after the fact. If you take her get used to teaching yourself the material.
I did not like the way she taught. She is a nice lady but she would always contradict herself. I had to correct her multiple times and I'm not that smart. It was so confusing and she would literally teach us how to do problems incorrectly and then attempt to fix them, but end up having to start over. Don't do it.
One of the worst professors Ive had. If you understand math and can teach yourself, its okay, but, if you are a person who is a slower learner and needs extra help, DONT take her class. You dont need the book but there are always group projects and she does not answer your questions well. Lectures are very boring and long. Makes mistakes.
One of the worst professors I have ever had. She makes you watch videos that she does not make off youtube to learn the material and expects you to understand it right after that. She does everything online and class work is just busy work which does not help you at all. If you ask her a question she just answers with another question.
Very nice professor, but I HIGHLY do not recommend. Unorganized, makes mistakes in her assignments and instructions, and expects you to know material and spends no time in class teaching any of it, please avoid.
This professor expects you to do busy work and if you talk about anything not math related she will make rude comments and roll her eyes. makes a lot of mistakes on reviews and tells you the mistakes are the right way for the exam. On exams she makes you justify everything and if you don't she marks you down a ton of points.
I wouldn't advised anyone to take Professor Welling. She does not teach you any material, instead you watch videos of other people doing the topics on YouTube and do word documents as "notes" that are very unhelpful. She usually makes mistakes when she does explain things and will try to correct herself. Test are hard because she did not teach it.
Terrible professor, I would not recommend her to ANYONE. You have to watch videos at home before class, and then spend the entire hour and 50 minutes doing busy work that doesn't help you for the test. I had to teach myself everything. She also makes a lot of mistakes while trying to explain things. She is also rude and hard to talk to.
Worst professor I have ever had. Extremely unclear about directions, often makes mistakes on assignments and while discussing material in class. Does not teach, assigns students to watch and learn from youtube videos she doesn't even make, and expects you to know it when you get to class. Please AVOID
She is terrible, I read that she was a great prof so I took her class but all I have experienced is no teaching in class and lots of homework outside class. She will sign three or four things at the same time and make many mistakes on the homework she is assigning. She also makes mistakes on tests. She also talks very slow-making it hard to focus.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS. I took this class after taking advanced math all throughout high school hoping it would just be a refresher and now I'm failing. Welling does not give notes, doesn't give real assignments, and expects you to know everything for tests despite not teaching. Impossible grader. Only online quizzes and homework.
If you are in the hybrid class, theres a lot of assignments due weekly. Its kind of hard to keep track. We also meet weekly online but you only have to attend 4 of those sessions. We take tests in class. She does put a lot of time to try to make sure every body knows what their doing however shes a little confusing at times
She was a very sassy professor who was a very messy teacher. The things we did in class never made sense and never helped me understand things. The homework online is hard and not related to the class work and she often enter things wrong and has to fix it. Get a tutor and go to the mat center and you can learn it better on your own. & YouTube vids
Just no bueno.
For MTH110, She is the best professor to have. Her lectures are a bit sloppy and she requires a good amount of participation outside of class, but other than that her class is amazing. Her grading criteria is so good and easy that it almost makes this class an easy A. You can use notes on every single quiz/ test.
Professor welling is genuine and kind. Just show up to class and participate.
personally did not do well in this class, the explanations over class assignments were just not it. she didnt do a very good job explaining and just expected you to know things. Also not very understanding..
Professor Welling is extremely unorganized with how she sets up homework. You have multiple assignments due weekly along with a pre class before every class. Her "checkpoints" are confusing and if you do not turn them into her and online you get no credit. She does not care if something happened or it fell through. DO NOT take this professor.
Absolutely do not take this professor. She uses mastery grading, which is BEYOND confusing. She also ignored all of the emails I sent during the semester regarding the material. She requires you to turn in checkpoints in person + online, refusing to grade if one is not turned in. The class was confusing. she was NOT good at explaining the material.
Sloppy, all over the place, grading is confusing.
I loved professor Welling! She was a little bit all over the place, but in the best way. She is very lenient and allows late passes for assignments. She uses mastery grading, which is confusing but basically ensures you will get a good grade as long as you put in the smallest amount of effort.
Bethany is not clear about expectations from day one. She does mastery grading, so you will never really know what your grade is in the class. She doesn't seem to care about her students or her students' success. I would not recommend taking this class.
Her tests weren't difficult and you are allowed to do corrections. You won't know your actual grade until after every "Checkpoint" but I also feel like her grading makes it easier for you to do decent. She is not very clear about schedules. She sometimes changes things and does not update them on documents and rarely makes announcements.
Bethany is not a helpful or fair teacher. She doesn't answer questions and her grading makes no sense. Don't take her class.
She is not clear about grading and she is extremely ADHD. She does not do a good job of staying focused on one unit. When she grades she changes the way she grades without telling her students. If you think shes doing a question wrong, QUESTION HER
If you love unclear grading and a professor that has severe ADHD, this is the class for you! Its a class where there is convoluted quizzes and busywork. You would be better off taking math online.
fine professor harsh grader though, some stuff was hard to master but overall she was fine a little passive but nice at sometimes
Poor instructions
You knew she was going to start yelling, but you just didn't know when. Halfway through the semester, she started getting really annoyed with my class about not asking her questions, and instead asking other students questions. If only she realized that we weren't asking her questions because we didn't want to deal with her passive aggro. attitude.
Professor Welling is not a good instructor. She is all over the place, and can never focus on one thing. She uses mastery grading which I ended up liking. Her class is easy overall, but be prepared to learn the material from randomly assigned YouTube videos. Also, she becomes very skeptical when her students are actually doing well in her class.
Very much disliked this professor and wouldn't recommend. She is VERY disorganized. Her class is mainly online work with busy work in class. Her grading does not make sense and she gives little to no feedback.
Class is easy and grading is based off of mastery which is nice/makes it easy to pass. Besides that she is very unorganized and does not even remember what she taught us the week previous. I would not have her as my professor again.
Super sweet lady but did not do that great at teaching material. I often left confused and learned more through youtube videos. Repeated herself a lot and wasn't very clear on how to solve problems. Attending class is useless tbh.
Tough grader but she is doing that to make you better. some of the things she would dock me on points is because she wants you to nail the basic minuet details overall she pushed me to be better. She explains in class pretty well includes an understandable amount of homework and pre chapter videos. My grade was a 99.94%
not my favoritr
Avoid this professor at all cost. She doesn't teach in class and all we get is busy work and she gives out checkpoints every week that a 60 percent of your grade. Never reads emails, says she can change how she runs her class wether it's on the syllabus or not. If you are doing good in the class be prepared because she'll assume you're cheating too
She assigns pre-classes before every class and expected you to teach yourself the topics instead of her. She does weekly checkpoints that she grades very hard. Overall avoid the class
Kind of all over the place but overall a fair professor, welling wants her student's to succeed. Uses mastery grading which can be confusing at first but allows room for mistakes.
It was very confusing to know exactly what she wants us to do. At the beginning of the semester I always missed assignments because it was so unclear when things where do and what was supposed to be done. She is very all over the place, however is definitely willing to answer any questions.
Avoid this professor to the best of your ability. She's unorganized, she never checks her emails, and she'll assume you're cheating if you're doing well in the class. She never taught us anything but gave us busy work and YouTube videos to watch on what we were learning. Never in a million years would I take this course again.
If you can, avoid this professor. She is unorganized and doesn't answer emails. She barely “taught” in class and it was more just group work and YouTube videos to teach ourselves. We had pre class assignments due before we even got introduced to the lesson. The class isn't hard to pass but she uses master grading so your grade is always changing.
The professor was hit-or-miss, but I found tools like Unstuck AI helpful for study prep. Attend class, do the work, and you'll manage the tricky grading.
Professor Welling was ok. If you struggle with math like I do go to her office hours and she will help you. Make sure you do her test corrections to help improve your grade. If you do test corrections too then that'll improve your grade and you won't have to do the final exam if you don't want to and are happy with your grade.
Worst professor in my life. She doesn't even know when she is doing problems wrong. Every single day, she messed up on AT LEAST 5 problems. She doesn't make any sense and wasn't helpful at all. definitely don't recommend her class if you value your sanity.
This was the worst class. I don't even think the prof knew what she was talking about, and she would send you on your way with YouTube videos to teach yourself. There were quizzes every week-60% of your grade and rarely responds to emails. It wasn't hard to pass as she uses mastery grading but your grade changes every day bc of it- kinda stressful.
She doesn't help or teach anything, she's very hard grader
Unbelievably awful. She would get her own problems wrong 90% of the time, give you work without explaining, and then when she does explain, she's all over the place with it. Almost all work given is through pre-class assignments+youtube videos of her or other people doing a worksheet. Weekly checkpoints too. Easy to pass, VERY hard to understand.
3-5 hours of homework a week and a two hour lecture and she is awful
She doesn't know the answers to her own questions that she is asking. She also makes a lot of mistakes when solving problems and the class will point it out, and she always has typos on worksheets. Assigns so much pre class work and doesn't like to help when you ask a question, she will tell you to ask your classmates instead.
My math professor often makes mistakes while solving problems, mixing up numbers and losing focus. She treats the class like middle school with color-coded tables and forced group answers. The workload is heavy with lots of homework and portfolio tasks. She needs more organization and confidence in her math.
She is not very good, she comes to class in a bad mood most of the time. She also does her grading on where SHE thinks you are at not if you get things right or wrong. She gets her own problems wrong in class and also messes up on her lectures. You need to go to class or else you wont get participation points for that week which you can't make up.
Overall, she gives a ton of work, expects homework weekly, it can be time-consuming. Additionally, she grades on a Proficient/Almost Proficient/Not Proficient scale, not a percentage or letter grade. At the end of the semester, she offers something that is super helpful for your grade but expect a checkpoint (basically a quiz) every week.
