So, I am a LMT so I basically already learned all this stuff, she is clear in her directions on what to do, but AVOID ONLINE!!! WWWAAAYYYYY too much unnecessary work, and her tests cover 4 chapters at a time, with tons of info to memorize, overall not too bad, but the amount of work per week is kind of frustrating, especially the wileyplus ques.
Im taking her online, NOW. And I am in tears. There is just waay too much work gives us. Our first exam was 91 questions. I really feel as though she set us up to fail because her welcoming email wasnt so welcoming. If you can please avoid taking her.
avoid taking her! she thinks that her class is the only class you are taking with all the work that she gives. online? forget about it. register early next semester if you have to take this class online. i am not asking for easy, but this is unbearable. really it is. i agree with the other comments. i am struggling every week to finish the work
In plain words,shes a word that i am not allowed to say. She gives you tons of work, mind u, the body system has a lot of detail that we have to learn, the test was 91 questions, and she gives u 1 day, on a fri, when testing center closes early,i took it online bc i work 2jobs,most ppl take online bc they have lives, DDDUHHH lady!!! Her class consist of 3 test!! And they often cover 4 to 5 chapters. She gives a ton of work that are often not even in the exams. If you ask her a question she often confuse you more. And her grading rubic is more confusing than the GRE which I'm currently studying for. good luck if you registered for her
WAY TOO MUCH HOMEWORK, ESPECIALLY FROM WHILEY PLUS. RIDICULOUSLY AMOUNT OF HOMEWORK. 3 TEST ON 4-5 CHAPTERS EACH.
This Class is impossible! Don't take her!!!! 3 hard exams. And the crazy work load she gives are not even in the exams.She does gives a study guide for each exam. But it's useless she don't even ask you questions from it.
Do Not take this class with this teacher, unbearable! She responds to peoples discussion posts rudely and she is extremely confusing! The information is all over the place and her syllabus/schedule does not even contain all the assignments that are due. If you take the online class you still have to go to the campus to take the exams on Blackboard.

She has a very odd way of being rude through her grade comments and emails, if that's even possible. The work load is a lot one week and then very little the next. Test are extremely hard and question that are not related to A/P are asked.
This professor is hard. Do not take her if you have other options. Her expectations are way too high. Lots of homework. Tough lab exams. Useless labs. She also wants you to know everyone in the class..I feel like I'm in high school again.
Nice professor but EXTREMELY HARD.(I had her Spring 2012.) Our first exam 28/30 students failed. By the final exam we had 12 students left in class. If you take her u better know ur stuff inside and out. attend class and READ book.

Workload unreasonable, 4 VERY, VERY, hard exams(4-6 chp per test) plus Final. Test review sheets might as well memorize every word in the text book! 2hr test for 100-200 questions(only some multbl choice) UNREASONABLE!
Clearly not good at teaching! I did terrible in her class cause of unreasonable expectations & unnecessary info. in tests/labs. Exams are impossible, even a physician could fail them. Stickler on spelling. I got a D & currently retaking with different teacher who thinks she's nuts! Says she goes way overboard & not reasonable for scope of class.

This class with Mrs. Brantley is difficult because she does not explain the material. She said she is resource not a teacher. She has multiple assignments due all at once, and her tests consist of a lab practical and a lecture exam. but learn visibly she gives you a lot of resources that will help you learn.
Please do not take her if you want a A in A&P II. She does not explain the material. She gives out assignment and wants you to do all of them at one. If you take this class, prepare to do work
Labs and Assignments are not hard but TESTS are very hard. Practice tests she recommends do not help much. Study study study. Bio is not an easy class to begin with. Do not take this professor if expecting an easy class.
She is a TERRIBLE teacher. Stay away at all costs!!! Impossible tests and takes at least 3 weeks to grade your assignments.I have a Masters in health and struggled in this class.
Had due dates marked wrong on multiple assignments and changed them to earlier dates with one days notice before new due date. Extreme amount of repetitive homework/ assignments. Very long, confusing test questions. Not very friendly in emails/ messages.

She is very unreasonable.Does not understand the concept of online learning. She will not help you if you have any questions. Assigments are ok, however test are extremely hard. This lady should definitely get fired from VCC.Lots of people end up dropping her class simply because she can't teach.She is basically stealing from you thru her salary.
The absolute WORST teacher I have EVER had. If you're trying to get into nursing school, DO NOT take this professor. You WILL NOT get an A. Her tests are absolutely ridiculous, and she is no help at all when you ask her questions. Easily the hardest class ever, and I made an A in A&P1. DO NOT TAKE!!!
Do NOT take this course online with her. She is of no help. Assignments are ok but time consuming. Tests are impossible. Her study guides are useless; there are a lot of things on the tests that are not on the guides. Each test covers 4-5 chapters and contains roughly 100 questions each. Reviews are right, don't take her class even if it's the only open one. I will tell you how I got a B. Get good grades on the weekly assignments(google is your friend). Memorize the picture labs. 2-Test time, answer every single question on the study guide in great detail and memorize. Expect 15-20 pages typed per guide
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I had to drop the class. It's almost impossible to get a decent grade and I work hard. The classwork is absolutely ridiculous and tedious. The first test was a doozy. I would have rather dropped her class than ruin my gpa. No no no.
Worst instructor I've ever had. Every test I had problems with because she gave testing center wrong passwords, and then to retake an exam where the images where wrong (school computer error) I had to drive to west campus. Not helpful at all and does not want you to succeed. Crazy amount of useless unhelpful busy work.
Absolutely DO NOT TAKE CLASS!!!! Don't be tempted that it is an online class. Too much useless homework given that does not appear on test. Teacher is not helpful nor reasonable. Makes you study over 50 structures to only put 4 on test. For the safety of your GPA and your sanity stay far away from this professor
Absolutely the worst class and professor that I have ever had. She assigns alot of busy work that is useless in the exams. She sends out a review prior to the exam but useless when it came to the exam. She is not reasonable or helpful. I have taken online classes prior to this class and I would not recommend this to anyone unless you want to fail.
This was the worst!!! at the end of the semester we had 4 people in the class. It was soo much work I had no time to asorb the material. This is a self taught class. THe exam was RIDUCULOUS Dont take her if you want to pass the failure rate is high and expect to fail. And she was useless of no help take her class expect to fail.
DO NOT USE THIS TEACHER!!!! I am currently a working Paramedic/Firefighter and should have found this class relatively easy. NOT EVEN CLOSE!! The workload for this "online" class is RIDICULOUS!!! Unnecessary assignments, impossible tests. Tests taken at Valencia ONLY, not online. Should be labeled a hybrid/horrible class. No make up tests.
I studied my butt off and still couldn't do as well as I know I should have. The most ridiculously toughest tests that I have EVER taken. I could swear this was a sophomore class but it felt more like I was going for medical school. I enjoyed the teacher for the most part but the class was through the roof difficult.
Betsy is a great teacher. A&P is not an easy subject and there is a lot of information crammed into a small amount of time. You will have to work very dilagently to make an A in this class. This is not an easy class by any means. Betsy does give extra credit throughout the semester and all exams have a large extra credit section.
She's a good teacher and explains a lot but you have a test every Thursday for those taking bio without lab and gives out reviews to study for test but you would have to do further reading in the book in order to pass and no Makeup test no matter what and doesnt give out study guide for final exam either so goodluck tests are hard.
Prof. Brantley is a great teacher. She is always walking around during lab and explains everything you need. very willing to stay late to help or has plenty of well defined office hours. If you expect to go and not apply yourself then you will not pass. Tough course.
Betsy is a good teacher; however, you must be committed and actively participate in the class. She goes over a ton of material each class and you will not do well if you skip classes. She puts up reviews for each exam; however each exam is quite tough and you will only pass if you've put in the effort. She does give chances for extra credit.
She didn't even teach, just reverberated the textbook via powerpoint. She would hyper focus on one portion of a section , but it would just be 5% of the test. You basically had to teach yourself, no insight or anything that would lead to an "aha" moment for you as a student. Definitely had favorites too. Terrible teacher.
Professor Brantley was awesome! Took her hybrid class last fall & I wasn't at all prepared for the A&P pace but when I noticed I wasn't getting the grades I wanted I asked for help and she would stay late after labs for a small group of us that were struggling. She's passionate and she really wants you to learn! STUDY and an A is totally possible!
she is a great teacher, but be ready to study! the class it's self is hard but she explains it very well and gives tons of extra credit throughout the semester! I took anatomy and physiology 1 with her, planning on taking the second part with her also! test are hard but lab practical's are easy! I got a c because I am slow but she is great!
Prof. Brantley is very passionate about science & cares about her students. If you need help with the material or you're going to miss a class, she is more than willing to work with you, but you have to earn her respect first. A&P is a hard class no matter who your teacher is, & if you don't want to study you should probably reconsider your major.
She does not work with you unless she likes you so make a good impression on her and show her you care about doing well in the class. Do not miss any of her classes, you won't ever be able to make anything up. Make sure to do the assignments on Mastering. Sometimes there are like 80 questions a chapter so do not wait until the last minute.
Professor Brantley seems great for the first two weeks then after that it turns all to hell. She goes through chapter lectures so fast you don't have time to really understand the material. Her quizzes are almost impossible. She drops three but still - half of my class dropped the course. Her tests are almost impossible to get good grades on.
If you're looking for a professor that will stress the material, this is the instructor for you. She does go in-depth with her teaching, but you may find yourself after school asking many questions. The material is also tested on a quiz as soon as you come back, so you have to be prepared at all times. Lastly, do not be absent, you will be lost.
Class is relatively easy if you allocate some time for it. Everything you need for the exams are on the study guide. Don't even bother with the textbook, it's garbage. Just use the powerpoints she provides and flashcards and you should be golden. The professor herself is pretty average, but she's friendly. Gives quizzes almost every class.
Don't take this class if you want to pass. Teacher makes you feel stupid for asking questions, as if you should have known the material for years. Also, if you plan on taking this class, I hope you dont work or take any other classes at the same time. Tests are fill in the blanks and no words to choose from. If you misspell a word it will be wrong.
she's such a nice teacher person but she's really bad at teaching. my grade dropped after every quiz/test i took, no matter how many hours i spent studying. i had to drop the class.
Very caring professor. This class is not easy but if you put in the work you will pass. Every time you meet for lecture you will have a pop quiz on the past lecture. Drop lowest 3 quizzes. Gives extra credit. She is friendly and always available.
I had Professor Brantley for A&P 1 & 2. Not easy by any means, however she makes learning this material fun and interesting. If you are going into the medical field you will love how in depth she is. She is very helpful and flexible. Drops 3 quizzes and gives many opportunities for EC. She replaces your lowest test grade with your final.
Do not let these positive reviews fool you; they are probably written by her. Only take this class if you have photogenic memory and are ready to memorize everything done in lab. I regret not listening to these reviews. If you care about your GPA, dont take this class EVEN IF ITS THE ONLY CLASS LEFT!!!!!! You have been warned..
Professor Brantley is not teaching an easy class by any means. If you are trying to find an easy A type of professor for A&P you should probably change your major. She gives you a study guide before each test. There is a ton of homework and it is definitely a very hard class but she is there to help you. She is incredibly detailed in her lectures!
Prof Brantely is AMAZING! I EARNED an A in her course and I actually learned something in AP2, unlike AP1 since I had a different prof. I wish I had her for both. It's a lot of work. There's a lot to cover but it's A&P, get used to it. There is a lot of assignment and practices due but is to help you learn and recall the information. TAKE HER.
Professor Brantley's class is definitely not easy, but what are you expecting from an A&P class? Pay attention, read the book, take notes, and actually do the work and you'll get an A. She drops a couple of grades, gives extra credit opportunities, and gives a study guide for every test. An A is very obtainable, you just have to work for it.
Prof Brantley is very nice and means well, and truly wants her students to learn the material. Let's be real though, the amount of homework, quizzes and extra assignments (ungraded) are OVERLY excessive (10+ per week total). A&P is tough without all the extra work. If you don't have 20+ hrs per week to do hw, don't take this class. VERY HARD.
This was the HARDEST class I have ever taken. Not bc A&P is hard, but bc Brantley has an INSANE amount of hw and grades very hard. Luckily, I have a photographic memory and did very well on the lab exams. If you do not have a photographic memory or 20 hrs per week to spend on HW then DO NOT TAKE. I am warning you.
Took her this summer and yea there was a lot of assignments but those assignments made learning the material easier.I also took her during the summer which meant a faster pace!But its a science course and by taking her and using the amazing tools in the online book like APR I feel more knowledgeable than I expected and prepared for the future!
I took her A&P I class in the summer term so it was fast-paced. A&P is not an easy subject and you really need to study as much material as you can. It was also a hybrid course so the bulk of learning was up to the student. But if there are concepts that you can't grasp, she is very much willing to help simplify it so you can understand it fully.
Mann look just finished this class summer 2020 and this class is NOT for the weak. Study and finesse . ALOT of assignments but it helps out with your grade and remembering info. This class took everything out of me. Still got an A though cause its doable . I would say dont take her again but she alright . She lays out EVERYTHING for the test.
I wish I would have listened to RMP before taking Professor Brantley. If you have a job, even part time you WILL struggle with the amount of hours you need to dedicate to this class alone. Professor Brantley is very blunt in her feedback for assignments and is a very tough grader. I honestly would not take her again even if she was the last option.
Brantley means well but she includes too much excessive information that it makes it really difficult to have a good understanding of most topics covered. She grades subjectively and does not provide study guides for tests. Do not take this class if you have a full course load or a job.
Do not take this class, especially online. During the middle of a pandemic and recession she assigned way too much homework for one week & one of the 8-10 assignments she assigns have a duration that is set for 2-3 hours! She clearly has no regard for peoples lives such as if they work or have other courses. She does not give study guides either.
She gave a lot of homework. Her lab/tests was very hard. Even though I studied for the tests It still wasn't good enough. She had no consideration for the students who had full time jobs as well as other classes. The zoom lectures are mandatory but useless. No study guides were provided. I would not take her again.
This was the hardest course I've ever took. I HAD TO WITHDRAW! Her teaching style isn't great even during a pandemic, she doesnt teach properly. We basically have to teach ourselves the detailed 300 slide powerpoints and every weekly zoom meeting she calls on us and goes over the "most important" half of the stuff she goes over isnt even on test
This class is challenging & has lots of work. But all the assignments truly helped me learn and know the material. She narrows down a thick textbook to what you really need to know, and her tests are pretty easy and straightforward. She is always available to help (even on holidays she responds to emails).
the professor exam are almost if not completely all written answer very few question are multiple choices , if you misspell something by one letter she does not even give you have of the point, send a lot of work lab with a lot case scenarios question an when you answer all the she write on the comment is "sort of" or "lots more to explain" .
This has been my third science-heavy class and second anatomy class. Professor Brantley seems nice, but the amount of work she gives per week is outrageous. It's honestly too much work to retain enough information, especially when you have other classes and a job and family. Also, the exams are the majority of your grade. Do not recommend.
Whatever you do, don't take this course. I'm finishing this class with a D and having to re-take it over the summer, should have withdrawn while I could. This professor will give you over 10 assignments to complete a week, 4 exams for the whole semester and if you bomb one, there goes your whole grade. Rarely any opportunities to save your grade.
I signed up for a 100% online course this summer which according to the course description meant I wasnt have any zoom classes. However she had mandatory weekly zoom meetings at inconvenient times Do not take this class unless you can dedicate 20 hours a week to it which is the MINIMUM she wants you to spend on it. Grading is very strict
Even though it is an online course you are required to attend a zoom session. The zoom sessions were at unacceptable times & you do receive a grade for them. The times are not given until you are registered in the class. The exams are mainly open ended questions and very few multiple choices. The work load for this course was huge compared to AP I.
WORST TEACHER EVER! Not only is she rude, but she is not helpful AT ALL. Very rudely sarcastic when replying to emails. Give a lot of homework and labs that has nothing to do with the actual test. Her zoom meetings are not beneficial whatsoever. Literally had to reteach myself which was a waste of my time. She should be a torturer not a professor.
This is the WORST professor ever. She gives more work than you can imagine. Cant study b/c feedback is vague(she'll say review ch.3 -THATS IT). You have so much work weekly that you won't have time to study. Tests are extremely hard. It was online zoom, and she made a mandatory class meeting. I gave benefit of doubt. STAY AWAY honestly. BAD IDEA.
I took Professor Brantley for A&P I & A&P II. Here's what to expect from her: mandatory 1hr long zoom session 1x a week, just be there and ask questions if you're confused. Hefty amount of hw & tests use honorlock & are mostly written- which is GOOD if you're entering the medical field. Extremely thorough grader & responds fast. Very caring prof :)
If you have the dilemma of delaying your academic career and taking this class, delaying it will be better for your future. The good reviews are not real. There is a lot of material, but she makes it impossible to try to comprehend with the amount of work. You will have almost 20 assignments weekly and each assignment takes 3 hours minimum.
I was reading the reviews for Professor Brantley and it seems like those who rated her poorly were not expecting, or wanting, to put in that much work. I think this course is very fair and the grade you receive reflects the amount of work you put into this class. I loved taking professor Brantley's course, and received an A on every single exam.
This was the worst college professor that I've ever experianced. She is very rude and doesn't seem to want her students to succeed. 20-30 homework assignments are assigned weekly (no exaggeration) and she does not accept any late work--no matter the circumstance. Students are forced to cram in information and are only referred to tutors. Dont Take!
Exams are in person and use honor lock. The exams are all fill-in-the-blank/no-word bank and spelling counts and are extremely difficult. Exams have 150-180 questions. I had to drop the course due to how badly I struggled. She also gives a quiz every week which is on paper in class. And 10-15 assignments a week. 10/10 don't recommend her.

You have to memorize everything on the tons of homework to past every test. No good feedback because she will only tell you to review the chapters, instead of giving the right answers to study.
she doesn't help with connect issues and only offers to drop the lowest grade if you miss anything but test. she assigns overwhelming homework (a lot) The test comes out every 2 weeks with 4 chapters each. She is strict, offering no leniency for emergencies sickness or anything else even if you have an issue with your canvas system. AVOID HER CLASS
There are a lot of complaints about how much homework betsy brantley gives out. Those assignments are to help you learn the information, anatomy class is alot of information and it's not one of those classes that you just breeze through. Professor Brantley is a great teacher and helps you learn what you need for your career in the Healthcare field
doesn't give multiple choice quizzes or tests at all, doesn't take late work, if you misspell something u will not get the point, doesn't provide study guides or outlines for exams. Exam grades are worth so many points with no chance of making it up if u fail. bombs ur whole grade. Workload is insane and impossible for anyone to memorize all that.
CHOOSE ANOTHER PROFESSOR! Just look at her rating. Half of your grades will be based off her EXTREMELY HARD EXAMS. Too much busy work is given, which takes away from reading and studying. Her exams are 10 to 15 percent multiple choice, followed by fill in the blank, select all that apply and a lot of short answers. MAJORITY FAIL.

Took both Anatomy classes with Brantley. It is a tough course but definitely can get a decent grade if you study and pay attention to lectures/ask questions. Utilize all resources available for study including connect and APR quizzes, you will pass if you study these regularly. Loved her class, she is willing to help if you ask!
I wouldn't recommend her course. Super work-heavy and only 5-10 points per assignment/home quiz. Spelling always counts, no multiple choice or word banks on exams/ quizzes. Only fill in the blanks or matching. Weekly quizzes, no late work accepted. Some extra credit but barely. I've had 15 assignments due in just one week. & Cumulative final.
There is very little time to review each chapter before quizzes and tests. Exams and quizzes are extremely difficult, written responses must be very detailed, and even small spelling errors count against you. She grades very harshly, and it was so hard to earn a good score even when I understood completly BEWARE!!!
do not take her unless it is your last option. she genuinely had me tweaking ngl. she is very test heavy and spelling counts like?? literally 70 questions and only 2 are multiple choice. if you take her you better have enough time to study bc your grade is based on your test scores.
