Watching Betsy teach is like watching Tiger Woods play golf. Well, Tiger swears a lot more but you get the idea!An incredibly gifted teacher, she is the best I have ever seen at teaching difficult concepts. Dr Longley is an adequate teacher. She is often behind on grading assignments and you won't learn everything she has to teach if you don't show up to exam reviews. She is fair when the mistake is hers but doesn't show much mercy if it is yours. There is a quiz each class session and she requires that you read the book but it seems unnecessary.

There aren't big assignments, about 13 homeworks and weekly pre and post lab quizzes. You can't miss more than one lab, but you can do them early, you just can't make them up!

Even though I got a C (my own fault due to missing so many classes, so I didn't understand the material), I can easily say that I recommend Betsy for a chem instructor! Honestly Besty is really nice. You are able to have 2 late tickets and you have a week to do all the assignments for the week and on average there are only 5, and if you do the textbook reading and watch the videos online you are able to ace this class. It honestly up to you to make or break your grade.

Betsy has always been a good teacher even when I took her for CHEM1020 and now with this class. She is always there to help and genuinely wants you to succeed. The lectures are not mandatory, but they do help bring things together. Labs are mandatory but have makeup times if you miss some.

If you need a lab credit, take this course! Betsy was an awesome professor, love the way she runs the course even if Chemistry isn't your thing. The hybrid course was easy to manage, and attendance wasn't mandatory for class. If you miss a lab there's only one lab per makeup before each exam. If you do the work, you should get the credit easily.

I took Professor Longley's class online, so i never got to meet her in person, but i can tell shes a very caring and understanding professor. she allows 2 late tickets for reading assignments or labs and there's maybe 3-4 assignments a week if you take her online. all the lessons were fun and engaging and very easy to follow. 100% recommend

Betsy was the best professor I have ever had! Material can be challenging, but she makes it make so much sense and provides everything you need in order to succeed and comprehend the material. As long as you do the homework, show up, and do the extra practice, you'll be fine! You can tell she loves what she does and really cares about her students.
