She goes VERY fast during lecture. (but know what she's talking about)Her study guides have blanks so you can't focus on her talking, but on filling in the blanks. She will help you if you ask questions. She doesn't give study guides!!!There is so much information and you don't know what to focus on. If there's another professor, dont take her

If you don't know much about this stuff before the class and want to have any chance at getting a decent grade, I suggest a tutor. She flies through material, does not take time to step through it slowly, and won't answer many outside questions. She has no study guides. Take another teacher if you can. If not, be ready to study A LOT!
She flys through the material. The test is only over the lecture notes so the book is not needed, but it is helpful so hold off on selling it from 161. She is really sweet and awnsers questions after class. Good luck in lab, the muscular test is a killer.
Make notecards off of each slide she presents in class. It takes a little time, but you'll get an easy A with flashcards. Betsy is a nice person with a good sense of humor.
Great lady! She's got a quirky sense of humor and makes funny comments during the reproductive sections haha. The class is not that hard, but there is a lot of info. You can drop one test, and there's a little extra credit. The grade is based on a few quick assignments, the test grades, and lab grade. she showed us a 3D ultrasound pic of her baby
i loved her! she gave 6 tests (which made less material on each test) and dropped the lowest one.. she allowed time after class for discussion and questions.. tests came straight from notes (which she provided online in powerpoint form and filled in the blanks in class).. overall, she was very helpful and made the material easy to understand!!!
She's a pretty good teacher. She doesn't give a study guide, but if you read the notes and skim through the book or make note a cards you will be ok.
There is a lot of information and she flies through the notes and we usually cover about a chapter each time we have class. She never responds to emails if you have questions. But the exam questions are taken from the notes that she posts online and if you study a good amount and make notecards, you should do fine.
Shes a really good teacher. you print power points and fill in the blanks in class. 6 tests in lab, 2 in lecture, drop lowest lecture exam (not 6th tho) tests 50qs but taken out of 45...you have to study a lot but if you do no reason why you wont get an A or B
Very nice, uses a lot of detail. Class has a lot of information but she drops your lowest exam so it manageable to get a high B low A as long as you put the effort in.
It is not hard to get an A in the class if you make it to lecture. 1 test out of 6 is dropped and they aren't too hard. I recommend her.
The class itself is very interesting. It is nice to get to see how our body really works and how we are put together as humans. She sometimes flys through the material if the hour class is almost over but overall the class is an easy B if you go to lecture evryday and fill in the note templates that she posts online and make flash cards.
SMART WOMAN. Alot of memorization and tons of notes....so be prepared for that. You have to be in class to get the notes. No coasting.....you actually need to study for this class or else fail in a heartbeat.
good teacher, you have to go to class. all the tests are made up of lecture notes. if it's in the book and she didn't go over it... it won't be on the test. a lot of work. i suggest making note cards... lots of information to know.
This class is a lot of work. She is a great teacher and very helpful. The textbook is rarely used only for lab for labeling. All tests are made up of notes from in class. If it wasn't gone over in class it won't be on the test. So my suggestion is to get the older version of the book because you will save tons of money!
Class is pretty hard. I ended up with an A but i worked really hard. The WHOLE class is memorizating. The class leaves very few room for questions, basically the point of class it to see how much information they can cram in your head at once. Class has a lot of good info but don't plan on floating by.
She loves what she teaches! She is a great teacher and very knowledgeable. This class is all memorizing and connecting ideas so it can be very difficult. She lets you drop one test out of five. You have to study for lab quizzes too. The book helped a LOT by connecting ideas and with study questions. She takes random attendance about 4 times.
i love dr. wargo. she teaches anatomy in an extremely helpful way. she feeds you power points so you will not have to read a scrap of the book, but studying is a complete must. she is helpful, nice and crazy knowledgeable. i was very impressed how she knew every little detail of each chapter. not the easiest A, but not difficult either.
This class requires a lot of studying and work but Wargo is very helpful and makes the material very interesting! She gives opportunities multiple times during the semester for extra credit!
She is very easy to listen to in lectures. She really makes the material easy to learn. The tests are slightly difficult and require studying but if you attend the lectures you will have no problem! Highly recommend her!
She is incredibly passionate about teaching anatomy and really wants you to understand it. She takes difficult concepts and relates them to real life scenarios to make them more understandable. She gives powerpoint notes with blanks that are filled in during lecture, so showing up for lecture is important. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
Wargo is a fantastic professor, she takes the time to answer every question and to make sure you understand it. She also has a lot of helpful tips for remembering the information. The only negative part is that her tests are fairly specific so studying after every lecture is a must!
She is awesome and completely willing to help you with any questions if she doesn't explain everything clearly the first time, however, she knows how to explain things perfectly. Love her and please take this class!! Just study!
I have had Dr. Wargo for both BSC 181 and 182 she is an excellent teacher who knows her material and presents it in an entertaining way, often using simple examples to make the complex subject matter more understandable. Her tests are not impossible but do require lots of studying and abstract application.
Horrible professor. One of the most inconsiderate people I have ever met, and does not accommodate to anyone. Her tests are all based on power points, and you never even use the "required" textbook that is super expensive. Unfortunate she is the only anatomy teacher on campus. Very disappointed.
Betsy is the only anatomy teacher, so basically you are stuck with her regardless of what we all right. She is extremely monotone, and she actually DOES NOT present the material in an interesting manner. However, it is possible to do well as her tests are strictly from notes. Put in time and get an A. You need the book for lab image labeling.
Her lecture are by far one of the most boring things I've ever had to experience. She is very monotone when she speaks. If you have a question she will answer it. The book isn't necessary, but it was helpful to get a better understanding of some of the things she talked about in lecture. She is just reeeeally boring in lecture.
I really liked having Dr. Wargo this semester. She is a very good professor and she was willing to help out and was quick to answer emails. The only thing that got on my nerves sometimes was that class was an 1 hour and 15 minutes and my attention went out the window after a period of time. Overall, she made this class interesting.
All I can say is good luck. Skip lecture and there's no hope for you passing. Get to drop one test, but the tests are impossible.
Dr. Wargo is a really good teacher and she's very funny, but her tests are very difficult and you MUST attend lecture or know someone who does. She gives you a fill in the blank notes packet and a loose exam guide for her tests, but you really need to study and make an effort in this class.
Dr. Wargo was a great teacher. Lectures were boring at times, but she always through in random jokes. Go to class and the tests will be easy as cake. highly recommend taking her classes
Dr. Wargo was a great Professor. Lectures can get boring, but you had to go to fill in the blank slides she gave for the exams. There is a lot of information to process, you can't expect to pass if you study a couple days before the exam. Study the slides and you'll be fine.
This class can be very difficult due to the large amount of material for each test. Be ready to study a few days prior to the exam, cramming all the night before will not cut it in this class. Class can drag on sometimes and seem long but professor Wargo does an excellent job explaining the material and she really knows what she is talking about.
Amazing teacher during the lectures and really relates hard concepts to easy rememberable ones but makes impossible quizzes. You have to start studying weeks in advance. Towards the end of the semester she starts to cram a lot of harder information into a short amount of time so good luck. Hardest class I've taken so far.
Professor Wargo is very descriptive with her lectures and does a great job explaining the material. While there is a lot of material to cover, it is manageable and the tests are all set up the same way. The book was not necessary to have but it is necessary to attend lecture in order to do well in this course.
Awesome professor!!! Betsy is very knowledgable and makes things easy to understand. There are a lot of tests but they are all structured the same so if you figure out how to study for them you should be good throughout the class. Extra credit is given also to help boost your grade. Professor Wargo is also very funny! Would recommend!!!!!
Professor Wargo seems like a wonderful lady, but her class is definitely very hard. She posts very long blank power points for you to fill in on Reggienet and you are expected to know everything on those power points for the test. I start studying a week in advance for tests. If you work hard you can get a good grade.
Betsy is an amazing teacher and does her best to convey hard material in an understandable manner. There are 6 exams, and the lowest one is dropped, but the exams are pretty hard. You have to be willing to study A LOT for this class if you want a good grade. There aren't very many points so it's important to stay on top of things from the beginning
Dr. Wargo is a great professor. I went in to her office hours and she showed she genuinely cared and was very helpful. The class can be difficult or easy. If you study a few nights before you won't succeed. I got a high A in her class but I studied a lot. Do all the assignments and extra credit and ask her for study tips and youll be fine.
She's a good professor the class is just really hard. If you do bad on a test don't think it will get better, you have to actively study and study A LOT. If you don't have to take the class, don't, not because she's a bad professor but because the material is so hard.
Very likely to fall asleep during class. Tests are hard
Betsy is the best. Her class is difficult in general, but her tests are right off the slides. She's very kind and always willing to help. Her tests have a lot of content on them and it's very very important to study in advance. if you try to cram even a few nights before you will not pass.
Dr. Wargo is a great professor and knows what she is talking about. You must be willing to study ALOT for this class, start studying at least a week before the exams. Tests are straight off powerpoints- memorize everything and youll be fine. Didnt really use the text book. GO TO CLASS, she only gives notes in class and they are fill in the blank.
Betsy is a very good teacher. Anatomy is not an easy class, and you really do need to study at least a week in advance to get an A or a B on each exam. She does offer a good amount of extra credit, though.
Had her for BSC 181/182; overall okay teacher, it's just the lecture material that is so content-heavy. You really need to study for this class almost every day. Go over the slides every other night (from beginning-end) and you'll do perfectly fine on the tests! You don't need the book except for the digagrams, but you can find them online also.
You must attend class to be successful in this class. If you know EVERYTHING on the powerpoints, you will get A's on her tests. Very minimal homework assignments and no in class quizzes. She's a great teacher that has great real-life applications.
Terrible. Strict grading criteria. Does not round.
I took this course online over the summer, sooooo much easier than what I've heard the actual class to be like. Extra credit every week (5pts) and all material came off of PowerPoint. No book needed whatsoever. Definitely doable over the summer!
I am a straight A student, but I had to drop this class because I was failing. The lectures are extremely long and boring. The first exam was 2 packets which consisted of 183 slides on a powerpoint. Then there's only 50 questions on a exam where its half multiple choice & half short answer. She doesn't give partial credit. HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND.
Class is rough... no bones about that Haha. You have to study ALOT and work hard but you will actually learn. She is more than willing to help you out. All you have to do is go to her office and ask for it. She even gives out a ton of extra credit. If you can take her, Id do it.
Dr. Wargo is a great professor. The material she teaches is hard but she does a great job trying to explain it. If you do the work and actually study you will get an A. She has a great system and you know clearly when everything is due.
She is a PowerPoint teacher. She goes really fast on slides. Make sure you read the chapters, study a lot. She gives boring lectures.
Dr. Wargo does her best to make class interesting, but A&P can only be so interesting. She grades fairly and is always available by email or appointment. She gives extra credit for every exam. You don't have to go to class, but make sure you get the notes for the exams. The exams are tough, but if you study they aren't bad.
Wargo is a great professor, her class is just hard! Get ready to go to class and do a lot of outside studying. I suggest watching the Crash Courses, making your own study guides, and doing to homework more than once. Her lectures are powerpoints but they do help. She is very accessible if you are struggling and cares about your success.
I love Dr. Wargo! She teaches with powerpoints but it is possible to do really well on her tests if you do the homework and make study guides. She lets you see your test after you've taken it which helps on the extra credit at the end. Very quiet lecturer but is extremely knowledgeable and wants you to succeed!
GREAT TEACHER - took this online during COVID and she has a clear syllabus that is constant every week. Lots of homework but you learn a LOT. Extra Credit available some weeks. Very quick at responding and is very flexible/understanding! Every 2 weeks you have this due: homework, 2 assignments, a self & lab test and lecture evaluation tests.
I loved taking Anatomy with her. She is always willing to meet with you and if you show her that you are interested in doing well she will give you all the help you need. I never had any miscommunication with her and she adapts to changed well.
I didnt think this class was that bad, granted it was online due to COVID but she is a great orofessor and always made sure we had the material, we didnt use the book as the tests were over her powerpoint slides. The only downside is there was always alot of homework and stuff we had to do but other than that the material wasnt bad!
I took Dr. Wargo's Summer course which is essentially double the material in half the time, and even with that, it was not that tough of a course, as her notes are phenomenal. It is gonna feel weird taking 182 with double the time and half (hopefully) the work this upcoming Spring!
Quite frankly I never want to experience a class with her again. The class is nothing but outrageously time consuming busy work. Quite frankly, I never learned a thing and still managed to pass with an A because the entire class is quite literally a waste of time and again it is quite literally only busy work. Easy A. Worth it? No not at all.
This class was asynchronous, so I just reviewed and took notes on the slides independently, but her notes are incredible. The material was all very important and helped me learn a lot. The class is set up extremely well, and she was always available for help if needed. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wargo for anatomy.
One of the most boring professors to listen too in lecture since she talks monotone for an hour and 15min straight but other than that the class isn't too bad. Decent amount of hmwk but the tests are pretty difficult so it helps balance it out if you do bad. Her slideshows are exactly what's on the test though so study those and you'll be fine.
I mean, she's okay. Lectures were boring so I stopped going, which was fine because the exams are solely on her PowerPoints she has on reggienet. There are exams usually every 2 weeks, but it was a very organized class. I hated how the lecture and lab didn't line up though, so frustrating. She also gave a lot of busy work. But the class is doable.
She gave ENTIRELY TOO MUCH WORK. I'm not sure if she thought we were robots or something and didn't have other classes, but she pretty much gives as much work as if the course was entirely online, and it wasn't. Wayyyy too much work. I felt overwhelmed every week.
Dr. Wargo is a great professor for Anatomy. Her slideshows are unparalleled, and give you everything you need for the exams and to be successful in the class. There's a lot of busy work, but just do it, along with the extra credit, and getting an A becomes easy. Sometimes lab and lecture don't line up, which was the only annoying aspect. Easy A.
This class is VERY fast paced and there are lots of assignments to be done, but all of the assignments are pretty beneficial in my opinion. As long as you do all of the assignments, you should do fine in the class but you need to make sure to do all of them. She also has an extra credit assignment for every unit.
Professor Wargo is very organized and straight forward. The class has a lot of homework each week, but this means a lot of opportunities for points, so if you don't do well on a test you have a bit of a cushion. The lab quizzes are probably the hardest part but just make sure you study!! Overall I would highly recommend this professor for anatomy!
I have taken two courses with Wargo and she continues to be my favorite professor at ISU. There is a LOT of homework but it honestly saves your grade. It is so worth the time it takes because I would not have passed the class if it was only exams. She is also very kind and understanding when it comes to absences and missed assignments. Love her!
One of my favorite setups in how the class is presented. Dr. Wargo grades by each module-- so the class is not exam heavy. She posts lecture shells and PowerPoints so you can follow along with her lectures or make-up if you miss class. I recommend going to lecture because she is entertaining and has many memory tools to help you remember content.
PAY ATTENTION TO LECTURES! All of the assignments and exams come straight from the PowerPoints used for lecture. She posts them online, so you can do them in the comfort of your dorm. All the homework solidifies the lectures for the exam, and those grades will make up for a bad exam grade. Highly recommend.
Prof. Wargo gave us everything we needed to prepare for exams. Exams were difficult, but we were given multiple point opportunities through lots of homework, but it evens out your overall module grade. This was one of the most organized classes I have taken at ISU and I look forward to having Prof. Wargo again next semester for BSC182.
Great teacher, lots of extra credit opportunities, do your work and you will do well
Could not have asked for a better prof for this class. Her lectures were super detailed and thorough. The lab helps your lecture grade out in case you don't do well on the exams. Was very easy to contact for help throughout the class. Loved this prof!!!
No physical textbook, only online access code. Easily reachable by email. Lots of small assignments that have more impact on grade as tests. Don't NEED to go to lab-- only lab quiz days. Uses real life examples and tricks to help remember things. Module (generally similar every unit) grade matters more than test grades. Going to lecture helps.
Professor Wargo is a wonderful professor. She teaches content concisely and thoroughly with it being easy to understand. I would recommend this class and professor to anyone who needs or wants to take it.
Betsy=all time favorite professor. Both P&A 1 and 2 were easy because of her. She breaks things down in a simple way and her powerpoints help tremendously. There is quite a bit material, but she is usually an easy grader and the points fluff your test grades, as she averages your module's scores. Overall, I would take P&A again just to have her!
Betsy explained everything in great deal, and also provided tons of extra credit for us. She loves what she does and cares about her students. Would 100% recommend.
I love Betsy! She truly knows how to lecture and can make it interesting. There is a lot of busy work but it is really easy. Do all the extra credit opportunities, it will really make your grade. The exams can be hard but since there is so much busy work, it doesn't affect your grade much.
I liked Professor Wargo! She was very welcoming and gave clear grading criteria. There was quite a bit of homework, but she also had lots of extra credit opportunities. She pulled stuff from the textbook but mainly focused on PowerPoints and made the material easy to understand. I would recommend taking her BSC 181 if you have the chance!
Amazing and caring professor! Class was straightforward and doable. Lots of homework and prep work, but it is key for a good grade and to understand the material. Tests were every 2 weeks, but easy 30 multiple choice questions. Lots of extra credit and graded by lots of things to cushion your grade.
Even though there is a lot of busy work, this makes it so the test grades do not impact your grade as much. As long as you do the extra credit, discussion, and homework you will receive an A. Attendance is not mandatory but she does focus on test stuff and provide awesome explanations. She is a great professor and made anatomy easy!
Dr. Wargo is a great anatomy professor, she really helps everyone learn complicated anatomy subjects by using a lot of metaphors and imagery. There is a lot of heavy homework and studying involved. She offers a lot of extra credit and I recommend to take all of the opportunities because it's 5 extra points each time for a little bit of work.
Dr. Wargo is an amazing professor. She gives great content in class and lots of resources for further learning outside of class. There are multiple opportunities to gain extra credit and there are a lot of points. Her canvas page is immaculate and extremely easy to navigate. I would 100% recommend Dr. Wargo.
Dr. Wargo is the best professor I have ever had. I took BSC 181 and 182 with her. She is incredibly organized: each unit has a discussion board, online homework, a practice test, an extra credit assignment, and a test. Lots of points! She loves answering questions after class and explains difficult concepts in ways that are easy to understand.
Dr. Wargo is a PHENOMENAL professor! She is truly so knowledgeable and caring. Her Canvas site is literally perfect and easy to navigate. There are a few homework assignments, but nothing crazy and they all truly contribute to course knowledge in preparation for exams. After having Dr. Wargo all year, I can confidently say I will miss her!
Betsy is such a sweet lady! Her class is very easy to navigate and it is clear what will be on the exams! There are quite a few hw assignments but if you do they with effort they'll make the exams easy!
I have taken professor Betsy for BSC 181 and BSC 182 and I have nothing but good things to say about her. Her canvas page is organized and easy to navigate through. Her lecture is just top notch. The examples she uses to explain anatomy makes so much sense. Aside from being an amazing instructor, she really cares about her students. I recommend her!
Dr. Wargo is one of the best professors here at ISU! Even though the topics can be difficult, she provides mnemonic devices that make it easy to understand. There is a lot of homework which includes multiple choice questions and discussion posts but these make the exams so much easier. Highly recommend!
Dr. Wargo has a very clear outline for the course, and it is very helpful. She is also very easy to reach outside of class, and is very helpful.
Live love doctor wargo. Hard class but she makes it so everyone has a good chance to pass her class.
I really liked Professor Wargo. Her lectures are full of information, but it is interesting and useful. Everything on the tests is from the slides. There are a lot of points you can earn so if you do bad on something it won't hurt you too much!
BSC 182 has the same structure as 181, continuation of the material. Dr. Wargo is extremely knowledgable at what she teaches and her lectures are very informative. Lots of points outside of tests through discussions and pre-tests. Dr. Wargo is very nice and gives good feedback if you ask her questions.
Betsy Wargo is an excellent professor she explains the material very well, and although she goes fast, you should be able to capture the key information for exams. I recommend doing the extra credit and showing up to the lecture.
Wargo was a pretty good professor. She offers lots of extra credit so do that! Discussions for every unit. Tests off PowerPoint provided and read during lectures. I would recommend going to class, but not mandatory and not a big deal if you miss a few. Exam's reasonably difficult.
Professor Wargo is an engaging anatomy instructor who uses creative metaphors to break down complex topics. While the coursework is demanding, her ample extra credit opportunities and thoughtful feedback make it manageable. I'd recommend using unstuck ai alongside the textbook for comprehensive study prep.
Amazing teacher and the lectures are so beneficial. She makes the content easy to understand and gives good analogies to help understand
LOVE HER! There are 7 exams, each covering 150-200 slides, so it's a ton of info and studying but totally doable. Definitely take advantage of the extra credit, take notes before class, and going to lecture always helped me understand the material, so I wouldn't recommend skipping a lot. She's very organized and overall a great professor.
This is a hard class, but the professor teaches extremely well in lectures. She gives a lot of homework plus extra credit, but by doing the homework alone, you will get a decent grade. There are 7 exams (30 multiple choice) in the year and it covers everything in the PowerPoint. I was happy with this professor's teaching and would 100% take again.
I took BSC 181 and BSC 182 with Wargo and she is amazing. There are extra credit assignments for every module and she has great lectures. She is very good a making sense of harder topics and I would definitely take another class of hers!
Hard class, but only because there was so much content we had to cover throughout the semester. Dr. Wargo did a great job teaching the material and providing resources for studying. You could get up to 5 points of extra credit for every module. There were 7 exams (multiple choice), and no cumulative final. Lots of work, but very doable.
I would take Dr. Wargo. Class is challenging but not so challenging that I couldn't do it. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. It is easy and adds a lot of cushion to your grade. Attendance is not required for lectures. I had a horrible TA and she did nothing about it even with many complaints from students and the main TA. Other than that she is great.
75% of grade is lecture, 25% is lab. Lecture grades super easy, tests are 50 pts but the homeworks were worth 65 pts + you can get 5 pts extra credit. If you make sure you get 100% on homeworks (which are multiple attempts) you do not have to worry about the exams since they weigh less than hw grades. I didn't study for the last exam not cumulative
If you actually spend the time to study you'll get an easy A in the class. The only reason why I didn't was because I slacked off in the middle of the semster and stopped going to class. There's many multiple choice tests throughout the semester but they're only work 5% each. Extra credit is offered with every unit. The labs are also easy as well.
I recommend going through the slideshow and writing it all down, then when the lecture comes, you can add little notes. Homework assignments were almost always over 50 questions, with many of them containing up to 10 parts and sometimes mini-labs. There is an exam every other week with a self-test that is helpful. Extra credit with each exam.
Betsy was a great professor and the best professor to take for this course. She has a lot of homework but that prepares you for the exams very well.
Dr. Wargo is one of those professors who wants her students to succeed and she makes it so. There are a lot of opportunities for earning points, extra credit assignments on every unit. There are 7 Exams and no cumulative final. Lab attendance is also extra credit but there are 4 lab quizzes, lab quiz grades will sneak up on you. Good explainer.
Easy course. If you do the extra credit each week along with the mandatory assignments, it won't be hard to get a good grade.
