This class is really hard. Her tests are extremely hard. You have to use every tool at your disposal to do well in this class.
She is very nice and helpful. You only have four tests and a few quizes. You have to study, but she follows the book exactly and the quizes online are very helpful. I would definitely reccomend her class.
I really liked economics before i took this class. She is not good at explaining what she is talking about. She gets mad when you don't answer her questions but if you speak up she acts like you are annoying her...?I lost all interest for economics after taking her class.
She is a good teacher. Her tests are fair. She wants the class to learn and take interest. I would recomend her.
I was interested in learning econ before this class, but now I am not very interested. LaDuke's comments,"did any of you actually read the chapter?" gets on my last nerve. If people didn't read the chapter;then oh well, it's their problem. This class requires ALOT of studying.
Teaches pretty well. Just kinda annoying sometimes. Gives pop quizes - those suck.
I think econ is interesting, but it is difficult. Ms. LaDuke does an OK job of teaching it and she knows econ. She expects a lot--but she can be somewhat discouraging with her comments like the one below. She gets pretty angry when no one answers. "You guys should know this." Surprisingly, I have a good grade though--and I'll take her for Micro.
I think she's great. She tries to make the subject interesting. She gets frustrated with students that don't do any reading/studying outside of class. There's A LOT of independent studying required to master this subject. I would recommend setting up a study group right away. I believe she's very clear, and she's willing to help you if you need it.
EASY TESTS. THE BAD THING IS YOU HAVE TO BE THERE EVERY CLASS. GIVES ASSIGNMENTS WHICH CANNOT BE MADE UP IF MISSED. SHE WILL NOT DROP ANY GRADES AND DOES NOT WORK WITH YOU IF YOU HAVE MISSED AN ASSIGNMENT. IF YOU CAN BE IN CLASS EVERY TIME THEN TAKE HER OR ELSE YOU WILL STRUGGLE.
This professor is fair+ with her tests and your final grade. My only complaint is her pop quizes (which account for 2 out of 7 assignments). Assignments= 26% of overall grade. I Studied 3-4/hrs. a week and recieved a B.
She was a great professor, but her tests were difficult and hard to follow. If you need additional help she will help you outside of class. She made class interesting by adding current events to discussions.
Ms.LaDuke is a very great teacher who cares. She does a great job on teaching this course. This course can get very tough. I made a C but I think I got nerves. Ms. LaDuke seems to break things down very well so you can understand it.She does expect you to read so that you will not get lost and confused. I could have gotten a B if I studied more.
She’s a good teacher. Fair with her grading, but her pop quizzes are terrible. Test are hard if you don’t study for them, and yes unfortunately you have to study to make a good grade. I’ll be taking her again.
Mrs. Laduke knows everything about this subject and she relates what your learning to current events so it is easier to understand. She can get kind of frustrated but thats understandable. You have 7 take home quiz's which really help your grade! Also she encourages study groups which really help.
ms laduke was a very smart teacher she knew ALOT about what she was talking about. you HAVE to study in her class to do well...the test are hard if you dont' study but she gives you study guides so use them.
can't teach, hard tests, and the study guides don't help at all.
worst teacher ever..cant teach for her life and is just rude. dont ever take her class. she has no clue what shes doing and doesnt know how to be a teacher, her tests are impossible and shes just ridiculous.
her class is challenging but she helps you and wants you to do well! all her quizes are take home and easy as long as you read! her tests are chagenging if you don't study! don't take her class if you can't study
I really like Ms. LaDuke. Econ is a hard class, but she explains it such that everyone understands it. You must study to do well in this class, but she is willing to help if you ask. Overall, she's a great professor.
Watch out for this one. Be careful what you say, because if you get on her bad side, she'll hate you for the whole semester. No extra credit and she's not very lenient. Not only that but she's not very friendly in class.
I dropped the class by midpoint but this lady expects too much from the students. I wouldn't recommend her personally if you don't read the book religiously. She words her quizzes and her test a different way.
This course if very challenging and difficult. You must be very disciplined and hardworking to take her though because you have to study to do well. You can't just read the chapters to grasp understanding. She has available office hours to help you in anyway she can. Study everything she gives:homework, powerpoint presentations, quizzes, etc.
She makes everything seem so easy, but when it comes to the test it's so hard! You really have to buckle down for her class. The take home quizzes really help in the class. 3 tests, 12 take home quizzes, 2 papers, and a final.
I was in her Micro Econ this spring of '06. Attend evry freaking class! DO NOT MISS A LECTRUE CLASS. Because she will give these quizes out of spite. She gave a quiz on the ONLY day I wasn't able to make it and lowered my grade by 6 points. She admites she doesn't tend to give those quized, but still did.
I liked Ms.LaDuke. Her class is difficult, but she teaches it clearly. Econ is a tough subject. I also missed the pop quiz, which was a bit harsh, but that didn't negate the quality of her class otherwise. I suppose it's her right to have a quiz whenever she wants. She is willing to help you, so just ask. Fair teacher, tough subject.
very hard tests, M.C. with essay ?'s but quizes help because use partners. 2 hard papers 5-7 pages. doesn't teach, teach self! expected to know every detail and hard as crap, she sucks!!! no good Econ. teachers at GPC!
Ms. Laduke does her best to teach a very difficult subject. If you go to class, read the chapters, do the take-home quizzes, and use the other online materials (the book has a website with it's own quizzes) you will get an A...If you slack at all...you will not do well. She prepares you for what a real University class will be like.
Its hard to learn anything from a teacher who is always frustrated. Her test do not do her justice as a teacher because she purposely makes them so tricky. Multiple choice questions always have very similiar answers. She is on a power trip. I made a high B in her class but only because i put alot of effort into studying the book.
she sucks. gives no extra credit or won't curve any test grades. Test are way too hard. Take home duizes really don't help your grade at all. she won't even drop a one test grade or replace it with the final exam grade if it is higher. AVOID ANY ECON CLASS AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mrs. LaDuke is an excellent teacher and provides all the resources to pass with an A. I am taking her online class and she makes every effort to help her students. I would recommend her online class to anyone.

She is a nice person, and tries hard. She is a very nice lady...

She's very helpful and really wants to make sure that you understand! I am in her class now!
avoid her class if you care about your gpa. Doesnt teach you anything. Barely passed. YOU ARE WARNED!
Class was not easy but not the hardest. Alot of study time needs to be dedicated to this class. She tries to help you with any question you might need. i received a B in class but i worked for that.
RUN!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!! Do not take any Econ class at GPC at all!!!
Do not go anywhere near her, you will fail!. She does not help students at all and her test are meant for you to fail.
I tend to take the comments of professors with a grain of salt. However, after taking her class and reading what comments were made about her, there is a lot of validity in them. Test are made on hypothetical scenarios where you should be an economist to answer them. Short answer questions require a lot of time to answr that you don't get. RUN!!!!!
Miroeconomics is just a hard course in general. If you enjoy studying EVERY night, then you might like this course. Online course. Uses Respondus Lockdown Browser for Exams.
Hard subject not a hard teacher. Economics is one of those subjects you have to study. Ms LaDuke gives you all you need to succeed. You have all week to do quizzes, Homework can be done until all answers are correct, group blogs are graded easy. Exams are open book. Myeconlab has exams that you can practice and other matl to help with your studies
This subject is extremely difficult and the exams are very, very tough except for the final. You can get discouraged in this class because the tests are so hard but you can still get a good grade with the easy homework and participation in the blogs. Use the virtual office if you need her help that's what she's there for. Hang in there!

Not easy at all and you will get a headache. She only gave out 10 extra credit pts for the mini semester and I needed everyone of them but it was a struggle. The test are just out of this world and very hard. I take the final today hopefully I can pass with a HIGH C!
Don't be fooled, Economics is not an easy class, but Professor LaDuke wants you to succeed and gives you many chances to bring up your grade. She is always there, whether in her online office or email. I am still struggling to understand it all but Professor LaDuke has been amazing and taken the time to walk me through it. Def. recommend!
Prof. LaDuke is very engaging & always available. You MUST read the book, do all assignments, & watch her videos 2 get an A. Ask questions & don't procrastinate. You will pass just by trying, however this is not an easy A class. You must know how 2 apply the concepts. Alot of work, so take full semester. I work FT, school FT, hv children,& got A+.
Excellent teacher. Economics online is hard. The teacher wants you to succeed. Read the book, twice for each chapter, do the online help, ask questions, keep up with the discussions and you will do fine. She is a tough teacher but really fair. Her videos help explain economics so you understand.
Everyone had me scared to take ECON saying it was so hard. Ms. LaDuke has taught the class where it is interesting and you will learn a lot. She does require participation in discussions and tests are not easy but she is always there to help! I had her online class and her videos are just like you are in class. Take her!
Fantastic Professor! Take her online....as long as you read the book and pay attention to discussions you will do fine. You have to participate or you will find the class difficult. Loved her!
This is a good instructor who uses practical techniques which makes learning quite fun!
I love Ms Laduke!!! Instructors like her make students want to learn. She made macroeconomics extremely interesting. She is very responsive and is always available to help. I would gladly take again and HIGHLY recommend her.
Prior comments are untrue. I have taken Honors Macro, very difficult but a got an A. I thought taking regular Micro online was going to be more duable. I was wrong This professor is difficult, her lessons are bassically a map of the objectives which I can get out of any book and a video of her giving you an example. Lots of homework and tricky exams
Please don't waste your money and your time. She does NOT teach you anyhting in her online lectures, one short video and that's it. Her test are designed to be time consuming and she doesn't give you enough time. She makes you do blogs in teams and its so difficult online. Stay away from her online class!!!!
Professor LaDuke is refreshing. Wants her students to learn, understand, AND apply principles of economics. The work is in-depth, but interesting. Not an EASY A. An A is POSSIBLE though, if you choose to put in the work. I am an adult learner, in the Online Honors version, and VERY serious about my education--perhaps that makes the difference.
This is my second class with Ms. Laduke, she is outstanding! You get out what you put in. For the lazy students looking for handouts look somewhere else. You have to work for your A in this class; but trust me and the end of this course you WILL understand the concepts and know how to apply these principles. This class was money well spent.
Ms. LaDuke's online macroeconomics class was one of the easiest A's I have ever earned. She assigns regular homework and group discussion board assignments. She moderates the discussion board to keep you on the right track. She even posts lectures to iCollege so you can get further explanation on course material. Take this professor!
Online honors. I wouldn't say this class was easy, but with the appropriate amount of work, you can get an A. Weekly discussions + lots of textbook reading. Dr. LaDuke is the only reason why I actually enjoyed this class. I hated economics prior to this class, but she actually made it interesting and even fun. Take her 2 get an A and learn too.
LaDuke was awesome for honors online! Fast on answering emails and phone calls, very involved with the class, and wants you to work hard. Gives a couple of extra credit opportunities. Honors has a group project though. You can get an A if you work hard, although I got a B. Just put in the effort! Great teacher! Favorite of all my honor teachers!
I do not recommond her if you want to keep up your GPA. Online courses is setup so you must ace all your quizes and test as none of the other material count heavily towards your overall grade, even the little extra credit doesn't do anything if you are not aceing your test which include essay and complex calculations with very little time 2 finish
I took this class online during a summer semester. It is one of the easiest As I have ever earned. Do your reading and the tests are a breeze. Also, her final is somewhat cumulative and consists of questions from previous tests. Take this professor if you want to actually learn economics and get an A while doing so.
She is the worst. STAY AWAY!She pushes political beliefs on students. Her tests are unorganized and some of the questions can not be answered, so she will tell you to email the answers if you had trouble. Plus, she doesn't give you enough time to finish them, especially with her technical issues. She also has group sessions that teach nothing.
...ridiculous. Does not know how to teach an online class. First online class I had to withdraw from to save my GPA...Studying did not help at all.
This is a very hard teacher, tests are extremely HARD
Wow this class was hard! She's a pretty good teacher and is very helpful. Be prepared to study and to participate. If you do all the homework and are active in the discussions you can still get an A even if you don't do as well on the exams. TAKE NOTES AS YOU READ!!!
Prof LaDuke is very helpful, but be prepared to do a lot of work. You can definitely make an "A".
Although I am earning an A, I would like to save others from attempting this class with Professor LaDuke. Her tests are very difficult and the homework is almost overwhelming. I am taking her online and am not pleased.
This was one of the better online classes that I've taken. Ms. LaDuke is a great teacher. She's very organized, she gives a lot feedback and interacts w/ students throughout the class, dates for assignments are clear, and the grading structure is fair. The class is not an "easy A," but you'll do well if you put in the effort.
To take this class you will need lots of time to study believe me at least 4 hours test are kind of hard. This is not an easy A online class if you have one or two classes you will be fine.
This class was the hardest class I have ever taken online. Classwork took atleast 5-10 hours per week ( a lot compared to other courses). She is a good teacher but this class was still hard and very time consuming.
This is an extremely hard class. She is a very good professor but the readings are hard and long. Class is manageable but I put like 6-10 hours a week in to barely pull off an A.
Took this course online for the half term. I never opened the book, and managed to do well. For homework you get 2trys just look @ your first attempt and copy correct answers. I'll end up getting a B, but that's good 4 the work i put into the class (basically none). I didn't learn anything. I would rec if u need econ but don't need to learn it.
If you like a professor that doesn't encourage you to grow and wants you to hide your deficiencies in class, she is perfect for you. She once said in a lecture that if your gpa is around a 2-3.0 that you should drop out. The only way to pass the class is to have a professional economist or cheat.
Very difficult lessons. You must listen to her sessions and try to tie them to the homework and also read the chapter for this to sink in. I had to increase my study time from 6 hours to more along the lines of 10-12. To get an 'A' don't just do the homework she gives, go into Pearson and do all the chapter homework.
Really great professor! It's not an easy class but Ms. Laduke will help you through it. Only wish I had had her for macro as well. Tests are hard, but she really wants you to do well.
Ms. LaDuke teaches one of the most organized classes I have EVER taken! She makes the grading criteria extremely clear from day one, and is there to help you at all times, offering many options to be in contact with her. This was crucial for an online class. There were two group discussion assignments, 4 tests, and homework. HIGHLY recommend!
Mrs. LaDuke is a great teacher. Knowledgeable, clear, organized. Clear expectations from day 1. This is accounting so it's work, but if you put in moderate effort, you'll get a good grade. Frequent homework, but not long. Discussions, tests, even if you don't do so hot on tests, grading from homework will help you pass. Took her 12 summer.
Tough teacher hard exams, gave a couple extra credit opportunities. To be honest as long as you score high on the Homework. You can still pass the class if you do decent on tests. Like if you have an A on homework and a C or B average on tests you can still get an A. Took her because it's hard to secure a seat in gladfelter' class. Best wishes
Taken Online. What you put in is what you will get out. Not super hard but Prof. LaDuke is heavy on participation. Test were sometimes hard but if you read, do homework, and participate you should pass. At first I didn't like the required discussions but they actually helped me learn the concepts each week. Prof. LaDuke is a great teacher. Take Her
She was truly an inspirational instructor. She has made me really love economics more than I already did. She is a tough instructor so be ready to put in the work. Tests are very specific so make sure you read the book and practice the formulas. She is on point with communication and explaining topics. I would absolutely take her again.
Professor is probably a great classroom teacher; however, not the best regarding on-line. She gives too many resources & not clear as to which are helpful can be overwhelming. Test are tough, they do not match what we do for homework. Group projects can be a joke if you don't have good group peers & you don't get to pick who they are or change.
I took the online honors version of this course. Professor La Duke is a great professor. Economics is hard. It will not be easy and will not be an easy A. The course is mostly self driven. If you can teach yourself, you'll do great. Also buy the text book, the online version made the class difficult for me.
Once again she has amazed me. She does give a lot of tough homework but it is worth it. Be careful of graphs, make sure you completely understand them! She was completely available for any help needed, as usual. The tests take the whole time given to take, at least for me, so be sure to know your stuff. If you want a challenge, take her!
I gave a 4 in difficulty b/c some parts just lost me. It wasn't her, I just couldn't get the logic to click lol. Other than that, she's great. Always readily available. She treats you as if you are actually in the classroom. If you are taking her in person, you'll do fine. Her examples are great and relateable. Not much work but tests weigh heavy
LaDuke is extremely clear about her grading criteria & keeps you up to date on your grade every week. Not gunna lie, it was kinda tough! STUDY & DO THE ONLINE HOMEWORK! Did lousy on the 1st exam, great on the last 3, OK on the homework, & didn't touch the discussions. Managed to get by with a 76. An "A" is possible just work for it (like i didn't)
Great professor. Just do your homework and you will get an A in her classs. . She's very helpful and her tests are fair. Easiest economics teacher by far.
Very hard teacher. Tests are impossible. Most difficult class I have ever takenn.
Prof. Laduke isn't teaching an easy subject but makes it possible for all of her students to pass and she will also be understanding to certain situations. I would take her class again in a heartbeat because she made a subject i loathe, seemingly doable. THIS ISNT A CLASS YOU CAN JUST "GET BY" IN. STUDY A LITTLE!
Took this half semester, and there was an exam almost every two weeks, sometimes every week. There are no professor powerpoints so you had to read directly from the book. Chaps were around 40-100 pages. About 3-5 chap a week. Assignments/book on MY Econ. Exams on Icollege and difficult. answers not online. But sweet lady
Her class is hard. The workload is heavy and the test are beyond difficult. She is a very available teacher and grades everything right away so you know where you stand at all times. If you are taking her class online, you will have to do the reading and learn it. It is really a self taught class & if you are lost, you stay lost.
This class is hard and the workload is extremely heavy. She doesn't make it easy for students to pass her class at all.
this class is hard she doesnt teach anything and the test are impossible. she lets you use notes but its not based on notes but examples. she also watches you take the test and you CANT cheat! i wouldnt recommend anyone take econ with her.
Drop this class. She does not teach at ALL for the online class. No powerpoints, no videos, no notes. No nothing, you are on your own. You are paying to teach yourself and if this is your 1st econ class, drop her class and check for better rated teachers who actually teach and not collect a check, by posting assignments and entering grades.
