this teacher is not very good at teaching math to the mathematically challenged. she does not make it easy at all and is not very helpful to students with needs. she flunked me and i am a straight A student if that tells you anything.

Do Not take! Very Unhelpful. I had to miss a couple of days of class because of work, which I told her ahead of time. And she refused to give me notes and handouts for the classes I missed. Very monotone voice. Doesn't care about students.

she did not test the way she taught. i would not recommend her to anyone that does not have a very good grasp on math. it seemed like she was trying to trick us on the tests rather than teach us.

I have never had a teacher who told her class they were hopeless. She is quite possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. Very boring and unwilling to help. NOT RECOMMENDED!

I took this class with confidence that I knew the material that was being taught. It turns out that when I got the test paper it was harder than I expected,wording was hard. She makes something so easy, so complicated.She tries to trick you rather than teach you. Horrible Teacher. NOT RECOMMENDED!

It doesn't matter how well you understand the material because she tries to get you to fail on the tests. I got a 75 on the first test and that was better than everyone else so what does that tell you? Don't take her class if you need an A!

Took her for precalc, horrible teacher. Never dropped a class before, but dropped her. DO NOT TAKE HER. She is not a teacher... She just expects you to know what you are doing and assigns it.

She hit me in the face with her shoe because I didn't know the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. She made me write it down over and over again on a sheet of paper and made me eat that piece of paper so I can internalize the Theorem and never forget it. I'm terrified of shoes and paper now.

She is the worst teacher I have ever taken. The only class I have ever not passed in my life. I took her 4 years ago and she is the one that almost made me drop out of college. I have A's in every math class I have ever taken except for her. She REALLY IS A BAD TEACHER AND SHOULD STOP TEACHING!

This woman has no personality and is not very good with explaining things. Would spend the whole class time going over homework and not new material, that she would expect you to know for the test.

I have NEVER in my life had to drop a class, and with Capuano i HAD to. She is by far the WORST teacher I have ever met in my life, monotone, rude, and really could care less. She is just a miserable person and she is HORRIBLE at teaching.

One of my Least favorite teachers. Monotone. Wrote in cursive? on the board...should teach english or something because for every math problem she expects a 10 page dissertation. Grading also seems random. Two papers exactly alike (we worked in groups) and she gave them different grades.

This is the worst math teacher that i have ever had. The tests are very hard and have nothing to do with what is taught in class. The labs are almost impossible and are more time consuming than the class. I would never recommend anyone take this class with her.

The worst teacher by far that I have ever have. She said there is no such thing as a review for a final. No help at all. Basically make her your last resort, even if thats the case still DO NOT TAKE HER!!

One terrible, mumbling, non interactive, late, irresponsible teacher with horrid handwriting. Take her if you want to fail. she will not announce homework, her tests have less than 10 questions every time. no reviews for any test including the final. she is just sitting through her tenure, not teaching a darn thing.

do not take this teacher, she knows math. but she is always late, keeps you late, she is degrading by saying that her 11y/o niece can do the math. and just all around bad teacher. if you already know how to do all the math and the concepts already youl be able to follow what she is saying, but if your actually needing to learn good luck.

She is always late which means she keeps the class LATE, every day! I am amazing at math and have never gotten below an A, but in this class I got a D. Avoid her class if possible!

Most of my classmates are failing this class, she's really bad at explaining and she doesn't help. She just sorta looks at students as they try to get her attention. She will FLIP out on you if you try to leave to use the bathroom or go to a Doc's appointment. She will like yell at you and try to block your way! It's insane.

Worst teacher you will ever take. She knows the material but can not teach it to you. She only accepts answers that are worked out the way she wants them and not ways that you have learned prior to the class. She does not have a problem failing you, and she sees questions as a challenege and will argue with you about them until you sop talking

She doesn't accept much comment nor suggestion from students. Her teaching direction is totally pointless and ambiguous. In my semester, a student just had some wonder about her question, she just suddenly turned very mad and throw the book in front of his desk, said that if you don't like my teaching method, just get out of my class.

This professor will be your nightmare. Her organizational skills are that of a 6 year old, if you take an exam, don't expect a grade back for at least two weeks. She has no concern if you are failing her class and will not give you extra credit. I had previously taken calc 2 in highschool and got A's, but this class was too much to handle.

I'm not even through with the class and I can already tell you this is the WORST math professor I've ever had. She's crazy.. she doesn't really specify what you're going through that day in class so you really just write down everything on the board. Not organized at all. Everyone is lost because she fails to inform you what you'll be going over!!

Capuano is a nightmare. She always seems angry. She actually slammed the door out of anger when someone went to the bathroom without asking her for her permission to go. No such thing as 100%. She will find something wrong every time, relevant to the material or not. Her mentality is clearly, "Have material to cover, not students to teach" AVOID!!!

Not helpful, not organized, not a teacher. She is merely there to show you that she is great at mathematics and works hard to show you that you are not on her level.

Terrible teacher. I promise you that if you take her and are not naturally good at math, you will want to die. I have gotten A's in math my whole life until her Precalc class, which covered material I already kind of knew, and still could not pass her tests. Gave a quiz on Hyperbolas when she was absent the day to lecture it. Hate her.

This teacher did a terrible job keeping my attention focused in the class, which is what I generally need in a class to pass. She would often take many points of on tests, where there were only 3, even if the answer is correct with the reasoning that you didn't follow the proper steps/setup. She did very little to help students understand material.

Avoid at all costs. Awful at teaching. Often forgets the material herself and posts wrong information during lecture. Removes points if she doesn't like how you wrote an answer, even if it is right.

I don't understand how she is a teacher. She doesn't finish her lectures and she is not interested in teaching at all. When she gives a test be prepared to get a poor grade even if your answers are right because if she doesn't like the way you wrote it then you get it wrong.

Is celebrating 30 years at Santa Fe and is literally the worst professor I've had yet. Doesn't know how to use canvas or the online homework site, and wont cut you any slack for her mistakes. Would assign work that we had not covered yet online accidentally and they wouldn't switch the grade back after acknowledging her mistake.

Avoid at all costs. Wants you to fail, hates showing up to class, extremely belittling and derogatory. Almost the whole class failed or withdrawaled. Refuses to help you learn or teach in a progressive or positive manor. Get ready for meetings with student affairs and the math chairmen to try and salvage your grade. Tense and depressing class.

worst teacher. spends all class on one question and tell us that we are supposed to learn the rest on our own. and the worst part is that she takes points off for every thing. if you write the correct answer a different way than she does, you'll still lose points because "math has rules" and "you can't just write whatever you want" AVOID HER CLASS

Not a flexible teacher at all, you can get the right answer but have done the work a wrong way and get the whole question wrong. I took an exam during the pandemic and lost internet, the teacher refused to allow me to take it again. Overall her priorities are not in the right place, she cares too much about the stuff that should not matter in math.

When I tell you she is the most rude professor I have ever had I mean it. Not only did she slam my phone on the desk in class , she even made a remark about my lack of intelligence in front of the class. I thought whenever we went all online that she wouldn't be as rude, nope. Even over email she will add snarky remarks and belittle you. Mean woman

So where do I even start with this woman. Hate to break it to you, everybody failed the class. ABSOLUTELY NOBODY PASSED THIS CLASS! This professor had no idea how to lecture or how to give helpful feedback to students. When it came time to take the exam, nobody understood anything because she barely answered our questions. Takes attendance every zoom lecture. Doesn't teach the material and expects you to teach yourself precalc math/trig at rocket speed. If you want to take a class that makes you question your sanity take this class, but if you don't want to set yourself up for failure take anyone else.

The worst class I have ever taken in my entire life. You will not do well in this class no matter how much you study. she is very harsh with her students and refuses to help them in any way.

I took Professor Capuano for one semester and ended up getting a D in her course so I withdrew from the class. After doing so, I took another teacher for pre cal and I ended with an A. I think this is because her tests and the stuff she teaches does not match up at all.

I do not feel she teaches well at all. No one in my class understood the material.

Get ready t o depend on Khan Academy and every other source available. She grades very heavy on tests and quizzes, if you don't show your work and/or miss a step be prepared to lose points over this. She barely finishes lectures in time in class and won't ever finish them so you'll have to catch up yourself. Do not take this class, please don't

I finished with an "A" in this class however professor capuano is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. I have taken calculus previously so I understood most of the material already but I felt very bad for my classmates. she would explain things very poorly and was not accommodating at all. do not take this class if you struggle with math.

Lectured about the math problems instead of showing us how to do them, would ignore students when they tried answering, write things wrong and would get extremely upset if we corrected her. We had no idea what was going to be on the exams, and she never helped us prepare for them, marked answers wrong on the exam if you didn't solve them her way.

Simply put, save yourself. DO NOT TAKE HER. Professor Capuano is easily the worst teacher I've ever had because she doesn't care about student success. If you don't show work the exact way she taught it, you're "wrong". College Algebra itself isn't that hard, but Professor makes it 10 times more challenging.
