She is a great!!!! Best teacher I have had so far. Very helpful and I learnt a lot in her class.

Please...it's a speech class!!!!!!! You have to take it and it might as well be with her. She's a nice lady and if you do the work you'll get an A! I don't understand what the bad marks are for, she's awesome.

I was scard before taking this class because i read all the other ratings on this site about this teacher. but the whole time i tryed to look for her being unfair or chooseing favorites but i didn't see that at all. I don't think that shes an easy teacher. You get the grade that you deserve.

I really enjoyed this class. Shes an easy B but a hard A on speeches. She was very helpful and I really enjoyed going to class. I would definetly recommend her.

Good Teacher... Hard to get an "A" grade. You have to work for it, but she is flexible and willing to work with you as long as you show you are putting in the effort on your part.

She is awesome! I don't know why everyone is saying it is unfair she makes us do presentations. It's a speach Class, of course there are going to be alot of speeches. Excellent teacher and she seems to really love her job. I like the movies we watch.

i took comm 1 with her. she is AWESOME! sure you have to do all the homework and speeches in order to get a good grade-and oh, study for the tests too. shes very helpful, and always cheerful. this class was very fun! i loved it and learned so much from it. thanks mrs ensminger!

She has a fun approach to teaching, she makes class bearable. Doesn't always go over everything on tests or assignments so pay attention, she talks very fast. Make sure you contact her for help, she is good at replying. She gets a little rude sometimes, but she is kinda old.

Solid professor, I didn't see any favoritism at all. Make sure you know your speech outlines and your speech topics thoroughly or you'll get points taken off. She let us eat in class from time to time as well. She offers a fair amount of extra credit as well. Public speaking makes me nervous but after this class, it helped ease that.

She does favor students, but then again she's also pretty lenient with making things up. Just don't get on her bad side, do decent work and you'll come out with a B.

This class isn't as bad as i thought. she's nice most of the time if she doesn't snap on you and try to prove her wrong. She's super nice and friendly, and explains everything in depth. There's no doubt about her ability to teach, but (and this is pretty obvious) if you don't like to speak in front of a lot of people, then you're screwed. She still gave me a decent grade even though I looked like a deer in the headlights for most speeches.

She is a great professor to take for public speaking. she gives great feed back. She makes the class easy. Just put a little preparation into your speeches and you will do good.

This class was mediocre. It basically depends on your classmates. I heard some of the dumbest speeches ever in history and I'm expected not to laugh. She missed a lot of classes, didn't really teach anything, you basically just improve on your own each speech. I wouldn't recommend her, but I don't know if the other teachers are worse or not.

Took her class Spring 2011. I was very nervous about this class because I was horrified of public speaking. It turned out to be one of the best class I've taken. She makes the class fun, we had at least 2 pot locks. Make sure you follow guidelines and always volunteer to go first. Many oppurtunities for extra credit. Fun class, overall!

She is a fun and funny teacher! I am taking her class right now for fall 2011. She gives you all the answers to the test prior to the test. Only 2 tests but they are easy. MUST ATTEND CLASS. You will get dropped. She makes class fun, there are 2 pot lucks, she really helps you and makes public speaking easy and helps you overcome being nervous.

Always give your speech on the first day, she is very helpfuland your test are a freebee if you attend class all her answers she writes on the board if she writes it write it down it will be on the test

Loved being in her class! I learned a lot from her and the activities we did. She's an easier grader on the first day of speeches (four total speeches an a final). She tells you EVERYTHING that is on the tests on study guides (you take a total of two in a semester). Potlucks are fun. Attendance is a must. Do not slack off. Excred opps. & Very nice!

Class was fun, do your homework and be prepared for your speeches, and give them on the day they are due, you will have no problems in this class. She likes to have potlucks which is nice.

Betty is awesome. Tip: Try to always sign up for first day speeches. She tells you what is expected, so there are no surprises. There are 2 tests, just pay attention in class and review. Overall, even though it's the class everyone avoids, it was pretty fun. There's potlucks so bring yummy food.

5 Speeches and couples of In class activities. Attendance mandatory. Once you know that you have her class tomorrow. U will be getting sick to go her class.She will make u more sick when she tell u next week be prepared we have to cover a lot. 30 extra credits. She is a cheery, high energy teacher who keeps everyone entertained and comes to class fully prepared with multiple activities to help you learn. On the other hand, her activities can be a bit much because they're all over the place. She's also a very strict grader on speeches. Don't take her if English is your second language.

She's very nice and comes off as the "grandmother" type. She's easy to get along with, and one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. There isn't much homework besides writing outlines and research of speech topics. I would recommend this class for anyone not interested in the major.

I think a lot of people have trouble in her class because she's very direct. As long as you follow directions and read the material you'll be fine. She has potlucks and makes the environment fun and relaxed on speech days.

Betty is super nice and a very good teacher. I was so nervous about taking this class that I waited to take this class until almost my last semester at Mission. She is a tough grader on speeches so you MUST practice your speeches. She makes it super easy to get an A if you put the effort in and do not take this class lightly.

Ms. Betty was just amazing, I felt her class was very easy and she's also very nice, she would never be rude or be angry at you for any reason. Took her during summer, and her 3 hours classes during the week felt like nothing because she provides a fun environment with different activities.

Fun class, Betty makes it so fun you dont want to miss a class. Shes motivating and inspirational. Participation and sharing your opinion is always welcome and appreciated by all. You can share your opinion and personal experiences which is great. The class is hard work but well worth it. Potluck is a bonus!

Her tests are difficult (multiple choice with multiple correct answers,) but she'd still give you credit if the whole class missed the same problem. If you need an extension for a homework assignment for whatever reason, she'd likey give it to you. She really wants everyone to pass!

If you want to ace this class. Make sure pay attention on small details. Her class is easy and manageable if you pay attention during lecture. She gives lot of extra credit and make up speech. Ask her feedback and look for what she is asking. Her midterms and final are easy if you study for 2 hours before a test. Read her manual, it's important!!!

She's very clear on what she expects from you and wants to see you improve. Many people are natural born public speakers and this class really helps you come out of your shell a little. You get feedback from her and students and they help. There isn't too much reading and the exams are easy. Presenting is majority of your grade, but just practice!

I took this class in the summer of 2018. She is a great teacher who seeks to improve her students' public speaking abilities by providing good feedback. If you put in the effort then you will pass the class. Be sure to do those extra credit peer reviews of speeches as it helps bring your grade up.

Extra credit, allows redo on speeches, and is lenient on the delivery/content of your speech (if you have a good outline). Don't be conflicted, take this class, preferably in the Summer.
