reads from the book & slides, but respect you know everything by heart

Needs to do more than just read textbook's slides.Lectures are a waste of time,learn NOTHING.What we need is to be TAUGHT the material.The material needs to be taught.What is needed is a better teaching method FOR: the material. (and so on and so forth)

I agree, she deserves to be fired.

very boring prof.Her accent is too heavy and one can hardly understand her.she should prepare herself before coming to class and avoid reading direct from the textbook.

This prof is horrible. She should be fired.

She goes off on random rants and is unable to explain things well when she is actually on track. She never goes indepth in an example, which makes me believe she doesnt know what she is talking about. For what I am paying, she should definatly be fired.

Did not explain anything that was covered. I am completly lost now as I am 4 weeks behind the other class.

She taught absolutley nothing that was relevant for tests or assignments. I ended up switching to Bockus's class so I wouldn't fail.

This class is more about how to go into random speeches rather then teaching.. Also when you ask her a questions he ALWAYS has to answer next class so she can "read up on it" but she never does

Worst prof I have ever had at Brock. My average is over 90 and I love my program. However, this prof. made me hate this course! Always late for lectures! Never reply your Emails! Never answer your questions! Does not know what she taught! She is the only AI prof. at Brock. BUT be aware, ever you like AI so much as I do! Do not take her course!

Prof. Ombuki is the worst professor I have ever had. She will be late nearly every class. She will not answer questions properly. She will waste time in classs. She will expect you to come to lecture. You will not learn, but you will be expected to have the knowledge anyway. Terrible. Avoid this professor at all costs.

This professor was late to a majority of classes. Has difficulty explaining simple concepts. And Flip flops between subjects without respect to the semester schedule. It is an easy mark if you go to class however, she is very informal (late) and difficult to contact for any additional inquiries. If the course is not required I would not recommend.

I want to rate her zero.

It doesn't matter how hard this course is. If your teacher wouldn't teach, you would find out what you are learning. OB is the teacher like this.

Please be a teacher and disseminate knowledge rather than rebuild teachers' bottom line.

Please email me before 10 A.M. on weekday if you want the your grades. Don't worry, your marks are on the long long long way. You can use the lecture time to do your assignments or something else since I cannot go for the lecture today.

She's awful at explaining any subject, she's all over the place, skips slides, doesn't know her slides, makes fun of students, and is a slow grader. None of the course content is available online, she personally emails assignment instructions and slides. She has taken over two months to grade our midterm. Worst professor I've had so far.

Fall term is end at the last day of 2019, COSC3P71 final exam was on 12th Dec. 2019. Almost a month has passed, we still don't know our midterm, assignmet 3, fianl exam, and project grades. Midterm exam happenned roughlh 3 months ago. We don't know how we do on this course. She makes us nothing about this course but her name only.

Professor not cares about students. It is very sad.. he is not come to class a lot and even leave exam. When coming to class he is come late.. We are not got the midterm mark and prof tell us to email and still not response for over month. It obvious the professor is not care about student and maybe only money and get a power. Remove from teaching

Professor Ombuki may be the worst professor at Brock University. It seems as if she is unable to give a well thought lecture. I found it difficult to listen to her for more than twenty minutes. Her lecture may be better structure and easier to listen to if she didn't spend half the lecture quizzing everyone in the lecture hall.

Constantly late - Often we would arrive to class to wait more than 30 minutes before he arrives to hear some new lame excuse.

She'll go waffling on about some topic for half the lecture, without actually imparting any knowledge whatsoever, then proceed to call out students to explain lecture material rather than do her job. Her time management is disgraceful, and the work she expects us to do is not worth the measly half credit given her inability to teach. Stay away.

Ombuki was late to every lecture (this is not hyperbole) and wasted 20+ minutes taking attendence in multiple lectures. She is a poor lecturer, often contradicting the material in the slides or getting distracted. Ultimately the slides we're enough for most material, but attendance was still necessary since most expectations were stated verbally.

Loves to show up late to lecture Instead of doing comp sci right she makes you do a huge project the you have to write and IEEE report on it. This was not explained properly at all. Today she asked the class for feedback on our group project (she has managed this terribly) and when we have it she dismissed all of it.

Professor Ombuki is disrespectful, unprofessional, and unfit to teach. She disrespected our class all year by showing up to 3/24 lectures on time. She walks in 10 - 40 minutes late every class, says "Sorry guys, emergency". She cancelled multiple classes. Said she would post slides, never posted. Wouldn't get back to emails. Emotional breakdowns.

Probably the worst prof I have ever had. Showed up to maybe 3 lectures out of 24 less than 10 minutes late, sometimes she doesn't show up at all. Lost our midterms and doesn't ever respond to emails. Didn't get our final grade until the course sign up for next semester had closed, which got several people kicked out of their courses (10 in 1 class)

She was absolutely awful. Never showed up on time, disrespectful to students, took phone calls during class, and even outsourced lectures to grad students rather than doing it herself. Universally hated by undergrads and grad students alike. Avoid if at all possible.

This professor is too busy to give you time and is rude

Rude. Disrespectful. Doesn't know what she is doing. Thinks everyone is as free as her to do things at her time. Poor course delivery. Poor teaching. Awful. Brock should be ashamed having her as the dean of computer science and just as a professor. It's absurd how the university can allow this.

Ombuki is horrible! First 4 weeks showed up once only and tested us on that material. She gives excuses she had to show up for her daughter's tryouts and basically screw us. No outline was given until end of second week, and we never had any clear deadlines (nothing specified in outline). Only focused on her research as if its a nuclear weapon.

Extremely unprofessional as a professor. Communication about course requirements, deadlines, and quizzes was terrible and often changed at the last minute even on the day of, with little regard for students time or schedules. The course was mostly run by her assistants, as she rarely showed up to class herself.

Despite being a professor at a small school in a small program, she will not make time for students. She is unorganized, requires attendance but cancels classes last minute, and generally does not respect her students despite demanding unwavering respect from them. Students deserve better.

I don't say this lightly, but Ombuki is probably one of, if not, the worst teacher's, let alone "professors" I have had the displeasure of learning from. Every class is as follows: 1) Shows up at least 5-10 mins late. 2) 8 minute tangent on random irrelevant changes to the course. 3) rest of the lecture = unfocused side tangents. TA's are great tho

The worst professor ever. It is too different for her to have the lecture. You will see the TA more often than the professor.

Avoid if you can, I thought that the other ratemyprof reviews were going to be too harsh when I first started the class. Turns out they were right.
