Excellent professor, very clear cut syllabus and followed closely, Easy B, spend 2-3 hours a week and you got an A

i took this in the summer and she was pretty easy. we had computers in our class so the whole time we jus worked on our hw the whole period. no need to come to class unless u want to print your stuff out for free with the printer. i got an A and my papers were full of bs. take her.

i really don't recomend her just because she gives too much work

Too many assignments. 30+ journal entries and 4 essays too much work.

She is very easy and the class is helpful. I recommend her. Got an easy A.

40 one-page Journal.... besides that relatively easy, Class puts u to sleep though, she sometimes likes to linger on stuff

very easy class. the only thing is there is a lot of work with journals. just do your work and you should be good.

hi everyone, who ever told you a class was easy? you just have to study and prepare for work. she gives journals to write about 40 and you have to be ready to read peoms, plays, and essays. she is wonderful and besides beautiful. Good luck

Professor Proctor is an excellent teacher. I had her for English 1302 and British Literature 2322; both classes were easy to understand and the readings were wonderful. I would take Professor Proctor for all of my classes if I could. She responds promptly and courteously when you have questions or problems. I highly recommend taking her classes.

This class is really easy if you read the essays! There are lots of journals but only 1 page each. Not a tough grader at all. I am not very good in english classes but her class was nice. The readings are interesting. I would recommend. I am taking for British Lit next semester.

I am a ESL student in her class well the first 3 essys are borig its about poems. the bad part about this class you have to do 40 journal for the entire semester. only one research paper after the 9 weeks of class. sincerally if you are ESL dont take her you will suffer. If you are native speaker might be easy for you. lots of readings !!!!

English Comp. 2 was tough because of all the work that Betty Proctor assigned. I worked very hard on this class and I got a B. My advice is that you will learn a lot from this class as long as you take advantage of her office hours. If you READ and get help you'll do great,learn a lot and feel good but tired too! Not a blow off!

She is a very nice person but a boring teacher. You really have to force yourself to attend this class. No one speaks and alot of the classes seem to be a waste of time. She gives you alot of busy work including 40 journal entries and several essays to work on. Sadly, she tries to teach you how to write an essay the way you did in high school.

Wonderful professor and very helpful if you take advantage to her office hours. Plus, she is very challenging, but once you are done with her class, you fell as if english does not have more secret to you. she does not talk a lot, but she likes to hear how students think on a certain subject. show her that you got a good opinion, and you'll be fine

She is pretty easy. This class requires alot of reading and 3 exams that are essays only. Make sure you use citations and quotes from reading when writing essays. Final exam 750 words essay given a week ahead.

Betty is an all-right gal. She is pretty tolerant. You must write 3 essays, (in all) 40 pages of journaling, and the final is a 500-750 word essay in class. Lots of reading in literature book. I thought her reading choices were interesting. You have to work in this class but it's not outrageous. I would take her again.

Great teacher! Three essays, research paper (30 % of grade) final exam 750 essay, 40 journals--20 do on different dates. Overall for class...oh yeah lots of reading.

Dr. Proctor is pretty cool. u just guta read alot from the book. must have it!.. 40 journals must be done yet is not that hard. does everything on blackboard!

Not the best professor for 1302, but not the worst. You will do a LOT of work. You will have 40 journal entries MINIMUM, multiple essays, and a research paper, class-presentation, and final exam. All you have to do to get a good grade on her essays is quote a lot and grammar is all she checks. Take her if you have to.

What a great teacher! If you'd like to learn not only how to write correctly but also to analyze and understand the deep meaning of masterpieces by contemporary authors as well as modern writers,you must take this class. She looks gorgeous, she speaks beautiful, she explains everything clearly, and she is fair. A rare GEM among all the teachers!

She is awesome!! She will make you work, demand everything from you, and make you a better writer. English is not my first language so I needed someone who can really help me become a better writer. She did it. I am grateful to all the work she made me do because I can now write a whole lot better! Thanks Prof!!

This professor is very professional and easy to understand. The classs is not hard to do at all. You can tell that she has a lot of good experience in the field too which is always a plus.

I loved her!! I was dreading Eng as I hate it, but she was SO helpful!! She will proof your essays before you turn your final paper in. What more could you ask for? Easy A if you do the work!

I took this class online. Dr. Proctor is very clear about what she expects. There is quite a bit of reading and writing. If you do the work and pay attention to her comments, you will do well in the class.

I really liked Ms. Proctor. She is a very knowledgable and intelligent teacher. The class consisted of four essays and the final exam was also an essay. One of the assignments was to keep a journal of fourty entries over current events and readings from the text. You'll have to work for the grade, but I highly recommend her. Very helpful and nice.

I am not sure you can get a better teacher. The class is a lot of work, but no unmanagable. I took 16 hours while taking her class. I am not teh best writer, but she proofs your papers, let's you make corrections, and then you can turn them in for final grading. I made an A. If you do the work, easy A!

Dr. Proctor is an excellent teacher and a very fair grader. She does her best to keep dull course material engaging. She is very understanding, so if you have a problem, contact her. She put up with my acerbic prose and worked with my demanding work and home schedule. The class is not a cakewalk, you will read A LOT and do a lot of work to get an A

Took this class online. Clear with what she wanted. Quick to respond to questions and super quick with grading. 3 essays, one research paper, another essay as a final, and 20 journals. Not TOO much work, but not a small amount either I guess. Would defineatly reccommend for an online class.

Super quick at grading papers. Teaches students how to correctly revise papers and formulate an engaging essay. Poems and plays are very intriguing to read. Dr. P is very patient and courteous. Only thing is do NOT get behind on the journals. Turn in work = pass. Papers free of grammatical errors = A. I got the latter :-)

She is a good teacher i took her in the 8-week course there is alot of reading,an essay everyweek, as well as the journals. It's a good class for people that want to be done with the course quick. She gives you all the tools you need for your essays. Also post discussions for every lecture weekly.

Dr P is very organized.. she follows her syllabus. its easy to follow along and always know where you stand. She grades quickly and gives feedback. Do not procrastinate or fall behind, plenty of writing. Love the Brit Lit. She is understanding with late work if you communicate.

I took her online for 1302, and I can say take the other comments on this site with a grain of salt. 1302 is a COMPOSITION class, so YOU WILL HAVE TO WRITE. Five essays (one is your final exam) and a journal that you have all semester to write. Definitely nice for DE, she was helpful and quick to answer emails online. Glad I took her.

Great teacher! I had messed up on my essay file upload and she let me turn it in again to fix my file upload mistake. She is very helpful and explains well. Sometimes she acts like your questions are dumb but mostly great. Got a B. Hybrid class.

I took this class as a prerequisite and wasn't to excited about it. I ended up enjoying the class and it refreshed my writing skills. The Professor is great and is very helpful. She responds to things Ina timely manor and grades right away. Positive experience!

She is very helpful and thorough. Good online professor. If you do the work, you will get the grade you deserve. I feel like I am a better writer now.

YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH BRITISH LITERATURE!She is clear-cut with instructions. you do have to read. notebook entries every week, but it's doable, once you find out how she likes it done, stick with it. I personally liked her class, and I don't even like English.

I would not listen to those who post negative comments about Dr. Proctor. The grammar of their messages give their ignorance away. It is obvious these people deserve the grades that were awarded to them. She is clear, organized, and fair. I had a wonderful on- line experience. The syllabus is easy to follow and there are no surprises.

Only grades are essays, she starts off with two the follows up with a research essay and the final.

Dr. Proctor is an excellent professor. She grades mostly based on technicalities which is not a negative thing. There are very few grades, 4 papers and discussion questions through the distance education- but if you put in the effort it will be reflected in your grades. I appreciated her feedback, and grew from it with each following assignment.

Dr. Proctor is fair, I enjoyed the readings, and class discussion was very interesting! You need to follow instructions carefully on the papers. Ask for help or get tutoring for the best grade. I highly recommend this prof!

Lots of reading. Lots of discussion posts and papers. Tough-ish grader. I feel I was often docked points for what I found to be frivolous reasons. Final is in the form of a paper that she seemed to grade more heavily than the others. If you're not a good writer I would skip this professor.

I loved Dr. Proctor's 1302 ONLINE class. She follow the Syllabus, gives detailed feedback and within 1-2 days! Her instructions are clear and I enjoyed the readings. HIGHLY recommend!

I loved Dr. Proctor's class! She's the best! She grades really fast and I loved the readings. Don't listen to the negative comments by sore losers who just goofed off. When I made a B on the first paper, the professor helped me improve and gave me more confidence in myself, and I ended up with an A.

The best online class I have ever taken. Loved the classwork, reading assignments. Professor Proctor was excellent! loved her teaching methods and she was always available to answer any questions. You will have to read but you well gain much knowledge. I highly recommend this Professor!

If you read her lecture documents and all the extra documents about correct MLA format and grammar, you will succeed. She gives good lectures and is organized. She'll give you plenty of opportunities in class to write your papers while receiving her feedback.

The class was wonderful, if you follow the Syllabus and actually read and do what is assigned. The professor helped me a lot! Very caring and knowledgeable. One of the best profs at HCC.

The readings in 1302 are interesting and reflect what is happening today. If you attend class and follow instructions, especially MLA, youll make a good grade. The professor met with me several times, and knows the subject. Highly recommend! Nice, caring teacher.

I highly recommend this professor for her online summer course! She is super nice and gives great feedback on essays. Her grade is based on: weekly discussions (about plays, poems, or short stories), about 3 essays, and 1 research paper. Essay topics are actually interesting and engaging. Nothing too hard, but do expect to write well to earn an A.

I'm not sure why everyone is saying this class is so hard. I've gotten a 90 or higher on every single one of my assignments and papers. I also wrote most of my papers the night before. There is a lot of reading, but as long as you have proper grammar and know how to use MLA format, this class is easy.

I liked this class but it's HARD. Don't take this class if you're looking for an easy A. The readings are difficult at the beginning b/c it's older stuff. She grades really hard -no room for error. I'm studying ENG and felt like this class was a good challenge, but if ENG isn't your major & you're not up for a challenge DON'T TAKE! textbook is free

Overall she is a great English teacher. She has clear instructions. The papers were easy, she provided everything we needed in order to pass.

This professor is wonderful! She treated me like a human being when I was sick, giving me an extension. All you have to do to get a good grade is follow the directions exactly, and I mean exactly. I will take 1302 from her and also literature. She's very knowledgeable.

I absolutely loved taking 1302 from Ms. Proctor. She's one of the best professors at HCC! I got a C on my first paper, and she worked with me, told me how to improve. It meant a lot that I got an A on the research paper. She talked with me in her office hours. It's great too that the textbook is online and didn't cost anything.

I've never had to work so hard for an A. The assignments are straightforward to follow. Here's the catch, she's a tough grader. It felt like the content of my writing didn't matter as much as my punctuation. Get Grammarly, and follow her examples of citations to a T. Did a 5-week course, we had an essay and discussion due weekly. Textbook is free.
