Dr. Farb is a great teacher who goes out of her way to make sure her students get as much help as they need. I would definitely recomend this teacher

My best friend and I took her in 1997 when we were seniors in high school running start. WE LOVED HER and we both were one of the few that got solid A's in her class. Obviouslly she's great since we still remember her and the material 8 years later! To get an A, make sure you do all the readings!

cool teacher and makes sure that everyone understands. tests are a little difficult but very lenient about grading. make sure to speak up in class it lets her know that you understand

she gives benefit of the doubt if you fudge an answer, and she clarifies if there's any question as to the material. she goes off on random tangents in lecture, but you learn more from those than from the textbook. i completely recommend her 100%.

She's very nice and her class was very informative. The tests were pretty hard, you have to be sure to read the book as well as attend all the lectures, but like someone else mentioned she's pretty lenient with grading. I really enjoyed her class.

I enjoy taking classes with Dr. Farb, she is very fair and posseses a great deal of knowledge in the field of sociology. Im only sorry that I am out of classes to take ( at this school ) in this field.

This teacher is awesome! Very helpful and offers lots of extra credit work to boost grades. I took this class online and would tell anyone to give it a try. Easy class.

I thought this class was kind of boring. Dr. Farb often got off subject. She is nice though, and will give you help if you ask for it. Her quizzes are pretty challenging, but she is very generous about which answers she accepts, plus she lets you bring in several pages of notes for each quiz. There is also several oppertunities for extra credit.

I took Farb for Social Psych and Survey of Sociology. She is very passionate about her subject, sometimes overwhelmingly so. Her lectures are interesting, her assignments are pretty easy and the tests aren't too hard. Pretty good teacher overall.

I took Dr. Farb for more than one class, and enjoyed them both. She teaches the material in a way that I will be able to remember it for years. Also, there are many chances to earn extra credit, and if you go to her office hours, or email her with questions she's EXTREMELY helpful!

Took SOC&101 OL over the compressed summer quarter. Dr. Farb provides links and lectures for the online medium, which doesn't go on rambling and is short & sweet. 3 projects over the course which weren't difficult to say the least. No midterms or finals as well! Just as long as you participate in the weekly discussions, you're good to go + quizes.

She is flat out the best professor I have had at EVCC and she will be the one that I will always remember looking back. She makes lecture fun and enjoyable. She couldn't possibly be more helpful if she tried. She is downright amazing. Classes that I have taken have been fairly easy.

Very easy class. Her class lectures can be somewhat boring. All tests and quizzes online. You only have to go to class if you want lecture notes, but she posts them online sometimes too. A couple easy online projects. The final was an online tests covering 3 or 4 chapters. You get 3 tries for tests. There is extra credit available.

I took the Study of the Family with Barb! She is very nice and down-to-earth! I really enjoyed her class.

I had Dr. Farb over the summer and her online class was awesome! She really lays everything out for you so you know exactly what she wants and she also gives you chances to improve your grade. Lots of reading but a great teasher. I'm now taking her Anthro class and love it!

Dr. Farb is wonderful! I finished her online class yesterday over the summer quarter. It was a lot of work but it was a compressed quarter. She gives every single student the opportunity to earn an A and answers questions quickly, giving great advice on papers. Absolutely the BEST! Take her class, you will be happy with her!

Love her! Communicates her expecations clearly, uses examples in her online class - overall very helpful.

Ridiculous grader! Takes a lot of points off for missing something little. Whole class is worth 100 points and she has no problem taking away points.

I love Dr. Farb! Her lectures were very interesting and I always wished they were longer than 50min. Her quizes and online tests weren't too hard which kept the pressure off (no big tests). Her three projects were simple and challenged me, and she graded fairly. I am taking another class from her and would recommend her to anyone!

She is a great teacher. She is entertaining and has interesting lectures! Her class is fairly simple if you complete all the work. The weekly in class tests aren't hard and the online tests are open book which is nice. If you put forth an effort you will do well. I would recommend her to anybody! She is a sweet and approachable teacher!

I look the class online. Farb is very organized and gives you a calendar with all due dates.All quizzes are open book and you have two tries. She is a fair grader and if she takes away points and you disagree, it is easy to talk to her and recover them. Definitely take her class!

Bev is a great prof. Ive taken two online classes from her now and she is a very organized and helpful prof. She allows two tries on most quizzes and gives plenty of time to get essays and presentations done. I would definitely take her class again. :)

I found this class VERY interesting and fun. Teacher is great, organized, and cares about the students. Pretty good amount of writing assignments but they covered interesting topics so they weren't that bad. About one online quiz a week with two tries and no final. Take this class I enjoyed it a lot and it was pretty easy!

Beverly Farb's Criminology class is awesome! Read text book, two chances for short quizzes weekly, about 5 essays that are pretty short, and a final (she tells you what chps are in it) The teacher was very helpful with answering questions and providing feedback quickly online. Take this teacher!!!

This class was online, so I never met her, but her teaching style is wonderful. I highly recommend taking a class from her. There are a ton of assignments, but if you do the reading and participate in discussion you will pass with no problem.

Wonderful teacher! I love her assignments, they are really great and helpful to really understanding the material.

I love that she gives two attempts on her quizzes! Its a lot of reading, but the assignments are fairly easy. My only complaint in the class was the independent "field work" like surveys or interviewing. However, they are still easy to complete, but I did not like it.

I love Beverly! She is super nice and helpful. This class was enjoyable, but expect a lot of assignments and a couple of essays. If you put in the work, you will pass with a good grade.

I really liked Bev because she was very flexible and always gave wonderful responses. She even let me edit my work to get 100% on assignments! Would take her again if I was staying at EvCC. She is wonderful - take her if you are taking anthropology and/or sociology!!!

This online class is based off 100 Total points- that's it! It is pretty intimidating at first,but it ended dup being fine. Most quizzes are worth 3 points for example, so forgetting about a quiz you are screwed. Every little thing and quiz question that is worth .25 points matters. But she has clear grading so it's an easy A if you pay attention

Dr. Farb is an amazing instructor. She brings her passion for knowledge to her lectures and to her class. Her online structure is fantastic and she even makes it easy to work ahead in case you have scheduling conflicts. Fun projects, great group activities (even online), and fun and interesting quizzes.

Sociology is a REALLY easy class (I took it online) but there is a lot of reading to do, so your textbook is mandatory. The professor replies really fast to emails and gives really clear directions if you have any questions. She's an easy grader and besides the reading, not too much work.

Bev is really great about allowing for second chances at make up work. She is really caring towards the needs of her students and writes great lectures.

Bev is one of the only professors I've had that I felt like actually cared about her students. She gives amazing feedback on assignments, and will allow you to fix assignments to get more points.

Super easy class. Online, different due dates for things. Class consists of four units, each being about three weeks long that typically include 2-5 quizzes (two try's, 15 questions each), one or two lectures you read, and one essay, usually a data survey you create or a book you read. Gives great feedback, always grades at a fast pace.

One of my favorite online teachers. She gives good feedback and responds super fast. The only hard part for me was the amount of reading and lack of interest I had which is why I rate it a 3 difficulty. Either way, don't slack. She reviews your work, tells you what if anything was wrong, and then allows you to go back and correct it for full credit. Making sure that her students understand the subject is a top priority for her and it shows.

Bev has a great grading tactic and makes you work for it although she does allow you second chances to recover docked points. Her lectures aren't painful to read and there was a nice little surprise after we read one of them. Great teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed this class! Glad I waited to take it with her!

Dr. Farb is a really great teacher and the Medicine Across Cultures class isn't too difficult, even for an Online Class. The key is that you have to read and be receptive to the material. Otherwise, you might become lost in the dialog. Even so, she'll give you plenty of chances to make up points.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class and the professor. There was a lot of work with a lot of writing which is expected. While it was an online class, Farb did an amazing job with her posted lectures. I never felt lost and she is always available with great feedback for you to improve. Her response rate was the best I've seen from any professor.

Beverly Farb was a great instructor. She was easy to contact outside of class, the class was engaging, and the assignments were challenging enough but not impossible. As long as you read the textbook and put in the necessary time, the class is enjoyable and definitely doable.

Farb is honestly the best professor I have ever had. Shes super nice and is willing to give second chances. Her lectures are pretty cool! Lots of different input goes into her assignments. Her class isnt hard just read what is given and complete the work. I learned a lot from her and enjoyed her class.

The class is pretty easy IMO. As long as you do the readings and take the quizzes you will do fine. There are a couple survey projects but they are not too complicated. More of a glorified sociology class , but if you are interested in this field you will like this class.

Bev was one of the sweetest, most caring professors I've ever had. Her online class was super easy and mainly consisted of lectures, 10-question quizzes, three experiments, and a couple write-ups. She knows how to get students involved in the course work and is incredibly cooperative and understanding.

This class and professor are amazing. As long as you do the readings and write opinionated and detailed work you'll have no problem. The material and lectures are very interesting especially if your going into the medical field. Farb gives you chances to make up additional points that you may have lost due to incomplete work.

Farb is extremely forgiving. If you are missing a small portion to a response or have a messed up citation she lets you know and will let you resubmit for FULL credit. There are multiple assignments/quizzes due each week but the class is quite mild in workload. She uses the calendar feature of canvas very well so you always know what is due when!

I really enjoyed taking Farbs class. She was super understanding and always allowed you to correct mistakes that you made on assignments. She grades in low incriminates, which can feel weird at first but by the end of the class I really liked it! Participate in all areas and if you do your work, you will get an A. Highly recommend her class!!

To be honest there are not enough teachers like this these days. She cares more about your level of understanding then the detailing of each assignment. With that said, she will point out the details missing and grant you the opportunity to resubmit should you wish. If we really want to change the future we need to invest in more teachers like thi!

Bev Farb gives great lectures and provide excellent resources. She is not only a fair grader but she OFFERED for errors to be corrected on papers and projects (not tests) after the fact and allowed credit to be retrieved. I loved this class.

I took this class for my diversity credit and I loved her class! I found her lectures to be very interesting, it was more about sociology. This class is for non-medical majors. The readings were doable and not boring. The assignments overall were pretty easy. She gives you two chances for quizzes and lets you fix your assignments for points.

I really like her class, she has quiz weekly, but as long as you read the material you are good. If you get something wrong on an assignment she allows you to earn it back by correcting the mistakes. She always responds to my email quickly for question and the difficulty of the assignments are just right where it makes you think, but not hard.

Bev is so friendly and understanding, and a quick grader too! The class had a diverse range of assignments, and none of them were too complicated. She always gave us very detailed explanations for writing assignments, and even examples so you know if you're on the right track.

Amazing. She is one of the only teachers I've had that seems to genuinely want you to understand and care about the material. She also lets you re-submit if you mess something up. She's passionate and well-read about her subject. If you want to take an Anthropology or Sociology class, it should be with her.

I really enjoyed this class. You will have times quizzes on your reading, as long as you do the reading you will do good. She is awesome about getting back to you for questions and clarification. I would highly recommend this teacher.

I loved her class so much, she makes sure you are getting the help you need. She cares about her students understanding more than grades so if it is clear you are putting in the effort she is happy to give you the points for it! she is a delightful teacher and a wonderful person. She will allow you to submit late assignments and fix for points!

I loved Beverly, she writes her own exams and they are straight to the point so not boring and long. She gives you feedback on your works and lets you fix it to get a perfect grade. The class is out of 100 points total which can be scary but she gives you endless feedback and retries to get it all done. She's an amazing teacher.

Very accessible. I have appreciated the dedication and patience Dr. Farb has for teaching. Amazing professor. Really puts the time in for her students.

She's the ideal teacher. Her responses come in quickly, she allows you to correct assignments(I had to make multiple corrections to one paper and she stayed super patient and encouraging throughout), and she offers really helpful feedback. I would take every class with her if I could.

One of the best instructors I've ever had. Cares about her students learning and puts a lot of time and effort to make sure you understand the work rather than just muddle through. Gives you the tools to apply what you're learning to your life and understand her lessons in the real world. AMAZING instructor.

Gives option to redo assignments for 100%. Lots of discussion posts that require outside research, but the prompts are always interesting. Lots of lecture/chapter readings. Easy quizzes. Responds quickly. Overall an easy class with fun assignments, and Dr. Farb seems to care a lot about her students and their opinions!

There were quizzes often but were open note and not too difficult. If you read the material it was no problem. She gave us plenty of extra credit opportunities and if you misunderstood the assignment she was more than happy to let you try again for full credit. By far one of my favorite professors at the school.

Really nice. Let's you redo assignments till you get a hundred. Gives good feedback. What I didn't like was how she organized her Canvas, it was confusing. you needed to click on a lot of links or modules to get the assignment. Has weekly discussions and quizzes(unlimited tries). You read from the textbook, it's free. Gives extensions

Lots of lectures to read, but they are interesting and easy to navigate. She would give grace when you don't turn in assignments or need to get your grade up a bit on some. She is the best.

She's a such lifesaver. It was my last quarter at EvCC and I was going through such a tough time with transferring and moving + mental health. I reached out to her about falling behind on assignments. She's so caring and she made sure to check on me whenever I was unable to submit stuff on time. She gave me full points no matter what.

Dr. Farb is so caring, passionate and excited about what she does, and kind. Her feedback is genuine and helpful and she gives you the chance to edit your work for a higher grade, though she is an easy grader (in my opinion). NO textbook was required for this class as her lectures are all in the modules. She is awesome!

Prof Farb was great! Quizzes are very directly taken out of text from lectures. Everything is posted at the beginning of the quarter so you can work as far ahead as you'd like. She was usally quick to respond when help was needed, & gave clear instructions. Always gave an opprotunity on missed credit in discussion posts. 10/10 take if you can!

Took her asynchronous class over the summer last year. Unexpectedly transferred credit over for my double major of sociology (originally just Econ) at WWU. She gave great reading material, and had really clear grading criteria. Everything was out of 100 points, which made it easy to know how hard to work for your target grade. I really miss her!

Great professor. Every assignment/quiz adds up to 100 points and she allows you to go back and fix assignments to improve your grade. She replies quickly and wants you to succeed in her class.

I liked this course! It wasn't the hardest class I have taken nor the easiest. The professor gives feedback and is a fair grader. Has an organized canvas which I appreciate.

Interesting content, Farb cares about what she lectures, and how well students learn. If you do poorly on an assignment, she'll give you the chance to fix it to get a better grade, which helped my learning process. This class structure is different in that assignments are due every couple of days, which I liked. Great class!

Online Sociology was one of the best classes I've taken so far. Check the grading rubrics, read through the lectures, and you'll be fine. No textbook required, Farb writes her own material and cites everything she presents to the class. Assignments are due every couple of days, but you can work ahead at your own pace. Highly recommend!

Dr. Farb's lectures were amazing and she responds quickly to emails as well as you have many attempts to resubmit the assignments. The answers to quizzes come from her lectures which is nice but there was one bad thing. That is, I had to redo the assignment so many times and I struggled with that but overall it was a great class.

Dr. Farb's expectations are very clear. Her lectures are carefully researched and well-written. She offered upbeat, encouraging feedback for every assignment/quiz I submitted. Prof Farb was one of the most understanding teachers I had. I went though such a hard time at home, and she was so understanding, caring, and gave me all the resources I needed to succeed. Best professor out there. I have had Farb for two classes now, and it's one of the easiest classes of my life. Literally, her grading system is so simple and nice, lectures are actually short and interesting, very easy hw, discussions, and essays would recommend.

I loved Dr Farb's sociology 101 course. She provided great feedback and if you lost points she would always give you the opportunity to retry and receive full points. It is obvious she loves her job and it shows in her teaching. Highly recommend if you take this SOC101 to take it with Dr. Farb.

Great professor, very forgiving with work, and you can resubmit for higher points if you so wish. She gives a couple of weekly writing assignments, but they're typically a breeze, and I'm able to finish them all in one day. You can even work ahead if you like, and as long as you've read through the (great) lectures, the quizzes will be easy.
