HORRIBLE!!! She thinks we can read her mind when it comes to writing each paper and grades unfairly. she definitely should not be teaching. She treats you like your in high school and expects you to know everything. horrible - do not take her!!!!

ms. johnson is a poor example of a teacher and especially a college professor. it is very obvious that she has incredibly low self esteem, and that she is using the college arena to condescend and trash young aspiring students to make herself feel better about her low self image. horrible choice!!!!

Johnson is the most unprofessional individual I've met at CCSU. She has a negative and condescending tone towards students and does not tolerate discussion or debate within her classroom. I highly suggest staying away from all of her courses.

I took her class two years ago and it certainly looks as if nothing has changed. Do any school officials actually care? I was always on the deans list until her class. She is VERY condisending, rud, & should NOT teach!!!!!

This woman will lecture you on and on about how you should be able to do all the work in her class and get a good grade, eventhough she always grades low and does not give suggestive critism. She expects everyone to write at her Ph.D level, and expects your emotions in a required 100 level required class and gives irrelevant assinine essay topics.

This woman is arrogant and ruthless. If your views don't match up to hers, she will simply fail you. She thinks she is a literature God, and dosn't care about teaching. She only wants to show off her own knowledge, not share it.

She has no people skills whatsoever. Not only did I find her extremely rude and condescending, but she was inspid and blatantly disinterested in her students. Johnson relies on her degree as a crutch to compensate for the fact that she's a horrific professor. A total waste of time!

I took her for freshmen comp which shouldn't have been so bad... i thought wrong she talks down to you every chance she gets and is rude. I found her annoying and not helpful at all. Don't do it!!

Horrid. Took her second year class to finish up my second degree...she tore apart a 1000 word essay got a D, but this is after I had a 3.6 GPA and degree from another university in CA. Has an obscene attendance policy and has the nerve to question students on private matters in front of the whole class. Again Horrid.

She gave the majority of our class a D on our first paper. She expects to much from students that are just fulfilling an elective.

Everyone listen up!!! I had her she's awful. But I know how to get back. Us CCSU students need to stick together....what you have to do is speak to the chair of the english department,remember thats her boss. We need to let CCSU know the valuable space she's taking, stand up for yourself and don't be scared. I will help back anyone up!

CCSU should be ashamed- the chair of the English department needs to pay more attention to reviews because any student that has her as their teacher is putting their money down the tiolet. Professor Johnson seems to mean well, but is too caught up in trying to get across her own ideas, rather than spurring yours. She is elusive, vague, and generally seems to be under the assumption everyone thinks like she does. I say Boycott any classes she teaches, and force Central to get rid of her. Has obvious self-esteem issues, if you're going to take any of her classes don't voice your opinion. Hardest teacher ever!!!! Very tough grader...won't get anything more than a C+ on any first draft. Allows you to redo a lot of stuff but even after redoing the grade is still low. Half the class Fails any given quiz,test, or essay. Pretty heavy load of homework too. AVOID!! having this prof.

Worst professor. I used to think I was fairly good at writing, but after this class, my confidence in my ability has severely dropped. She destroys your papers and doesn't give constructive criticism. She avoids answering students' questions and doesn't allow for discussion or others' opinions. AVOID IF YOU CAN.

She is the least effective teacher that I ever encountered. Her technique is terrible (talking to the board while writing, consistently late to class, poor organization of ideas), but her attitude toward students is her greatest liability. She is alternately dismissive and openly antagonistic towards students. Doubleplus ungood.

This could possibly be the biggest waste of your time. DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. I went from always having As and Bs in English to Ds and Fs. NOt because I don't know what I'm doing, but because SHE doesn't know what she's doing. Horrible teacher, horrible skills, horrible class. Refuses to grade anyone with a good grade, lets you re-do essays but still grades them terribly even if you use all of her advice. insists everyone comes to class all the time. she's extremely boring monotone and her writing is illegible. she's the worst teacher ever don't take her class you'll regret it.

I am an English major. All through secondary school, I never thought I would hate my English class. I was proved wrong when I started taking this class.

I used to think I was a great writer, but Dr. Johnson has a COMPLETELY different writing structure than what we learned since middle school. She makes you feel extremely stupid, both in your writing and ideas voiced in class. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! She ruined my outlook on english.

I would not recommend her class to anyone. She is the worst teacher that I've had thus far. Her expectations are unrealistic and she does not value anyone's views, besides her own. Toughest teacher I've ever had. There are no A's in this class and it will be the hardest you ever worked for a B or C. Unclear grading criteria, will take off points for things that aren't wrong. "As fair as you were with your course evaluations, I will be with my grading" -she said to my class before handing in our final papers.

Dr. Johnson is the worst teacher I have ever had. She is not very clear in her grading criteria and gives way too much homework all do the same day. She "corrects" essays by scribbling out your work and writing rude comments next to it. She tells you what not to do instead of what will actually help. Treats you like you're still in high school.

350 characters cannot fit the amount of things I disliked about Prof. Johnson a a teacher. Expect to get an unexcused absence from class if you have a funeral / family member in hospital, even when you explain the situation beforehand. Hard grader, expect to work hard on re-writing every essay you hand in, and be confused on what she expects.

I am not one to talk bad about professors, but this class was seriously tough. I have always done good in school and this class tested my limits. Quite possibly the worst professor/teacher I've ever had in my whole life. I made an appt with her during her office hours and she asked me to leave my paper with her for when I had the meeting. Went to the meeting and she didn't have any clue why I was even there. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES.

She is a horrible professor. The class before us had to ask her to do content analysis of the novels. Is unclear in what she wants, but has strict expectations. You cannot use quotes or reference the novel. Doesn't give constructive criticism.

Professor Johnson is rude, stubborn, unclear, and apathetic. She will assign a vague thesis for an essay and then tell you to rewrite the entire thing if it doesn't meet her EXACT (and often un-specified) requirements. Her chicken scratch raises more questions than it answers, and she shows clear favoritism for some students and disgust for others.

This woman had is one of the worst professors I have ever had in my life. If you have a choice, do yourself a huge favor and do not take this lady's class. She is a terrible teacher, grader, person, etc. Lets you re do essays, but when i turned in my re done essay, she started saying things were wrong on it that she didnt previously mark as wrong!

She really makes you work for your grade, which is a good thing. She's pretty strict on the format of the writing as well. Sometimes, the grading seems a little harsh. She offers A TON of extra credit, so I would take advantage of it so the grades even out. I would also participate a lot if I were you. Was sometimes very rude which was discouraging

This is the worst proffeser I've ever had in my entire college experience. She will make you feel like you're stupid and honestly make you want to bawl your eyes out in front of the class. She responds with smart remarks like "Can you read English??" when you ask a question and she makes you not want to ask any. She will make you want to die.

The professor had a very narrow and dense view on how to write papers and graded them hard, mostly based on her biases and own interpretation. She mostly showed up to class unprepared, and made assignments more complicated than need be. However, she was very accommodating. Nice person, terrible professor. I do not recommend her.

Her syllabus is confusing. The homework assignments are for extra credit points alone, and doesnt tell you until after they are completed. Extra credit can also be taken away. She told my entire class it was mandatory for us to revise every essay assigned and then improves your grade by 0.1-1.3 or will lower your grade completely. DO NOT TAKE HER

Honestly the worst profess. Told my entire class she was shocked about how bad of writers we are and said that we write at the level of 14 year olds. Is rude to anyone even if they are kind to her. Gives class assignments that are only worth extra credit but will take away the extra credit points that took 4 assignments to earn if you dont do one.

Absolute worst prof/teacher I've EVER had. Luckily, I was on her good side and scored a lot of extra credit that helped me out, but she is the hands down most disrespectful human being I know. She wants her own opinions to be placed in your writing. She's manipulative and completely humiliates students in front of others. DONT. TAKE. HER.

I have never been so emotionally abused in my life. I did not miss any class, did every extra credit assignment, went to office hours, revised every paper, worked my butt off and still got a c. The professor grades on subjective opinion and doesn't test any real objective truths. Someone hurt this lady bad. Hurt people hurt people. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Incredible confusing and old fashioned in her teaching. Very hard grader. You will have to do a lot of writing that just wont make sense to you and is extremely boring. She tells you that you will do bad on your first essay, but wont hand back your essay until the day your second essay is due. Your taking a real risk if you take her class.

WORST TEACHER I EVER HAD. She humiliated any kid, even when they would try to participate (WHICH IS REQUIRED FOR EXTRA CREDIT). She never bothered to learn my name or turn on her camera. Would only respond to my emails after I send a follow-up (very hard to get a hold of). If you get her, CHANGE CLASSES.

No matter what the quality of your work is this professor will destroy your grade. She is being a perfectionist for a low level gen-ed course. She acts like you should be producing the work of a grad level English student. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE.

Horrible professor and even worse communicator. I emailed her multiple times with questions about assignments throughout the semester and never once received an email back. I had no choice but to wait until class to ask any questions I had because she was also not available during her scheduled office hours.

Do not recommend. I took her online class and she never turned on her camera or shared a screen of a lecture. There are only a few assignments that determine your entire grade. She is an extremely difficult grader and very specific about what she wants in an essay. I follow what she says to do exactly and get D's. Don't recommend at all.

If you want your GPA to be destroyed then take her WRT110 class. She is a tough grader and wants everything to be perfect in an entry level college writing class. Make sure you do extra credit because you're going to need it. Even if you try your hardest on all her writing assignments you'll probably receive a C- or lower. Good luck.

You can do everything that is written in the instructions and still get a D. There are 5 assignments for this course, and you won't receive feedback on them until its too late. I would not recommend taking this class to anyone, regardless of your skill at writing, as generally the strange requirements will result in papers being worse than before.

I felt like in this class I could not do anything correct in this class, I tried my hardest and it still wasn't enough. The readings are interesting but she is a touch grader, she barley responds to emails and questions so good luck. I suggest trying another professor unless you are a top tier writer.

Professor Johnson's needs and wants for this level one course, absolutely ridiculous. Most of us were freshmen, coming into college after having our senior year of high school online due to the pandemic, and she did not care. Not lenient at all, can follow instructions to a T and still fail. Extra credit isn't even worth it. Never taking her again.

Forgets what we are doing in class. Takes grades on old notebook and never on blackboard so you’ll never know your grade. Only offers half point for extra credit after giving the whole class a terrible grade for doing everything she asked for. Always a few minutes late.

She was absolutely horrible. Only bases things off her opinion. No matter how hard you try, it is never good enough. I absolutely hated this class, never left class on time. Professor Johnson was unbelievably unfair and rude with her grading and teaching. She assigned several essays each of which she graded unfairly and would belittle you when you asked questions about the grade you received. She seemed to grade at random and you would never get a grade reflective of your work. Incredibly rude and condescending avoid.

Professor Johnson is a very questionable professor to say the least. I wrote a 10 page paper and she gave me a D! How fair is this? I put in so much effort into her class, just for her to toss my paper and basically call it trash. If you want to keep your mental health in-check, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

I would be remiss to call her an educator. No knowledge is found in her course, only ridicule. Expect lectures to be uninformative and monotonous, and for any student questions to be left unanswered, with rude quips as the usual response. Your essay is a 67 at best, you are wrong to think otherwise. 15 minutes, 15 hours, still a D, doesn't matter.

If you can avoid taking this class with this professor please do. She will only give you a good grade if you can read her mind and write exactly what she would write for her assignments. Even if you go to office hours she won't help you understand the assignment, she will make you feel as dumb as possible for asking for help. AVOID at all costs!!

This professor rambles the entire class and is extremely hard to follow. She makes students present often alone and in groups and tries to put students on the spot by asking many in-depth questions after the presentation. She does not answer emails or follow up emails. She only likes writing that is written the exact way she would write it

She doesn't use blackboard so You'll never know your grade unless you calculate it yourself. All assignments must be printed and handed in. her office hours are one on one so hard to actually get help. Her attitude is a bit sparky. She talks a lot about nothing class is a drag. Super tough grader.

Avoid this professor if you value your sanity. She's extremely tough on grading, often belittling students and not providing helpful feedback. However, using tools like Unstuck ai can help prepare for her class.

Do not take WRT 110 with her. She is not nice at all. You can't read her feedback because her handwriting is so messy, it's unreadable.

This teacher only gives out D's no matter how much time you spend writing it. She has horrible handwriting and scribbles all over your paper which is completely ineligible. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. If you try to participate she will bash you if you are wrong, often correcting students in a derogatory manner.

Grading structure is unclear, professor cannot tell why you receive a certain grade. Feedback on written work is illegible. Professor takes pride in not giving anyone an "A" . Teaching style is abrasive. Professor requests input from students on subjective work and she ridicules input that she believes is "incorrect." AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I have not heard of a student earning over a 65 on an essay in her class. Way too difficult for an intro writing class. She doesn't post anything, so if you lose a sheet you're done. She also doesn't post grades, so it's pretty much impossible to know my grade. Reading her comments on your paper is impossible, even she can't decipher it.

She grades on a scale that's doesn't make sense. It had to be exactly how she wanted or you get a low grade. Every one in my class received low grades even when following her instructions.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR!!! She will make your life very difficult! She is a very tough grader and gives out ridiculously low grades no matter how hard you try. Her handwriting is also very messy, and she doesn't post grades on the blackboard. Do not take her class unless you want to ruin your GPA!

Grading is extremely unrealistic, especially for a 100 level course. If you have the opportunity to take anyone else, I strongly recommend you do!

You cannot read any of the feedback she gives on your assignments which is just not helpful at all. The grading for this class is atrocious, especially for freshmen. It was to the point where one of the students in my class passed around a paper for every student to sign so he can take it to the board of ed. (everyone signed.) I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

She barely does anything in class and with the essays that you wont get a good grade on pretty much guaranteed and you wont be able to tell why because you cant read her handwriting.
