She is not helpful at all. Class is pointless because you don't learn anything.
Had her for FBC my freshmen year. I thought she was really cool. She was very nice and could get on the students' level. I liked the way she talked.

Had her for a summer class...She isn't very smart but the class is easy and she let us out a week early. She likes to talk about jesus alot.
Beverly can be a little disorganized and doesn't have very good time managment skills. The material is not hard and you must ask questions. She does use a lot of ebonics which is really distracting. Capsim is a lot of the class and it's HARD. She's overall a REALLY great lady with a lot to offer!!!
She should be a kindergarten teacher, not a college professor. At first, it's hard to tell if she's serious or patronizing you with her little comments (i.e., "that's super!!). I learned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, except that she can't speak English very well.

Had her for an early class. Seemed very easy at first, she gave many quizzes and a few bonus points. But I noticed that she treats the smart ones like her own children, and her tests are insanely hard. COBOL isn't that hard, though it is stressful. I am good at COBOL, but not her class.
She started out easy, but then she would change her mind about dates and times. She confused the majority of the class. Her final was near impossible with the amount of knowledge she gave us. Very poor teacher in my opinion.

Wow! I thought by taking this class in the summer it would be easier.YEAH RIGHT! She pretty much SUCKS all the time. She was good for the 1st few days, but then overnight she changed. Her test and quizzes are nothing like what she says they are going to be. If I were you I would find somebody else. She should be fired. She only cares about herself.
1) Piss poor english speaking ability. 2)PMS mood almost everyday. 3)Praises the christian faith, yet acts like satan. 4)Because of premise #3, makes you want to be an athiest. 5)Horrible time management, actually no sense of organization. 6)Majority of people(99%) have a hard time with her. CONCLUSION)Avoid this **** at all costs.
Very nice teacher, but very unorganized with her syllabus and communication with the class. Deadlines were very unclear. Her teaching style is not good for me, because everything she says is straight from powerpoint slides. This is a pointless class in the curriculum for what it actually is. I wish you could test out of it. It's for junior high.
Hated the class and her for most of the semester, but trust me there is light at the end of the tunnel. She really wants to see the students succeed and is always around to answer questions. One big complaint is that she starts class early and ends it late and everytime you're "late" you get points deducted. Moral of the story-BE EARLY! "God Bless
Horrible teacher who wasn't clear on the assignments or projects that needed to be done. Her tests didn't consist of anything on the study guide. And MOST OF ALL, I DONT CARE IF YOU LIKE LIME PIE!!!
she's freakin crazy. do not take her. she teaches at 730--forget that--she's really really crazy in the early morning and very moody. as far as what she's teaching you, she's not too clear about most stuff but she holds good review sessions before tests. studying is a good thing in this class. barf on the class.
She's pretty funny and nice. The class itself is not very difficult, just study the powerpoint slides and your notes before the test.
Well, she tries to be nice, overly so. Does talk to the class like they are in grade school. Gets easily annoyed when no one answers her, not very clear questions. Teaches from PowerPoint than nothing else. NO syllabus what so ever. Poorly uses the Black Board Announcement system. Gets lost on examples. But she really REALLY likes accounti
Overly instructive and clear. Assignments are well laid out and expectations are clear. She's more than willing to help out if you have questions or just need some help on an assignment. Excellent teacher. Judging her by business connections students skews how good of a prof. she is comparatively (freshman haven't taken much to compare to)
Extremely poor communication skills. Poor managment of class projects. Presents large quantities of information, but no substance. Unable to give "clear and precise" directions concerning team projects. Team projects are extremely time consuming outside of class. Overall structure of class assignments throughout the semester were poorly planned.
what an absolute joke, I wouldn't enroll my pet dog into this pathetic miserable class. Mrs. "Keep'n It Real" McDaniel needs to find new employment, the world of professorship is not for her. what an absolute joke.
Bev is great! The class is very boring, but her tests come from her powerpoint slides and she is always telling a funny story. Not real clear on some things, but for the most part not a bad teacher.
McDaniel does a good job teaching Business Foundations. The problem isn't her at all but the class itself. I've taken the class before with Caldwell (who "retired")and McDaniel is 10x better, though the course is still difficult because of how it is designed nonetheless.
I was nervous from the score here. She is not as bad as everyone makes her out to be.But,I will say the students can make or break the class. She is cool with us;jokes around, laid back, laughs, and teaches well.It helps to have a few people who know the answers to help the class move along. She does get irked if no one speaks up.I would take her again.
Most of the people who have rated her before should have paid more attention to what she was teaching, rather than how she was talking. It really isnt that serious. She was very helpful out of class; test are easy- from powerpoints and definitions from the book; assignments are clearly stated, sometimes junior high like. Overall, easy if you try.
Horrible teacher, Unorganized and doesn't seem to have a good understanding of the business simulation she teaches. Go to class because she gives random extra credit.
The class isn't that bad, just make sure you keep up with the thousands of little assignments that she puts on blackboard. That was the hardest thing for me, just keeping up with all the busy work. Other than that if you study a little it is not a hard class, just keep up.
Fairly easy class if you keep up with all of the busywork assignments. Also, it helps if you are in a good group for the capsim program.Bev has a hard time communicating with her students. She is extremely unclear on her grading system.she has a hard time answering ANY questions in a way that will help students understand better.Avoid at all costs
Just do all of the assignments. She holds your hand throughout the whole class. Feels more like a high school class. But hey, whose complaining about that?
McDaniel was very unclear on her assignments. Her grading was very difficult. She would always find little mistakes to count off on your grade even if it was something minor. I would never EVER take another class from her again....
Foundations is a required class, so you might as well make the most of it. Bev's class isn't too hard but it is a little scattered and hard to keep up with the homework assignments. The Capsim and Marketplace simulations seem random but if you spend time on them, you'll get a good grade. For her tests, memorize the notes she gives you and vocab.
If you want a class where the grade scale she comes up with in the start of the class is just a general guideline then take this class. SHE WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING AT LEAST THREE TIMES. Quizes are worth way more then she lists so go to class and take all the little B.S. class participation quizes, they add up.
She wasn't that bad. Always said crap about best thing since sliced bread... I did pretty good just go to class and do your work
She's a decent teacher. The class is easy, you have to work though. Go to class and you won't have to much of a problem. The only complaint I have is she crams to much into the class! If your taking this in the summer make it your only class! At times she is unclear on what is expected, you have to stay on top of her so you stay straight!
She is a nice person who genuinely cares about students. That said, she has horrible organizational skills... does not stay on schedule, confuses everyone, forgets to make very time-consuming assignments (that you have to schedule w/ your team outside of class) until the last minute, but still expects you to get it done. I got an A in spite of her.
She was not a bad teacher although she does give you lot of homework. I took her for summer and it was my only class. The class isn't hard if you pay attention to her in class. The tests are fairly easy, mostly from powerpoint slides and vocabulary from book. I would recommend taking her.
I don't know why people think she is so bad. She is funny and tries to "keep it real" she does give silly homeworks but they are crossword puzzles so if you can't do that you probably shouldn't even be in college! Her test are easy and you don't do much at the end of the glass except a group project. I recommend taking her
She is one of the best teachers I have had at the U of A. She makes class interesting and always relates class to things we can associate ourselves with. Keeps everyone involved in class. "Keeps it real" as she says so much. I have learned things that have and will help me out in things other than the class. The one class I look forward to.
I dread this class! Uses black attitude all the time. Unorganized and unclear about everything. Dont expect to learn anything that you cant teach yourself. She makes you have name tags so she can randomly call on you to quote things out of the book. Capsim sucks. If youre not in a good group youre screwed.
this class was a joke. an absolute joke. the worst class i have ever had in my entire life hands down. never take her class ever, especially if you dont want to hear about her lime pie.
Not a good teacher. Tests are impossible. Book is completely unorganized. She uses ebonics regularly. She has a poor attitude and should no longer be teaching.
people who say the tests are impossible must be ignorant. an A is very attainable and Bev is an interesting teacher.
Maybe not the most clear teacher on everything but she's willing to help anyone. She's fun, but also very professional. Go to class everyday, pay moderate attention, do the out of class work, and you'll be fine. Be blessed Big Bev.

Beverly is a reasonably nice person and will try to help you if you have a problem in class. Unfortunately, the positive comments end there. She is ridiculously disorganized, gives lots of busy work, is not particularly knowledgeable about her subject and is not very intelligent to boot. Overall, one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Avoid her.
She is an awesome professor, although she is a little bit weird, she helps her students and is there for you when you need help. Her quirks are funny to watch, but overall she really tried to teach the material and get us involved. And that's for real.
Professor McDaniel is a great teacher. She's fun to listen to in class even though the material can get boring. She keeps it light hearted and has a passion for teaching which makes it enjoyable. You do group work so maker sure if you have a problem with your group to inform her because at the end of the year...it's too late.
She is a bit on the boring side at times but overall is a great teacher. She knows what she is talking about so it makes it easy to ask questions and clarify if you have any problems. She has started to give alot of bonus this year and that helped me pull off an A and go to class you get points just for going.
She's really not that bad. She gives you powerpoints so that you won't need to read the book, and has some bonus opportunities near the end of the semester. You should do fine, just do your simulation consistently and buckle down near the end when it comes to accounting.
Gives lots of busywork. Stay on top of it and you will do fine. Tests are a breeze. Seriously, if you cannot make at least a B in Beverly's class, college may not be for you...
She seems to have a pretty bad attitude and is frustrating at times. The class seems really pointless with a lot of busywork. Dont get on her bad side because you will get "The Scowl for the rest of the semester."
The material is super boring and she doesn't make it much better. The tests are really easy though
Lectures are very boring. Hope to get a good to for the business simulation. Overall she is an okay teacher.
Pretty understanding teacher. there is a lot of busy work that you would have to remember to do. Offers help if you need it, just read over the material and come to come to class. She is very into Accounting, so be sure you pay attention with that information. Her Ebonics was amusing in class and claims to always "keep it real" with you.
I LOVE BEV and you will too! I made C's on all three tests, but I stayed on top of busy work and did well on the simulation and got an A. She's awesome and is always "keepin it real".
I did not enjoy the class, and I found it pretty pointless (but it was required) However, Prof McDaniel was awesome, I loved her. She was funny and really knew what she was talking about. Class was hard but did all the work and extra credit and I got an A. Simulation was hard but it's not her fault.
Teaches directly from Power point slides, and does not elaborate. If you do stop by her office to get help, she directs you to the textbook without saying where to look in it. Tests are hard, and the only way to pass them is to read the text. Clearly shows favoritism to students who do well, and is'nt helpful to those who struggle. DO NOT TAKE HER
she is a great professor that really know the topic of the course. Print off daily slides and take notes compared to your readings. If you read before class you will be on top of you game. Simulation key points are to borrow alot of money and stick to a strategy. The green book she gives you is priceless tools to rockin out your industry. BestLuc
The class is very boring and she just read PowerPoint slides. There is a lot of busy work you have to do. Tests are hard; if you wanna pass them, you have to read all the text. She likes to make jokes with guys, but has bad attitude to pretty girls. Do not take her.
The new accounting chapters that were added to this class are very hard. She lacks the teaching skills to help students comprehend. However, if you do good on the simulation and HW's then you'll get a good grade. I finished with a B and I really didn't understand the last chapter of accounting. She is a nice person but also sassy and annoying.
Alright- If you want a non-biased reflection of the class as a whole this is what you need to read. Prof=SASSY,but knows what shes talking about..book is helpful and do PRACTICE PROBs.only the third test was hard in my opinion..it had lots of accounting eqns.and all the other tests were 80% definition based & Handouts!look at old tests 4 final exam
i loooooove beverly mcdaniel. she is so funny and makes the class fun. she says funny stuff sometimes like "keeping in real" or "blaze blaze" but i love that because class doesnt seem so boring! i think she knows what shes talking about and is pretty chill for the most part. HIIGHHLYYYY RECOMMEND!
Prof McDaniel is one of the best teachers i've had at UofA. She takes the time to explain everything and answers questions clearly so you understand. She is very funny and is engaging with her students. FYI if you answer questions she asks the class faster the class time flies by. Blaze blaze blaze is her fav term i believe. Love having her here!!
Beverly is a great teacher. She takes her time explaining things and is constantly engaging her students with questions pertaining to what she is teaching. She gives little quizzes every one and awhile and some bonus. Great teacher and easy A if you put the effort in. Take her.
Beverly is not very good, she's hard to understand and she doesn't teach much. She reads from the slides and doesn't help much with the group Capsim project. She throws you into it and doesn't prepare you much for the test. She does review over the slides all the time, but you don't have to go to class because she post them online
Poor quality, bad teacher. Sassy Mavis Beacon teaching accounting, not typing. She is one of the few teachers I've ever had that actually seemed to make things harder when she explained them. Classes are pure Power Point, and are boring. You're on your own with the Capsim! Lazy when it comes to giving directions. I wouldn't take her if I were you.
Not a terrible teacher like some seem to claim. Explained the accounting sections and beginning sections well. CAPSIM was somewhat confusing, and probably could have been explained more clearly. Overall, she was better than many of my other professors. Just do your assignments and bring a laptop to class so you don't use 2,000 trees.
Extremely helpful. Somewhat time consuming class. Tests are not that bad if you review the night before and understand the homework. Towards the end of the semester you want to go to class because she gives in class assignments and Final is HARD. overall great teacher.
She's a very helpful teacher and one of the better bfound profs. the tests aren't too hard if you study the material and hangouts. attendance is mandatory after midterms bc of in class assignments.
Slow in getting grades up to blackboard. However, she is a pretty good teacher and not too hard. Much better than several of the other Business Foundations options.
Good prof for ERP 1. Attendance is not mandatory but if you skip you'll miss in class quizes and Simulations (which account for about 60% of your grade). She definitely knows what she is talking about and is extremely helpful. Definitely a good professor to have!
She is a great teacher for Bfound! Very helpful and always happy to speak to you about any concerns you have! I definitely recommend her!
Very helpful in B-Found. Our group started doing poorly on our simulation and she helped us a lot by taking individual time with our group to see where we were going wrong and help us get back on track. She does in class activities that really help you understand the information. If you fail her class it will be bc you didn't show up for class.
Beverly does not teach what will be on the homework in class. You have to use the online book in order to make a decent grade on tests or homework. She's a nice lady but not a very good teacher. She is helpful with capsim but her suggestions are very vague .
AWFUL.......just AWFUL
Horrible professor. Had her for both business connections as well as Bfound. Does little to work with students, posts grades later than any other proffesor. For example won't post test grades until weeks after test. Makes class very boring and never lets outs early. Regardless I ended up with an A in Bconnections and C in Bfound.
I had her for Business Foundations and would not recommend her. She reads off of her power point slides and is not very willing to go more in depth with explanation. She will answer questions about Capsim if you visit her office hours, but beware, she will probably make you feel dumb for coming in.
Had her for several Information Systems classes, as well as BFound. For BFound: Not great, but that class just sucks in general, regardless of professor. Much better professor for ISYS classes. Very knowledgable, but usually flies through the material and is not clear on how to do assignments/projects. If you can keep up, you'll get a good grade.
Show up and pay attention, read the book, and send up a prayer before the tests. Easy B but a very hard A.
Great Professor and easy class. If you go to class she will walk you through every step you need to complete projects. She does take attendance the whole semester so go to class specially during group projects. If you don't sign in on group days you don't get those points. Take here ISYS class at all costs.
Show up and youll get a decent grade
Easy basic class. If you don't know access or excel make sure you go to class and pay attention in lectures. Get in a good group because you have to do three projects with them. She is nice enough to give plenty of in-class time to complete assignments, and walks you through step by step if you have questions.
She is one of the best professors I've had. She genuinely loves her students and wants you to listen. The homework is very easy if you show up to class. The quizzes are difficult if you just skim over the material. No tests is the best part!
No tests and only 10 quizzes for the whole semester. Most of the quiz questions were right off her powerpoint. You have to do several group project, but they fairly easy to do. Easy B for sure but you have to work semi-hard for an A.
She is one of the best professors that I have taken here. Extremely helpful and walks you step by step through any problems. Always shows up to class upbeat and inspirational. If you go to class everyday, follow along, and work well with your group then its an easy A. No need in getting the book because we didn't use it once. NO FINAL EXAM!
This is class is way harder than it should have been because you really learn nothing in this entire class
She breaks it down into small steps. I really enjoyed her class. If you miss class you're going to get really behind.
She goes really slow so it can be boring sometimes, but once the harder stuff comes around you will be glad she does. Many assignments and quizzes. If you don't understand something she will go out of her way to make sure you do. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss you will be way behind. Wish I could take her for all my ISYS classes.
Very nice and helpful. Lots of hands on work in class, which makes the homework a lot easier since you learn by doing it in class first.
Good class, she explains material well in class. Assignments are tough if you don't take a lot of notes on how to do stuff in class. Lots of easy quizzes.
This class is an easy B, but a very hard A. If you miss class you will fall way behind. Everything on the homework and quizzes she does in class, but the assignments are very long. You have to know your stuff on the test to pass. Would take again if needed.
Best Information Systems professor. Take her if you can and go to class. Walks through assignments and very helpful. Weekly quizzes but they are straightforward from lectures or outside research.
Loved ERP with her! She really does love what she does and will be more than willing to help in any way possible!
Mrs. McDaniel is a very good teacher. She really cares about her students and wants to help you. The tests are a little wordy but doable. Huge group project but very easy.
She goes step by step Cares for her student! Awesome teacher!
Great teacher, really cares for her students. Group simulation for the entire semester, but tests are not difficult. Awesome teacher.
How does she have a low rating?! she is THE BEST teacher! I had her for summer 1 along with an ERP class, and she explains everything in every detail. she truly cares for her students and wants them to pass. theres no way to fail this class unless you do no work. she is so caring.
shes nice just compared to other professors who teach this class she isn't the best. she drags out lessons that should be super short. class is solely based off attendance basically, you lose an A if you miss more than 2 times. like I said nice, but would pick someone else.
If you go to class it's an easy A. If you skip, you miss a lot when it comes time for the assignments. She teaches like an instruction manual which is so helpful when you're working in Excel and Access. The class can get boring because of this but you'll still get an A
In her class you will gain a lot of practical knowledge. However, be prepare to take notes because studying from slides won't be enough as her exams are tough and specific. The class consists of three projects, an alternative project in case you didn't do well, twelve quizzes, and three exams. There is no final.
Professor Hodges is a sweetheart who wants nothing more than for her students to be successful. That being said, she doesn't tolerate laziness, but as long as you put effort in, she'll be willing to help you do your best.
I love Professor Hodges, she puts a smile on my face when I attend her class. It doesn't get easier than her at the University of Arkansas.
