Attitude problemm, acts fake and has a God-like complex. He is a good prof> knows how to teach, but he is hard in terms of exams.
He doesn't know how to teach. show off his degree.don't have any responsibility to his students. hard to understand his English. He is not a good teacher.
no comment...
He is absolutely the worst professor! He does not kno how to teach at all! His lectures are mindlessly dull and intolerable. It's just horrible to allow this man to teach. He just does not care! Also he has the worst attitude, he acts as if he's all that. He's so FAKE!
omg, he is the worst teacher u'll have at sju. he is so rude to his students, he got an attitude prob, and he picks on u in class if u sleep or laugh. his tests are def hard, his eng is so bad, and his class is soooo boring. and he doesnt know how to each well either.
This teachers class is HARD!! He is very strict and his tests are really hard if you don't know the stuff inside out. He does have good command of the subject and teaches well. If you study your ass off you can get a good grade.
I liked his class a lot. if you go to class, pay attentions and follow his rules you will do great in his class. review you notes as he teaches new things, and ask him questions. he is very willing to help, and clarify things. i dont know why people complain about him.
He is the rude, impatient, and uncompassionate teacher of all St. John's, best advice if you see his name on your schedule is to ask for an IMMEDIATE change.
this prof. is very rude 2 the students, doesn't know how 2 speak english that well, he wears a UNIFORM to class!!! he thinks he is all that with a million degrees.he might know somewhat an idea of the material but doesnt know how 2 teach, just knws how to rd pwrpt slides, and his exams r stupid dumb!
exams very hardd
he has a stong accent, but once you get through that you will understand him. he explains things pretty good. just study and will get a A in class.
um i dont know what everyone is talkin about...his accent isn't even that difficult to understand. Yeh he has an accent..but you can understand him. No need to over-dramatize. Anyway, yeh his exams are difficult. If you study the text and his notes, you'll be fine.
horrible teacher
IT is so difficult to understand his lectures. His packets are really easy compared to his exams. More than a handful dropped the class..Good luck passing this class!
Okay he has an accent, big deal its not like u cant understand him.Hes a great teacher you learn alot from him BUT his tests are hard as hell thats why he has bad ratings...u have to study like a week in advance for his tests and must go to class BUT if you want to learn hes a great professor, JUST STUDY and it will be alright! Tests are in detailed
(For the sake of argument), he is a very good teacher, but exams are hard (because of simple reason) he wants us to (solve the problems, not to take a sledge hammer and fight the problem). Good teacher, but tough on exams. Gives very easy examples in class, and in test are very hard. Study text book problems, not his problems. ()= his famous lines
MAN THIS GUY IS TOUGH...HIS TESTS ARE HARD AS HELL. HIS TESTS ARE VERY DETAILED AND THE QUESTIONS ARE ALL IN K-TYPE WITH NONE AND ALL OF THE ABOVE PRESENT..I STUDY 10 DAYS STRAIGHT (ONLY STUDYING PHARM 24/7) BEFORE ALL HIS EXAMS AND ENDED UP WITH A C..BY THE WAY IF UR FAILING DROP THE CLASS CAUSE HE WILL FAIL U IF U EVEN HAVE A 59.3 AVG! GOOD LUCK!
Take advantage of the first exam b/c the other two will not be any easier! Know his notes and you will pass! some test questions are tricky, but most are fair.
he is simply the best.
You will probably do well on his first test. The second test is much harder, and the final is fair. His questions can be tricky. Focus on his lecture to the last word, because he will test on the smallest detail. The math problems are not as hard as Madans. Don't fall asleep in his class, he will call you out on it.
He explains things wonderfully. Don't ever miss a class or you'll fall behind, every single day is important. First exam is a little tricky but decent. Second exam doesn't seem hard but there are tricks so keep your eyes open. Third exam wasn't that easy but do-able. You have to keep up and you'll learn a lot with him.
Can't teach a thing. Stay away from him. Taking his course is useless since he doesn't teach well, is biased, and his tests are tricky and hard. He is out there to fail you and would never help you if you go to him.
He's a very nice professor!!!!
I don't know why other people dislike Rohera. The only complaint I have: his lectures put me to sleep and I need like 3 bottles of water to stay awake in those 2 hours. His teaching pace is unbearable (slow), but he is CRYSTAL CLEAR. Exams test on LISTS of things - yes, know every single detail (ex: ingredients)! I study 1 day before his tests -> A
Dr. Rohera is a nice man and his tests are pretty tricky. You need to know your stuff entirely and back and forth to do well. He goes over things in his lectures several times so that helps. I think the last test had the most material, but I liked that test the most. Very approachable if you have questions.
i had him ceutics and everything is off his powepoints and details he says in class..if you study his notes everyday you'll be fine...he kinda hard but not as bad as other professors...very anal about eating in class...but def doable if you put in effort...
Ok Quality
Worst!
very rude,impolite,class is doable,he's biased
intimidating, tricky, would not want him again.
"Let me tell you one thing"...seems intimidating at first but really isn't. Don't email him, go to office hours. Explains things well in class, but the tests are very difficult, much harder than handouts. Final was mostly didactic.
Forget about it!
hard but not impossible....1st test math is hard and for the last 2 tests memorize and understand the concepts the math for the last two is easier. and dont go to bathroom/ talk/ sleep he will call u out
can't understand anything he says and he's really horrifying to look at. i'd suggest another professor!
out of the handful number of students in my class .... my hand is almost ful counting the number of students he harassed.... i agree students were irresponsible... but he thinks one students mistakes are other's too .... he keeps grudges on students for missing a class . for coming late ... even if u die on the way inform him.. other wise u r gone
He's been teaching for 25 years so that "justifies" how no one can correct him without getting a personal vendetta targeted at them. Completely rude and inconsiderate to students during office hours and looks at his computer the whole time. Paying attention in class, memorizing conversions & looking at the slides will get a solid C+ in the class.
GPA homicide. Tests are hard and you'll find yourself second guessing on them. Run the other way!!
Takes attendance but never tells you. There is no eating, sleeping, drinking, or talking in his class. Exams are all mc and extremely difficult. The questions are NOT from the slides. Do well on the first 2 exams because he curves (will deny he does) them and only them. Try to attend class and record lectures. Average grade is a C- 2 As out of 100.
the most condescending professor you'll ever meet. attendance isn't mandatory but if you don't show up to class he will hate you. you can't eat or drink anything but water in the class. his tests are very tricky compared to what he teaches in class
Do yourself a favor and never take this mans classes. Hes biased cant teach and will never help you even if you ask. Take EMS3 Squillante if you can because even if EMS3 is hard at least he teaches and you will know what your are getting up front
The midterm is hard because of mass conversions. He asks you to convert gallons into ounces etc. There is not a lot of time to convert so you must memorize. One of the answer choices is always "none of these". Do the textbook problems to pass. Know least weighable, BSA, abbreviations, dosing calculations, partition coefficient. Read non math slides
The first exam not midterm, asks you to convert large quantities into Grains and Gallons into mL. You need to know avoirdupois apothecary differences. For the 2nd exam, know Dilution, specific gravityvolume, and percent concentration calculations + molarity & molality. Know the properties of each ingredient like alcohol and glycerin. Know sugars
The final has 40 questions. Questions 32-40 were based on the acid-base questions done in class, so just study the review sheet he gives for that part. For the other questions MEMORIZE EVERYTHING ABOUT STERILIZATION, and READ up on buffer capacity (not just the math). The non-math questions ask you to pick which statements are true. I, II or IIi.
Even with going to class and reading every word in every chapter and understanding all the material as best I could, his tests are still impossible. The math questions are easy but his concept questions are horrible. Answers are: I is true, II is true, III is true, or all or none of the above. Very confusing and unfair.
He's nice and is funny sometimes. You have to memorize every word of the slides. 2 exams and a final. His exams are hard, he curves but you can't always rely on it. If you show up to class stay on his good side, he has a good memory and is good with names so he won't forget easily. Do not eat, talk, or get up in class or he will hold it against you
If you eat, drink, talk, smile, laugh, take bathroom break ( yes!!), doze off, email, question-counter-question, present boring/disinteresting face be ready for one response from him - Solid C or lower grade!
Example of his exam questions: I is true, II is true, III is true, I and II is true, II and III is true, all is true, none is true. Good luck guessing on his exams. He stares at you if you dont go to class. Know everything on slide, read it over 25 times, you will still get a D on your midterms. Good luck.
Talks throughout the entire lecture. Doesn't ask any questions. Repeats certain concepts 10 times. Gelatin MW 20,000-200,000. Tests r extremely hard (T/F, I only, I and II, all of the above, none of the above, etc.), but probably not as bad as ESM3's tests. Gives slides for all lectures. May be hard to understand with accent. Off topic sometimes.
Well he knows a lot about all the topics he teach! He is very knowledgeable and you can learn a lot in his class, but if it's not topic of interest you might just end up sleeping! It's long and at times boring. His tests are really hard!!! Especially the concepts questions, BEWARE!! You don't need the textbook, just try to understand the lectures!
Pay attention and take notes like your grade depends on them. Sitting towards the front helps you stay focused. He's one of the best teachers I've had here. He's very knowledgeable and welcoming to questions. Also, reading the textbook (library has it) helps with understanding. Be respectful and show effort, and I'm pretty sure he will remember you
Although attendance is not mandatory, go to every class and take notes (the little details)! His test may be very specific - certain temperatures, etc. that you have to memorize. Textbook use is not necessary at all, just study slides and notes.
Will fail you
write down EVERY LITTLE DETAIL of what he says. he tests you like he's testing how photographic your memory is. also do not use notes from another class because the tests are different for each class. attendance is not mandatory but it will affect his perception on you and your curve. i didn't study as hard for DNDs as i did for his class.
He's a very good professor so if you go to class and pay attention you will definitely do well. His exams are tough, but if you pay attention is class they are definitely doable. Don't need to use the textbook, just understand his slides completely and you'll be fine. Definitely would take him again.
He is a very good professor and excellent at teaching. His tests are manageable as long as you pay attention and memorize his slides. Does not require reading of the textbook. His math is long but straight forward. Also, you must attend class because he pays attention to everyone present. Overall, one of the best professors out there.
He's a really great professor who loves teaching the material, cares about students, and he shows he genuinely cares about his students. Tests are quite difficult, and you must go to class and take notes on everything he says. Overall he is one of the best professors i've seen at st johns, and would recommend him to anyone.
Very low voice so his lectures were kind of hard to understand and his tests were VERY hard. He doesn't let people eat, drink, talk, touch their phones, or even go to the bathroom except during a 5 min break. He does know what he's teaching tho and if u pay attention, go to office hours and MEMORIZE his ppts you'll do good.
One of the worst professors ever, if you get him try and switch out. You have to MEMORIZE every single word on his 40paged packets. He speaks very low and doesn't let you record his lectures. Contradicts himself A LOT! Doesnt explain math well at all youre better off figuring it out yourself. Tests are all multiple choice and VERY TRICKY. RUN!!!
I thought he was a GOOD teacher because he actually knows what he's talking about. Speaks low so sit in the front to hear what he's saying. Make sure you take notes during class because he throws stuff on his exams that aren't in the packets. His exams are very HARD and you have memorize everything in his packets to do well. He also curves
Very smart and knows what he is talking about. Things can get confusing in class, go to him to office hours to help. Will not allow food/drinks/bathroom breaks in class except during the 5 min break. Take notes on what he says (& repeats 2-3x) bc that will def be on exams. Exams are rough, but he curves the highest grade to 100. Overall, doable.
Dr. Rohera is the man. He is by far the best professor St. John's has to offer. He is quite strict but if you show up and pay attention during class you will succeed. He curves highest grade to 100 and bell curve from there, the best grading system you could ever ask for. Hardest yet most rewarding class I have taken.
literally whispers EVERYTHING. will harass you and make you uncomfortable if you go to the bathroom during class. claims he doesn't care if you don't come to class or don't pay attention but "mentally takes attendance every class" and will literally stop the class to call you out if you're not paying attention. drop immediately.
Drop it while u can!!! the math he does in class is nothing like he gives on tests. he does curve the tests but even with curves people fail miserably. make sure u take notes of everything he says in class, even the things u think r unnecessary. 2 test-33 mc, final-50questions: lots of buffer capacity, sterilization, very little ph questions.
If you get this professor, drop course immediately. or else RIP your GPA. he may seem tolerable and funny in class but his TESTS ARE CRAZY HARD AND SPECIFIC. Few questions are not even in his slides.
Dr. Rohera is a nice person, but a difficult professor. His exams are very hard and you need to know the material well. His questions can be extremely tricky and difficult. You have to study for him, there's no way around it. He's a good person, but most people don't get the A, only a few. Above a 90 on first two exams and got a 70 on the finalA-
This professor will give a roller coaster of emotions. There will be a time during his class where you will be so sure you're failing and there's nothing you can do that will pass you but SHOW UP TO CLASS. He keeps track of who attends class and he really does care even when he acts like he doesn't. Ask for help, he tries to pass everyone.
He really is very tough and seems intimidating. Hang in there and try your best because he curves a lot.
Professor Rohera knows what he is teaching, however, what we learned in class did not reflect what we understood on the tests. Read the textbook, slides, and wrote notes in his class, but it was not enough. He tries his best to pass people, but you must put the work and effort in.
kind of interesting guy but not understanding and very tough tests. the questions on his exam are a different language compared to the questions he teaches in class. do practice questions from the textbook and hope for best. although for the midterm he gave a 20 point curve but the class did so terribly bad he had to do that for his sake. \
HARDEST TEST EVER.Emphasis to study slides&come to class but he is very confusing&off topic, for whats on test - so are his slides.Exam is 10x harder than "taught".Big curve but doesn't help.exam avg 60 even with 30 point curve added- INSANITY. Refuses to budge on qs insisting he is always correct, no negotiation, discussion, or consideration.
i am single handedly traumatized after his class. if there was ever a perfect representation of "try your best" but your best is not enough and never will be enough, this is it. your chance of passing is 50/50. your chance of passing with a "good" grade is probably less than 5%. good luck.
so boring. goes on tangents. no logic. hard to understand. reads off slides. ridiculously difficult exam questions. exam questions unrelated to material. no help. no empathy. just. no.
He is not that nice. I tried to ask him questions about how to do some math problems but he does not try to help. His test questions are also too specific
Horrible. He will not help you
He gives three exams worth 33.3% of your overall grade. He DOESN'T HELP at all. His test is very detailed oriented, and studying the slides alone will not result in a high grade... unless you have a photographic memory. Any details on the slide you think might be irrelevant, memorize them because they most likely will be on the exams.
amazing prof and even better uncle
nicest man alive
goated, funny, and overall inspirational.
Absolutely wonderful professor!! I would definitely take this class again!
very difficult
to do well u need to master the math and study concepts very throughly, exam 1 is mostly math, exam 2 is half math and half concept and exam 3 is majority concept. Math is hard but doable. Concept questions you must understand it 100% there very tricky but he is a good prof and it is possible to pass. Ngl he is hard but if u put in the work dw
His lectures were kind of boring but he is very helpful during office hours. He will make sure you understand everything. Tests are difficult but if you put in the work you should be fine. Everything is pretty much provided in the slides he gives.
difficult exams but amazing lectures
I could've sworn that since it was a summer class, he would've curved more and be easy on us. That is not the case. So be aware if you are retaking ceutics 2 over the summer, study hard. He did not pass some kids, the school should have let someone else teach this course, but hey thats sh*t johns for you.
This man should be fired. He is absolutely the worst and his exams are so difficult. There was no curve and he fails people. If you can, drop the course immediately and take it with another professor. Trust me just fight for another professor, anyone else is better than him.
Don't under estimate him, you may think "I got this" as he is giving the lectures in class, his tests are on a whole other level. REMEMBER EVERY THING, the things you think you "may not need to remember" will be tested on. Put in a lot of work and it will be doable. Go to class everyday, he keeps track of that and can aid you in him passing you. GL
Rohera has a good lecture, he is knowledgeable in his field and what he teaches. If I was auditing his class, he'd be a class I'd take. But he has excruciating standards when it comes to his tests. His questions intend to mislead and deceive you on exams. While attendance is not mandatory, some questions will be based on lecture. Switch if you can.
If you don't want your GPA to tank, do not take him. His exams are designed in such a way where the only way you can pass is with a prayer (maybe). He does curve his exams however its never enough to fully pass his class unless your more of a math person.
If you want to save yourself, don't take this class please. He curves a lot and half the class still fail. So please do yourself a favor. Do your GPA a favor too. Everyone fails before the curve, and with the curve only half the class pass.
No matter how much you study, it will never be enough. He definitely knows what he's talking ab but the exams are so unfair and impossible. He gave a 20 point curve for 2nd and 3rd exam and also curved the final grade by a letter but that was bc 80% of the class was failing. Sweet guy but the class is gonna burn you out, 100% guarantee it.
Knows what he talks about but will literally give you the most disgusting attitude. Yells at you for eating drinking, bathroom and even if you whisper to your classmate. The fact that this school allows professors to yell at you and disrespect you is beyond me considering the amount of money we pay.
Very difficult exams! The only thing that helped was that he curved all three exam grades, and each of the exams weighed the same. I don't even have any advice to give as to how to study for his class.
