Dr. Reddy is definitely a university level professor. She has high expectations for her students; especially those interested in healthcare.
she sucks
One of the best teacher's at ELAC. Dr. Reddy knows her stuff. She really poses a challenge for her students. If you want to go far in healthcare..she is a must! I adore her! She really cares about her students. She is an inspiration.
An incredible, very knowledgeable professor. Although some may think she's too difficult, if you study you'll do just fine. She really knows her stuff and is always available if you need help! If only she taught other subject.
Not clear during lectures.Lectures do not back up her exams. You haveto learn on your own do notrely onher teaching. She did not make time for students concernsand always said we willtalk tomorrow well tomorrownever came.students were very disappointed butafraid tospeak feared being failed or looked d
Students needs to speak up and complain to the dean and administration. This school is full of incompetent teachers and nothing will happen if everyone stays quiet.
She is a Very Hard teacher. Be Prepared to study your ass off if you take her! I struggled for a "C" and I had an "A" in microbiology... Whoever said she is a University Level professor on here was right. You will learn alot but personally I already forgot most of what I learned cause I was always so stressed!!! Thank GOD it's over! Very tough!
Dr. Reddy is one of the few professor at ELAC that really care for the student to learn the material. I truly recomended, she is very clear and wise, if there were more professor like her at ELAC student will be more prepare for University.
unclear
Dr Ready is a difficult teacher. She has lost patience for teaching and thinks that everything should be easy to her students. no mercy, no extra credit. must read, read, read!!! She is also very bad at managing time, i found everything to be rushed on the last month of the semester.
Dr. Reddy is one of the best professors at ELAC. She is adequately demanding. SHe is utterly intellingent in her profession and cares about her student's grasp on the material. Very clear on material and explains thoroughly. I had her for winter and did rather good. Just read material and pay attention to lecture. no biggie. she is great!
Biology 20 is a hard class since it was 2 classes combined. I took it fall 03. So I dont think it was her that made it hard, she is a good professor, she cares about her students. I would recommend her but you just need to put a lot of time into studying.
Her material exams are Ok, but beware of her LAB EXAMS. They are fr----- hard. She only allows 1 min. for three questions whereby you must label specific body parts. That is simply not enough time. By the time you finish writing answers to your previous lab station, your time in your present lab station would have runned out. Trust me, she's BAD!!!
Can't understand her and hard teacher
this class is VERY hard, truly commit yourself you will do fine. one word of advice is you must go to the lab to study, you need to put in the extra time if you want to do well in this class. there is alot to memorize and she demands you to work your butt off. she was tough but i enjoyed her class, and i learned alot and that is the point right?
she is a very demanding teacher. you really have to study hard. her tests can be slightly unclear. challenge her on things that you feel are unfair (regarding tests) - she sometimes bends a little. her passion for her field is apparent and you will learn a lot. don't take her if you just "want to pass" the class - take her if you want to learn
very hard, not recomended you won't get an A ! lab test hard she only gives like 30 sec for three questions think about it before you sing up for her class.
I have never worked so hard for a B, but I really learned in this class. Dr Reddy is brilliant. She obviously knows her stuff and is very open to answering your questions. You have to be very dedicated to studying to survive the class, but I learned so much about the subject that I still use her lecture notes to study for my other classes.
Horrible teacher. Her tests are really hard and you cant understand her at all. For the lab tests you only have 30 seconds to answer.
this class is very hard....... her exams are totally different from what cover in lecture. Her final is acculumtive, which basically covers the whole book. I'd never work so hard just to get a C.
Dr. Reddy is a very impatience teacher. she lecture like she just wanted to get over w/ it...she got bad handwriting too. but the thing that pissed me off the most are her lecture notes, which doesnt backup her exams at all. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND HER
great teacher very clear and helpful
I took this teacher for Anatomy 01 and had to drop the class. If that does not say enough, her teaching methods are ridiculous, she speeds through lectures and expects her students to understand Anatomy as if we were scientists. I was siked to take this class before and she killed it for me! I don't recommend her!!
Dr. Reddy's bio 20 class is very difficult, but well worth it if your a nursing major.
Be thorouh with the reading. Don't try to slack off because you will regret it later on. Dr. Reddy will help you if she sees you want to learn the material.
Don't think you can get by in this class. She wants to see you do your best. That's a good thing because she is preparing us for the real world, especially those who are entering the medical field. Great teacher, she's brilliant@!!!!!!!!
She feels everyone is picking on her but she needs to realise to some of us it is about the grade in addision to learning. I tried so hard and have nothing to show for it. We started with 40 people in the class ended with 12 does that say anything?
lectures and tests are not the same. she spends all of lecture time talking about one thing, but when the test comes around anything from the testbook can be on the test, she could have briefly mentioned it, but there will be about 15 questions just on that.
Dr Reddy is the best professor at Elac, she is adequately, demanding, she is very intelligent and care about her students. She is very clear on her4 lectures and material and explains clearly. the only thing you have to do is pay attention on her lectures take notes. She really is a teacher the best!!! if you want to learn
I DON'T NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER AT ALL!!!! AVOID TAKEN HER CLASS...HER LECTURES THAT ARE IN CLASS ARE NOWHERE IN THE TEST...HER LAB TEST ARE RUSHED..YOU HAVE LESS THAN A MIN. TO ANSWER
I TOOK MY 'C' WITH PRIDE. DR REDDY WAS THE HARDEST TEACHER I EVER HAD BEFOR THE NURSING PROGRAM. IF BIOLOGY, NURSING OR HEALTHCARE ARE NOT YOUR MAJOR; DO NOT TAKE HER. IF THIS IS YOUR MAJOR THEN YOU REALLY NEED TO TAKE HER. YOU WILL LEAR A GREAT DEAL. DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO SLIDE BY. THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE COLLEGE JR HIGH SCHOOL.
It's not rewarding if it's easy.
Please! please! stay away from this teacher she doesn't know what she is doing so unorganized, unable to understand when she speaks oh boy I failed my anatomy class because of her. she talks too fast. I do not know how can she teach in the U.S
If this L. Reddy, the professor, she is absolutely a good teacher. hard work is needed for this class, lots of study but all worth it. she is helpful if you don't try and B.S. her. I took her in 2004 and she is still student focused. she treats you like adults, as it should be. adults work hard.
I read the comments, and I was compelled to have to write. Reddy is NOT a good instructor, I have finished a BS in Biology and decided to take A&P (Bio 20) to prepare me for a nursing degree, out of all the instructors I have taken, Reddy is by far the worst. She gave tests with one days notice! Good instructors do not set you up to fail!
I don't care whether I took a course from her or not, but this woman thinks she some bad-ass just cuz her brother and sister-in-law are physicians. Earning a PhD does not permit her to be rude and be inconsiderate to the inferior. How dare this witch scold me for her impatience at the uc.
Dr. Reddy is very difficult. She tries to teach so much in so little time,it becomes overwhelming. I took her my 1st yr. 1st sem. @ ELAC. Must say i assumed all professors would be this difficult. Not true! i worked hard, & busted my behind with hours of studying and ended up with a "B" I still believe i deserved my "A" it must have been a mistake.
I would like to start off by saying-this class is hard but a 5 week Anatomy class is going to be. She is a great teacher-take good notes and make sure you keep up on your reading and you should do fine-just don't slack off. Using the learning center after class was also very helpful.
Anatmoy is tough to begin with, so do your part in class! She was terrific and very approachable. I was intimidated at first, but she will help you when you ask
You HAVE to do your part in class and participate - your grade will not be given to you. Hard class, but she will notice if you are working and trying. Take good notes and you must read the book! Thought she was an excellent lecturer and very interesting!
Teach very clear, but is a difficult person to treat with. Very umpredictable test. You need to read the all book.
A very knowledgeable professor. She really knows her stuff and is always available if you need help! You will be fine if you study hard and pay attention on her lecture. Highly recommended to whom will go to health care field.
Hard Teacher, gives good lectures but her tests are not predictable. You must know everything in every chapter because you do not know what will be on the test!
Her English is terrible. She gives a 1 day notice on exams. It's questionable whether her degree is comparable to the United States. She never answers any questions.
Challanging. but do-able, read the text and study, she makes you learn and understand the material, it will be ingrained in your brain after a semester with her. shes very nice too once you get to know her but she does have a mean stare. but shes nice. enjoyable class
She is very knowlege in the subject, but her teaching techniques are not the best. In lab she will give twenty second per question, in lecture she will test on subject that class has not gone over yet ( On Final). I will not recommend her as Anatomy teacher, unless you study more than twenty hour per week just to get a C
Professor Reddy teaches an intense Anatomy class i took her for summer session in 5 weeks. You must work for your grade and be very dedicated to study to pass her class. She is a very interesting teacher I feel i learned much more than Anatomy if you really want to learn Anatomy take her,she is also very helpful with any questions you may have:)
a bit hard, you need to attend lecture and read the book -after all you are in college- She expects a full effort. Its anatomy there will be tons of memorization as in all anatomy classes. She is very helpful in lab. Its not impossible to get an A as long as you know your stuff, I got an A and I worked a full time 40hr/week job.
very disorginized. mis-graded and bad form on testing. survival of the fittest!
This professor makes sure you earn your grade. Shouldn't all college courses be like this? Lol. Warning: Not an easy class
She is the best professor one can ever get. She makes the stuff so easy and reliable for her students that they don't even need to go through the whole book. Class is hard but she is the one who makes it easier and students are complaining about her grades all the time. If you are a looser don't take her but if you are a winner can't get better.
I took this class because it was the only one available and need it for my major. Shes really not easy. Its a hard class overall. Lots of memorization, and tested on little. I hate hard classes, and i didnt really read and still got a B while others struggled. Out 120 about 30 stayed. If you really wanna learn take her, if not find someone easy
If you want a real college professor and want to learn, take her. She is no nonsense and to the point. Hang in there she is fair in grading, especially when she knows you are wanting to learn, try hard and ask her for help. Other than that, if you don't want to work hard and are looking for easy, do not take her.
She is hard but has a lot of knowledge
If you are a struggling student, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You have to work hard and more than avg to get an A. I got A because I stay the entire time, go Lrn Ctr, and join her other classes and practicing quiz/test online BUY NEW textbook w Access Code. OR you out of luck. She is best recommended for students who want to work in medical field.
She is a VERY tough teacher, she goes over stuff in class but you're better off learning on your own because she isn't very thorough. She grades based on 6 tests and nothing else, 3 lab tests and 3 lecture tests the lab tests are very difficult if you dont study on your own and the lecture tests are hard!! i passed but good luck if you take her =)
This class was very challenging but I learned so much. It was very fast paced since I took it in 5 weeks. Dr. Reddy is very knowledgable and wants to teach her students. You must work hard, go to learning center, practice. And read. What helped me was taking pictures of the models and study them at home when the learning center is closed. Good luck
MOST AMAZING PROFESSOR EVER IN THE WORLD OF PROFESSORS! Yes she is tough, yes she makes you think but if your looking for an easy A then you should NOT be entering the medical field anyways. dont listen to the comments that portray her as negative because she is so helpfullll!!! She repeats herself constantly and makes it easy to learn. SHES GREAT
The best professor in the world; she is not an easy professor and if you are lazy please do not take her;however, if you want to learn take her. SHE IS AMAZING!!!
She is very knowledgeable, but she is not an easy teacher. She surprises you with things on the lecture exams that she didn't review in class. Be ready to work harder than ever!
the worst teacher ever do not take her. AVOID
HARD! but very helpful teacher, she may seem evil at first but she really cares about her students and is passionate about teaching. If youre a nursing student and really want to learn your *ish take her!
Dr. Reddy is one of the best lecturers I've had. As others have said, she is hard but fair. She does make tricky exams, but she is a great professor. Be ready to work, but you will learn a lot.
very hard teacher but fair.. you will learn a lot! I got an A cuz i studied and never missed a class. If I can do it you can too! take her if you're going for the med. field. good luck!
Great Professor! Attend all lectures, study hard, and you will do fine! Lab exams are straight forward, she gives you a list of what you need to know. Lecture exams are based off what she says in class, so take good notes! Textbook is useful to study pictures. Go to the Learning Center to study the models. Do this and you will get an A like I did!
She is a nice teacher. Attendance not mandatory but those who left didnt do as well, so try to stay. Class is very hard. I've never worked so hard to earn an "A" like i did with her but is expected. If ur weaknest is lab, focus on doing gd in lecture or vice versa. not sayin 2 ignore d other but just do really gd incase u fall short on other.
She does not care about her students at all. Just a professor who enjoys getting paid.
Dr. Reddy is one of the greatest professors I've had in Elac.I was always left in awe leaving her class. Shes extremely smart but can be tricky in her exams.Shes is a bit disorganized but if you try she will help you out This class is definitely not for lazy people. If you're really dedicated take care if not what are you doing in the health field?
Dr. Reddy is the best science professor at ELAC. Her exams are based on her lectures and are fair. Work hard and you will do fine.
Anatomy is not an easy class, but Professor Reddy explains the concept very clearl and she explains on the board alot of good material. the material in the book is easy to understand if you study. If you miss any class you will lose information so attendance is very important. She is an excellent professor and i highly recommend her.
She is awful!! She didn't care about her students. She held us hostage for every minute the class was scheduled. we never attended a lab class! Her tests NEVER matched her lecture!! RUN FAR FAR AWAY if you are enrolled in her class!!
I've taken a lot of classes at ELAC and I would without a doubt say this was the worst/hardest teacher I've ever had. I love the subject of anatomy and have taken it in highschool before. This teacher is just..i don't even know what to say! From one intelligent person to another, don't take this class! Avoid this lady.
Prof Reddy is fantastic! She is so passionate about teaching it is inspiring. I was scared to take her class when I read the online reviews, but as I needed the class I took it anyways. You need to attend every lecture, take notes, study, ask questions, spend time at the learning center and you will get good grade. Best teacher I've ever had by far
Best teacher ever. She is so passionate about teaching it is inspiring, attend every class, take notes, study hard, spend time in the learning center and you will pass this class with an A or B. If you are lazy, skip this class, Prof Reddy deserves students who are going to be paying attention
Prof. Reddy does not rob anyone of their grades. The amount of work you put in determines your grade in the end. There really is no excuse. People need to stop whining and take responsibility. Memorize everything on lab test lists, no excuses. Focus on her lectures instead of the textbook. Put the time in to study and you will get an A.
She is TOUGH, But I feel I know soooooo much about anatomy now and every class I take now, will be a piece of cake, if you plan on transferring, take her, she will prepare you! She is very good and explaining and simplifies the most complex ideas of anatomy. Sign me up for physiology!!
Dr. Reddy is TOUGH!!!! She's very knowledgable and extreeeemely smart in her field. She tends to get off topic and share stories that are not relevant to tests.. I took a fast track course at National University with her and she passed me with a B-. Biggest downside was that she was completely against study guides, which I think are necessary!
Dr. Reddy is the BEST professor I've had the opportunity to learn from, and mind you I'm comparing her to my undergrad professors at UCSC. Her lectures are engaging, not just reading off of a PPT. She only uses images on the projector to supplement her lecture. Everything you need for a test is in the notes, but I always read too and got an A!
She crams (2) 4 unit classes from 6am until 1pm & starts yelling if we A) answer her question wrong or don't answer at all. I would loose my coping mechanisms as well if I tried to cram all that in one day. Do yourself a favor & pick any other professor, they are much more approachable, helpful, and don't bring baggage to the lecture.
AVOID THIS CLASS LIKE A PLAGUE! Expectations are not clear. Tests have no relevance to the material covered in class. This teacher will destroy your GPA and leave you confused. There are too many good professors teaching microbiology and this is not one.
Don't take this professor. She told us lecture notes will be the only ones in the test , but the test comes it was everything from book. She hardly gives homework. Grades are based in the test exams which is hard and commulative with chapters.
Prof Reddy is the best professor I have ever had in my whole college career. She is a no nonsense professor and I like it that way. Took the 8 credit AnatomyPhys combined class and it was tough but I loved every lecture and every class. She is so knowledgeable and always asks if you have questions before tests & explains. Real deal for Pre RN's.
I had a horrible experience with this professor. Lectures were long and the teacher strayed off topic constantly. The tests in no way matched lecture. Very little structure as far as lecture. I feel robbed.
Dr. Reddy is a very intelligent professor but she can be confusing as to what you really need to know. She says lecture tests are only based on the notes she gives you but you should really read the chapter and use the notes to narrow down what you need. Strongly suggest you start studying from the start on the lab tests. Good Luck!
Class expectations are not made clear. Lectures go off topic. She runs her department just so you know... I would've liked to know some rules to the game before I played. I feel mislead.
I gave two for helpfulness jut because she agreed to meet with me about my concerns with her class. That being said, once I meet with her she seemed totally confused about the 8 critical issues I had with her class. No syllabus, lecture notes written out in word, trying to examine dead bacteria. Overall I had a horrible learning experience.
She isn't very helpful. Have to beg for help.
Be prepared to learn on your own. Lectures are so off-topic that very little to nothing ends up on tests. Structure is minimal. Unless you already have a degree in Microbiology odds are that you'll end up with a C or worse from this professor. I expected with the high price of this class that I would learn and do well and I was wrong. AVOID!
I had a good experience in her class. She might be intimidating at first but she becomes cool later on. This class is not easy so studying is SUPER important. She is strict, but she is not horrible. Tests are long and tough, but not impossible. Study off her notes and read the text book.
Teacher is off topic for most of her lecture.
Test are tough because the teacher spends the majority of time off topic. She talks you out of buying the assigned book, then pulls all of her questions from the book. This professor wasted my time and money.
I wish there was a way to leave negative marks. Avoid this teacher at all costs! Lecture notes are made on word. Lectures are off-topic to the point where you ask yourself, "was I even in this class?". I suspect the positive reviews all come from the professor because everyone in my class was just as lost.
How would I rate this professor? I would not use: best, good, average, positive, informative, or competent. Will all the great, exceptional, informative teachers out there why waste your time with this one. Avoid avoid avoid!
Bring your own USB drive because there is no paper syllabus handed out. Material discussed in class doesn't end up on tests. I must of been on Mars. Worst learning experience I have went through to date.
Beware of this professor. Expectations are not made clear. Teacher goes on and on about following lecture notes but very little of lecture ends up being relevant on the tests.
Lecture barely ends up on the tests and there is too much irrelevant banter. Lab is not good.
Lab is horrible. Lecture is broken up to because the lab aid does not want to stay late. One teacher for so many students is horrible.
I am super bummed that I wasted my time with this instructor. Information is not organized well. Tests supposedly go by lecture but I must of been on Mars during most of the class time. I met with the instructor to discuss pairing the tests with chapters from the book, but the only response that I got was a blank stare back.
Very misleading as a professor. Sneaky and unclear when it comes to her tests. I'm not sure why she claims that following her lecture helps towards the test because it does not.
Beware! Tests are not impossible, but I would suggest that you have a masters in microbiology before attempting this class with this professor. The book is not incorporated into lecture. Lecture does not relate to exams. Overall a very misleading class.
How this teacher got to be department head is beyond me. She must be an amazing administrator but I can't vouch for teaching ability. The tests in no way reflect matter discussed in lecture. I wish that tests matched up with chapters in the book. I could've worked with that. I would not recommend this class to my worst enemy.
The course is pieced together on Microsoft word. Do not buy the $200 required book because Dr. Reddy does not go by the book. I have no idea what she went by, but it was definitely not by the book.
Beware of the tests. Tests do not go by chapters of the book. The professor claims to follow her lectures well to do well on the tests. First test she curved 8 out of 30 for not covering material, second test she curved 3 out of 30, after the drop date you are screwed.
Worst teacher ever'
Teacher spends most of class time off topic.
Took Dr. Reddy in the Fall. She is a very nice lady that is very passionate about what she is teaching. Whatever she lectures on will be on the test even if she doesn't explain much about it. She curves her grading scale towards the end which will save you!
She's a really good professor. Explains the course material thoroughly. You don't need to buy a book. You have an option to use a free e-book that she gives you the first day of class or rent a comprehensive anatomy textbook. They are basically the same content. You just need to take notes, do A LOT of memorization and apply to concepts.
Tests are a mystery. Teacher spends most of the time off topic. I suggest taking any other teacher.
By far the most challenging yet best Anatomy teacher in ELAC. The tests are hard but doable. She really makes you go in detail with each organ system. The best part is the Bodies' Exhibit extra where we were able to see real human organs which helps me in my learning experience. Take her class especially if you're going to medical field.
Dr. Reddy is a great profesor passionate about the subject. Anatomy is not an easy course as you will have to study a lot to pass the class. Heavy material but she will answer all your questions. She will curve grades at the end. If you go to class and study a lot you will pass her class. Her lab is easy
If you read the book and class notes, it's an easy A!! You have to put in the time if you want to pass! A lot of exams, but they are down to the point and not too long.. Dr. Reddy is ready to help and there for her students.
she's a good professor but she goes off topic a lot! you literally have to read every chapter in the book for the exam just because she'll say only certain things will be covered but when the exam day comes she'll put things in the book you didn't study for. ACE all your LAB exams and you'll do good! the lecture exams are what she makes u work for
Yes, she cares but help for study tips and extra insight is VERY SPARCE. Do not take her if you can not handle dense reading. Gives lots of exams, almost 1 every week. She tends to go off topic a lot as well as test you on stuff that hasn't been lectured on. If I could go back in time to think about this I would have just done it separately.
Anatomy isn't the easiest course, but taking it with Ms. Reddy can be a little tricky. The key to success in her class is to review your class material every day and at the same time read the textbook. Tests are not difficult nor confusing once you have read the book and her class notes. Take each exam and quiz as if it was the final! Ask questions
She is a good professor. Attendance is not really mandatory since she doesn't take roll. If you study the book diagrams you will do good on the test since she has diagrams. Being that it is a combination of anatomy and physiology I didn't feel it was a difficult class. That being said I did read the book and studied a lot for lab exams. Study!
She was a great and respected teacher, but she did not consider or even acknowledge a lot of the hard work I had put in. I also wish she could have understood where I was coming from and given me a better grade. I felt I learned overall, but my hard work was not noticed.
If you read the book and class notes, it's an easy A!! You have to put in the time if you want to pass! A lot of exams, but they are down to the point and not too long.. Dr. Reddy is ready to help and there for her students. I recommend her if you are going into medical field.
One thing I will say about this professor is although you do have to beg for help, read on your own and take notes based off of what she lectures(no power points used) , she is still by far the best professor I've taken at ELAC. We're adults and shouldn't expect everything to be handed to us , study the material on your own and you'll be fine .
By far one of the worse teachers to take if going into nursing. Her lectures consist of her speaking and 80% of the time it's about irrevelant things. During lab you are pretty much on your own.. this is a self taught class so you must do everything on your own because she's no help.
The combined Anatomy & Physiology class takes a lot of work. It is best to take class notes and then study the textbook by yourself on emphasized sections. All grades are from quizzes, exams, and occasional homeworks. Be a responsible student and you will get an A.
Doesn't print out the syllabus for students cause she only posts on Canvas. She lectures heavy and spelling counts during exams or they are marked incorrect. There was a student who literally glazed over, got up, left during the first day of class, and never returned. Lots of note taking and must study on your own. It is definitely intense!
Beware of this professor. Tests are not very clear. Expectations are not clear. Run!
Professor is a tough grader, spelling is taken into account when grading your exam, gives exams every time the class meets, at times has you study certain sections that are not on exam, not clear about what you need to read, study and what will be on exam. I do not recommend this class if it's just for g.e credit. Overall, really tough class!
The lab work was heavy in terms of how much it is worth for the grade. The lectures are very helpful, but she goes off topic too much. She says to not buy a textbook but you seriously need one to understand the subject. Overall is was not easy and you have to work for an A, but it is definitely possible. She is disorganized though.
She tells you what will be on the quiz, literally shows you the 50 bones to memorize. Quizzes, do you memorize well? if so, easy A, just a lot of terms b/c well its Anatomy. Get ready to take notes. Study notes and end of chapter questions and you will get an A. Material not difficult, just a lot of it. Extra Credit if you go to science center.
Dr. Reddy is a great professor she makes anatomy/physiology clear and her test are to the point like her lectures. She doesnt grade by spelling and she encourages her students to ask questions. She wants to see you suceed. I really enjoyed having her as a professor and would take her again if i could. You can tell she loves teaching.
Teacher talks you out of buying the book. Lectures are off topic. The test she makes up has nothing to do with anything talked about in class. Waste of my money and time.
She goes off topic a lot. Very set in her ways. Many tests, she would have very unclear questions and answers and when everyone argued about why her answer was wrong, or there was another correct answer, she would not bend and everyone would lose credit on questions. I am doing well in the class but not because of her help. Avoid taking her!
Some might say she is a tough grader but she curves some test scores and her lecture test is truly easy if you take notes of her lecture seriously. But if you know what course you are taking, the level of her course is just about the average or below. Just memrorize lab material and her lecture stuff. She also helps a lot when u ask questions.
it is definitely a class that makes you work. started out failing the first lab and test, but after I got in a study group and became engaged it was worth it. i really did learn a lot about anatomy and she was pretty approachable when I needed help. I also did it in a 5 week summer session so I'm sure that made it harder haha.
Dr Reddy is very intelligent but the class felt very disorganized. I was never sure what chapter the tests would be on, if it would cover material we hadn't covered (happened twice), or if the lecture slides would be useful at all. Huge lack of transparency on how grading works since we never knew what individual lab assignments and such were worth
Taking her would be the BIGGEST mistakes you could do! Always has to be right, very unclear what will be on exams and no study guides. Insane amount of exams. Took over 13 exams. If not taking an exam that day you will def be taking a quiz. She will embarrass you if you say the wrong answer. Take another professor or else good luck trying to pass!
I Do not recommend her at all. She's super strict and gets very mad if you come in late. She Will mark a ton of answers wrong on your tests when you have the right answers and still wont give you credit. Its like she wants you to fail. Her lectures are long and boring and will have an crazy amount of pop quizzes. I never wanted to cry so many times
Like everyone else has said, her grading system is not transparent. Professor is very well-versed in the subjects she teaches, but her lectures are dry and require a lot of studying outside of class, especially since she gives tests almost every other day. Labs were pointless and mostly just to keep students from leaving early.
It's difficult if you take it in summer but doable. The professor is very knowledgeable and open to questions. The lab was very easy. Lecture test were a bit hard due to the wording, but Dr. Reddy is open to questions during test. If you do not understand the material read or ask Dr. Reddy. You will pass if you are on top of things.
VERY informative, but can be rude at times. I would not take her in the summer because she always ends labs very early. In lab, she would really prefer if you did not ask any questions and do it yourself, yet she rushes the students to finish up. Test are HARD! Words questions in a way to make you really think, but doesnt give enough time for it!
VERY unpredictable. One day shell be completely unreasonable and rude, then willing to hear your concerns & questions the next class meeting. She can change her mind and give you a test a day early. Or, give a TEST that she said would be a quiz. Curves test sometimes. Extra points but no extra credit. You may like her class or absolutely hate it.
Goes off topic a lot during lecture. READ THE BOOK to help teach yourself. Syllabus did not specify ch's being lectured on and did not have a layout of what would be covered on exams. No dates on syllabus. TOUGH GRADER and unfair w/ grades given. I worked hard and did not miss any classes but she was hard on me. I would not take her again.
Her online exam had no pictures to identify, she did not fix it, got 0 out of 100. Didn't even announce if it would get fixed, when I emailed her about it she made an announcement telling us to stop complaining. Absolutely no structure to her class, never knew what I was suppose to be reading, material in exams was always a surprise. Terrible!
I took the course and it is moved online due to the virus and for a test I gained 84 out of 100 but later the grade was erased to 0 out of 100 and never got fixed. Also she said an exam will be on Saturday but suddenly moved to Friday which caused many people unable to take the exam.
One of the worst classes Ive ever taken. Im so grateful for my classmates for making the experience bearable. She does not like getting any type of feedback and thinks youre complaining about everything. Lectures are painstakingly boring and youll use your book for self teaching A LOT.
Dont want to be harsh but dont know how else to put this, literally horrible. I told her there were tuns of questions on multiple exams that were never discussed or even appeared in the book and she just disregarded it. Lectures and PowerPoints she gives are not helpful at all. Regardless if you work hard, nothing she gives helps you. Just dont!
I have taken many instructors, and this instructor is probably among the worst. She sets you up for failure by telling you to study one thing and testing you on something else. It is true, her lab's diagrams are often mislabeled and unclear! Her tests are too specific & the questions were unpractical. Her lectures were horrible. DO NOT TAKE!
Reddy is the worst professor on this campus; this was the last class I needed to transfer and will now be unable too. She does not teach; instead, she posts modules and then gives you a 100-question exam on them. And none of the questions are based on the module she provides. DO NOT TAKE HER avoid making the same mistake I did.
Dr. Reddy is a high caliber professor with tons of clinical and research experiences. She has high expectations because the subject matter is tough. If you want an easy A this is not the class for you. . I worked really hard to get my A and it was worth it for me because I learned beyond textbooks.
Avoid this professor. Although I did receive an A, this was because I was proactive in studying. Unfortunately her accent makes it difficult and lectures are incredibly boring and a bit unorganized. This was the only class I was taking so I had no excuse to study every chance I got and at work too. I am self employed which makes it easier.
very not understanding and unable to accommodate as a prof! i don't recommend taking her! very exam heavy as well
avoid taking this professor.
absolute worst professor at elac! tons of exams, lecture heavy and have very strong accent. take another prof for your sake
i tried my very best in her class and score above b in her class. yet she's so hard on me when i'm asking questions and keep saying she would not repeat herself and told me to look at syllabus. the syllabus is not updated. the grading is so unclear and confusing. i really am trying to do welllnin her class. but at every turn, she's making hard
worst professor. For life science take another professor.
First of all she has a heavy Indian accent and I couldn't understand half of what she would say in her lectures. Keep in mind, all anatomy terms are in Latin, so I couldn't even try to guess what she was saying. She doesn't teach well, she just repeats what are in lab manuals. Gets offended when people don't show up to labs and chose to study home.
unable to accommdate as a prof. she doesn't care about students. you could have a valid reason that missed an exam and she doesnt care.
Tough class, but with dedication and tools like Unstuck study, I was able to do well. Lectures could be a bit dry, but reviewing the free textbook helped fill in any gaps. Worth putting in the effort.
No retake exams, extra credit or homework- your grade depends on quizzes or exams that are 50-100 questions and based on overwhelming information. Also goes beyond the class time by at least 15 mins. But, informational, somewhat understanding, and her outfits slay. Overall, this class made me seek ADHD treatment and therapy. 2/5!
her accent isn't the problem but her and her grading is. your grade depends on your score on the quizzes and lab exams. no retakes, absolutely zero opportunities to improve your grade except for the quizzes and lab exams.
if you're looking to transfer to four year don't take her. take another professor for ge.
this class is all about memorizing and not actual learning. i liked life science until i look this class. she doesn't care about your efforts, or your struggles.
this class and prof made me seek therapy. terrible professor
Throws material at you and expects you to keep up or will shame you. The entire class was like piecing together a puzzle with pieces introduced to you with no further explanation until you can't take it anymore. Confusing and challenging throughout the semester with no improvement. Do yourself a favor and take anyone else.
Awful professor. Always 20-30 minutes late. Will not hesitate to embarrass you in front of the entire class.
The study materials Dr.Reddy gives are a complete study guide and her lecture slides; the study guide is limited to lab practical material. I dedicated lots of time to studying independently and had to watch many YT videos to cover anything else. Tests are given 1x a week and 2 finals at the end of the sem. I tried really hard and got a C grade.
This class lacks structure and support. There are no homework assignments or test reviews, and important material is often not covered well enough before exams. Tests are rushed, with little time to think through questions, and often include topics that were barely mentioned or not discussed at all. She is often late to class. Don't take her class
This is the worst class I have ever taken. There are hardly any homework or extra credit assignments, grade only relies on exams. She rushes people while taking tests when the class isn't even close to ending yet. She puts information on tests that weren't on the Lab manual she tells you to study. Will embarrass you if you don't know something.
Do not take her class, she is unprofessional and communicates at the bare minimum. She also makes mistakes on syllabus dates and test dates. Irresponsible! If the class is online then take it but if not choose another prof you wont pass!
Unprepared, late, not good.
Tough professor, no second chances if you miss an exam. She is strict on this. Her lectures are pre-recorded and difficult to understand. I recommend reading the textbook. Her exams are confusing, and some questions are riddles, so learn the functions and purpose of the terms if you want to get a good grade. The lab w/ Dr. Hill was amazing, though.
