Bhupi made a class that I would have despised a lot more interesting and fun due to his great sense of humor and knowledge of the business world. Despite that, there are times where I feel that he confused himself while teaching and it created a lecture hall where everyone got confused. Overall he is a solid professor and will get better in time.
The tests were very hard. The midterm was based on the in-class group exercises (alt cats), but the final had information not learned in the lecture. Used the book maybe twice the whole semester. Attendance is very important to getting a good grade - alt cats are easy points and a good part of your grade. Bhupi was very unorganized but super nice.
Bhupi is a really caring and funny professor, which made this boring class more interesting. The book makes everything super complicated, so going to class is extremely necessary to do well. The midterm wasn't terrible, but the final was absolutely the hardest test I've ever taken, mainly because the class was pretty rushed the last couple weeks.
Bhupi is by far one of the most charismatic professors I have ever had. Everybody is able to understand how monotonous a statistics class can be, but Bhupi's energy and passion about the importance and everyday use of statistics is admirable. Alt-Cats are done once or twice every class for a grade, then used as the main focus for midterms.
This guy is a BEAUTY. He let us take the best of two midterms, and everything else about the class is easy. He is the type of person that makes you laugh just by his comments and teachings. Not going to lie, you'll probably be confused about what he is trying to teach you, but overall he really wants students to get an A. TAKE HIM.
this guy is terrific ! his way of teaching is absolutely unique. class is filled with lots of real world examples. a truly inspirational and motivational individual. he showed us how to use mind maps to build a long term understanding of topics we went over in class.
This man is an absolute electric factory. He has a thick accent, but an ever thicker set of hair. Type of guy who wears glasses yet has 20/20 vision. Always offering students to reach him by cell to study on late weekend nights if you need it. If you're looking for a prof who will make you laugh, confused, fuzzy, or intrigued he's the man. Bhupi.
One of the best professors I ever had in the university, he really cares about his students and hopes everyone to be successful in this course.
Tough to understand and tough material to learn, but he does go slow with his powerpoints. However, once you get lost you are lost. Luckily there is a big curve, as the multiple choice tests are extremely difficult and the grading is primarily on tests. There are easy points like homework and in class exercises, so if you go to class it is helpful.
Professor Juneja is one of the best professors I've had at this University. He truly cares about his students future and success. The exams are very difficult, but they are curved. He made SCCO2550 very relevant to our future careers. He is an amazing professor, I'd recommend to anyone taking this course.
Words don't do justice to the legend that is Bhupi. This guy has a passion for Statistics that I didn't even know was possible. Yeah, he has a thick accent. And yeah, he even confuses himself and has to go back in some lectures. But he makes each class interesting, doesn't expect a ton from students, and made me love Stats. 11/10 would recommend.
Bhupi is a good guy, he was very helpful and lenient with everyone during the COVID situation. He's willing to help you and gives good feedback. Lectures are VERY helpful so please attend them.
He is one of the most charismatic professors I've encountered. Every time I was did not understand a concept or was having trouble meeting a deadline, he would be there to help. The class itself wasn't the most enjoyable class because it's stats, however, he tries class to make it more interesting by making it applicable to the real world.
bhupi is such a captivating professor. there's never a lecture where he doesn't amuse me. sure, he has a heavy accent, but i guarantee you'll love him more than other professors in university. stats sucks, but his passion for it really makes it into something interesting and worth wanting to learn. lectures are VERY important, go. he's wonderful!!
Great guy and really wants you to succeed in his class. I recommend him over other profs if you are taking stats as a general. The majority of your grade is on midterm and final with no unit test, just little quizzes. He kind of jumps around in lectures making it hard to follow along. Flexible with deadlines. Must buy a textbook for homework.
I don't think I can say enough good things about Professor Juneja. I struggled with this class a lot but he wants to see his students succeed. Always happy when students come to get help during office hours. He even tries to make the long lectures entertaining! I truly respect him as a professor and as a person. I did not regret taking his class!
very caring, considerate prof. very flexible on deadlines. friendly to students. really wants students to succeed in exams, quizzes, and project hws. he gives sufficient support in regards to that for sure. all you need to do is listen to his lecture and follow it.
Bhupi was an awesome professor who really understands how to help you understand the content. Made boring content pretty interesting because of how well he explains it.
Wonderful professor, he was funny and charismatic, but the content overall is fairly difficult. If you skip lectures or don't watch them online, you won't pass. There is basically no homework that you can't complete in class. The exams are pretty difficult, but manageable if you know what you're doing.
Bhupi is awesome! He authentic and sincerely cares that students are learning material that can be applied in real life. He relies on some class participation. Lectures are necessary to pass the class, and will often cover all hmwk assignments. You will never need to read the E-text. There are two major tests, based off of in-class material!
Bhupi is my favorite professor at Carlson! He cares about you learning the material, and rewards you for hard work. He tells you exactly what you need to know for the midterm and final if you show up to class. The majority of your grade is based on group work.
Favorite professor by far! Class was simple, organized and he truly cared about how everyone was doing. I would totally recommend him to anyone looking to take Business Stats. Only complaint is R software is a little confusing, but he tries to explain it well to everyone.
As a professor, he wants the best for you and makes it very clear which is very appreciated. However, he is not very clear in his lectures and they can be hard to process as there is not a ton of structure. R can also be very hard to understand because it is not taught slowly. The tests are also extremely difficult and confusing.
Bhupi is a great guy, he always made class interesting and his straight forward personality made him that much more hilarious. I definitely recommend taking the course with him, his class is pretty tough but he does his best to make it intuitive. Also, his grading system is great I finished with a B and it was curved up to an A-
If you have to take this class take it with bhupi. he knows this stuff isnt for everyone but tries to make it as easy and entertaining. he has set up the class so that if you come to class you cant fail so it really takes the pressure out of the midterm and final all of which are open note
Attendance is not technically required if your group members are willing to put down your name when there are in-class assignments. They are a couple of in-class assignments every time you have class. He offers extra credit that can boost your grade a little. The midterm was basically high school-level statics. The project is nothing to worry about
He is great he made the class engaging and was very clear on what was in scope.
Three words. WE STAN BHUPI! :)
Go to class and don't read the textbook
Goat.
This class was very difficult for me but Bhupi made it so much easier. He offers small extra credit opportunities almost every class, and breaks up lectures with interactive group projects that help you're learning so much. There are reading assignments but a lot of it isn't necessary for exams, so just show up to class and take good notes!
Best stats professor you could take. Lectures are clear and broken up with different problems to solve which makes them go by fast. He is also super nice and approachable and will answer any questions you have. IF you do all your work and get help, there's no way you should end up with anything less than a B.
Take that Bhupi's course right now, I promise you will not regret it. This man is one of the most passionate professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and what he teaches. Most of the content that you learn will be presented in lectures so attendance though is not required but essential.
Bhupi is a fantastic professor who really takes time to care about his students. He gives great lectures and constantly is available for questions. Single-handedly made the 8AM worth it.
Great prof, teaches the subject in a way that is digestible for those who like stats and those who don't. Lot of available points to where getting below a B is almost impossible. Slight curve as well. Tests aren't blindsiding, HW/ICAs are easy. Lecture slides are kinda a mess though. One of the best profs nonetheless.
BEST PROF FOR STATS!!! All quizzes and exams are open book/note! Group project is easy. There are a lot of in class assignments that REALLY help you know what you are doing on the exams so showing up is very helpful. Very caring prof.
Bhupi was an excellent professor without a doubt. He was extremely goofy and knew a lot about the course material, which made the class more engaging and fun! He continuously expressed his concern with everyone's success in the class and made sure he gave advice on how to succeed. The exams were pretty hard though.
Bhupi is the best stats professor! If you struggle with math or stats in general definitely recommend taking his class. The way he explains things makes it easy to do the assignments. He gives time in class for the assignments, him and PA's also help out if needed. He posts his recorded lectures online. The best stats prof by far.
I didn't pay attention to a single lecture. My group-mates did all the group assignments. Yet, somehow I got an A in the class. The genius of Bhupi and the fact that his tests are designed to give you enough time to figure everything out. Bhupi makes it an R class rather than a Stats class. Don't learn the stats, focus on understanding the R.
YES! bhupinder is a kind and beautiful man and cares about his students and what he teaches. A funny man, always ready with the jokes. He teaches R very clearly and always updates the script and records his lectures. ICONIC ALL AROUND !!!!!!!!!
Made even a 100min statistics lecture enjoyable twice a week. Very hard to do.
Makes an 8AM lecture fun. Definitely would recommend Bhupi over the other stats profs.
This class is a requirement for anyone majoring in something that is related to business. Do whatever you can to take this class with Bhupi. The class and subject itself is hard, but there is no way to avoid that. I failed every exam, but I still finished with a B. He is the only professor that will give you the option to retake an exam.
Bhupi slays as usual
Bhupi does a good amount of in-class work/activities, but he still slays
He is a great professor for R. Don't hesitate to take him he is caring and always there to accommodate your every need. Make sure to communicate if you need special accommodations and he will be happy to oblige.
Don't take Bhupi!! If you do you will not be able to fail this class and get the easiest A ever!! I hate him so much because I can never slay like him!!
Caring person and a very respectful person. Although his lectures are 100 min, he uses that time to teach you only the important bits, skipping over anything not on the exam. Attendance is mandatory as 50% of your grade is in class activities. It is impossible to fail this course if you show up every day, even if you are a terrible test taker.
Such an amazing professor. The lectures are 100 minutes but he uses that time to teach what is needed and gives lots of time for the in class assignments, as well as goes over the answers together. Such a caring and funny professor. I would 100% recommend him for any class.
Bhupi is a great teacher, he is very helpful and very good at describing both the R code and the meaning of the statistics behind it. Very entertaining and made my 8am stats lectures bearable. Tests can be hard but thats just stats in general.
Bhupi will go down as one of the greats in CSOM history, he makes his lectures very engaging via the use of jokes and is always trying to get a laugh out of his students. The actual R program he teaches can be complicated but he provides you with all the necessary resources to succeed in the class. I would 100% recommend Bhupi to every student!
I highly recommend everyone to take this class with Bhupi. He records his lectures which can be very helpful if you miss class or want to review content. Also, he curves the final exam score which can help improve your letter grade.
Final Test was one of the most poorly worded tests I have ever taken and it made my grade fall from a very high A to a very low A-, so I was a little disappointed in that. He is not very good at responding to email and I once went to hybrid (online) office hours and I sat there for an hour and he never showed. He taught the subject well though.
This class was amazing! Bhupi is an outstanding professor who breaks everything down so it's easy to learn and understand. The tests can be complex, but they are doable and passable as long as you attend lectures! Take Bhupi if you can!
Pretty good. Will give you the important information, exams are very hard but gives a makeup midterm. "No curve" but will silent curve at the end since final was so hard.
Had Bhupi my freshman year. Greatest lecturer I had in CSOM! Actually cares and slays like everybody said :P!
Professor Bhupi was outstanding. As long as you showed up to his lectures and took notes that he provides, the class and exams were very straightforward. In addition, he was very caring for his students and structured his course so that students set themselves up for success. Would 100% recommend taking his class.
Literal best teacher ever hes so tuff
Absolute Beautician. Bhupi is the goat. Take him.
It's true what they say he's the BEST!
Bhupi Is actually the greatest professor ever. He really cares about his students, and he keeps the lectures entertaining. He also offers extra credit for class participation to help with any points lost in the exams. If you show up to class and pay attention, you will pass this class.
Bhupi is every bit as great as they say - fun lectures (as fun as statistics can be) and an incredibly forgiving grading model. Plenty of in class assignments to cushion your grade if you don't do well on the open-note midterm and final tests. Showing up to class is all you really need to do to find success in this course.
He yaps a lot but he is a great man and gives a lot of opportunities to get your grades up.
Bhupi was great at giving extra credit opportunities if you show up to class. As long as you put in effort and submit your assignments, you should get 100% in the assignment category. Midterm and final are online, open note, & open book. Great professor would definitely recommend.
Bhupi is a great professor that genuinely cares about his students. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunities to get your grade up. The lectures can feel long, but he has a good way of making a hard topic easier. The class isn't that bad as long as you put in the work to do the in-class assignments.
Bhupi is a great guy, he's funny and knows what he's doing. Kinda difficult to keep up with all the notes and codes/formulas we use for class but I think if you ask the TA's or Bhupi himself, then it'll all work out! Lots of In-Class Activities so attendance is very important, especially if the activities are due right at the end of class.
Bhupi is an amazing professor. The exams weren't "easy," but I felt that most of the questions reflected the homework and Alt-cat/Jit-lab assignments. Attendance is mandatory, but the in-class activities help with exam preparation. Bhupi deserves the RMP 'pepper' because he's one of Carlson's most caring and professional professors.
Bhupi cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He offers help, but not a lot of practice tests, which would've been more helpful. Participation is key for extra credit points. The in-class activities are vital, however, for your ability to do well in his class (arguably more important than tests), so go to class and be attentive.
Lectures were engaging for the most part and you do in-class activities pretty much every lecture. Midterms and final were difficult and a little hard to prepare for. I thought the class could've been a bit more organized but it was fine. Definitely take Bhupi if you need to take BA2551
Professor Bhupi is an AMAZING lecturer! I didn't like statistics before, but he made the concepts super interesting and application-based. Test topics were heavily related to in-class work, so pay attention and you are guaranteed a B at minimum. If you have the opportunity to take his class, DO IT!!
Through Bhupi is a kind, and funny teacher. His lectures are far too fast especially if you are not good with computers. His tests are very hard, luckily he grades mostly on homework and there is a ton of extra credit. It is best to sit closer to the front so you can answer questions for extra credit.
Bhupi is an amazing teacher. Lectures are a bit long, but he gives extra credit opportunity by asking questions to students for them to answer. Online exams, proctored. Gives a retake on the only midterm, but other than midterm, the final is the only test. Very good professor.
Bhupi... oh Bhupi where do I even begin.
best prof. stats in R wasn't my fave itself, but his lectures are great and he explains well. he has an accent but nothing too crazy. he also gives lots of extra credit for in-class participation. you can definitely get an A in the class
This guy is awesome, knowledgable, and super funny. While the lectures were long and boring, Bhupi did his absolute best to make them as engaging as possible. The extra credit for class participation is game changing, and taking the midterm and final from the comfort of your home was great. Take BA2551 with Bhupi!!
Bhupi is the best prof I have had at the U so far. He is very funny and gives lots of chances for extra credit. He understands that the topic he teaches can be difficult so he offers lots of office hours and chances to make up for lost points through a retake midterm and random extra credit.
Super engaging and kind. I was able to understand his material and learn the material in a hands-on way that engaged me every lecture. Lectures were essential to understanding.
Bhupi provided lots of extra credit opportunities whether it's in class participation or little side assignments. Even a midterm retake to improve your grade. His lectures can be long but he tries his best to keep it engaging and entertaining. One of the best mathematical professors I've ever had.
Best teacher for stats 100%. Amazing grader, as tests were only half of your grade and had 5 point extra credit participation points so kinda difficult to not end the class with an A if you participate a couple times.
Bhupi is a great and funny professor! He does his best to make stats more palatable and lessen the blow if you do poorly on the tests. PLEASE STUDY AND TAKE HIS EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES. The tests are tough but racking up that extra credit can seriously boost your grade by a full letter grade or more. Best stats prof by far! Take Bhupi!
THE GOAT. Made stats easy to understand and made me interested in the topic. Really accessible for extra credit, but you need to participate in class to get it. He doesn't curve because he has a lot of extra credit activities. He is very clear with grades. Tests are okay, kinda hard. I really enjoyed this class with Bhupi!
Honestly, I would advise all freshmen or just anyone in general to take his class. He really does try his best to make sure his students pass, unlike other professors. As a person who's horrible with math, he really does try his best to make sure his students pass, unlike most professors.
funny and great guy! really wants you to learn, and offers so many oppourtunties for extra points, TAKE THEM.
I didn't understand anything and got an A. He gives you all the answers and records all lectures. So much extra credit but you have to be in class and talk to get it. Bhupi was so funny too. Recommend to anyone who struggles with statistics.
Bhupi is a good professor, but very overrated. The lectures are very long and he doesn't really explain well. There is only one midterm so grade is based on midterm and final basically. There is lots of extra credit though which saved me. There is basically no HW for the class though, sometimes making it hard to study. He is best stats prof though.
The class is very doable, the lectures are very helpful, rewatching lectures is how I learned parts I struggled with. He is also incredibly likeable in lecture.
Best teacher ever: 50/50 summative/formative, so go to class, get your extra credit points, and study for 85-90s, and you will get an A.
Bhupi is so funny, always making jokes during lectures. He always makes sure things are graded fairly, gave class extra points to balance out exams so its 50/50 exams and assignments. Extra credit for participating in class. He really really wants the class to succeed. Fairly easy to get an A nearly impossible to fail the class.
Bhup was very nice, and if you participate, you get extra credit points, which help a lot!! I thought stats was pretty hard to understand, though. Showing up to class is not mandatory, but go every day and take notes.
USE THE EXTRA CREDIT. It will save you. He is a nice professor and when he makes mistakes, he fixes them right away. The lectures can be a little long, but otherwise, its not too bad. They aren't required, but I would recommend that you go and take notes as exams are open note. Stay on top of your assignments and you should be good.
Bhupi is genuinely a good guy and an overall nice professor. He offers extra credit, which is so helpful in boosting your grade! Lectures are long and very boring, and the class is pretty tricky, but that's just stats. If you do extra credit, participate, and GO TO LECTURES, with the 50/50 grading split, you should definitely get a good grade.
Overall, Bhupi is a great professor; however, he is slightly overrated. Attending lectures, doing practice problems, reviewing in-class work, and taking good notes are key to succeeding in this course. Lectures tend to be boring. No class projects, which is nice, but makes tests worth more. Exams are not difficult if you do practice problems.
