Her teaching style may bore you but she is a nice teacher and easy going(if she knows your name). Let her know that you study hard and she will mark you easier than any other teacher. Trust me.

Taxation 1 (TX1), Knows her stuff. It can get confusing at times, lots of formulas to memorize. She does lots of examples in class, she is harder as it is a post-grad program. Don't expect her to be as esay as she was in the ACF program.

HORRIBLE--she refuses to post solutions to problems in text--MUST go to office to see solution--CANNOT take solution to go copy, etc. She gives her own BB chaptnotes but they suck and lack completeness. shes the only one teachign taxation--ADVICE: GO TAKE IT PART TIME so u dont have to see her, she will FAIL you.
She is a good teacher; does a lot of problems in class and provides good notes. She is also an easy marker. However, I think she needs to understand how to answer questions better.
She's the best TX1, and FA4 full-time teacher.
Bi Bi is a very nice and helpful professor. She does not allow to make copy/to post solutions online due to the copyrite. She is always ready for help.
HORRIBLE. i cant believe shes allowed to teach 3 diff mandatory classes in this program, she tries to fail ppl whenever she can, she always makes mistakes on board, wont give online solutions for references and has an attitude, her problems are tough on test but shes fair marker. however, nightschool teacher is much easier, dont take her if u can
messed up teacher. worst teacher. she thinks she's an objective marker but she's not. she bases marks on her impression on the student, not on how the work is done. I know we're all human. we all make mistakes. But in comparison to most teachers, she makes A LOT of mistakes. Don't take her. If you have a chance, take someone else.
She is a nice teacher. She expects students to read chapters and come ready to classes. She does all the problems in class and is always ready to answer student's questoins. I am happy I have her again for my advanced accounting.

Hard course with a hard to understand professor equals deadly. Hav fun taking her class, achieving a B is not that hard. but you need some luck to get an A. Her questions are confusing and she make mistakes in the questions on tests, exam, and assignment.
I took her Tax and Advance, she is the most responsible teacher I've every seen in Seneca. You don't need to read text books at all. She might make mistakes, you need to point them out to her. But you will learn a lot from her.

she seems to explain everything very clearly. i was told that she was good before i had her class. after 3 weeks of classes i would have to agree. i like the way she teaches. i really don't know how tough she marks at this point.
she is a good professor, fair, answer to all questions but sometimes gives different answers, follow her notes and her way of solving problems and you will be O.K. final exam and midterm very similar to problems from classes
She will give you a lot of notes which is very useful to pass the course. Also, it's better to attend the class, she will do some textbook problem similar as exam question. However, her explainations about one specific question will be totally different. You have to use your "professional judgement" to find the "correct" answer.
can't believe she is still teaching.. a waste of our tuition money.. do yourselves a favour if your aim is for an intelligent articulate professor to teach you the fundamentals of the course, drop her..

Good Prof but the course itself is challenging. Too much to learn and she takes stuff really fast. Difficult to keep up but not hard. Keep up with her readings and homework and her exams are usually close to CGA tests paper. So, its a good source to use for studying for finals and midterms. Overall, very helpful...

I don't understand why some student do not like her. She is A+ teacher. I took ACC530, ACC540 and ACC517 ( half with her) with her and find her the best. She feeds you the concept with her notes and solving problems in the class. She marks fairly. Guyes who do not like her, most probably, for her habit of giving no break in a two period class.
I don't care how people rate her good or bad, but for this summer 09 advanced accounting class, she gave a extremely unreasonable mid-term. Within 90 mins, you were required to do a whole consolidation I/S,R/E.S,B/S, plus another 45 marks worth a MC and theory question. The whole class scrambled through it. She totally screw up my plan for graduate
Her mid-term was horrible.We showed it to former students who took her advanced accounting course, they all agreed it was a unfair long mid-term. None of the students in the class balanced out the F/S, not even mention to finish the whole paper.I am holding 2 university offers now and plan to graduate this summer.Now I got totally screwed up by her
she is one tough teacher but if you do everything in prepareation for her exam, you should be good. I personally think she is a raesonable teacher. Bibi is not an easy prof, but if you want to learn Taxation, you will learn it with her. She knows her stuff and does take her time to go through the problems in class. Midterm and exam are similar to work done in class. Take good notes and review it. She has high expectations but does not trick you or mislead you.
After completing my first yr as an up-and-coming accountant, I decided to pursue chemistry instead. If this is what I've going to encounter in the accouting field, I want no part of it.
She just repeats PowerPoint and that's it.she does not post the solutions, so if you miss the class you miss the solution and instead of concentrating on the subject you have to write down every thing very fast if (you can understand her writing).

Which other teacher would work the problems with you? She doesn't post solutions because she does then in class. Anyone who fails her class is lazy and does no work. She is a really good professor. She solves all problems from the beginning to the end and you can see the problem as a whole.
She is the worst Accounting Prof. I had from Seneca. She lectured us outdated knowledge; tested us the topics that she never touched in class. And, she misled us. When she made mistakes, she never corrected it.

BEST PROF I HAD IN SENECA. WAS ALWAYS HELPFUL AND WILLING TO EXPLAIN INFORMATION OVER AND OVER UNTIL IT WAS UNDERSTOOD. SHE WILL EDUCATE YOU ON HOW TO BE SUCCESS AND BE A REFERENCE IF YOU ASK. TRUELY A GREAT PROF.

One of the most hilarious profs at Seneca. If you mess up, she'll make some sarcastic joke that would be incredibly rude to you, but insanely funny to others. Need a solid study habit but you'll learn a lot. I mean isn't that why we go to school? lmao

At Seneca in the ACF program she's impossible to avoid, but you should try. She will criticize students as lazy and tests have material that wasn't taught. Bibi re-writes textbook publisher's solutions on the board. She won't provide chap. solutions for hmwk problems until weeks later, to her doing hmwk wrong is an effective learning strategy
Never ever take this prof! She absolutely doesnt care about students, whether they learn anything from her, because you wont learn anything! If you want to get good mark and leave this course with some knowledge do your best to avoid Bibi John!!! Her lectures are useless, and she is zero as professional!

Its a shame there is no other options for the classes she teaches because she is unorganized, inconsistent, and goes over the class period in almost every class. 540 is one of the most difficult classes, her lectures are not easily understood and she makes this course unbearably harder than it needs to be. Please Seneca, find a replacement.
She lecture's people who get questions wrong in class, and then gets mad when no one wants to answer her. And if someone does answer her and gets it wrong she lectures them.
Absolute garbage. she gives wrong solutions and is of no help. she is never clear and cant help us with anything. don't take her class. it is not worth the ulcers.
Deserves 0 out of 5. Unorganized, inconsistent, stubborn, arrogant, and very vague. Makes huge mistakes on every test. Tests are hard. Doing all the practice questions won't be enough for her tests. Bibi is such a tough marker. Future ACF students, trust me. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES. It will ruin your GPA and your life as an accounting student.
Help yourselves by not getting in her class if you want a higher GPA. She is just THE WORST professor I've ever met at Seneca.

She is horrible. 8 of my classmates cried during and after the final. she makes tests harder than they have to be. she is very disorganized and makes a lot of mistakes and yet puts the blame on us. her lectures are painful. i have had her multiple times for different classes and I honestly hate her classes. if you have an option, don't take her
Save yourself and Don't take her classes. She's not organized, gives you tons of stuff so you can go over them yourself, and never really explains the solutions, she just reads the what she has sent you before the lecture. If you can learn the course by yourself, then you'll be fine.

Very kind and understanding with her students. If you need help, she would be willing to accommodate and assist you with your needs. Just needs work in terms of tests as sometimes questions are unclear making it a bit difficult.
Consider an alternative teacher! the only subject that cost me grades because of bad testing methods. She tests so heavy and teaches too little that will actually come in the exam! waste of time, money semester and effort. You are unfortunate if you have no other option!
Her explanation will confuse you on this subject! She will teach you all from A TO Z and ask you what are integers in exams!! PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER OPTION IF YOU HAVE ONE!!!! We even tried to complain about the subjects testing policy to the accounting head but he is ignorant too. So there is no saviour for you for this course with Bibi!!!

She would literally post HW solutions with incorrect calculations and answers, and I would email her to confirm, but she would never update anything. Tests were unfairly short and difficult, and never in the format she said she would give it in. Also very rude to students. 0/10. She should just retire.
Poor teaching methods and completely disorganized. After having the final exam, for some reason, there were still two lectures scheduled for the following week. Why not make the exam during that lecture time? Why is she still trying to teach after the course is over? It makes no sense.
Wow She is still teaching? I had her for Tax-1 (CGA TX1) and Consolidations (CGA FA4) about 27 years ago. She was not up-to-date even back then on tax or even ASPE (back GAAP). She used the old version of the Tax Act and notes.
She is good. She explains well . As a student you need to do your part. Study lesson before going to class.
This teacher will assume that you know the context before class, does not give extra time for students when needed, and asks students to complete questions online and post the answers later. I have learned all the material by myself since the teacher confusingly explained the concepts. Get a new teacher if you see her name on your timetable.
Definitely one of the worst professors I have ever had, if not the worst. She is unresponsive and unhelpful. You have to teach yourself the material because she won't.
Time to retire! This is a difficult class and this Professor's teaching style is not it! She just reads the powerpoint/ textbook and then tells you to solve the problem as if you know how to! It's very frustrating because she is confused half the time about how to do the work. Tests are difficult! Do not take her if there are other options!
Professor Bibi John's class can be a real challenge, but with the right approach, you can succeed. Unstuckstudy and the free textbook are lifesavers. Stay engaged, and you'll learn a lot.
Great teacher if you're open-minded. The course can be stressful, but it's worth it. Don't judge too quickly—if you give them a chance, you'll see they care and want you to succeed. I would take this professor again.
Wow I had this person way back in the late 90's she didn't keep up to take on the tax act, ASPE ( we didn't have international accounting standards back then) never understood changes or how things applied. We had to show her things changed in the tax act and are still valid at least 3 years before we took the course. Have fun with her. Enjoy
