She's great!
She is an excellent instructor. She makes sure everyone understands material and is very helpful.
Ms.Lopez is a sweet women and an excellent teacher. Yes she does have an accent but it's not a factor. Take advantage of the practice exams and quizzes you'll definitely pass. I got a B+ and I dislike math. She shows you short cuts and is extremely understanding. A plus side is if you miss class she posts the class annotated notes
Mrs.Lopez is the best teacher at FGCU. She's extremely helpful, and not only that but very easy to talk to. Super nice and friendly. Definitely recommend her !
Sometimes she got really confusing but other then that she was pretty good. Attendance isn't mandatory but you should definitely go. She does a lot of group quizzes and assignments.
Ms. Lopez is great! She makes precal so easy. She gives study guides ,which adds points to your test grade, and review quizzes online. She drops lowest quiz and replaces lowest test grade with final exam grade. I would definitely recommend her!
Bibiana Lopez is a very nice and helpful woman. She gives study guides (my saving grace), but assigns pointless projects and group work, insists on attendance and problems of the day, and is boring. I had trouble understanding her because of her thick accent that made class frustrating. Wouldn't recommend but not a bad choice, at least she's nice.
Very understanding person, she is very helpful both in class and out of class. I would highly recommend her.
I love her! Great professor and VERY helpful!!! Gives you many opportunities to improve your grade and will always help you if you ask. I highly recommend.
Ms. Lopez is by far one of the best professors I have had at FGCU. She is very sweet and understanding. She cares so much about how her students are doing, and will do everything that she can to make sure you get a good grade. I have never had a professor as helpful as she is. She wants students to succeed. I would definitely recommend to anyone!
She doesn't explain things very well, especially because of her accent. She will tell you that there's a quiz, but she doesn't specify what section it's on. She's a nice lady, but she is not a good teacher. She will give you no homework one day, but she'll overload you with work the next day. She gives out a lot of busy work.
honestly the worst teacher i have ever had throughout my years of school. she doesn't teach well at all, i cant understand a word she says and she tries to cram so much into an hour and 15 minutes. Don't get me started with the homework, so difficult because we didn't understand what she taught us in the first place and the website is so crappy.
She's a wonderful professor who knows how to teach. Her notes that she gives help a lot in class. The week that there is a test she usally gives one or two pop quizes, they are not hard and most of the time one question long. She gives extra credit and test corrections.
She make sure the class really fun. She's super sweet, the material may be confusing but doing all the homework and utilizing MyMathLab really helps.
Overall Mrs. Lopez was a good professor. Pretty homework heavy and lots of pop quizzes and group projects but it wasnt a bad class. She does really care about her students!
Professor Lopez is a good professor. She is a very caring woman and cares about all of her students. For me math has always been hard and it has been a challenge. Beware of pop quizzes! There is a lot of group work in this class. Always show up to class, attendance counts.
Professor Lopez was a very good math professor. She does not want you to fail! If you put in the effort you will pass! There is a decent amount of homework along with mock exams/study guides per real exam. If you do the work assigned you will pass no problem. No shortcuts! She may be a bit difficult to understand at times due to broken English.
All homework on line and normally not announced in class, it doesn't matter if it is thanksgiving you have work
Professor Lopez assigns a lot of work, but it is very helpful if you do it and try to learn the material.
I personally like professor Lopez, she does give you the benefit of the doubt if you cant attend class but be prepared for a lot of busy work.
Professor Lopez is good math teacher. If you do the work and go to class you will be fine. There is a good amount of out class homework including mock exams and study guides.
Professor Lopez was very good at explaining the material, sometimes it went a little too fast though and at the beginning it was hard to understand her accent. The course itself is hard, but overall she was a good teacher.
Lopez is super helpful if you have any question or if anything is confusing she take it step by step with you, you just have to ask. She has print out notes that make the lecture easy to following but there is a lot of homework on mymathlab! Overall she's very nice and genuinely cares if you are understanding the material.
Great professor. She gives you what you need to succeed, you just have to put in the effort and complete the work. Very understanding and provides opportunities to improve your grade and make sure you understand the content. A lot of homework but it helps you prepare well for the tests.
One of the only professors that genuinely cares for you and your grade. Her lectures are extremely fast paced, however, she gives notes partially filled out so that its easier to keep up and is willing to explain things in depths for people who don't understand. If you still have a hard time, visit her office hours which help immensely.
A very respected teacher, Ive enjoyed her class a lot. You have to participate and do your hw and study and you should do very well! Will absolutely take her again, love her.
She is a wonderful teacher , and she really cares about her students passing . I recommed this class !
Professor Lopez is very assessable outside of class. I recommend going to office hours early if you want to pass this difficult class. Do not skip class, and make sure to do every homework assignment.
She was a good professor , but her notes had few examples and when it came to the homework I wouldn't know what to do for half the problems. Has a lot of work like test prep and test corrections, but it takes a really long time and it's only worth like ten or five points. If you come to every class you get 2-3 extra credit points per test.
Professor Lopez is a great College Algebra professor. The class is set up in groups so you can always work with classmates. She is aware of student's lives outside of the classroom and tries to accommodate with them. She is funny and tries to make lectures not boring. She does goes fast sometimes but don't worry she always answers questions.
Professor Lopez is a one of a kind professor who truly cares for each student. She clearly explains information and is willing to take time to explain things when students don't understand something. She is always willing to help outside of class. She is one of the best professors I have ever had.
I thought that she did a good job in explaining everything, I found the class to be very easy. She is willing to help you outside of class, especially during office hours. Overall, I would most definitely recommend her.
I think she was very good at teaching the class. Very engaging, and interactive with her students. Her TA was also very helpful allowing us to study with her.
She has a love for math witch is great to see in a teacher. She explains the work well. Mymathlab also helps in explaining the class.
She is really nice and she cares about her students. her class is tough for some and impossible for some but i think that depends on the student. She gives a bunch of homework with intent for you to learn but its soo much. space it out though and youll be alright. Shes funny but she has a spanish accent, so if thats an issue for you dont get her.
Many opportunities to get a good grade.
She gives many opportunities to raise your grade, and also engages well with students by using power points and printed notes. Mymathlab was also a hassle but also a big help.
Assigned a lot of outide of class homework, overall decent, sometimes lecture could get confusing
Ms. Lopez is very detail oriented and willing to help if you go to her office hours. However, she does assign a lot of homework which in the long run is super helpful.
Professor Lopez is a great teacher. I actually understand the material that she teaches. Although the mock exams before each exam can seem a bit excessive, it is very beneficial because you can actually see what you are having trouble with and how to fix it . She also gives us test corrections which are great because its more ways to get points.
Professor Lopez is the best instructor I've ever had for any math class! She takes her time with lectures and makes sure that everyone has a clear understanding of the material. I would really recommend this class for someone that wants a solid understanding of the algebra basics.
Make sure you go to class and office hours... She does everything she can to help you pass and understand the material.
Aside from the extra unneeded work that she gave us Professor Lopez was not a bad teacher. She really understood how to prepare us for her tests, however she assigned more than she needed to. One study guide would be better than two, and mock exams are pointless. It was very fast paced, at least two lessons in a 75 minute period.
Its an easy class if you actually do your work. Go to her office hours! She will basically tell you everything on the test and help you with each individual question.
a great teacher who cares about her students and makes sure you learn the material
Pretty good professor. She puts everyone in groups and that is what you do everything with. During class just print out the notes and work out the problems and if you still have trouble go to her office hours. Mymathlab sucks but also helps in many ways.
She is honestly so sweet. Some things we do in here class are busy work, but the class itself is not hard. She is really flexible if you can't take a test or quiz that day.
Mrs. Lopez is a great professor. She truly cares about her students and is very understanding. She is accessible outside of class and office hours are super helpful. She also has extra credit opportunities and really tries to prepare her students for the tests.
Professor Lopez is extremely sweet and cares about her students. The class itself is not hard if you continue to stay on top of your work and study for the tests/quizzes. There are a lot of quizzes and tests though.
Professor Lopez is a great teacher. It is an easy course if you stay on top of it and stay engaged in class.
Super sweet lady very understanding. If you have trouble in math I recommend her because she will really help you out as much as she can. Attendance is extra credit and you do little questions of the day for extra credit. Not an easy A though because there is a lot of homework.
Great professor! Very willing to work with students but has a lot of homework. Before exams is when you'll have the most work between homework, mock exams, and study guides. But overall it's an easy class as long as you go
Professor Lopez is kind and definitely cares about your success. The class requires a lot of time outside of class for assignments; however, if you take the time necessary you will pretty much be guaranteed a passing grade. Keep the syllabus, keep track of notes and homework assignments and you will be set. A lot of quizzes, mostly in person.
Professor Lopez was very caring and dedicated to teaching. She knows her subject very well and tries to help you, but she makes you work for that A. There's a lot of homework and your mathlabs count for a lot of your grade. Be sure to keep your syllabus and dates for mathlabs. If you work hard on everything you do, you can get an A.
I realized about half way through the professor meant business and if you want the grade you have to work for it.
Professor Lopez gives plenty of opportunities to pass her class with her office hours; however, I feel she needs to a better job teaching the actual material to her students. There's no way I wouldn't have gotten an A without the help of my tutor. My tutor could explain things in one hour much quicker and simpler than Mrs. Lopez could in a week!
She is very nice and caring and takes the time to make sure you really understand the material. Honestly one of the best math teacher I've had. Medium amount of work is given but it takes time to do them, it is mostly repetition but thats a great way to learn because you have multiple ways to practice the material.
Amazing women! Prof Lopez really cares about her students and wants them to learn the material. I learned more about calc than i could ever imagine and she made a hard class easier to learn and more enjoyable. If i had to take another math class i would take her again and i wish i could go back and take her for my other past math classes.
Mrs. Lopez is extremely understanding and truly cares about her students success. If you show that you really want to understand the material, and take the steps necessary to do so. she will support and help you in the ways possible for her. You get what you work for!
Accent is a little hard to understand, but she is very nice and can be super funny. The class isn't difficult to pass as long as you do all of the work. The work seems like a lot but almost all of it helps a lot with the tests.
Professor Lopez is a great professor. She really cares about her students success. She is very helpful during office hours. She's super nice and funny at times. There is a lot of work for the class, but they help you learn the material.
Professor Lopez is a really good teacher. She does well at explaining during all of the lectures. Her tests are really tough though, But she gives plenty of opportunities to make up on points during the semester.
Ms. Lopez is a caring professor who wants her students to succeed, she gives a ton of opportunities for extra credit and her class time is focused on taking notes. She provides the outlines for the notes which makes it very easy to follow along.
You do quizzes, group, missions, and mock exams and they all benefit you when it comes exam time.
She was available in office hours and it was very helpful with one-on-one. She also has take hone quizzes. Print the notes so you can keep up with the lesson.
Prof Lopez truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Although this math class is more work than usual math classes, it is definitely worth it because you actually learn the material. If effort is put into mock exams, study guides, and homework then you'll do fine. Would definitely take her again.
shes super funny and sweet and is always there to help you out. She does give a lot of homework but if you do it, youre basically guaranteed an A in the class.
Great professor who balances tests with outside work and group work to create a great learning environment.
Lots and lots of homework, in class assignments , and group things. However, if you stay on track it is fairly easy and she is very helpful.
I thought Professor Lopez was a good professor. At times I found it difficult to follow her and understand but I retained the majority of the material.
The professor is good. She gives lots of opportunities.
Prof. Lopez really cares about how you do in the class! I recommend going to her office hours because she is always open to helping her students. Make sure to always do the homework and print the notes before class! 10/10 recommend.
Professor Lopez is great, she makes sure you understand the topic and if you don't, her office hours are pretty good throughout the week, and if you can't make it to them she will work something out with you. She cares about you're grade and how you're doing in the class, and will help you a lot if you show her you're worth the help.
Professor Lopez is a great College Algebra professor. She gives a lot of homework but the in-class notes and lecture is very helpful. She gives a lot of pop quizzes but most can be done in a group. She cares about her student's success and wants everyone to get a good grade.
Professor Lopez cares about her students and makes the math actually understandable. I loved having her as my Pre Calc professor. Because I loved her so much, I am taking her again for Calculus. She also doesn't mind you eating in her classroom. She is very funny and super nice!! She encourages her students to do well in her class, and others.
The homework will help you throughout this course especially if you dont understand something
Tests are well spread out and she tries to make them as easy as she possibly can. But, she could make study guides for in class and mock exams are long and tedious.
Prof. Lopez was a great teacher that really cared whether you passed or not. just do the homework and practice practice practice and you pass with flying colors. she really helps you out with some extra credit too.
Nice lady, not a good instructor. Constantly made material harder to understand than it needed to be. If youre naturally good at math youll be fine. If you arent, god speed.
This professor is a great professor . She real cares about you passing the class. You will have many assignments to complete but they can only help you learn the material. I would definitely take this professor again. A letter grade of an A or B are obtainable in this class. Also you will retain the info. The use of printouts in lecture help.
Professor Lopez truly cares about her students and wants them to suceed. Although she assigns more work than a usual math professor, it's definitely worth it and helps you learn. Her study guides, mock exams and group missions are extremely helpful. You just have to put in effort and you'll do well.
Ms. Lopez is a very nice teacher who cares a great deal about her students and making sure they understand the material. She does give a lot of work, which took a very long time to complete. I would recommend starting this work a couple days before it's due. The tests were not bad as long as you completed the homework and study guide.
Professor Lopez has notes ready for you to print out so you can easily follow along during her lecture, does give extra work such as test corrections and mock exams, but they are for your benefit, and really help when studying for the exams, as well as point out to you questions that will reappear in upcoming exams.
One of the most understanding professors I've ever had. If you come to class and do the work you will pass. She's always willing to meet with you outside of class for extra help.
Solid class. Do the work, put in effort and you will succeed. She is accessible outside of class regularly whether it is office hours or by email. Just stay ahead with the work because otherwise you may find yourself easily overwhelmed. Good experience nonetheless.
She is a great person, her classes are always fun. The only this is their is a lot of group work in her classes and she is very test and quiz heavy.
She doesnt teach. She gives us handouts and expects us to teach ourselves and all she does is go over the problem after. She doesnt know what shes doing half the time. If you have no idea whats happening in algebra dont take this class.
Good luck understanding her. She has a thick accent which makes it hard to understand what shes saying. Also youre put into groups so if you dont work well in groups i wouldnt take her class. She makes math more confusing than it already is and takes the whole class to go over a single problem.
Do not take her
Not for mathematically-challenged introverts. Everything is groupwork. She reassigns a new group for every unit. She assigns a ton of work to compensate for her lack of teaching. All the tests are cumulative and along with 20 questions per lesson in mymathlab there are an additional 60 problems due before every test. Be prepared to teach yourself.
She is by far the greatest Math professor I've had so far. I'm extremely bad at Math, but she made it so easy for me.
She's not the best lecturer it sometimes takes her to long to explain one problem and she doesn't even explain it properly. I always looked to her TA, Blake. He explained everything so much better. Has group HW and it's annoying because someone else's poor work can affect you. Stupid amount of HW she doesn't even prepare us well for.
Cant learn from her lectures. I mostly learned the material from other people and from tutoring. Unless you like suffering do NOT take her class
She was so helpful. Go to her office hours and she will be more than willing to help you with whatever you don't understand in class. Do the homework, do the mock exams, do the study guides, and you will pass. Study guides are identical to the test. People "hated" her cause they didn't do the work, so it was "too hard". Nope, she is very fair.
Heavy accent hard to understand. If youre not the best at math i would highly suggest you find a different teacher. She does not explain things very clearly and the homework is completely different from the tests
Ms. Lopez was super nice and I really liked her, but she gives an extreme amount of homework. I took her during summer semester so that definitely made it worse, but I was literally doing at least 5 hours of homework for her every day of the week. She does drop some grades to help you out at the end, but her extra credit is worth almost nothing.
She gives a LOT of homework, and only gives about a day to do it. You really need to pay attention in class or you wont pass, as she explains it in lecture, but her lecture notes online are harder to understand. Overall, shes a good professor, just way too much homework.
