lots of whiners in here. das is simply one of the best professors in the entire physics dept. if you're planning to memorize a few formulas and cram the night before the test, i promise you will fail. if you put in the effort, however, you'll know the material inside and out. extremely smart and demanding, but will make you a better student.

very nice honest prof. He explains everything clearly before moving on. Here's your chance to understand Gausses' theorem.

If you attend his classes rigorously, take good notes and do all the homework problems, you can succeed in his class. He is a good lecturer. If you show effort and persistence, you will be able to achieve a good grade. He will remember the students that have worked hard when it comes time for grading.

I don't know why people are giving him such a bad rap; his tests are pretty straightforward, he gives interesting lectures, and he's a nice guy. You could do a hell of a lot worse, especially in a subject like physics (ESPECIALLY at CCNY!). HW is mandatory, which is lame, but besides that I enjoyed class

i really cannot believe all these negative comments! All you lazy people out there, stop writing things of such a nature. If you sit in front, make a minimal effort to listen and understand then you will never even need to read the book. He will gladly answer your questions, and he really seems to care about his students.

Read and KNOW the chapters and sections he ONLY goes over. Remember that its important to STUDY so UNDERSTAND what u read. For test, really KNOW d examples on the chapters since its exactly whats on d test and go to class since his instructions are very good. hws are joke and so are the labs so make sure you do them and get full points for that.

If not the best but one of the best at ccny..god knows why people complain bout him...he is really good.He explains proofs and the theories clearly and like the others said, he tests you on what he teaches and maybe a lil more. This class is not meant to be an east A but if you try your best in his class and listen to his lectures..u'll be amazed b

Very easy but you won't learn much. Monumentally unstimulating lecturer. Filled with strange preoccupations about how you sign the attendance sheet, other minutiae. Cannot use the laboratory equipment correctly. Far, far, far past his prime.

very easy tests, but horrible teacher! don't learn anything. Tests only have 3 problems and only tests basics

this professor cannot teach but his exams are incredibly easy for college they seem like high school physics exams to me rather than college so its very easy to get an A in his class but you have to learn on your own

read the book. questions come from the end of the chapter. Learn on ur own... the exams are soooo easy... nough said

Well yea don't expect an easy A. He has a good rating but hes challenging. He is a hard grader but its for your own good. He is fair with the amount of points you are given to bring up you grade. I didnt do too well but it wasn't his fault. Take him, he is one of the better physics professors in the school.

Awesome teacher. Very friendly and helpful. Explain everything clearly. If anyone doesn't understand he tries to make him/her clear. Great knowledge in physics , and most important thing is - he knows how to easily make us understood everything we need.

The best physics Professors u can get. I had him for physics 207 and 208 which made me very lucky. He explains so well that all you need the textbook for is the exercises he assigns. Make sure you do them and study regularly otherwise u will most likely fail the tests. His tests are very fair if u studied.

Das is the man! Hands down, best professor I've ever had! Even though he's freaking brilliant, he's not pedantic. His lectures are extremely comprehensive and downright fun to attend. He's fairly down to earth, not a very stiff or pretentious professor. If you have a chance to take physics , take it with HIM, not any other professor.

Extremely good teacher. A real gentleman as well. Explains things clearly, but takes a very laidback approach, which confuses some people into thinking physics is simple. Also, unbelievably dedicated (and helpful) if you want to chat about more advanced concepts in physics.

I think professor Das is probably one of the best and nicest teachers in college. He is extremely available, he helped during spring break too. He knows everything there is to know about the subject. He does not need a solution manual and book. I would go to his section even if did not register for it and he had not problem. Great Teacher.

Das is the man!! His exams are straightforward (if you've been paying attention in class), and is not a stickler for attendance or participation. Every once in a while will try to make sure that the class is actually awake. Apparently a world renowned physicist as well...and he's so dreamy

Great professor. I hated physics and always just got C . but in his class i got A's and B's. plus he solves many problems in class so that you can get practice for the in class test. AND hes funny. Makes the class fun

THIS GUY IS the best. He is really helpful and he sums up the whole chapter for you.

He's alright. His teaching is ok, but for my lecture he didn't really go over many problems in class. I don't know what it is, but a lot of people seemed to really do not well (class test averages in the 50's). It's an easy B, but a difficult A. On the last test there was a question (1 of 4) that was amazingly hard that only a few people got.

He gave 3 questions in the exam. All of them based on the problems that he discussed in class.

OMG Das is the best! He's willing to go the extra mile to help his students learn the difficult concepts in physics. Although he does drone on like a PBS show, he is a genuine person who is enthusiastic about physics. He's such a nerd!

One of the better physics professors CCNY has to offer for Phys 208. 90% of his exam questions are questions he had discussed in class. Attendance is a MUST!! Gives homework and collects it. He curves fairly.

Very nice and helpful guy. His lectures are interesting and they actually go by pretty quickly. Exams got progressively more difficult as the course went on, and the final was pretty hairy.

He is one of the best physics prof at City college. He cares a lot about his students and he wants them to learn as much physics as possible. He answers all the questions asked in class. Take him!
