He can make some funny jokes, but other than the teaching quality is very poor. Concepts were not communicated. He loaded the 2 unit class with a ton of homework... More homework than I've ever had in a 4 or 5 unit course. Plan on spending at least 10 hours per hw assignment.
I could go on and on about this guy, but instead I will just say this; DON'T TAKE THIS GUY'S CLASS. It will save you a lot of frustration and confusion.

HORRIBLE!!!! I am in this guys class right now and am seriously considering dropping. The homework is ridiculous. This class is completely scattered and all of the students argue with him due to his absurdity. Avoid this professor (I use the term loosely). I should have.
Hay guys, wise up, you complain because you want an easy grade? If you are looking for an easy grade, don?t take him. This is not a high school, if you want to learn something and get a good grade, then take his course. I had two courses with him. He assigns several homework. How else do you learn?

I could not understand this professor. His grasp on the English language seems to work well enough insofar as pronunciation goes, but his usage of the language left me constantly wondering what he meant. I ended up withdrawing from this course because he was not helpful when I asked for some assistance on clarifying his written homework questions

The teacher is impossible to understand. I'm ok with the amount of homework, it's the fact that his homework makes no sense...there's no actual question or problems for this most part. He seems like a good guy, but he is not a good teacher. Luckily, if you have a decent knowledge of how to use a computer, you should be ok.

Doesnt speak great english so you can understand what he is saying. Tests & homework dont really make sense. He is not clear on what is due when or on what.save urself the frustration.

This is the worst teacher I have ever had. I am a 3.5 GPA student and an IT professional for over 5 years. Not only did this teacher teach incorrect information but you could not understand half of what he was trying to explain. With his low self-esteem he constantly felt the need to belittle the students as if they weren't studying. DO NOT TAKE
He is one of the worst teachers to understand. He is always jumping all over the place. His homework is easy but it does not make sense at all. His TESTS are VERY HARD. Stay away from this horrible teacher. H/W and slides are not clear which makes the exam so much harder and that's not including the fact many student did not understand his exam and asked to clarify questions. I got a B+ so I am not complaining. I was lucky to be in the IT field for 5+ years and knew most of the stuff.
I think he is a good teacher. If you attend class every day, type out your homework, participate in class, read your book and study for the exams you will get a good grade. He does have an accent so it is sometimes not as clear as perhaps some would like. But overall, I enjoyed his class. He is open to feedback. Good luck!
This teacher is the worst teacher I've encounter during my whole life. Never met anyone like him, easy class and yet he makes it almost impossible. Class average on tests are roughly in the C- to D+ range. Homework can go up to 40-45 pages of printed documents, and not to mention that he give academic dishonesty to more than 15% of his class.
Worst teacher possible. Can't understand his poor English, and he can't teach for crap. He so weird that he won't let you compare homework or tests with other classmates AFTER he returns it or you will get an academic dishonesty. Stay away at all cost, save yourself the hassle and headaches.

I am taking 2 of his classes ITM3060 and ITM2070. I have over 5 years experience in the IT field. He is a horrible teacher. Homework assignments are very long, over 10 hours per week per class. His english is poor and he does not use correct terms for the IT field. For ITM3060, the assignments are not related to the class.
WORST TEACHER EVER, Horrible English, Don't use the book at all, Homework is long and pointless, give extra credits to those whom he likes, and officer hour always have a 20-40 mins wait since students can't understand his lecture or there to complain. I'm a 3.8 Student and I got a D for the first time, In ITM 1270? Seriously?
If you guys want to take this teacher, please think twice, maybe 3 times. Worst teacher in teaching history. With that English, he should stayed in ESL class. This Teacher is bad, accuse me of cheating every test for no reason. He once chase me out of class and say I didn't turn in my test when the test was in his stack to begin with. ITM 3060 is an important class that any business major will find relevant if they plan to work in the Bay Area. Dr. Mashaw's class is challenging and the homework requires a significant amount of time; however, going to class, doing the homework, and reading the book can easily lead you to an A.
If you want a teacher to get you lost in a corn fieldand then never help you back out then take him. He is an expert in his field I will give him that. But a teacher he is not. He doesn't understand how students learn. Often times he is confusing and repetitive. His HWs were too long and too many times he would ask questions over uncovered material

He's kind of hard to understand; he has a really strong accent. Learned a lot from his class, but you need to pay attention to the lectures and take notes.
I'll keep this simple, he is by far the worst professor still teaching at East Bay. I would even go to assume that he may be the worst professor in the entire California State college system! If you can avoid his classes, please do, you will be saving yourself a lot of misery! I learned this the hard way!
His knowledge of the industry is pretty dated if not inaccurate. He pretty much required us to use software that is 8 years old and wouldn't listen when we told him that it was over $80. He's a nice person but not a very good teacher. If you're not computer savvy going in, I'd imagine it would be pretty challenging.
I've graduated from east bay and I loved everything except this class. English was poor, Lecture Slides were long and useless, material on test was not in lecture, made us buy the book and not use it at all, lame jokes, homework assignment can take up to 5 hours depending on your pace. I had years of experience in IT Field and I got D in item1270.
DO NOT TAKE this class at all cost. No one needs to go through the same pain I went through. He makes this class almost impossible to learn and pass. I been in this field for years and I have to take this damn class to graduate. In the end I have failed the class for something I do for a living. You tell me.
Possibly the worst instructor in East Bay. I can't believe he is still teaching. I didn't learn anything at all in his class. I got an A in this class, But the experience in the class was hell. I work full time and take this class. Homework was pointless and long. Longest homework assignment was 45 pages long took me 5 hours daily.
He has good intentions but something is wrong with his teaching style. If he followed his own syllabus the class would be better. Even if you do homework and study you're not guaranteed a good grade since his answers/questions are not consistent. I would not recommend him.

Professor Mashaw is a very helpful teacher. He wants you to work hard and prove that you want to learn. That's his goal. If you put effort getting a good grade in his class is not a rocket science. He will help you to work with you if you show your sincerity. I highly recomment students to take his class and follow him.
Very knowledgeable professor. He is very helpful. There are students who don't and they just complain. He wants you to learn and I believe that should be the motive of a student. Just don't expect an A not going to the class or without doing anything. If he sees that you are willing to work hard and put effort in his class he will help you.

Dr. Mashaw was very helpful to me from the day I met him. I was finally able to understand some things about information technology that I didn't understand before like the binary system. Furthermore, he gave me good ideas and is still giving me advice on how to add more sophistication to my thesis project. I recommend taking him for any class!
He is a patient person and explains exactly what is expected. He is often portrayed as unclear and difficult, this only happens to students who are rude and do not listen. I had to pass his class in order to graduate, and I hope/think I did even while planning my wedding. Thank you very much Mr Mashaw!
He makes an easy subject incredibly hard. His grading system makes no sense (in class he will say "add two points for you!" and so on. Are these points real or imaginary? No clue. Do the take homes as best you can (although they are ridiculously long) because his tests are really hard. I got out with an A but I busted my butt. Seriously don't take.
Forget about all the comments before this. I'm not a 4.0 student but ITM is my option. Dr. Mashaw is one of the best professors I've had. He knows his subject, he's helpful. If you show up and focus you'll do the take home assignments. If you do them by yourself, you're guaranteed an A. He gives a lot of extra points and he's very understanding.

Yes he is quirky and has his own teaching style but what professor doesn't? If you go to class, pay attention, read the book and take your HW and learning seriously, you will pass the class easily. This class is NOT for people who don't want to put in any effort at all. Prof. Mashaw is quirky and entertaining.
This class is manageable. Attend class for lecture and participation. Although hw is can be a heavy; it's helpful to use as a study guide for exams. The professor grades a little hard but he gives lots of extra credit. As long as you do all the work and be prepared, you can get an A

This professor isn't as bad as some of the reviews indicate. He is nice, a generous grader and passionate about what he does. There is lengthy homework every week, but if you treat it as your study guide, it's fine. You shouldn't have to do much/any extra studying outside of the homework.
Advantages: He is nice, funny and to some extent easy on grade. But don't get fooled by it. Disadvantages: He has extra credits throughout the quarter BUT they are "IMAGINARY" extra credits. You would think you have a lot of credits but you don't. Midterm and Final grades matter the most. His clarity is not good. He is very confusing.

So far so good? He can get caught in explaining some concepts to students for a long time, and then skim over other concepts because he has ran out of time. Sends emails at all hours of the night the night before class. Has explained test concepts right before taking the test. He does want to see eveyone succeed.
worst prof. Ive ever had. He rambles on w/ out any sort of structure to his lectures. At times you culd look around and see the confusion on evryones face.The labs r unnecessary. Prof Mashaw knows his stuff, he's kind & will work with you, just ask. HW is long & very hard but it's what's on exams. So if you do HW & labs, and attend class lecture, you will do well on exams. I would take Prof Mashaw again.
Just left the final and I have to say overall I was very pleased with this class. Professor Mashaw gives you a very detailed Take Home Test every week in which if you work hard on to understand, you will be set up perfectly for the Test's. He is always available during office hours and was more than helpful whenever I visited him. Learned alot!
If you have trouble finding a good instructor and an easy class. ITM1270 is best for learning basic use of computer softwares/programs. The class is intereting. The instructor is super nice and giving out extra credits. Furthermore, you will learn alot than you expect. You will be learn to explore. So don't hesitate and add this class adn have fun.
He is a nice teacher with patiences. If you have any questions, feel free to ask him in class or after class. He give us many homeworks, but very useful. Also, if you did all the homeworks, exams would be easier since his exams always based on lectures and homeworks.Just try your best to finish homeworks,take attendence, you would get a good grade.
If you really want to learn something useful concerning word,excel,or PPT operation, take this professor's class, although his HW seems like spend much time on it, but it is helpful for you exam, in addtion, homework is a good oppotunity to earn extra credit. This professor was genuine in his style of teaching he wanted people to learn by exploring and actually trying things. He was always willing to help and his class was never dull. I really enjoyed this class and the teacher, just make sure you give yourself time to do the Take Home Homework cause they are meant to make you try things and work.

HW are way to much to do and useless, and his heave accent, his dose plays favorite on some student though, Final are hard too, not easy A class at all.
Bijan treats all college students as middle school kids. His teaching style is not for college level. I am in his ITM 3060 right now, I did not feel like learning anything useful. I don't know why CSU hires him, because it drags down the educational quality of CSU.
Taking this class at the moment..and WOW is he Unorganized! He is passionate about having his students succeed, but he falls short of following thru by having a clear and concise course. Professor Mashaw is a horrible teacher. He is extremely unorganized and doesn't listen to any of the students comments or suggestions. Instead of explaining the why an answer is wrong or why a student is wrong, he degrades them and puts the blame on students instead of himself. Avoid this professor at all costs.
Mashaw is the type of professor where he expects students to take an active interest in the subject. The homework is long but as long as you ask questions to keep him on track you are okay. He will give you points for participation, but sometimes its hard to keep track. Exam was easier than expected.Pay attention, do the hw, & ask questions.
This is the worst teacher I have had in my lifetime. I saw his bad rating prior to enrolling but thought I have always done well with teachers that have poor ratings. His test questions are so confusing, hw takes 3 hours minimum and he gives poor work. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Confusing teaching style. You can make it through as long as you attend class, labs and do the homework. Seat up front so you can hear/understand him. Not an easy class on many levels. Would reccommend perhaps trying a different instructor. Don't know if it would be better but would be willing to try it.
I took this course Fall 2013 (this quarter). I think Bijan Mashaw is a good professor who wants you to learn in practical way. He got 3 test which are not hard if you attend the class and study his pp slides. Every week you got the homework which is actually the study guide for your tests. He is always available to help you in his office hours.
He wants everyone to learn but does not manage to communicate it across well.I would depend on the book and his lecture notes and go to his office hours for clarification. He likes seeing initative. His points system is unclear so try to do it yourself and check in with him. I would suggest taking someone else if at all possible.
Professor Mashaw is a good teacher with a different teaching style. His weekly homework assignments are quite time consuming and his exams (all three of them) are not too hard. He tests you mainly off the homework assignments, so do them. I would take him again
I was shocked when I took this class on how unclear this professor was! The class is a joke and he talks to you like a little kid and barks out strange orders and then reward people with fake points that add to nothing on your grade. There is weekly hw that take alot of time!!! so be prepared to do some work.o and test are a bit hard!

REALLY THIS GUY STILL HAS A JOB. I wasn't sure why I had been getting B's on my homework so I checked my friends work who was getting full credit. Absolutely no difference between both papers. I asked Mashaw why I wasn't receiving full credit and his only response in his high pitched annoying voice was " you just dont understand" Worst ever.
He gave us a very flexible time schedule for the study and homework. He tried to give all the students an idea about to use the knowledge you learned from the class. Because it is a short learn period as the quarterly system in East Bay, so the introduction we had were fully packed. I still very appreciated all he did for the lecture and lab.
Mashaw wants his students to discover. his main objective is for the class to learn something new. This class is for beginners. his homework is easy but busy work. in class he wants people to participate. he keeps people focused by asking questions. best way to do well in class is have fun. have an understanding of topic. Professor Mashaw has a strong sense of motivating his students to learn. He gives HW every week, and its purpose is to prepare for the test. His test is straightforwards from the HW, lectures, and notes that you take in class. Studying from those and you'll get an A for sure. He grades super easily.
This Professor is passionate in what he teaches. He is a great professor. Go to all class and I guarantee you a passing grade. People complain about his homework but if you go to the labs, he basically does the hw with you. If you have failed his class, you did not do what you needed to do.
Mr. Mashaw is very knowledgeable in computer Science and ITM. You will get a good grade if you keep up with the homework and participate in class. Mr. Mashaw is willing to help you learn and he is very fair. His lectures are not boring because he also is very humorous. The humor isnt a distraction either.

Professor Mashaw really enjoys teaching, especially to students that really want to learn. I spent a lot of time doing the weekly homework assignments, and I also gained a lot of knowledge from it. If you are looking to just skate by a course, this isn't the one you want. If you really want to learn a lot, then you definately want his class.
Professor Mashaw is very passionate about what he does. I am not a beginner when it comes to Microsoft Office but his course was unexpectedly very difficult. This is definitely not the basic computer course. The secret to success is make the time and ATTEND CLASS REGULARLY. Overall it was a great class and he was an interesting professor.

I recommend this professor. If you attend class and put in full effort into all of the assignments, you'll do well. Expect to spend 4 or more hours per weekly assignment. Focus on what he says and does during lecture and lab and you won't need the book or online slides. Lots of extra credit just by participating and doing what you're supposed to.

Very disorganized lectures. He is always repeating himself, and it is never really clear on what he wants you to do. He will tell you will need the books, but you don't, he never uses them, it all up to you. If you know Microsoft Word and Excel very well you will be okay. He only focuses on HP and will not explain how it works on a Mac computer.

The 1st test I got D and I studied from HW and lab then I got B. So just study from the hw and lab that will help a lot. The instructor is willingly to help the students. Take the class with him.
Although he has an accent and can be repetitive on his lecture, he really cares about his students. I received a C+ for the class, but if you really put some dedication into his class, you will get a passing grade. Tests at 50 questions and have a few short answers. Learn the small details and youll pass the multi choice do the hmwk for short ?s.
I honestly wouldnt wish this class on my worst enemy. His lectures make no sense, he thinks he makes sense, but no one understands him. He goes off on tangents, yells at you, and you learn nothing from his lectures. His take homes can be 3+ hours and are a huge waste of paper. Dont go to office hours unless you want to be treated like an idiot.
Lectures are not very clear. He will consistently ask "are you following?", even if you aren't, he will continue! if you are an absolute beginner wcomps , i would recommend trying at another school! No quizzes, but has "take-homes" aka hw,tests and a final.
I registered for this class because I thought it would be a breeze but, to be honest, I spent an average of about 3 hours on each Take Home assignment. Luckily, there's only one TH each week. However, the THs really help you to do well on the tests so do them to the best of your ability. I found the professor to be understanding and knowledgable.

His lectures are SO confusing and boring. He often says 'are you following?' but would get irritated or annoyed if you ask questions. His homework assignments? Be ready to invest in 3 to 4 hours a week into his class. The amount of things he asks for is RIDICULOUS!! I would NOT recommend him!! He's nice and all but DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO TEACH!!
I have learned a lot in the class and I am sure I will be able to utilize the skills that I learned in the real business world.
A lot of things that he teaches in the class is very useful and I think it will be very helpful for my daily life and future job exposure.

RUN!!!!!!! I took this class as an elective because I thought it would be easy. YEAH RIGHT!!!! Expect 3-4+ hours of homework. He lectures are super boring and confusing. He says he wants you to participate, but gets made when you ask questions or if you ask a fellow student a question. If you have to take the class, take it with someone else.
I thought it was going to be easy, but nope it wasn't. I wish I picked a different teacher. If you work full time and are taking a full load. The amount of work is RIDICULOUS. It took me 4-5 hrs on each Take Home assignment and there only worth 10 pts. The tests are based on hmwrks. He expects everything a certain way otherwise no points.
One of the worst teachers that I have had at Cal State East Bay-- Home takes 5-7 hours and it's busy work and you don't learn anything from the homework. His lectures are hard to understand. His tests are tricky and subjective questions. I would take another teacher if you want to learn something that will help you in business.

Honestly, this teacher isn't that hard. His accent can be a bit confusing, but all in all the class is useful if you're serious about ITM. The HW is tedious, but I did most of my HW at work and took 2 hrs. max. Just come to class, do the HW, take lots of notes, and ask questions. He was willing to help me when I had questions in his office hours.
He's a good teacher, his accent just gets in the way. Just do what he tells you to do and you'll pass.
PRO's: Funny teacher, with a sincere desire to teach students. He has lots of energy, and gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Tests will be easy if you do the Take Home assignments. CON's: His take home assignments can be time consuming, but the knowledge you acquire from doing them is worth it.
Mr. Mashaw is a helpful professor when I took him this past quarter for ITM3060. He does his best to explain to his students and give many examples on how what he lectures and how it relates in the actual partical world application. I wouldnt suggest missing class because it is easy to fall behind. I would recommend him as a professor.

Homework takes some time to complete, but it's essential in understanding the course. He is a helpful teacher and will work with you if your struggling. Great class.
His take homes are really long and boring, he expects you to spend 3-5 hours on each and every take home. The homework was very time consuming the test answers are based off the take homes so try to do the take homes in a legit manner. Stay away if you dont want to spend time in this class.

I took mashaw in the fall of '15. his lectures were almost step by step on what you need to know for tests. IT class isn't an easy class, but if you come to class, do the HW and ask questions, you can do really good in it. He is very helpful if you come to see him. there's extra credit IF you do the work for it. He's also quite funny! very fair.

Show up to class, listen to his lecture, do the in class assignments easy A. He gives a week to do each take home and the assignments are exact copies of what he teaches you in the lab. The homework is a little long but it's SUPER BASIC, NOT HARD AT ALL. Gives extra credit on all assignments. If you pay attention, will easily pass.

He is a fair grader. You have homework each week a packet to do about the lab, he gives you a week to do it. 3 tests. 8 HW. He offers extra credit. He listens to feed back from students and makes adjustments. Go to class and do the homework and you will do fine.
Show up and do the take home assignments. The assignments are long but there's a week to do it, and the exams are based on the take homes. It's a really simple class! Take him!!

Warning to all incoming students - do NOT take. His workload is 5x that of other professors teaching the exact same course. Extremely confusing and difficult to follow along with. Accent so heavy even front row students cannot understand it. People doing IT for a living still have trouble with this course. Choose another professor!
The Professor is funny, but his lectures is so confusing. He is all over the place. I find the take-home homework is extremely long. I'm having a hard time understanding him because of his heavy accents.
This professor is all over the place with his lectures. Most of the work is out of scope for this class; the weekly homework assignments are very time-consuming and involves a lot of research and creativity. He even assign homework the week of the exams and the material is included on the exam so you are compel to do it. My advice - stay away!

Whatever you do. Don't take this class A lot of homework you have to do that requires about 3-4 hours of your time each week. He'll take off a lot of points for the smallest reason. He acts like a child that doesn't get enough attention. If the WHOLE class doesn't participate, he throws a tantrum. I implore you, don't do it.
This class is very difficult to pass. There are weekly HW assignments and 3 tests that make up 94% of your grade, and the worst part is that he doesn't give study guides. This class is SELF TAUGHT, HW is very time consuming and graded very harshly. If you take this class you will dread it the whole quarter, my whole class did!
This is the kind of class where if you study really hard you STILL WILL NOT PASS. I cannot believe he is allowed to teach a college level class, he shouldn't be allowed no where near a classroom. The best professor I have taken a class with for my 2 years in CSUEB. Get ready to study hard, it's a challenging course. attend the class, do the homework, listen to him nd you will do very good. Truth is you're not going to like this class. And that most likely means that you're not going to like your job in the business world or any other world much. Although his lectures are a bit all over the place and he can be hard to understand he means well and truly cares about his students success. Its simple, do the homework and read the book/lectures to get a good grade on the exams. Mr. Mashaw is a very passionate professor. He talks fast and jumps around a lot because I feel he really wants to encourage students to think and be involved in their own learning process. This class can be confusing but if you ask questions, come to class, and seek his help if you need clarification, you will do fine. Be prepared to work hard.
This course was very confused and lectures and labs were unorganized. It was difficult to follow his instructions. Also, he gave a lot homeworks and expected to be corrected and turned it on time in order to earn full 7 points for each assignment. Many students received lower grade in the 1st exam and some had withdrawn after the second exam.
Prof Mashaw really knows his stuff and you will learn a lot from his class that will be beneficial at your workplace. I was able to learn the very basic to coding, making a webpage, Microsoft office. You definitely have to work hard for your grade however, it is worth it!
You will learn alot in his class and you may spend time on the homework, but actually spend time completing it because they will help you learn and do well on the test! He gives extra credits often too! Because alot of times the hw is based on the lectures/labs and uses your own thinking and researching b/c he really wants you to learn. he cares!

It is comical how disorganized and inept this professor is. Follow all the warnings, avoid him at all costs. Convoluted questions and directionless lectures results in hours pouring over the homework with points taken off for unclear reasons. His exam questions have very subjective interpretations that are due to his poor English proficiency.

ITM-3060 at CSUEB is a very technical course, although some say that the professor is hard to understand, I highly disagree. The course itself is hard to understand but Masbate does an excellent job of making the information stick with his use of delivery and psychology. He is very helpful and his main focus is for you to succeed. Just try Easy A

He assigns a good amount of homework due weekly but it is very beneficial to your learning. He also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. I am taking him again for ITM 3060 next quarter!
Don't show up thinking this class is an easy A. You will learn more than any other computer course. Material pertains to what employers expect you to know - especially DBMS
Professor clearly enjoys the subject but sometime can be hard to understand. There is a lot of homework and can be very picky with what he wants. You can get by without the textbook as long as you print out his lectures. Homework is where you can receive a lot of extra credit when done right. Also, rely on notes and textbook for tests.
Occasionally difficult to understand, his class is intense and homework-heavy. Do all the homework the best you can, let him know if you're stuck on something, and he'll help you out. He wants you to get a good grade and know the applications (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint) as thoroughly as possible. You will use your printer & ink. Take LOTS of notes
The class was easy as long as you showed up for class every time and do your work. There are take home tests each week. He gives extra credit if he sees that you are really trying . The test questions are from the take home tests and the lectures. He is a nice teacher and is easy to talk to about any concerns.
Overall he is a good professor, he always try to give students extra credit. He explained one thing many times in different ways so we can understand it. Yes, the HW is long but you may earn extra credit if all correct + 100% complete. Importantly, this guarantees success on exams. 8-9 HWs, 3 Exams. Approachable and helpful.
Professor Mashaws classes are rather fast paced, which is something anyone should be ready for before walking into one of his classes. You should also be ready to work really hard and be fast and meticulous all at once. I particularly liked his goofy smile, and that along with his availability at office hours made his class really worthwhile.
Professor Mashaws is one of the nicest person on campus. He likes to repeating things, but because those will be on the exam. Homeworks are long and time-consuming, but it is worth it at the end because of his exam based on those questions. He gave out extra points on the exams and homework. It is an easy A if you are serious.

This has to be the worst professor I have ever had. Very unclear about grading criteria, changes things in the syllabus all the time. He will ask for your phone # to try and call you instead of holding office hours or answering emails. He hates teaching online and makes it very obvious. I took ITM w/ him and he doesn't understand basic comp skills.

I never expected that I would be paying an outrageous amount of money for university classes that would provide me with a middle-school level education. This guy has no clue what he is doing. He teaches a computer literacy class but is barely competent with technology himself. His grammar is so bad that you can't even understand test questions.
Probably the worst professor I have ever had. With all due respect he is not good at his job. His lectures are very pointless because he is very confusing and when you ask a question he struggles to answer it. He will ask for feedback but when he disagrees with it he gets mad and goes on a rant to defend himself. He is also disrespectful at times.

I think Mashaw has a good heart but his entire class is littered with poor grammar/wording--the lectures, tests, email responses, HW feedbacks, all of it. Sometimes you'd be better off not asking him a question because his response will leave you with more questions. I gotta say though, the class was surprisingly easy so thank you for that Mashaw.
Dr. Mashaw is an excellent professor with a great teaching method who cares for students, The sessions are well organized. Do the Home work because all the homework assignments helps to learn all the context.
