Do yourself a favor: avoid Mr. Sadeghi. He is fair, but not very helpful.
Can't get passed accent. Difficult to comprehend.
DONT TAKE HIM. HE HAS A MONOTONE VOICE AND HE CANT TEACH. DOESNT TEACH VERY WELL
loser
he doesn't know what he;s talking about! the class is hard and he doesnt' help!! when you ask for help, he tells you to read the book! i dropped the class!
He is a gambler and he doesn't know anything about the math. I don't know who gave him a degree. I advise you not to take this coarse at ALL!! It is a waste of time, money, and knowledge. He is lazy and does not know how to teach
He is hard. At that time I took in Winter 2003, the exams are all multiple choice but almost all people failed it including me. However, I got a B because he curved the exams. I just lucky. Don't take him.
he's very bad at explaining stuff.however,he curves the exam and his tests are very easy, u just have to read the examples in the book and u can get a easy A
Not bull****ing his very intellectual. This class seems very easy since the tests and labs are all open book. Trust me take this class if u want an A
his class is boring...tests are easy. he doesn't ask u 2 do anything, but if u wanna understand, u have to read text n do problems. He's not helpful The final exam is 200 points with just 28 multiple choice questions. it sucks!
Sucked!
He is Crazy! we have 2 weeks left in school and he is giving us 400pts worth of material! (it is a 600pt class) He is very unclear, and some of his tests questions are really messed up! He does not explain things well either. He is a great guy tho....
Professor Sadeghi is very talented professor..Cool guy..His exams are easy if you study well. Solve maximum problems from the text..I don't think it is fair to judge a professor by the way he talks or walks...Nobody becomes a professor with No knowledge..

most horrible teacher i got a F grade.
The best professor in the world..He is very kind and talented..Highly recommended
This teacher is very cool. His quizzes are very easy. Exams are tricky. But if you do ur HW regularly, its an easy A. Very helpful teacher.
He's very nice and understanding. I took him last June and I got a 'B'. I like his class because there are no quizzes like other professors who like to torture students every time b4 the exam. He just went over the lectures and at a period of time when you are ready for the exam then he gives.KOOL!
he is a nice guy and all, but not a good teacher i couldn't even understand him, much less what was going on in the class
he is very hard to understand. he rambles on and on and basically puts you to sleep every single lecture. he does all the work himself on the board and doesnt allow you to learn jack squat. NOT RECOMMENDED!
very unclear! does not help at all. talks to the board when teaching. dont take him. take de vogalare.
Math is generally an easy subject for me. I lasted less than 2 weeks in this guys class- not because the subject was too difficult, but because I was being taught NOTHING. I can deal with an accent, but this guy was out of touch with the class. If you learn well on your own, go for it. Wasn't for me
His class was the worst class I've ever taken so far. I couldn't understand what he was talking about, and he didn't give us enough information. I would rather to study by myself, in order to catch up this section. WAST OF MY TIME!!!
He is a monotone teacher that does not expalin things very well, and does not really seem to care or help.
Although his lectures are a little dry he is more than willing to help you if you have questions. I am terrible at math and have never been good. I asked a million questions and he was always more than willing to answer them again and again until I understood. He also gives ample extra credit to help boost your grade.
I HATE his class...dont take it if u care about your math grade. I was really good in math before i took his class, because all my previous teachers took time to see if the class understood what they were teaching. This guy mostly talks to the board, then sometimes pauses and looks at the board for a long time.I dont know how he became a teacher...
I had trouble understanding him at first, but if you ask questions he is more than willing to help. If you don't understand just ASK. I hate math but I got an A in his class.
this teacher is very very bad in teaching but his tests are easy.. gives extra credit questions but they are damn difficult.. so quite pointless though. his lectures r boring n u dont have to listen.. just study by yourself and u will ace!!
This class moves very fast..quiz every week and test every 3 weeks....He dosent check hwk tat well so tats a free b..7 quizes, 3 tests and one final..test and quizes r very easy questions..but he cannot teach the material right..and lecture is boring..If u study by urself or get help like i did u find out tat its an esay class..
I find that the possibility of being mowed to a pulpy death by a hand operated lawn mower is more favorable to listening to this man try to teach. The lectures are the worst and he seems to be talking to himself. Why would anyone want to take a class where you have to teach yourself? That defeats the purpose of a teacher!
OMG what a bad teacher...he seriously needs to take "how to learn to be a professor" classes.. he constantly talks to the board. He does ask u once in a while DO U UNDERSTAND? but by then everyone is so lost and so bored they dont want to tell him they dont understand. Would not reccommend for ANY kind of math..Really hard teacher
First just because you get an F doesn't mean he's bad. Second he was very accomodating to me, i MISSED the final, he came to school for me on his off day and gave it to me, what a sweetheart! He's admitedly not very clear at times, he goes fast and if you're and idiot i suppose you shouldn't take his class.
nice teacher. make sure you do the homework and go to class. His accent isnt that bad.I dont know what every ones talking about because he teaches well and he willing to answer any questions you have.
Awesome teacher! go to class. he will answer any questions.
he answers questions, but he talks to the board and his speaks plainly so its easy to lose interest, he has an accent but it isn't too bad...he says attendance is mandatory, but he never take it...take him only if you have an interest in the subject or you will get bored and fall asleep...
Had him for stats, great teacher, he'll help you if you ask him, his lecture is boring if you're not interested but it doesn't matter because he does them so fast. self study and you will ace!
he was kinda hard. we use the book a lot. you end up self-studying most of the time. his accent is bareable.
Hes a good teacher and does care about his students but I feel like he gets discouraged too soon, especially when people are bored and dont participate in class. You need to do your homework before class because he does explain things really fast and if you dont remember the last class you will be completely lost. Accent, but not that bad.Cool guy
I was a straight A student until I took this class. Even though I had 4 other classes, I spent the last 3 months living and dreaming Stats. His lecture is incomprehensible. His tests are very hard if not impossible given how little he explains concepts. Class started with 60+ students and only 12 left. Of those maybe only half will pass.
Although his class is a little difficult, he is fairly flexible, reasonable, and fair.
I used to get all A's too but I actually failed. This is the HARDEST math teacher i ever got. The tests are almost NOTHING like the hw and the lecture - he doesn't like the book. The direction and questions on the tests are COMPLETELY different than hw and class examples. You have to be REALLY good in math prior to the class. He changes everything.
mr. sadeghi was very helpful, clear and well to the point with math subject and had me interested in math extensively. he has given extra time for questioning and subjective helps as well as given make up exam to all who could not pass. I rate this professor very highly and will taken another math subject with him and will recommend to others.
An O.K. Teacher. He talks to the board, and his lectures are boring. Notes are not required though, and he writes the most important stuff in one area. I have just been doing my homework while he lectures, and it's a relatively light load, I recommend doing extra problems that look challenging. Patient, nice, knows his stuff, so far.
this is the hardest teacher I ever had. Math is not my best subject, but I am A student, I worked so hard in this class and I just had to drop because he wasnt going to pass me. Now I have to take class again. Won't give extra credit, even though he said he would, most of class has dropped, except the math brains. thanks to him I wasted a quarter.
His tests are extremely hard and nothing like the quizzes or homework but he is a really laid back teacher. He doesn't care if you walk out randomly during the class. Take this class if you know pre calc.
Test are Similar to his practice tests. His class are boring sometimes. I thought his test were easy...(probably because I do the homework, which is not turned in.) 3 test + 1 final, 3 retakes. if you are at 89.1% (B) and show him you did all the hw he had on his green sheet. he'll bump you up to an A.
This guy is a terrible teacher. Teachers like him should be reported. Avoid this guy like the plague.
He can be a tough teacher. With the use of the STudent answer booklet, you can self teach..and math 114 shouldn't be that hard anyways. He will give extra credit upon request just try talking to him. He is a nice guy, his tests and quizzes are easy as long as you do the homework.
Every time i take a math class at De Anza, i end up with the worst teachers ever! I thought i had had the worst, until i had him. His lectures are boring and horrible. Nothing he teaches ends up on the exams. Avoid him if you can! I had to teach myself everything from the book, i got a tutor, and i still failed. He should be fired!
this guy is ok. he teaches straight outta the book, so you can basically teach yourself if u wanted to. theres a quiz every last day of the week, and only on those days so you can basically skip out on all the other days and still pass. hes boring, but hell help you if you need it. and you never usually stay the whole class either so thats a plus.
I didnt have him for class but he was my Tutor for Math 112 and he is amazing! Such a nice man and very helpful and patient! A++++++!
I don't know why he has such bad ratings, but he's really not bad at all. Yes, he teaches straight from the book but the way he words the concepts, it makes it easier to understand. Occasionally he can be funny and usually get out of class early. He teaches good in my opinion and his tests aren't bad at all. He even lets you use calculators
Really struggled with this class. But I hear he's still not as bad as some of the other stats teachers. Read the book, do the probs, and it's a somewhat easy A.
he's a nice guy but your pretty much going to be teaching yourself this subject. make sure you do the extra credit it replaces lowest test score. tests are insanely hard, and final is the worst. he doesn't collect hw but suggests you do it and i totally suggest reading sections prior to class and doing all the practice problems.
HIS TEACHING IS VERY BORINGBUT IF YOU DO THE ONLINE HW THE WEBSITE WILL HELP U STUDY, FYI I GOT AN A FOR THIS CLASS
He's a very nice man and extremely helpful if you ask for it. But his classes are really boring and you will probably have to teach yourself from the textbook and do all the homework (not collected) if you want a good grade.
too much of homework...didnt learn anything from this class. It was a total waste of time .only reason i took his class was because there was no other class available
Overall, his teaching skills are very ineffective. It made me question how professors get their credentials to teach. This professor might know his own Math, but he lacks the basic standards of a proper educator.
I had to drop him quick. He knows his math but doesn't know how to teach worth the life of him. He gets you lost on things you already know. The only way to get through this class is to tech yourself.
well, he is a really nice prof. If you ask him, he will answer all of the question. No quizzes, just 3 exam, 1 final, and home work from webassign. That's all. His way of teaching is boring.
He doesn't really care about the students as he doesn't take attendance and doesn't give any extra credit, also, his teaching is quite vague. Fortunately, the homework is online so it is possible to take a few tries(5 i think)to get the right answer, thus making it easy to get full marks. His exams can vary from easy to difficult, so study!!!
He knows his math but doesn't pace himself efficiently so certain material was rushed. Gives lots of online homework but with generous amount of time to complete. He tends to give the chapter's last few homework assignments after its exam so watch out. He contradicts his syllabus which states attendance was mandatory but he doesn't take roll.
He is very... in his own world. Knows math, but doesn't exactly know how to teach it. But he is nice if you go and talk to him.
He is one of the easiest and nicest instructors ive ever had, very clear on his tests, let you bring a sheet of paper during hi test,so what do you want?you can easily get an A.He also extremely helpful, ask a question and you'll see how he helps you. RECOMMENDED for sure.
His class is easy. He lets you bring a sheet of paper to the exam. Exams are very straight forward. 3 midterms one final. no quizzes.
Nice guy good teacher!
nicest teacher
he is really good, the only problem is, his classes are boring. he always stay in class and answer the student questions, and i really recommend him.
He is kind of easy, but his class is boring. Any way, he is still willing to help if you have questions.
i hate this teacher, he's not clear and is incredibly boring. don't recommend taking his class at all
Great teacher
His tests are pretty hard, but not impossible. His lectures are REALLY boring and long. Half the class doesn't show up. Lots of hw, but generous time to do it. He gives extensions if you ask. Only take him if your really good at math andor if you can go for a two hour lecture without dozing off.
Lectures drag on because class is 2 hours. He helps if you ask. Visit his office and talk with him. Webassign homework is generously 150700 total points. C range is 60-79%! I really recommend practicing the book too. Weekly quizzes and may forget to announce them, unless you ask. And ask him what material they cover. 1 sheet notes for quiztests
Lectures are very long, do the homework and study from the book. Quiz every week material is not easy but if you do the HW it should be enough. I did OKAY on the quizzes (did not take all of them) and got B's on my test's and passed the class with an A.
I don't know why the reviews are so negative! His class is actually really easy if you do hw. Lectures can be a bit confusing but videos on Webassign (w hw questions) help a lot. He lets the class to leave early. Weekly moderate quizzes + 3 easy midterms. Doable amt of hw. He's willing to help. If you don't get an A, it's probably your fault.
One of the worst instructors I have ever had. If you're a person that can teach themselves everything, this may be a class for you. Homework is assigned and graded by a program online, and I would rather have that program teach the class to be honest. Very intelligent teacher, when it comes to instructing and teaching it to others he's horrible.
His notes are all over the place and there is no structure. Don't take his class if math isn't your strong subject! You have to teach yourself a lot of the time and I feel like he was trying to figure the material himself. I don't know why he has good reviews because he is the worst math teacher I have ever had.
If all the great teacher has been chosen, I actually recommend him. He has a accent which may be hard to understand. I like his way of lecture, which is just pull questions out of the book and shows how to solve it on the board. It is better than some teacher giving vague handout. Doesn't answer e-mail but he will 100% answer any question by person
Mathematics is my favorite subject, and this professor made me second guess what I wanted my degree to be. Never answers countless e-mails, but will try to answer questions in class. Confusing lectures that are long and boring. If you do not have prior knowledge to what he's teaching, don't take. I had previous knowledge and still struggled.
Absolutely not fluent in English with a heavy indian accent. Never answer to any emails. Will help if you only ask him during or after classes. Long and boring lectures with constant long pauses. One of the worst math teachers I've ever had.
At first he didn't seem half bad, but he got lazy towards the end and just ended up showing us these extremely dated videos of this guy wearing sweaters working on old programs doing the problems. Literally, he did not speak the entire time, just played videos. Better just read the textbook. His tests were confusing and he did not prep us well.
Great teacher if you need help try to come earlier. He will answer any of your questions. Although he may seem mad, he's pretty nice and the first few days might be awkward. Overall, if you just do the homework and study a bit the quizzes and tests aren't too bad. If you haven't done algebra in a while I suggest you practice a bit.
He wasn't as bad a teacher as I expected. He does give quite a bit of homework, and his lectures are just showing us problems, but I did learn quite well and it made sense. We have quizzes every week and four tests, so you really can't miss class. Overall nice though and implemented many policies to try and help our grades.
Not a great lecturer, i found it better to just read the book in class and ignore what he was saying. Assign online webassign hk like 8-20 questions per section. Quizes are hard but arent worth much. 1st midterm was hard got a C. 2nd midterm for my class was takehome and got an A. He is nice, but grades sorta harsh. Gives some partial credit.
Allow cheat sheets
Do not take his class. He is unclear and his tests are difficult. He is rude and unapproachable which makes asking what you did wrong on the test difficult. He also doesn't check your work. If you get the answer wrong, even if it's a negative instead of positive, he marks the whole problem wrong
He explains the material well & uses examples to help you understand different ways to solve it. Requires webassign for hw where the deadlines give you ENOUGH time to complete them, even after the test. Provides extra credit in a sly way, so be alert to hear the opportunities. Does have an accent, but you can understand him after you get use to it.
YOU NEED TO STUDY REALLY HARD TO GET AN A+. Pay lots of attention on his lectures, exams are based on what he taught.
If you are comfortable with math and learning by reading the book on your own, this is the right professor for you. His lectures are hard to understand, and I don't recommend it to international students because he talks fast, and is not caring when you ask questions.
At first I was dreading coming to this class. After the third meeting, the professor lightened up. He is incredibly caring in regards to making sure any questions you may have are answered 100%. However, be keen on your homework and really take the time to master the material. Tests can be a bit crazy!!! Study smart, and you'll do fine.
His lectures are very monotone... he's a little hard to understand.
He doesnt really care about you. Its my first and definitely the last class with him. Youre on your own in this class. The only good thing is that hes not strict about the turn in papers deadlines. You can easily turn them in later. Very heavy lectures.
Just, don't take it!!!!!!!!
His lectures are very long and boring and the HW is online. He does not explain very well he just does the work. gives lots of EC, he's very nice and caring. If you ask for help he will most likely do the work himself, not explain, and give you the answer.
I took this professor a couple of quarters ago. The class is definitely passable. However, Professor Bijan does have a strong accent and it was difficult to see the work done on the whiteboard. I personally fell asleep many times due to the atmosphere in the class. Tests are relatively easy, and he drops the lowest test. Beware of pop quizzes.
Horrible professor, first of all you can't understand anything he is teaching and when you ask him to explain he just repeats the same thing with no explanation. Furthermore what he teaches in the class cannot be applied in the homework, everything in WebAssign is done differently, it's like you're not even learning in his. Highly not recommended.
Honestly I just got railed in this class. He shows steps for the problems well enough, but I didn't understand his explanations. All homework is done through WebAssign, which can be picky about things like rounding your answers. There's either a quiz or test weekly, allows a page of notes for tests. A genuinely good guy, but not a good teacher IMO.
He doesn't even try to lecture or help students understand. Not only did he ignore most emails, but he was also inaccessible outside class. He had a technical error for WebAssign assignments and chose not to resolve it and remained silent on the issue. Most students blatantly cheated and he takes no action. Do yourself a favor don't take this class
He is a great, caring professor who is very fair in his grading and expectations. I dont know what some of these other people are talking about because hes very accessible outside of class. He doesnt respond to emails but a lot of professors dont. He still welcomes students coming up to him after or before class or going to his office hours.
He is a really nice guy who does care for every Student but in order to understand the materials you need to pay attention cause he doesn't explain every single step. Around 34% of your grade comes from webAssign which is generous compare to other professors. No quiz, 2 midterms and final. His class is manageable and easy as long as you study well.
Lazy teacher. Have free online textbook resources. Homework will be check at the end of the quarter, he will just take a look and write down something is fine. 3 tests and final exam. 90% of time is self-learning. Some topic is difficult and you need to install the program in calculator yourself or use the dumb way that he taught.
Don't take him. Grading is not clear. Based only on midterms.
This professor is one of the best Math professors in De Anza. He teaches well and helps around if you are in need. Your grade is based on two midterms , finals and homework. The homework accounts for 34% of your grade and the exam is fair and decent. Overall, he has handled most situations well and I have no problems with him!
I would not recommend taking this professor over the summer. He doesn't cover material properly and his tests are very hard. Homework was easy on webassign, but did not prepare me well for his tests.
Took him over Summer(2021). He is very easy. Quizzes and midterm (including final) are MCQs. Total points are 700 points. HW 200 points and uses Webassign. Quizzes 100 points. 2 midterms (200 points). Final 200 points. This is a self-study class. You need to learn everything by yourself. Take him if you can self-study and easy A.
The person below ME is really trolling. It's just webassign. final stupid but tests aight. I gotta agree with the person 2 spaces below me. It's simply a self study class. Just take a different prof if u need help. Also pretty funny during zoom - "professor u said only 2 section on quiz but there were 3" - "oh ok" XD my man trollin! Bijan bless :P
The student just right below me is trolling. He ruins my GPA and he can't teach at all. The tests and quizzes are though ngl. Take him at your own risk.
The best math teacher at De Anza. His lectures are really clear and he has a live zoom session. Attendance is not mandatory as he records every zoom session and posts them about an hour after the live session. All of his tests are multiple-choice and are similar to the homework question with no tricky surprises. I wish I could take him again!!
Lectures are exact copies of what the textbook says and are useless. If you want to be ready for future math, you will have to self-study a lot, or take a different professor. I will admit, the tests and quizzes are all extremely easy if you know the material. I would have gotten an A if I had tried harder
Lectures are useless so just use youtube. A couple exams and weekly quizzes on canvas(so make sure to have a discord up). Homework on webassign, usually due at the end of the entire section. He's pretty bad with communication but your best bet is to message through canvas. Easy enough class with the canvas stuff.
he never replies to your emails
lectures are pretty useless and they're copy & pasted from the book. if you want to do well you really have to self-study. quizzes, tests, and final are all open note but you can't go off of open notes + his lectures alone if you want to do well.
His lectures are unhelpful, he does not answer the questions properly when asked, and they're really boring to sit through. At one point he made attendance not mandatory, and I never showed up to his classes other than to take the exams. Throughout the quarter I basically just self studied, learned more by staying at home and doing the homework.
A lot of boring, unengaging lectures. A LOT of homework so stay on top of that. Quizzes and exams are all online and account for 500 points while the homework accounts for 200. This is a very fast paced class and you're learning new concepts every day. So be prepared to do a lot of work.
The lectures weren't very useful, but using unstuck ai and the free textbook helped me self-study effectively. Tests were tough, but manageable with the right prep. Overall, a challenging class, but doable if you put in the work.
Precalculus 2 IRL - $70 cengage requirement for homework - LOTS OF HMK Stay up to date - Useless / boring / tedious lectures, nonengaging (no participation needed). Every class I did the hmk than pay attention. He was that boring. 3 midterms, few quizzes, 1 final. Spend your class time wisely doing homework than following the lecture. Please trust.
Continuing my review from before: There was a kid in the backright of the class during an exam right next to me. Bro had his entire laptop out for the class to see and the prof did not give no fs. Be discrete, don't hide ur phones in calculators. On exam days, if u arrive early he makes you seat up to the front. Arrive a little late. Trust me.
Class itself isn't incredibly tough to pass as long as you can self teach since lectures aren't very engaging. A lot of hw. Beware if you take him async, the canvas assignments and grading is incredibly unclear. He hardly ever responds to emails and even when he does, he doesn't provide much help. I'm sure he's a nice guy but not a great professor.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR. Lectures have < 5 people engaging by 3rd week so. Weekly test and expects almost 12-15 hrs of prep a week to be prepared for the quizzes and tests. Final and HW weighted ~30%, so don't leave for end. not incredibly tough if you know the content previously, but no point going to lectures TLDR: Bad prof., semi hard class content
Try to avoid the most you can, average on the second test was a 48% and average on the final was a 68% but the professor didn't even bother rounding. Almost no one in the class got an A, the second test and final had questions that weren't even in the homework, extremely bad lectures, lots of homework, please avoid.
If you cannot self-study math, choose a different professor. Lectures were long and confusing but were identical to the textbook. HW's all online and assigned all at once. Weekly quizzes almost identical to HW but due date is often afterwards so people don't do well. Final was difficult but boosts lowest exam grade if you do well on part of it.
