not a bad teacher actually very helpful if you take the time to ask and pay attention. math is never exciting, but she did provide study guides with problems and answers for both the mid-term and final that was very useful. just pay attention.

She was not understandable at times.. at all.. and class could be very boring. Attendance was taken by a sign-in sheet that was passed around. Although, she was boring she was pretty helpful. The reviews for midterms and finals were extremely handy.

My High school junoir math class was 10 times harder than this class. I liked her style of teaching. She made it super simple and taught us like we were 8th graders. I would do the HW on the L or in the beginning of class, and tests were easy. just dont get too comfortable or your grade will slip

Professor Varghese did a great job in teaching 4 chapters of material in only 10 weeks. She offered tons of help and made great note packets to study from. At times she seemed overwhelmed, but she rewards attendance and good effort. Highly recommended!

Birju is by far the best Math Prof. at DePaul. It's not that she cares what people think of her its just that she shows that she genuinely cares. I struggle with math, a lot. Professor Varghese is a wonderful teacher. Her tests are not meant to trick her students. If you do the homework, the tests are based right from it. A great teacher and i struggle with math. Her grade scale works in your favor, ex: and 60 percent is a c-. If you dont pass the class you kinda deserve not to. She is strict and will call you out if your acting a little rude. Calc isnt easy but she makes it easier. The class is 2 tests (40%), hw plus attendence(20%) final plus mid term (40%).

I had a pretty bad teacher for 135 and was worried I wouldn't be prepared for 136 and I was wrong! Varghese is a wonderful teacher who honestly wants you to succeed. Ask her questions if you're confused, she wants to help! Even though it's an 8:30am class, it's worth it. Just don't talk during her lecture, she takes that very seriously.

She is willing to help you because she really does want to make sure that alll of her students learn the material, but she also likes to have 15 minute long speeches about not interrupting her class. If you know nothing about calc, take her class because you will for sure learn, but if you like math, you might get bored.

Best Business Calc. teacher there is. The tests are pretty easy if you pay attention in class. She always has an extra credit problem at the end of each test. I ended up getting a 105% in her class because of it.

First, she teaches extremely quickly and fits a lot into her lessons. Second, she is very understanding and if you talk to her after class or show any interest, she will help you out if your grade is suffering. She is hard but teaches very well. Her tests are all basically written. But I must say, she really knows how to teach the subject great. Just beware of written tests, no multiple choice. If you struggle with math, take Prof Varghese's class!!! She is an amazing professor and wants everyone to succeed, best explainer of material I have had in my entire school career. If you don't understand, ask!!!! She will explain until you do. That being said, this prof expects class participation. Fav prof who makes it easy to succeed.

Professor Varghese is a fantastic instructor. She makes math look easy. She is very professional and will use the entire class time to teach, answer questions, and solve math problems. She cares a lot about her students, sometimes even more than many students deserve. Take her class and you will do well if you put in the effort.

She puts an emphasis on the basics so you can understand how and why you are supposed to do the problems in that way. She is tough only if you don't actually try. She does her best to be understanding and help you. If you aren't understanding something go to her office hours she's really nice.

I enjoyed having Professor Varghese for my MAT 130 class. She explains everything thoroughly and takes her time teaching everything, so it is understandable. Tests are just like the homework so if you practice, you will have no problem doing the in-class quizzes and tests. Would definitely take her again and highly recommend her to others.
