Class is allrigt, teacher is xcelent gived u ample opportunity to et a good mark, took this class in saturdays really understanding. if u just read the text book you'll get a great mark, if you o to class the mark will be even easier.. so u r choice
Bill is a great teacher. He is always willing to help us out, even on his own time. He is extremely flexible, and overall a great prof.
Mr. Agamah is a very nice teacher. He treats students very fairly. He is always patient with his students and very helpful. His teaching is fantastic. He is knowlegeable in his area, economics. He is also good at teaching. It is obvious that he is well prepared before each class. He also asked for our advice for better teaching ways we prefer.
Bill knows his micro economics. His ability to relate all principles to everyday examples we are all familiar with is highly effective and takes the drabness out of what could be a painfully boring subject. His concern that every student knows each principle and his stopping to ensure as such shows his devotion to students and passion for class.
He was very helpful in whatever we needed, although i feel that his tests were extrememly long! The short answer questions were a seperate test in themselves, but other than that I feel he did a very good job at teaching the course, very clear and informative.
I enjoyed this professor a great deal. Informative and gave clear explanations of material. I would definately consider another economics course with Bill.
Looove Bill! Absolutely no need to attend class. Doesnt show up sometimes and teaches straight from text. Tests are pretty much taken from study guide... but final was actually pretty hard. Watch for the jeans on fridays!!
don't go to class and you will dp great, spend class time reading your text book instead, will insure A+
It's hard to follow what he's saying sometimes. He teaches straight from the book though. He's a chilled out guy and easy to talk to. But don't expect more than 4 words in his response to your email inquiries; it's better to seem him in his office.
FANTASTIC - will spend time answering questions, uses great examples, and sincerely makes the effort to ensure you understand the material.
Hello, please dont bother coming to this hello class. Hello Bill is a great hello eager to teach prof, hello, but because he has a hard time expressing himself (he is foreign) I would hello recommend just staying hello at home and studying on your own hello time. Come the day before exams to get hints. HELLO WE LOVE BILL
get past his accent and he is amazing
Bill is a really good teacher. His main focus is to ensure that everybody understands the concepts, and he is willing to help you 100% if you ask for it. His accent is easy to understand, and does not interfer with his lectures at all. His tests are very appropriate to the material being taught and his main goal is for his students to succeed.
Bill is a beauty, total GPA booster, he tells you the answers for his test, and explains everything really well. Sometimes has trouble with his accent but hes a great prof
Great prof. He teaches straight from the book but make sure you understand it. He summarizes each chapter and tells you what parts are important. If you attend class then you will have better knowledge what's going to be on the exam. If you ever have a problem he is always willing to help.
Bill is a very friendly fair prof. Always willing to help, sometimes clarity is an issue. Makes attempts to get class involved. Gives marks for answered questions, GO BILL!!
Once you get over how funny Bill sounds, you realize he knows what he is talking about and that his class is a fun way to learn about economics. "Hello? Is everyone ok?"
Bill is totally awesome, this class was the one I looked forward to every MWF. He is a really funny guy and his accent doesn't get in the way. His exams are 100 percent fair so don't complain. "Hello, everyone on the board."
Bill is wonderful. It was hard to get past his accent at first, but now I don't even notice it. He assigns homework, and will grade it if you want him to. Make sure you read and bring your text, he takes a lot of examples from there and clears things up. Awesome!
I can't say enough great things about Bill. He's a very fair marker, and his exams are mind numbingly easy as long as you attend class and read the textbook as that's where he gets all of his MC questions from. This class is an easy A, but if you fall behind it is hard to catch up.
Very nice teacher. Classes help break down the material. He just goes over what you NEED to know so in the end it saves you time to go to class. DO NOT USE THE STUDY GUIDE!i found so many mistakes in the questions it will probably make u do worse! :(
he was always very funny, but sometimes hard to understand with his accent. he explained everything well but I thought his tests were quite hard but overall he was good.
Bill is awesome! Very passionate about what he teaches! Midterms and final accurately reflected what was taught in class.
Best prof ever! "Hello?" He always kept us lively and everything he taught was on the exam which was fair as long as you attended class. Highly recommend this prof to anyone that wants to do well. He is willing to help you out after hours at any time.
A really nice guy, but very dry and repetitive most of the time. I lost my interest for economics because of this class, perhaps it was just because it was 101 but I would not take another class with him. However, he is kind and humble and helpful. The exams were not very good though, not what we covered in class. I felt a bit cheated.
Bill is a very helpful guy and teaches the materials well. But his exams are way too hard. You will not receive part marks for written questions and want very in-depth answers. He draws multiple choice from test bank with confusing wording. Attendance not mandatory as long as you study every graph, term, formula and paragraphs in the textbook.
Bill expects you to read the textbook chapters before the week's lessons begin, yet his lessons are less detailed, with a lack of clarity. He says "hello?" every three words for no apparent reason and he expects you to read all of the terms out of the textbook during the lecture, rather than explaining them. If you read, attendance is redundant.
Very nice guy, the lectures don't efficiently cover the content of exams. You'll have to study from the textbook
He constantly talks about the NAIT textbook and will refer to it almost every class. He also says "hello, on the board!" almost every 10mins or so to wake everyone up. He doesn't give assignments or graded homework so everything is based off 2 midterms and a final. So bomb one midterm and you are screwed! and he has extremely wordy exams.
He's not a bad prof but everything is based on 2 midterms, I wish he would take in assignments for marks. Exams are based off the textbook. I personally wouldn't take a class with him again just because I didn't like his teaching style.
The only times you should go to class is the class before the midterm because thats when he'll tell you what to expect on the test. Classes were only 50 minutes but felt like eternity, don't go to class just read the text book you ll learn better that way. He's a nice guy but I don't like his teaching style and his notes are messy.
Helpful in Class and during office hours as well. Wants you to learn. However, exams are relatively hard and are mostly based on class work. Don't skip his classes and read his notes and you will be fine.
NO ASSIGNMENTS. 2 MIDTERMS AND A FINAL. BORING LECTURES ALL SEMESTER. TEACHING STYLE SUCKS, GREAT PERSON THOUGH. CAN BE FUNNY ONCE IN A WHILE BUT DONT EXPECT ANYTHING FANTASTIC AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ENERGY DRINK BEFORE YOU GET TO CLASS. OR THREE. FELL ASLEEP FIRST CLASS OF THE SEMESTER.
Bill is not a terrible prof but his lectures are all over the place, quite dry and you must read the textbook. Midterms were fair but the final was really hard.
please dont take this class i strongly reccomend
Not a bad prof but midterms and final exam were extremely tough. He doesn't give any assignments so your whole mark is based upon two midterms and the final.
Really nice guy but his teaching skills are questionable, he likes to call on students and puts them on the spot. A little hard to understand sometimes, he likes to use the boards to write his notes so it might be hard to read and misspells terms. Had to drop the class, if you can avoid it.
He is a good instructor. There is no assignmet. Only tough exams are there. He should add up the assignment work. So that grade level can rise up. Exams are quite difficult. No classfail
He says "hello" a lot to try and get your attention. Hes not a bad teacher, has a really strong accent tho and is kind of hard to understand. If you listen very closely and are able to understand what he is saying you will do just fine.
Bill is a great prof. He knows his stuff. Funny, clear and tests are easy and fair. Definitely recommend!
Knows what he's talking about, but it's hard to follow him. Accent is thick in pronouncing some technical terms. Marking is very fair and exams are a little unclear, but as long as you read the textbook you're fine. Overall funny guy.
Bill is a terrible professor. He doesn't come prepared to teach, will yell at the class if you don't understand or ask him to repeat himself. He only has 2 midterms 1 at 25, 1 at 35, and a final. So there is no homework to gauge if you are understanding the material. He is unprofessional and unclear in his instruction. 0/10. Bill gave me cancer.
Get ready to read your textbook! You cannot find any lecture notes online and no practice exam at all! Youd better attend every single really boring, really boring, really boring class, because he may mention some similar questions, which will be showed on the test. So be careful!
William is the worst professor for the following reasons: Obscure grading criteria, literally posts blackboard notes during class, then berates students for not having printed the material and being prepared. He pulls material off blackboard in 2 days, and is incredibly disengaging in class. The average was failing for both midterms. GPA killer.
he is in class on time, writes his notes, if you need help he is very helpful! if u need help and cannot make it to his office hours, just text him or email him and he will make time for you. I will take his class again! if u don't study, you will not do good! read your notes!!!!
He posts on Blackboard just before class so I would recommend having a laptop to view it rather than rushing to print it before class. He doesn't have online notes so taking notes in class and the textbook are essential to passing. He also refers to test questions in class so pay attention for those.
I had William Agamah a.k.a '' Bill '' last term and if you are reading this, DO NOT CHOOSE this professor, CHOOSE other professors that teaches ECON 101. I had a problem with his accent(SOTHICK), no PPT notes at BB and according to my BCOM advisor, this professor has the highest drop out rate at MacEwan. Thanks bill for ruining my university life
I went to all his classes and he made everything very clear. He drew out every graph and example he could think of. Would recommend taking him him. He even took examples out of the textbook and told you exactly what to expect on the midterm. If you attend all his classes, you will pass. If you put in extra effort A+. I put in minimal effort.
Super easy class if you show up and write down his notes exactly as are. If you don't show up good luck
I had William (Bill) for econ 102 and at first was scared because of his thick accent. In all honesty though, as long as you go to class, and copy down his notes you will be more than fine. His notes are pretty much exactly whats on his midterms. He practically gives you the topics for short answer as well. He does 1 mind tap quiz/wk - very easy
Accent is very hard to understand, and his lectures are very confusing.. Often students would start a debate with him just to distract him, because he would ramble on for the entire class about things irrelevant to the course material. Tests are difficult, as the written response questions are marked hard.
Accent is nearly impossible for most to understand, tests are made to be fairly challenging but you should do fine if you attend regularly. However, classes are quite dry apart from when students decide to argue with him. Overall would recommend against choosing Bill. In short, he tends to be confusing, misleading, and a tough grader.
excellent marker
His accent is difficult to understand at times. He refuses to put notes online, and doesn't like technology which means he writes on the board. His writing can be hard to read and his grammar isn't the best. Throws around random bonus marks and never pulls through.
His accent can be hard to understand but he writes all notes on the board. Doesn't post notes online so show up to class and take notes and the class will be easy. Explains everything well, tests are easy, doesn't give assignments.
Accent isn't that bad but english could use some work. Makes you buy a $100 mindtap code for 101. Nice guy but could mark a little bit easier especially when questions are semi ambiguous and non-specific (especially written response). Marks are based on 2 midterms, final, & homework.
His lectures are very boring and long. He requires you to buy the brand new book with the online access code for assignments. The assignments take a lot of time every week and the online access is not helpful at all and actually had reached the deadline before finals so you can't use it to study. He doesn't post notes or grades. Not recommended!
Not recommend this class weekly online homework which would be helpful to study for the final accept not accessible after classes The professor try's to get student involvement in the questions and often doesn't put the answer on the board after. Must attend lectures he writes out notes and doesn't post anything online Poor communication skills
Dont like this prof AT ALL. Barely tells you what will be on tests. Makes a supposedly easy and straight forward course very hard and confusing. Doesn't post ANYTHING online. Seriously, I still have no idea what I even got on my final I just know the final grade I received. Take a different prof if you want a decent grade.
William or Bill? Took me weeks to understand he was the same person. Tough grader, and his material is unclear. His accent was difficult to understand, and because of that it was difficult to ask questions. If you can avoid this professor please do and, save yourself.
At the beginning of the semester his lectures were helpful but progressively got worse throughout. He barely uses blackboard and don't expect to know your grade because he doesn't post anything. I didn't have any issue with his accent but when asked questions he brushes you off & doesn't answer them directly.
Will (or Bill, who knows) made it very hard to get through econ. His accent is not too hard to understand, but his lectures are dry and he doesn't give examples of test questions. I wouldn't recommend.
This class killed my GPA which otherwise would have been good. Didn't have syllabus posted, therefore couldn't contact outside of classes. Tests content was unclear, both midterms had failing grades. Wouldn't give help when asked, was also rude about it. Ruined my first semester of university, avoid this prof.
The absolute worst teacher I have ever had in my life. He doesn't care about the students, and doesn't have a good teaching style. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! If you can take another professor, do yourself a favor and switch asap.
Has a terribly thick accent which you can barely understand. His exams vary in difficulty for each exam. For example, your friend might get an easier exam than you because of the different long answers. Exams are really hard in general and he tells you to just read the question again when you ask him about a question you don't understand.
Lectures are long and boring. I couldn't understand a word he said half the time. The course naturally starts off easy, so it's not noticeable but when you progress it gets harder to understand him. He gets annoyed if you don't understand and will roast you sometimes. Overall I wouldn't take him again.
Bill is average, if you don't learn well from reading the textbook, chose a different prof.
Although his accent is kind of hard to hear, he will write down all the main points on the board. Mid term is not hard, if you show up, read the text book and do all your homework your grade will be ok.
Bill is a good prof. Had him for Econ 102 and its what you should expect with a uni course. if you show up, take notes, and do you due diligence you'll be fine.
Bill lectures the whole class which is long and boring. He doesn't understand technology doesn't use powerpoints at all or blackboard very much only to post grades. His accent is difficult to understand so if your okay learning on your own you'll do just fine otherwise find a better prof.
Great Prof if you show up to class take notes you will pass
He didn't make his expectations clear for any of the homework or tests. He wouldn't follow the syllabus at all and would work ahead and fall behind on a regular basis.
Classes are dry, with vague, scattered notes. Online homework isn't hard at all and gives you a false sense of understanding prior to the exams, which are marked comically hard. If I learnt anything in that class, it was how to fight for part marks.
Oh Bill or Will. In class notes were ok, however instruction consisted of him incoherently muttering to himself with the occasional HELLO HELLO. Online assignments were somewhat helpful, but quite lengthy and did not reflect the exams, or in class instruction. Exams were specific. Avoid if you don't want to self study the textbook.
I found it more confusing when I went to class and listener to his lectures. If you read the chapters and the online notes as well as do all the mindtap homework you wont have any issues getting a good mark in this class. In my opinion class is optional. Only go before quizzes as hell give you a break down and some examples of what might be tests.
FUNNIEST PROF IVE EVER HAD. If you pay attention you get his jokes. It was my favourite class this term and i would 100% recommend him. At the beginning his accent is strong so you think you've made a mistake but if you show up to class you will learn that he is the best prof ever. As well if you study applications you'll easily pass the tests.
Bill honestly is a pretty nice guy, but I would not recommend taking his class. He is hard to understand, and the powerpoints he posts are made not by him but by the textbook company, he gives zero study guides/practice material/midterm or final outlines, and you really just teach yourself the material.
Honestly, all you have to do in order to do well in Bill's class is show up and take notes. At times he may be hard to understand but his notes are pretty straight forward. He gives you hints on things he'll test you on. He also tells you what he'll test you on the classes before the midterms/final.
I had Bill for both ECON 101 and 102 in the same semester (big mistake) - I think this was a huge reason for my difficulty in his classes. He was often hard to understand and skipped around a lot in the textbook. He mentions that you should do the same on exams as his online assignments, although you do not. His exams are reasonable if you study.
Bill was an alright teacher. His in class notes were okay. They did give good hints/help for the exam. Mindtap/online text was excellent with lots of extra help questions and explanations, worth it to pay the extra $. His exams were very fair if you studied from the text and notes. He wasn't very helpful in office hours, mostly rushed me out.
While I think he is a nice teacher his class was very unorganized.
Good prof. but you have to actually attend lectures. He is funny and genuinely wants to help you learn. Tests are easy, he tells you exactly what will be on them. No assignments, only 5 unit tests and the final. Show up, and you will be just fine!
Super test heavy, I hate how there are only exams and no assignments to balance out final grade
Bill's a good guy. Read the notes before class and the lecture becomes a lot more comprehensible and useful. You COULD just memorize the powerpoints yourself and get a B, but if you also study using the questions from the textbook, an A is very achievable. His lecture style isn't for everyone; it is very jumpy, but he's funny and willing to help.
Get ready to self-study the textbook. Although Bill has a good sense of humor, his lectures are scattered, confusing, and hard to understand due to his accent. Furthermore, he doesn't provide any practice questions beyond what's already in the textbook. His exams, which are the only assessments in the entire course, are marked comically hard.
Not a bad prof at all, got harder near the end of the semester but honestly thats probably cause Im not good at economics. He has no quizzes/assignments, just 4 midterms and a final. If you show up to every class you would probably do good as his lectures explain his powerpoints. Overall If your an organized student I would recommend this class.
I had him during 1st COVID hit, & everything was multiple-choice. The lectures were reasonable, but we mostly relied on slides that were organized quite well. I didn't do as well as I'd hoped, yet he was very caring, supportive, & motivational all along, so I did learn the substantial material. Recommend asking him for as many examples as possible.
Booo. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Bill is a nice enough guy, but he is so chaotic while he teaches, and at times it felt like he was yelling at the class for not know how to graph properly for a intro class. Lots of learning on your own, so be prepared for that. Will NOT be taking a class with Bill again.
im not really a econ person so i found this class extremely difficult. his exams were VERY hard and honestly didnt make sense. he'd make a multiple choice question worth 5 marks. hes a very nice guy and respectful to his students but personally he made this class difficult and i wouldnt take him again. maybe others would feel different about him.
The hardest class I have worked for was an A. I met Bill a couple of times to discuss test questions that didn't make sense and had no luck with him understanding my confusion. While he is a funny guy, and his lectures can be entertaining, the tests are difficult for the basic material and not an excellent introduction to economics.
Third year student who is interested in Econ. Took it and his exams are filled with errors and multiple repeating questions. Asked him a question to clarify something and he responded with " This Is university and circled the question" Okay? this is uni and you're still making mistakes on your exams, not my fault you don't know how to write exams.
Bill is so caring, so kind, really funny, and a great lecturer. -Always trying to find new ways to teach and be effective. -Explains everything thoroughly. -Always happy and smiling. Make jokes and make his class laugh. -Tests accurately reflect his lectures.
Who is Bill? I sit in a spot where sometimes I can't see what's written on the board due to a computer in the way. Bill stops what he's doing, and asks if I can see. I answer, "Yes," and he comes anyway and tries to position himself at my angle to make sure I wasn't too shy to tell him for real. How caring! word count won't let me continue
He is very nice and cares about his students. Allowed me to move my test date because I didn't feel ready. Great professor would 100 percent recommend
Mr.Agamah is a good person but this class will tank your GPA. There are 4 unit exams 3 worth 15% of your mark and 1 worth 10%. In the last 2 weeks he assigns the 4 hardest chapters and the final is 80% based on them. And 20% on the other chapters. The final is worth 45%. I would say avoid at all costs ESPECIALLY if you're doing full course load!!!!
Very thick accent making it difficult to understand him. I found I was teaching myself concepts majority of the time. He wouldn't answer questions and seems like he doesn't understand you either. He's a funny and kind guy but wouldn't recommend taking his class if you have a hard time with language barriers or need assistance in class.
I just don't get his teaching style... His lectures are kinda all over the place and he calls on random people a lot. I taught myself most of the course and would find myself being more confused after listening to him explain stuff. He is a really kind guy though, will even make time to meet you outside of his own availability.
his lectures were hard to understand through his thick accent. he's a caring and funny guy but very hard to understand. the course was graded on 5 things, 4 midterms and a final worth 45% which provides no room for error
