The best Calculus teacher ever. He explains everything very well. You will learn and understand the material if you take this professor. Much better than the calculus professors at Fresno State. The final is optional (if you are satisfied with your grade.) I would highly recomend.

THE GOD OF MATH - Crystal-clear explanations on everything, good sense of humor, teaches you everything from the ground up. Make sure to do your homework, it is worth a whole test grade. Also, each test is worth a varying amount of points. Ex, test 1 worth 98 points, test 2 worth 69 points, etc. so make sure to get clarification on this.

He is a great example of a teacher! He's very clear,never condescending and truely cares if you understand the material!

Mr. Allen is the best. He doesn't make you feel stupid for asking questions. I recommend his class, and dont worry, he only picks on the students he knows, its gets entertaining. :) This was a difficult class, however Mr. Allen is the best when it comes to professors... He doesnt assign a whole lot of homework, but he expects you to do it all.

Fair grading, opt. final exam, knows your name, humorous, explains "why & how?" clearly in steps & w/ many examples. HW everyday but very minimal, because many probs took long to work out, which he understood. Started class right on time, no sooner and never ever later... "don't miss the first five minutes!"

Great teacher for Calculus. Students from CSU Fresno go to W/I to take this teacher. He has a great style of teaching and knows Calculus inside and out. He goes over material clearly and will answer questions on HW. A+ teacher. Do the HW, go to class. Oh the down side no calculators. But no questions on test require a calculator.

He is the most awesome teacher I ever had. He actually teaches. I followed him from Fresno state. If you have to take pre calc, calc 1 or 2. TAKE IT WITH HIM. HES AMAZING. Do the hwk and show up to class everyday. He tells you what kinds of problems will be on the test. you have to work hard but i wouldnt take math with ANYONE else!!

Mr. Allen is the perfect teacher for all math students. People who don't enjoy or struggle with math, Mr. Allen is the professor to go to. He explains everything clearly and will always help any student who is struggling. He will work with the student to make sure they not just pass but actually understand the material he's teaching.

GREATEST MATH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Makes a very dificult subject understandable. Takes time to show why things work the way they do. Just a little strict on deducting points on tests for minor mistakes but he is not unfair. Any student would be blessed to have this professor

took in 2011- first off he looks like an old Neil Patrick Harris so that's a plus. In terms of teaching, he's brilliant for non math-oriented people. Gets his point across well, just make sure to ask questions if you have them. As with any math class, do the hw and you'll be set for the tests; ask questions along the way and an A will be no problem

Very easy class as long as you went to class and did the homework you will get a good grade. You also don't have to take the final if you are happy with your grade by the end of the semester.

Just go to class and do all the homework. Also, he lets you use a page of notes during the test. If you you do all the things above you will pass his class. Good luck

Very picky when he grades. He WILL dock you for the smallest error. I will say he is a great teacher though! Very detailed in his lectures. You HAVE to study though, it's not a walk in the park. Your grade depends on how well you understand the concepts and how much you study. He's a tad little challenging but definitely recommend taking him.

Great instructor! Allows notes for test. As long as you do your homework, come to class and pay attention (as with any class) you will pass. I feel he is lenient with grading. I will definitely be taking him for math 103.

As with an math class, you need to show up every day and need the book for homework. By far the best math teacher I've ever had. Very clear, very helpful, and a fun teacher with a great sense of humor. I wish he taught all my math classes. Very reasonable grading with partial credit. Do the homework and you'll do fine.

His ability to illustrate a concept and while keeping out the white noise was great. His sense of humor made the class enjoyable. he seems to know right when humor is appropriate without just "telling stories" or distracting the class. Hard hard HARD tests. In class 2+2+4, on homework y+7x, on test "calculate the volume of the sun with triangles".

Second semester with this guy, and I stand By what I said for 5A, he is really good. Take math with him if you can!

Mr. Allen is a great math teacher, he actually takes the time to explain WHY things happen or are the way they are, which I haven't encountered many times in math classes. He's very willing to help in his office hours, but you must reach out to him. He's a very charismatic, sociable, and caring professor and I'm glad to have him again for math 5b.

Mr Allen is no joke but if you are a good student with good habits, you'll be fine. I worked roughly 48 hours a week and took his class and another tough class. My mathematical background isn't that strong at all, I just worked my butt off and studied a lot. His class WILL prepare you for whatever classes are ahead of you.

A brief description of Professor Allen: A brilliant and caring, yet unbelievably sarcastic, man who pushes you to learn calculus as if you were going to have to teach it to someone else. He's very meticulous with his grading, but for good reason. Calculus is tough by nature but if you treat the class serious it should be manageable to get an A/B.

The BOMB, he is absolutely, hands down the best higher math prof/instructor around. Not only does he explain hard formulas easily but encourages you to understand the concepts. He's not in any shape or form a person who uses his intelligence of math intimidating towards you, but rather wants to help you understand it.

Amazing teacher! I have had bad math teachers ever since sophomore year of highschool and it was so nice to have him. He does call on kids a lot, but he's not picking on you he really just wants to make sure everyone understands. He's so caring and just wants everyone in the class to pass. Would take again hands down if I had the chance.

lectures are a little all over the place, could be clearer and to the point. structure does not exist, but homework is reasonable. great teacher none the less, humorous. Test are easy if you understand the notes and do good on hw.

Great professor hands down. Has a real way of connecting with his students and has a very efficient teaching method. Also worth mentioning he's pretty funny. I had failed math 5B twice (mostly my fault) and Mr. Allen just had a way of helping us understand at a general level. It was the same materials as before, they just made sense in his class.

Bill Allen is the best college professor I had in my 10 years of college. He breaks down math so anyone can understand it, and I mean anyone from a preschooler to a college doctorate graduate. I absolutely loved his class. He makes math fun and like a puzzle. I am a high school special teacher now and I still use his method of teaching in my class.

Mr Allen is the best teacher I've had in my academic career yet. His guidelines are simple-do the homework, pay attention in class, and just try and you will pass with flying colors. He lays things out in the simplest terms and is passionate about a students success. Asbolutely recommend him to anyone. I suck at math and got an A on everything.
